Aleksander

Taking his sheets out of his bag, Aleksander only shrugged in response. He was never the most socially adept person, as that would require him to take time away from studying his power. Being cooped up wasn't really a big deal for him, not when he summoned shadows.

Laying them down, Aleksander looked back up at his roommate and found his curiosity peaking as he took in her appearance as well as apparel; definitely not one for fighting, but magic of some kind..."And what are you then, a Conjurer?" It was the only thing that came to mind, as Summoners, like himself, generally covered themselves practically head to toe and Enchanters were...well, they were their own strange breed. Placing his pillows down, he nodded at the eclipses emblazoned on them, pleased he was able to take a piece of home with him. Speaking of which...He walked back to his bag and began removing the many thick volumes that made up the majority of the bags weight before making his way over to bedside table and setting down the first stack. He would also be asking for a bookcase to be brought up, he decided before sitting down on his bed and awaited a response.

Kat was pleased to watch him bring out so many books. She hadn't met many humans, let alone creatures, that shared her interest in learning the way she did. At least she assumed that's what the books were meant for. She had her own stockpile of family and conjuring books neatly stacked by her bed and under nightstand.

She let out a sigh and propped herself back up on her bed before looking over at him again, answering his question.
"You're quite right, though, it isn't too hard to guess," she grinned. "I can see you do your fair share of reading as well. That's a bit of a relief." She laid back on her pillow and stared at the blank ceiling, speaking a little softer.
"I thought I'd be alone here, honestly," she laughed. "It doesn't sound too bad, now that I think about it."

She twirled her finger in the air, creating a small wisp of violet light that followed her movements.
"Also, don't worry. I don't dress this way all of the time. It's more for first day purposes. Don't want people thinking I'm slacking."

((That would be Tier 3, dorm 1))

Aleksander

Aleksander could only scratch the back of his head as he glanced back at the medium-sized stack on his bedside table. A closer look made him realize they were volumes on the theories of summoner blood lines, a brief mentioning of being able to summon shadows, and the many, many hypothesis on blocks. Oh, and one couldn't forget the incredibly frustrating mad ramblings of the journal of his seventh great grandfather, Mora Sova.

He quickly turned back to the girl, "Well, one can never learn enough. After all, isn't knowledge power?" He found that he could communicate somewhat easier with her, which was a relief considering they would be sharing the same living space for a number of years.  His gaze followed the wisps of violet light she created before he jumped at the opportunity, unable to help himself. He felt a small smile grow as he extended his palm, feeling the familiar to and fro of the shadows. Nothing fancy, just a parlor trick. He narrowed his eyes in concentration as he made the shadows extend from the foot of his bed to the foot of the bed in between them before having them retreat and gather on the ceiling, leaving the walls and floors bare of any shadow or darkness whatsoever. He let it go immediately, watching as it flowed and separated like wisps of smoke back to their original places. He smiled sheepishly before wondering why the hell he did that. It was stupid and childish, a mere trick that only hinted at power that should be his, and yet it alluded him. His father could slice a man into two with his summoning when he was Aleksander's age. And yet...Aleksander shook his head, "I apologize. Seeing you create the light...it just made me want to...exorcise it a bit." It was a lame excuse, but it sounded a lot better than just telling her he wanted to show her what he could do. Stupid and childish. He looked back over to the stack of books and grabbed the Journal of Mad Ramblings, as he took to calling it.

The edges of Kat's lips perked into a smile. She enjoyed all other kinds of magic, despite not mastering her own yet. That was one reason she took refuge in reading and learning. She felt as if it would make her better, she wanted to be the best. She would be the best.

She stood up and walked over to her closet, going into the bathroom to change into something more comfortable and casual before walking back into the room, tying her hair up and walking over to him and sitting on the floor in front of him.
"Since this is the first out of many days we'll be spending together, what's your name, kid?"

She was intrigued by him and what he could do.
She opened her hand, light erupting from her palm. Playful images played out in violet and white, making her smile, waiting for his answer.

Aleksander

Head lifting from the journal, Aleksander could only stare into the images and flashes of color playing out in her palm; he almost missed her question before he looked back into her violet eyes. "Aleksander Sova. And yours?" He said, slightly unsure as he never...well, this was the longest conversation he ever held with someone who wasn't in his family, and he found it wasn't as much of a pain as he thought it would be. Eyes dropping back to her palm, he swallowed before shakily opening his palm and closed his eyes as tried to summon the darkness and shadow into his palm. Before he was merely playing with shadows that only exist. Actually summoning them was doable for him, but it required more concentration. He tried to keep the black of the darkness and gray of the shadows in constant motion, almost like a vortex, lest they merge together and the black consumed it all. He tried to imagine it like a storm cloud being outlined by black smokey vapor. He didn't dare open his eyes for fear of losing concentration, but he could tell from the constant movement in his palm that he was succeeding. Such a thing to be proud of...he could swirl his power in his hands. He should be so--

He felt his control slip slightly and he tightened his hold on it, almost sighing in relief as he regained control. Thoughts like that would only deter him. He felt the corners of his mouth lift in a small smile as he continued to swirl the darkness around the shadow. There wasn't much one could do with such a limited palette, but it was something.

Katarina

Kat watched his expression carefully. Light was a lot easier to control than shadows, she knew that, so she was quite fascinated at how he could do it. It was obvious he wasn't a master at it, but who could blame him? They were still young, after all, and not everyone was raised in a home where magic was used daily and for almost everything.

From a very young age, she was taught how to conjure certain things, how to shift things with her powers, and if need be, how to kill. Being the youngest of seven children, she was always behind in most everything, always trying to one up her siblings. They all attended Solatium, and they all became extremely powerful, some of the most prestigious graduates of the school.

She looked back up at him, a little twinkle of hope in her eyes.

"Katarina Avaris Farcri, but feel free to call me Kat or whatever you want," she began to think.
"Sova? That sounds oddly familiar."

She quickly shook the thoughts from her head and closed her palm, directing her attention strictly to him.

Even casually, she was a wonder. A mixture of mystery, darkness, but still somehow, a slight playfulness to her.

((Totally gonna make one now lmao))

Aleksander

Fist closing, crushing the vortex, Aleksander looked back up at her and nodded, "Kat then." He then paused as she told him to call her by a shortened name, he should do the same for her. "Erm, Aleks...or, whatever you'd like." He gave his full attention to her, seeing that smile and uncertainly returned it with one of his own. He knew he was stumbling, he didn't know how to interact with people, but for a first stumble, he figured he was doing relatively well. Light was easier to mold than darkness, but with the ease of which she did so...was something else. He found himself questioning her name, more so its origin, as well as wondering if she was...similar to himself--rather, where he came from. "Where do you come from?" He asked softly, theories flooding his mind and thoughts on that light in contrast to...he almost shook my head. With that train of thought, he'd end up no better than Mora Sova. Absolutely insane, rambling in a journal. Are we not all things? He actually felt a shiver at that.

Lucifer walked in the courtyard just coming three from a small town. He looked around the blood on his coat dripped as he walked. He saw a key in his hand that said "3:1" lucifer guess third level or something like it and a first room.  He got to a row of dorms with tier 3 on it so he walked threw it looking for his room. He saw it was nice as he walked in. He didn't waste time as he went out to explore around. He heeard some people or noises of them in te distance. He walked tworads it looking for people. He wondered what they where doing as he got into viewing range.

(Thanks :P )

Andreas Reed

"Tier 3," answered the lady curtly, handing him a silver key with a tag on it. Andreas glanced at the key, seeing that the tag read Tier 3, Room 1. Andreas sighed and got his suitcase, and bid farewell to the stern clerk, who only gave him the stink eye as he passed.

Andreas chuckled softly as he made it to Tier 3. He saw a door with a plaque reading Room 1, but it was slightly open. Andreas wondered if roommates were already in there. He personally would've liked to arrive first, so he could settle in peace, but since he was late, that hope was long gone. Looks like he'll have to deal with them first.

Andreas entered the room. It was fairly large; with three triangular windows on the left side of the wall, the right side, and the back. Andreas could already see the first two beds, one situated next to the left wall, and the other against the back, by two other people. He took notice of a beautiful girl with jet-black locks, wearing a rather revealing set of clothes. Andreas found himself staring a little longer than he should've. The young genie broke his gaze and spotted another being. The guy looked no older than Andreas, but with his black hair, pale skin and piercing blue eyes, he looked almost ominous. Andreas wondered what kind of powers this man could possess. Surely some kind of dark magic, reasoned Andreas. The genie wasn't too fond of dark magic; it was dark after all, but Andreas was smart enough to know how powerful and destructive it could be.

Seeming to have interrupted some form of conversation, he leaned against the frame of the door, smirking. "Am I interrupting something?"

Kat looked down. "Aleks... I like that," she pondered on her home. It was one of the most forbidden places in the side of the universe. Before she could even open her mouth, another voice spoke behind her.
"Am I interrupting something?"
She turned to face him, her eyes glinting red for a second.

"Just getting to know each other, casual roomie talk." She stood up and stretched, winking at Aleks and walking back to her side of the room, her finger bringing her current read back to her and in front of her, pages turning every once in awhile.

"So, you room here too? Wasn't actually expecting that. What's your name?"

She looked up at him, just over the edge of her book.

lucifer listened to the people talk but heard another voice join in. He looked up and looked around seeing a man leaning on a doorway. He walked by him to the dorm to see if anyone had come. He reached the door but it seemed warm from contact. He looked in and saw no one in but he relaxed making a swoard appear. It had a sharp tip and he threw it towards the door stabbing it. He made a booming sound rining threw the halls and he kept making it happen. He walked out and sat at the door waiting for a roommate to come if any.

(Wait Lucifer, do you mind explaining what your character is even doing? And why? Because it makes no sense...)

Andreas Reed

"Andreas Reed," answered the young genie, letting himself into the room. "The best and most skilled genie you'll ever meet." He took a silly bow, and snatched his suitcase, flashing a smile at her, eyeing the book she was reading. "What're you reading there?" he asked, glancing at her, as he made it to the right side of the dorm, where an unoccupied bed remained. He heaved his suitcase up onto the sheets, and began unpacking. His side of the room wasn't that bad. One of the triangular windows was right beside his bed, filtering in golden light onto the blankets. A closet sat on the opposite side, and there was a mahogany night table complete with a pretty little lamp.

Professor Minerva Averneth

Minerva listened and smiled as he offered to show her around when they both had the time. "That would be lovely, thank you." It almost felt odd to talk to someone for as long as she had with the Professor, the longest conversation she had last year being with the headmaster on some not so good terms. She quickly glanced over to where the students were, or used to be, seeing most have gone in search of their rooms or were in line for their keys. This made her feel as if she should most likely get on with her day, but in all honesty, she wished to drag out this conversation for as long as she could, unsure of the next time she would have a professional interaction.

When he started speaking about the gym and his sparing she could almost feel her heart drop, only because she wished to use it for class but did not wish to get on the Professor's bad side. Though seeing how most viewed her she knew having the man before her view her in the same light shouldn't affect her that much. In most cases, Minerva would have used the gym even if another Professor opposed but she knew, in this case, she must be civil. " Well I hope my class does not get in the way of your sparring time. Every now and then if it rains and we are focusing on physical magic I take the children into the gym so that they are less likely to cause harm there. "  While Minerva smiled she felt her body relax after she spoke, she had been civil and that was all that mattered at the moment.

Minerva chuckled when he leaned in and called her 'normal', seeing she was anything but. "Just wait till you get to know me. I'm sure your idea of me will change." She semi-joked, but knew it to be mostly true. Most of the time Minerva was difficult to get along with, never really one to change just because one asks. Which is why most of the staff had a certain dislike towards her, mainly because she did not bend to their will like most.

Aleksander

Catching the wink Kat sent his way, Aleksander smiled slightly in return before turning his head to the new-comer and interrupter who would be the third occupant of the room. Yippee. He gave Kat one last look, his mind going back to its previous train of thought before opening the journal and sitting back on his pillows. Mora Sova may have at one time been an amazing summoner, as the beginning of the journal showed evidence of, but something happened to him. He grew more and more...obsessed over the one rule of magic: Nothing is infinite. Nothing. And yet, he sought to change that. Scrawled in margins and in ink splotched paragraphs was the same question: Are we not all things? It seemed to be the sole basis of Mora's obsession. Aleksander had read and re-read the journal too many times to count, but he kept coming back, hoping the answers to his problem-his block-lay within. Instead, all he got were passages of rambling nonsense and half-written experiments without an end. The final entry was just another such frustration, as it seemed Mora as close to something, so close he could actually harness--and then it ended on that word. Harnessed...what?!

Aleksander sighed once again as he re-read one of the first passages showing Mora's decline: We, as Summoners, are told that nothing is infinite, except the greed of man. We are born Summoners of a specific element or craft, and we will carry that in our bloodline. That single element or craft, nothing more. But, are we not all things? Using myself as example, if I was only the darkness, I would only be able to feel darkness. If someone else was only light, they would only feel light. That is what the law tells us, but it is not so. I can feel the light in me when I look upon my children just as the light summoner can feel the darkness when he looks upon his aggressor. We are not confined to one single element then, we are all things. As such, we should be able to summon ALL things. Light and Dark, Fire and Water. It's within ourselves, we descendants of the first summoner, and therefor we can replicate HIS power for ourselves. We are all things, and have the capability to summon all things...

Aleksander peeled his eyes away from the page, feeling a headache start up already. He briefly wondered how he had survived reading through it the first time, and this was when Mora was comprehensible!

Katarina

"I'm Katarina Farcri. Conjurer."
She was enjoying her conversation with the Summoner. He seemed pleasant, almost as if they had met before. She had never gotten along with someone so fast, it almost disgusted her, but again, she didn't mind him. This new boy, however, put her off for some reason. It wasn't him, she just wasn't too much of a people person and having more than one roommate bothered her. But she'd just have to get used to it, to him, to both of them.

She sighed softly and began explaining what her book was about.
"It's some family writings. Generations ago. It's a little hard to understand considering it's in the family language but I'm getting used to it." She smiled.
She saw the discomfort Aleks was having next to her, as she was on the bed between the two.
"You alright there, slick?" She teased, but still slightly concerned. She thought for a second before looking out the window. A lot of time had passed, without her even noticing.
"Would either of you like to go take a walk around campus? It's dusk and I have yet to even check the place out."

Tecomaria wasn't surprised at all as she watched the girl phase through the door. She had seen enough freaky things in her days as a druid there wasn't much that scared her. Anything that the average ghost could do paled in comparison to what a pissed off dryiad could do. Tecomaria had just finished placing a few potted plants that she brought with her on a windowsill. "Welcome! What brings you to my dorm?" She asked with a smile. @Mollisol

Lucifer finally decided to get up and go to the courtyard to fight a couple of his minions. He walked out whistling loudly. When he reached the courtyard he relaxed and closed his eyes. He made a demonic looking tiger appear with a flash of fire. He released his eyes and smiled. He gestured for the beast to attack. The beast lunged with great power slashing as it flew threw the air. Lucifer made a dagger like item appear in an instant. He ducked and slit the guts out of he beast. Lucifer smiled and walked way as the beast disappeared. Before it did it howled like a dying animal. It screeched and rang threw the halls and the dorms. Lucifer let the dagger disappear as he walked in and smiled as he walked to his dorm.

Maverick Lucian

Maverick watched the professor as he spoke. When he was done with his speech Maverick clapped his hands in kindness. He watched observing the students reaction, as well as watching the other professors. While the students went about their business Maverick noticed the professors leave. Maverick watched two head out a door leading outside. He still needed to get more acquainted with them. It wouldn't hurt to get familiar with the area as well. In the blink of an eye Maverick vanished into a cloud of black mist. In that same instant Maverick appeared outside in front of the door. He scanned the area looking for the professors, when he noticed they were standing not even five feet away. Making his way over Maverick stopped in front of them " Greetings my name is Maverick Lucian Pleasure to meet you both!" he stated in a calm tone revealing slightly extended canines. He gave a slight bow before standing straight again. A cold dark aura flowed from him sending sending icy chills down those who could sense it. His dark ocean blue eyes met theirs.

((@Lord Anubis Nice! I love Soul Reaver and Legacy of Kain! Great choice))

Aleksander

Hearing Kat ask such a question was enough for Aleksander to put the frustrating journal down...well, that and her teasing voice calling him slick, which he scratched the back of his neck at. He did want to get to know her, but it was a little more than just that, and he knew it. The contrast between the both of them intrigued him more than ever and the words of his ancestor rang in his head once more. Are we not all things? However, there was also the fact that she had extended the invitation to both of them, and so far, he wasn't much a fan of their new roommate. Aleksander could tell immediately the arrogance that came off him in waves was more than the academy could fit in its halls. He then wondered how such a person could fit through the dorm room. However...he glanced back at the journal and his decision was made.

"That actually sounds pleasant." He replied, lips quirked in a small smile. "Shall we see what the Academy has to offer us?" He'd take any excuse to get away from the madness within those while he still could.

(ooc: Ya iv played all the games except blood omen 1 and soul reaver 1! I wish they would continue the series!)

Katarina

She shut her book carefully back into it's place and stood up. She grabbed her room key, twirling it on her finger and smirking.
"Well then, shall we?" She opened the door, sliding out and gesturing for the two to follow her.

She began walking down the hallway, her head down, lights dancing from her sneakers. It was always a delight to play with light. It wasn't as simple as it looked, but she had been doing it for as long as she could even remember. She find most things rather boring, so she always tried to spice things up a little bit.

She turned back, waiting for at least one of the boys to follow her.

She wanted to get to know Aleks better. Almost a need. Her mind was cluttered with so many questions as to where he had come from, what he could do, and why he seemed so familiar, it almost gave her a headache.

"Any day now."

Lucifer grunted as he came in. He saw people walking but he just blew it off. He looked for his dorm and smiled as he got to the door. He didnt seem very pleased with his minion at all. He saw that beast as a poor peasant that barley tried, so he came up with a great idea. He would lock the dorm door and summon a close range minion to fight. He created a small short sword and placed it on the floor. Then he made a demon looking man in a short black shirt appear. He had a dagger and throwing knives. The man instantly went at Lucifer. Lucifer tried to pick up his short sword but it was to late, The man had already smashed him threw the door and into the hallway making loud yelling noises.
