I've got a few quick questions though, if you don't mind. Are we assuming that everyone's getting dismissed for the day at around the same time or are they all heading home/doing whatever it is they each do after work separately?

Also, I know it's been said in the interest check that anchors are rarely given a job other than being an Exterminator, and that even if they get one it's related to their newfound abilities, but I was wondering if that was referring to specifically jobs with the government/anchor-management department or to all jobs in general? Like, are they actively barred from pursuing other jobs even in private-owned businesses? I mean, I assume that the identities of anchors, though collected, aren't necessarily announced to the public because it's been stated at previously that most Exterminators try to keep their anchor-status secret to keep their job from getting harder than it already is, so I gather that it's not just that most private businesses refuse to hire anchors out of discrimination because they wouldn't know that the person applying would even be an anchor in the first place.

The latter paragraph of questions is mostly just because I figure that, given a sliver of a chance, Gray would probably try to preserve whatever non-criminal restorationist jobs he could which provides a very nice opportunity for personal drama given that there's likely some rumors circulating now since at least one of his former employers knows for sure that he's an anchor and I figure that there's a possibility some people might still want to employ him for various reasons (getting away with paying him a lower wage since they would presumably be one of the few still willing to hire him being among them)

My understanding is that becoming an Exterminator is their (new, forced) job, and forces them to quit all others (which is why all former occupations for our characters were crossed out in their CSes).

Though if the goverment wants the anchor's identity to be a secret then they must officially hire them and provide a cover job as to not raise suspicion whenever they go out and got asked by their neighbors

Yes, aside from specific assignments, all registered anchors are exterminators and legally cannot acquire another job.
Exterminations is often done in the public. People see, people talk, word gets around quick. Most exterminators try to keep a low profile but things inevitably move to the open.

Ah yes but that costs money, and politicians don't wanna spend money on anchors when they could just pocket it. Their logic is "It's their responsibility to be discrete. They can just say they work for the government."
It may sound like bad logic, but that's because it is.

I understand lol, I do tax work and it's been getting awful.

We're not in the action anymore. Just flavor for now, interactions and such, exposition. Nothing story significant (planned) for the moment. A little calm before the next storm. Take this as an opportunity to flesh out your character's place in the setting, a vignette with someone else, what ever. But I would encourage a mix of those two.
Hawkshaw will be on his own unless someone is interested in interacting with him, same for Vasoine. Bask is unconscious at the hospital though.

I've been poking at the idea of a "theme" to capture the feel of the world and the intensity of being an exterminator. Couldn't find one that fit in the goldilocks zone, but I have a few that get pretty close on different notes. Hopefully these will help to further immerse y'all into the setting.
It feels appropriate considering it was years of listening to my spotify playlist that made me begin formulating this story.

I like to reference music since I think it gives me better ideas. Luckily I really enjoy atmospheric progressive and desert metal/rock.
Although I'm trying me best to avoid comparisons to JoJo. I particularly love part 4 and 8 of JoJo, but I don't want this to just be a fanfic.

So, based on the fact that this has slowed down so much, we have so few people, Bug hasn't been online in a month, and we haven't gotten very far along in the story, I think it would be good to revitalize this by reopening the Interest Check and recruiting a couple new players. Thoughts?
