Ha that sounds pretty spot-on to what White would do, so yeah no demoting Seth to an NPC.

Not done with you yet. I want to say, after seeing what you did with Axis, I like this character too. I like his story and I'm guessing his power is communication? If it is, that's cool. I like him. He seems like a guy who doesn't know how to fight (low prow), but can take a beating. Which I think suits the class and what you're going for well. A big soft bear with a temper.
