PROFESSOR LAZARUS CHAUNCEY

"Ah, Saint Nicholas exists, so at least I have something to tell the teenagers. If they still believe in Kris Kringle." Lazarus laughed, intertwining his fingertips. "George Washington was a marvellous fellow. Although Benjamin Franklin was awful, did I mention I was apprenticed to him? Old sod walked around nude, and I can tell you that wasn't a pretty sight. Sometimes I still have nightmares about it. He was rude, aloof, and far too intelligent than I like to give him credit for." Chauncey continued to grumble, finishing off his mug of tea with a shake of his head. "You see I got to know the founding fathers quite well, after I defected to the colonial ranks. My father never forgave me for that and took it to heart. Mother wrote to me later in anguish, that as their only son I was an abomination in the eyes of God and his Majesty. I was unable to see them, but when I apparently 'died' during a scuffle, they placed what they thought to be my ashes in the family crypt. Up in our old estate in Scotland. It's warming, to know that they might've been disappointed, but it wasn't all lost." The Professor appeared to relay his story without much trouble or sorrow, at last placing his cutlery upon the somewhat empty breakfast plate.

"I know not how much I've borrowed, but I'd be glad to see the advancements for another few centuries before I decide to keel over. Might I add, I believe your own presence is quite radiant to be in." A dashing, but playful grin accompanied his compliment, sitting up. "You should begin to pave the road for others to follow. It all starts with one, after all." Moving his chair back, he glanced at the passing professor and nodded in greeting. "Morning Maverick, thoughts are with you for the first day." Twisting to face Minerva after the other teacher passed, Chauncey stood himself up. "I suppose I should begin walking before breakfast is over. Delight as always, Miss Averneth. I should hope to see you during break if you're available. Otherwise, whenever we next meet, m'lady." A deep bow followed, partially humorous, till carrying his tray toward the bin and putting the dirty utensils in the large bucket of lukewarm water. Off toward the humanities department, with hands folded neatly behind his back, and a mighty phoenix still hunched over his shoulder.

Professor Minerva Averneth

Minerva leaned her head over to the side and chuckled as she placed her chin on her hand. "Ah Benjamin the bain of every witch and wizards being. A nomaj who was intent on exposing us, although he was a brilliant man he was quite oblivious. We allowed him only to find what we wanted him to find but he believed every peice of evidence was a break through. Truely amusing." She listened as he spoke of his family and smiled slightly before she sighed and straightened herself up. "Well I am happy to be in the presence of such an abomination. I'm sure you have many more lives to live before you kick the bucket." Minerva's cheeks grew hot at his mention of her presence, silently cursing herself as she stood with Lazarus as he acknowledged Maverick.

"Same too you Mr. Chauncey." Minerva waved her goodbye to Lazarus, dropping her hand as soon as he was out of sight. Collecting her items she made her way out of the cafeteria and to her classroom. She was starting to get the jitters of the first day, shaking her hands at her sides attempting to calm herlself. Although she was ervous she kept her head held high, not wishing to gain any unwanted attention.
