If you're interested in doing a little research into flower language, each house has its own qualities that it stresses. For example, the cypress tree is often associated with personal sacrifices and lore-wise, is associated with the Underworld. So, we can safely assume the House Cypress stresses reverence for the dead and our ancestors, as well as teaches their students the importance of making personal sacrifices for the greater good.
