Small Towns 1x1

Nation cocked his head, ears twitching, amusing? No, he was fucking hilarious to him, and that was a simple fact. And yes, it was good for him to know, he should keep that in mind. But, keeping that innocent dog like look, he replied "What do I want? What do you want? I was sleeping peacefully until you so gracefully fell into me." Nathin noted, his tail flicking left to right as he laid back down, only after arching like a cat and making himself comfortable in the flat spot he'd made in the grass. He laid his head down on his paws, looking up at the other with his big chocolate eye, as if he was the victim here. Just to see if he could prick the other any further of course. He was already on a roll this week, but of course, he thought of it like checking up on his 'pet'. That was the name he'd given him, so naturally this is what he would refer to the other would. Either way, the other was leaving for work was that it? He wondered how long his shift was, and if he could trip him again when he got back...It wasn't mean he was simply testing, or would be testing, the other's vision and memory- as well as reflex. Nothing more or less, if of course, this one could hold his interest for that long.

Quinton felt...Small, at the moment, seeing the other look down, feeling more than awkward at the eye contact that he found himself dragged into...And the stroking. He was brought back to attention when Damon pulled back, blinking when Damon added in the 'soon', and then he'd left. Leaving Quinton to realize that his time was running out, and fast, he was supposed to get a book and go. He could pull it off that he got caught up in the books if he was just a little late but that was no excuse to be utterly late. He quickly pulled out a book that he knew, making sure that it was something good, then hurried off and checked it out before rushing back to class. A more or less flustered feeling engulfing him, never the less he ignored it as he took his seat back in his room.

"I should have fallen harder, " Leon muttered, having nearly gotten the rest of the cords untangled, and was wrapping them around his wrists again, making sure the ones he'd done already were secure enough. He'd decided that the best way to get the other to ignore him would be to tune him out - with death metal. Unfortunately, he now couldn't find his headphones - or his phone, for that matter. If the wolf was sitting on it, he was going to be both pissed off and unwilling to reach for it, so he looked around the area instead, making sure not to get too close or to make any eye contact with the massive animal, though he had seen it's current position which had successfully annoyed him further. He was an Alpha, for god's sake. Didn't he have anything better to do than sit there and annoy Leon, tripping him up and then flopping all over his belongings?

Seeing his attempt successful Nathin blinked, returning to his usual expression- which was naturally a bored look, you could say. He wasn't quite sure what the other was looking for, or why, really, but it must've been important if he was checking so extensively- and carefully. It was amusing how Leo had seemed to set his own boundry in just how close he was willing to get and how close he was willing to look before his eyes flicked some other way. Yes, he'd been right, he was 'so god damn amusing' to Nathin. Flicking his ears he closed his eyes again, human shifts went for hours on end and he could only guess that when Leo's ended that it would be a good time for Nathin himself to get to work- so, he would sleep here until the other returned, at least. Though, he could still hear the other shuffling around looking for whatever, he mused, the other should pray it wasn't in his fur- fallen after he tripped. How unpleasant that would be for him.

"Where. Is. It." Leon finally gave up searching around the Alpha, having a feeling the other knew exactly where it was and wasn't telling him anything. He wouldn't be surprised one bit if that was true, seeing as the werewolf obviously enjoyed messing with people...he was lucky Leon couldn't do anything about it, really. He wouldn't ind punching the wolf in the snout just to express his annoyance, but there was no way his own would let him - and he didn't really want to fight, no. But with everything that had happened in the past week, he was beyond tired, and hadn't slept at all, so yes he was cranky. But he couldn't and wouldn't touch the wolf, so he settled on giving Nathin the Darth Vader gesture the moment he thought the man wasn't looking, thinking the Sith Lord's powers would really come in handy right about now.

--------

Jason pushed in through the front door, followed by a woman with lilac colored hair and green eyes, holding the door open for when she entered before closing it behind her. She sighed, and Jason's eyes snapped from her to Damon - who was sprawled out on the couch, his head and leg visible, as well as his right hand that was slung over the arm of the seating, clutching a bottle of scotch. It took a lot to get that drunk, for werewolves anyway, and Damon was literally the only one who bothered to do it, and somehow, the man always had a reason for going at it. Amber grumbled, going over to him and snatching away the glass, causing the Alpha to groan his complaint, which ceased after seeing the look on her face. "Are you kidding me? Now?"

"I was....thirsty," Damon slurred, sitting up when she slammed the glass on the table. Jason's mate was probably the only person just as homicidal as he was, and not even he wanted to end up on the Beta's bad side. Unfortunately for him, he always did, and much to Jason's amusement. She couldn't outright fight him, so she found ways around it, verbally assaulting him in her own snarky ways. Damon was just glad she wasn't an alpha, she'd beat his ass, and he would have let her out of sheer respect for someone who refused to put up with his bullshit.

"You're going to be drinking your own diarrhea in a moment when I shove your head up your ass, see if that'll calm your thirst...we need to talk, and I need you sober," she growled halfheartedly after pulling her Alpha up, stealing the bottle to take it into the kitchen, no doubt to replace it's contents with water. Damon didn't have to turn to know that his friend was snickering, and he huffed, leaning back again. "Shhhhut up, goddammit...I'm fine."

Nathin raised half himself up with his back legs, feeling the belongings slide down his back, across his head, and fly off landing a good foot in front of him. He'd still yet to open his eyes as he settled back down, curling into something like a ball. Summer was taking it's leave and Fall this year would be a season full of preperation, not for Winter itself but for what it held. To be honest he wasn't sure how well they could hold out to the sudden big, new adjustment or just how much of his normal schedule he could salvage, but hopefully it was enough to keep him satisfied. So, even if it did involve sleeping on this one's lawn, he would take it whilst he still had the chance. Lucky for Leo, that wouldn't be for too long, but this wouldn't be the only time that was for sure.

Eren blew out a puff of air, tail flicking absent mindedly as she watched the pack until her son returned. Speaking of coming back, however, she raised her head to catch a glimpse of brown fur walking in, Quinton must've returned from school. It was only confirmed when Alex came trotting across the area to greet him. Silver eyes lifted to the late afternoon sky, this would be one of the last that they would get, after Fall the sky would be clouded and the snow would be falling, this of course would not be too noticed, they would be far too busy for that. She wondered, maybe, if that's what was driving Nathin off so much- stressed that this would be one of the few times as of now that he would be able to run off whenever he pleased. A three year routine being broken was not an easy thing, well, he'd been doing it long before that but of course not with the same responsibilities he had now. Maybe...Maybe it hadn't been such a great call. It had been her's, after all, and trusting his mother Nathin had agreed without question- now she felt guilty for his current condition. She would find a way to make it up to him when everything was settled back down, but this, this was better for them then their current condition. They would be safer this way.

Leon had avoided going home the same way ever since he'd run into the wolf a second time on the way back that first day, irking him further. It was strange, and unnerving really to him, just having the presence of the other there. Whatever this man was doing to his psyche, leon didn't exactly hate it, he couldn't - it was the face that he liked it that made him so uneasy. God if there was one reason he wish he had a pack for, one single reason, it would be to help fucking figure out all the twists and turns that were apparently part of being an Omega. He didn't understand it. At least then he was an Alpha, he had Damon there to guide him into not becoming a bloodthirsty monster blinded by the new power as Damon mentioned he had been. Leon could never get him to talk much about his past, that was as close as he'd get.

Sadly, today, he just didn't have the energy or the means to walk an extra mile just to avoid the inevitable, and he sighed as he made his way forward, the scent growing stronger as he walked when the Alpha again came into view. He had shifted himself, just to see if the weird feelings would dissipate the closer he got, provided the other wouldn't attack the grey wolf as he padded forward. He was quite large for an Omega, just under the Alpha's height, having retained the same psychical shape in his wolf form as he'd had before he'd lost his true rank, though he wasn't as muscled, parallel to his human form.

He wasn't trying, really, to be an annoyance- granite it was a plus that he was able to prick the other without lifting a finger, but, he wasn't. This wasn't the first time he'd slept there, he'd done it before Leo even tripped over him. The unlucky soul just seemed to have had a house within territory lines and right next to his favorite napping spot. Now who's fault was that? Certainly not his, aye? Nathin had his back turned today, facing the other way than the usual face to face he had going on. No, now he'd turned with his face smashed into the ground, judging by his position, he'd collapsed there after he made a circle trying to get comfortable- you know, that thing dogs do before laying down. Yes that, it would explain why he was facing the wrong direction. Normally, he made two circles, seemed he'd only made it to half of the first one before giving up. He wasn't even on his stomach, rather side, having given up completely. Forgetting the comfort, he'd just wanted to sleep. Hell, when Leo approached he barely got a flutter of the eyes, or rather eye, before it closed right back up. His days were consumed with preperation, his nights with work, and while that part was his own fault he wouldn't miss it for the world. So, to be honest, he wasn't moving anytime soon, not willingly either. This was the only time he could get to just, well, lie there and do nothing. With the occasional roll over.

Damon hadn't bothered to try and speak to Quinton over the weekend - the teen would have been practically stalked by one of the others at all times, even he knew that. Interestingly enough, the wait only made him want to see Quinton more, and when Monday rolled around, there was no way he wasn't going to plan to take advantage of it. He hadn't bothered to try and get inside the school again, not because he couldn't, but because he didn't feel the need to. The moment Quinton had one back to his class last time, Damon had set off in search for the students responsible for the symmetrical scratch marks on his face, and found the trio of older boys just outside the building, obviously skipping - which was very, very unlucky timing for them. The werewolf had picked out the ringleader by the unkempt long hair on his head and ignored the painful cries, freezing the other two into place with a look, knowing that if they ran he'd obliterate them both. The man then proceeded to threaten to break the boy's ribs and use them as chopsticks to strip away and devour his biceps if he or anyone else so much as uttered an offensive word to 'his Quinn' again, complete with a snarl and a flash of fangs before he dropped the kid and walked away. He didn't nee to tell them not to mention his threat to anyone, the implication of what could happen was convincing enough for that matter, and it was why he was able to lean against his Harley in the school parking lot now, arms crossed with his eyes on the school doors, waiting for Quinton to come out.

Quinton stretched, cracking his back before lazily rolling the knob on his locker to unlock it, picking things out selectively so that he could finish work that needed to be done and leave the rest behind. It made it easier not to have so much weighing him down when making his way home that way. He didn't need to be interrogated by Alex on why he was late, she was already checking up on him everytime he made his way into camp and Nathin was nowhere to be found. Preparing for something he said, important he insisted, well if it was so important why hadn't he told the pack yet? Under moon lit skies rumors went back and forth on what it could possibly be, the only hint was Eren saying something about the first generation. That was two before them, right? Or no, there were many before that, but for them, it was two before since that's around the time they were all born. Nathin had a cousin from there, maybe she was visiting. To be honest, right now, Quinton was far from caring. It'd been another peaceful day and that was more than he could've asked for- and now it was time for another long walk home, though, not long enough. With Nathin out so much and Alex being little more than an annoyance recently, he'd really not much to do but homework and sleep. It made him feel like a real human, as even he hadn't shifted in a while, of course even they mustve had more fun than he was. Pushing the doors open, they screeched as he moved out with a small crowd of others eager to get home. He groaned lightly as the sun hit his eyes, he hated how late school got out, as he'd rather not to be greeted with the blinding sun everyday. He rubbed his eyes, moving down the steps.

First strange thing was that Nathin hadn't made some sort of comment at his passing by, whether it be just to gain his attention or to purposely prick at him. Second thing was his position...it looked very much as if he'd straight crashed into the ground and hadn't found the energy to pick himself back up, or at least, lay in his usual position which Leon figured was comfortable to him. The Omega wanted to just ignore it and move on, but really, he couldn't help being the slightest bit curious. He had made a point of not coming into close contact with the other, not now nor ever...but something small couldn't hurt. If he kept coming back here knowing that the other lived nearby, the alpha probably wasn't going to try and kill him, hell he hadn't even forced Leon to shove off of his territory. He padded closer lightly though the grass, circling the black wolf twice before leaning down and nudging him in the side, unable to help himself from making the perfect Gollum impression. "Issss it dead, hobitses? Is it?"

------

Damon tapped his fingers on the top of the small vehicle before his ears twitched at the sound of the bell sounding from inside the school doors. Any minute now, he supposed, looking at his watch and back to said doors just as they opened, and the herd of teenagers came flooding out, obviously very grateful to be let out of the place they referred to as 'hell'. Idiots. Didn't even appreciate it. It bothered Damon for reasons he'd refuse to admit out loud, though he had no problem fuming about them when he was alone. Luckily, he knew a certain student that actually enjoyed it, or at least some parts of it anyway. He spotted Quinton walking down the front steps with the mass of students, pinpointed in Damon's line of vision as he walked forward to intercept him at the base of the steps, hands in his pockets as he looked up as the other walked down, the smirk back in it's place.

Nathin's fur bristled and his free eye opened, not even half way, but enough for his iris to flash a certain crimson with a hint of something lighter, much like a fire, and to get a clear view of what unlucky fucker- oh. Leo. Yes he should've known, but the other hadn't walked this way in some time, whether it be to avoid him or because he just didn't use it often. Well. He'd let him live. This time. He let out a huff blowing stray grass in the other's face before closing his barely open eye and tucking his head into his fur- which was growing. Now that it was getting colder his coat was getting thicker, but this was nothing compared to when it was full blown Winter time. Alex often swore to him he grew twice his size when such happened, however, this did not got for all over. Why this was, he wasn't sure. Nathin might've told the other to go annoy someone else, which was certainly a change of rolls for the two of them, but that would take so much energy and just wasnt worth it.

Quinton reached up to brush some of the stray strands of hair out of his face, blow out from their spot by the rush of teens heading straight passed him. He wasn't sure just what could be so important that they strived for back home but it was certainly better than anything that he was going back to, that was for sure at least. Tired from another long day, he carried on none the less, only perking up when he felt a sudden alertness- as if something had stirred his wolf, and in a sense, it had. Now tugging at his attention his eyes scanned the area, searching for whatever the cause of the sudden caution was. Needless to say he was much more awake when he'd found it. He wasn't sure if he was surprised or not. 'Soon' had come a lot, uh, sooner than he'd expected. The last visit time had been dragged out a bit at least, Damon's absence this time had only gone for a matter of days. Well, that was something he supposed, feeling his prior weariness wear right off him.

Leon's took a step back when Nathin opened his eye with something far past annoyance, and he thought he was about to be mauled when the glance cooled and he turned his head. It should have been his cue for him to go, but he didn't....not before trotting to the side where the other wolf had laid his head that time and speaking again. "You know, I hate to bother you, but is that position - its paining me, and I'm not even laying like it, he pointed out, sitting back on his haunches as he waited for a reply. If he was being honest, he would have said that he was getting back for the earlier nuisances he'd had to deal with - role reversal indeed in this case. It wasn't as if he had anything else to do, it was late in the afternoon and he'd finished with everything pressing for that matter.

------

"Hey....Busy?" Damon asked when Quinton had come into range of hearing, and he wrapped his left hand around the railing by the side of the steps, keeping his other hand where it was as he looked at the other. The sunlight made the older wolf's eyes seem impossibly lighter than they already were, the blue tinted to almost white as he held the teen's gaze. He did look a bit out of place there, what with his dark clothing and the obvious appearance that struck him out from being one of the students himself, despite the fact that Damon looked younger than he actually was, but then there was the fact that he'd never fitted in anyway, anywhere he was for that matter. He wasn't going to complain about it, at least, he didn't think like a sheep, he didn't need to look like the rest of them either.

Nathin let out a small breath, he should've known, the one time he just wanted to sleep this one actually wanted to talk "Then go look at something else." He muttered, stretching further under himself in an attempt to hide from the other. At this point he was basically halfway under himself and might as well have been break his spine and anything that was anatomatically correct- this was not to say he felt as though he was doing any of that rather he was sheilding himself from the other wolf and would break the bounds of the wolf skeletal's possibilities more if he had to despite that it was, if anything, uncomfortable. Then again, he wondered just how far he could stretch...Another day, maybe, would be a good time to attempt that.

"Not particularly." Quinton muttered, feeling as though he was going to be asked another question or maybe more of an offer he wasn't sure. He'd eased up, in the slightest, whether it was because of his unnaturally quiet week or if because of this 'new start., but he had. It was obvious he wasn't as alive as he could've been, no those days were the times where he was a walking Christmas tree, wagging tail and giant grins included, but he was certainly awake. There was some sort of light behind the hazel eyes had some source of light behind them, but they were nothing compared to the others. Which, for the record, were seemingly rimmed white- and why he noticed this he would rather not question. Not right now, at least, as the slightest bit of curiosity pricked at the edges of his mind.

Leon winced, watching the other curl up under himself. He debated leaving him alone again, but decided to attempt to get the other to talk again, which would mean he'd have to unravel himself, and stop causing pain to Leon's eyeballs. Because that was exactly what he was doing, and it was giving him shivers - if he wen't any further under, he was afraid the wolf''s spine was going to pop...lovely images, just lovely. Not.

"Will you at least tell me what has you so compliant with having your back stretched like a rubber band and unwilling to annoy the innocent stranger?" Leo cocked his head, nudging at Nathan with a paw again, watching the other's reaction with his amber gaze.

----------

"Well, I had a shit weekend honestly, and I'm feeling the need to do something...fun," he decided, blinking up at the other hopefully, as Quinton stood above him on the steps for a change. He wouldn't be all that surprised if the other said no - he wouldn't even have been surprised if the teen had flat out scoffed at him either. Despite the words said last time, Damon knew that he'd obviously have to prove himself, and he oddly enough excepted that without the other having to tell him or indicate it an anyway, because he already wanted to. Plus, he was trying to avoid his packmates for a time. A rather disturbing piece of information involving the movement of the hunters down south had been brought to his attention, and he had reiterated how how planned to deal with them if they ever did end up here. A way that would benefit his pack, yes, but probably not end well for him. He may have been an asshole, but he wasn't going to sacrifice his wolves for his own mistakes - even if it wasn't directly his fault - not now, not ever. Of course, Jason didn't like it, and to him it wasn't a needed sacrifice apparently, which of course, Damon hadn't wanted to deal with the lecture from so he had left without him knowing. He needed something to do however, something that didn't make him want to pang his skull into a wall, and he'd thought of Quinton - something he'd been doing a lot of lately.

"Was going to go for a ride...wouldn't mind company, honestly, not yours anyhow."

Nathin didn't unstretch himself rather turned his neck so that his muzzle poked out from under him "I've got seventy five wolves to make for and only two months to do it, which given the fact that customs will be fucked for about six months after that- I'd rather break my spine, or neck." He said, which was more or less true but he wasn't sure if death would be any easier, or more free than his current situation so hell, he really couldn't work with that much either. What an annoyance. His neck was straining now from turning so far with all that pressure on it. If he turned it any more it might break, that said, he pulled his head out from under him, rolling to his stomach to shake himself off.

Quinton debated it, curious as to what had made the others week such shit but he certainly wasn't going to ask. It wasn't his business any ways, but if he skipped out on going home- if that was even a thing. Skipping out on home. Hm, one way to put it. But none the less, he could already tell what Alex was going to do if he didn't return home on time. She'd freak, but ten to one, Nathin wouldn't be there for her to tell, and she was a fighter not a hunter, her tracking skills were shit he knew that much and by this time Nathin wouldn't be back until early morning, late, late night. Where ever the other went now adays was beyond Quinton's guessing and he wasn't one to follow the man around to figure out just where it was he was running off to, after all. This aside, and all things considered, he could- ten to one, be late home and make the excuse that he simply couldn't stand not taking a walk through the town, it'd been a while since and certainly it could be a valid reason. Glancing towards the tree tops he turned his gaze back to the other "I've got time." He admitted, and, fair enough even if he didn't he would find it- no, he was finding it.

"What? Seventy five - what even - I can't even - urghhhhhhh..." Leon groaned, digging his claws into the ground on his front paws, his tail lashing twice irritably. "Do I even want to know why? Am I going to have five more of you taking up my lawn?" he added as an afterthought, snickering at the image. Great. More of them - and since he apparently had a sign taped to his back directing every Alpha in the area to mess with him, he was sufficiently now dreading winter. He collapsed forward into the grass, stretching out before resting his own head on his paws in an expression that accurately depicted how very 'done' he was.

--------

Damon lit up, eyebrow raised at the answer, but he wasn't going to waste it that was for damn sure. He grinned, reaching forward and grabbing Quinton's wrist, lightly tugging him across the blacktop, making for his bike. "Ever been on one?" He asked, gesturing to it as they neared. He guessed that the other hadn't, probably not because he wouldn't have enjoyed it but probably because he didn't need to...or was never allowed to. First thing he did when he reached it was offer Quinton the black helmet he'd brought with him - Damon himself didn't usually wear it , but he didn't know if the other would appreciate such dangerous freedom, and he couldn't help but snicker at the thought.

Nathin growled lowly "No this spot is mine, I'll rip their throats if they try. They'll be staying at the house." He muttered "You shouldn't be the one groaning, you'll never see them. Your only problems seem to lie with the other." Nathin said, yawning as his jaw unhindged for a moment then closed, and he was only going off the sickening scent he'd found on Leo when he last saw him. Licking his fangs he blinked lazily, staring into the distance, it was getting dark...Maybe his patients wouldn't mind if he skipped work tonight..? They'd be fine right? Surely he could stay here and rest a little longer, as he usually left around this time but- maybe just for tonight...

Quinton opened his mouth to question on what exactly, and then he saw it. Well, he'd never seen one so he certainly couldn't say he'd rode one, but his expression spoke for him as his wonder filled eyes traced every inch of the vehicle. Well, it wasn't a car, but he assumed it worked just the same, just not... Enclosed... Or as safe. Well, he figured the other wouldn't get them killed, or rather hoped he wouldn't. Preferably, at least. He looked down only when he was given a helmet. Ahh, there was the protection. A helmet, though he doubted would save you from a torso crushing accident, would surely keep him from head injury. He took it gladly, better safe than sorry, as they say.

Oooookk, someone's territorial...typical Alpha, Leon thought to himself, before grumbling audibly at the other's second comment. "Oh don't even bother bringing him up. I'm on your land, he can't get to me, I doubt he even cares. It's his damn fault I'm an Omega anyway," he sniffed, his tail still twitching slightly in irritation. He'd been trying to avoid the topic rising in his own mind, but it was seemingly unavoidable. He sighed, blinking before asking what he hadn't dared to previously. "So...he loves here then. How do you know him? He never told me about his live before me, really. I never asked, but now..."

-------

Damon straddled the sleek black vehicle, revving the engine and chuckling as his music blasted through the speakers. He turned it down, before looking up at Quinton pointedly, gesturing for him to get on with him. As much as the older werewolf appreciated the genius of Eminem, he supposed it would probably do nothing but get on the other's nerves - he didn't seem like the type to like the rapid fire rounds of laced profanity telling the story of a guy more pissed off than he was. It amused him however - the song that had come on pretty much paralleled him...

"Come on, I swear you won't fall off...as long as you hold on tight enough," he said, winking at the other. He knew exactly where he was going - if there was something he could appreciate about the area, it was the numerous amounts of backroads that there were around it, unlike the city. No cops either...could move as fast as he wanted to.

"You mean other than the fact he ate my uncle inside out then took a pack of his own and is now infamous for the amount of killing he does? Mm, that's the only reason I know him. I avoid all contact if possible." Nathin said, obviously settling back down for the amount of casual he was putting into that reply as he laid his head back down on his paws. Yes he remembered the story, he'd been told by his father as a warning. A warning of just what Damon could be capable of. It was for his own good so he wouldn't become arrogant and think himself enough to fight him. It was one of the main reasons he avoided fights with Damon, that man knew damn well what he could do, what he could unleash- Nathin still wasnt sure just what he could become. What he would become, and sometimes... Sometimes it was what bothered him most.

Quinton felt awkward, to say the utmost least, when he held on. Needless to say he didn't know he'd be death gripping the other when they actually got up to speed, but that wasn't now, it would be though- soon. Never having been on something so open it was obvious he didn't know what to expect and it was all humorous that what it contained exactly was what he hadn't expected, and that was the best part. Just...Maybe not for him, exactly. If he was correct, and he was if you wanted to be vague, these mechenisms- if he could call them that, were named motorcycles. Little did he know the different kinds or perks, maybe something he'd learn later on, he'd only know the name due to the rare times he actually branched out and read something other than his precious historical fiction.

Leon blinked, then sighed, rolling his eyes, brushing off the entire statement. "Look, I get it, he'd your rival and all and you like to trash eachother regardless of whatever out there crap you can throw back and forth but...I'm just trying to figure somethings out. Why he left - a mere month after I gave myself to him, the bond was stronger than ever and he just leaves. Just tells me not to look for him and to break the bond because it meant...nothing...I don't know. Maybe it's stupid but if knowing about the life he never showed me would give me some direction here..." He stopped, shaking his head, unmoving as he closed his eyes and breathed out slowly. "I'm sorry, you probably don't want to hear this. But I can't help the wondering, not after he told me he loved me, not after he told me he would never leave."

--------

Damon noted the uneasiness emanating from the other as the teen wrapped his arms around, and he sighed, pulling out. One of two things could happen that he was currently predicting to - first was that Quinton would be scared shitless at his 'reckless driving' habits, or second, he could actually end up loosening up a bit. He was hoping for the later, mainly because he didn't wand hand marks on his favorite leather jacket. And speaking of... "That's not going to work you know," Damon mused, reaching down and taking Quinton's wrists and moving them forward a bit so that his hands were holding on to his shirt rather than the open lapels of the outerwear. He wasn't going to lie to himself - the thump of Quinton's chest against his own back when he had pulled the teen forward was in a few words, extremely satisfying indeed. "Now...just don't let go," He added, glancing back at the other before looking forward again with a grin. With that taken care of, he started off, having no qualms about shooting out of the lot like a complete maniac and heading for the road that would eventually lead out of the town.

Nathin's eyes opened a little wider, but he quickly shook it off, he- it wasn't his business.

But damn it that was... Low. Very low. So Damon also was terrible at relationships. Figures, man probably didnt want to slit his own love's throat. Disgusting. Nathin wasn't the most compassioniate he knew that much, he'd never felt anything higher than a sibling like bond, and maybe his father hadn't been the best teacher in that area, but his mother taught him better. He doubted, really, that he would ever have a mate- but in the event that he would she'd raised him better than that... And maybe Leo and him had something in common, they both didn't know too much about Damon's past and just what exactly chewed him up and spit him back out as the monster everyone saw him as. Heros and villans weren't born, they were made. Though, it tugged at Nathin's mind the same it did Leo's, just what had driven Damon down that path. This bond, it wasn't to be taken lightly, something human's 'marriage' couldn't compare to. Well, it wasn't his job to let the other in on his old mate's life, especially if he wouldn't believe him. Oh yes, he'd heard that little tone of his, saw those eyes role. This... Belief he had, no this hate for alphas, it made Nathin feel sick to be one. Just what kind of rank had he stepped into? What kind of example had those before set? He'd never come across this unless it was the rivaling pack, but that was obvious why. Leo's reasons? Unknown, but it didn't make Nathin feel anymore prideful about his position.

Quinton blinked when his hands were moved, but it was easier told hold on, at least. He blinked in surprise when they shot out, his hands twitching a bit, debating if he would fall or not- he did not. The town had a simple straight road, only turning when it made a complete circle in the subdivision, but from what he could tell they were not heading for the subdivision. While they were on a simple road, however, despite Damon's less than desired driving skills, Quinton did his best to get a feel for the actual movement of the machine. Needless to say he couldn't do this clutching onto the other like they were on the highway to hell, and it was making his hands sore to hold on so tightly. Not say he let go, no, but he wasn't crushing the other's torso anymore at least. He glanced off to the side, looking around as the scenery as it became a blur, he could barely tell what something's were. Well, this wasn't too bad, he supposed, he hadnt died yet. A definate plus.

"Nice going....Now I'm just as drained as you are," Leon muttered, though he wasn't really upset with the other for bringing the topic up now. What the man had said was nagging at him for some small, probably insignificant reason, but he himself had pushed the words aside as if they'd never been said. He could never believe that Damon would do something of the sort...he knew the man could be bloodthirsty, yes, but never...monstrous to that degree. It would be completely and utterly inhumane....and Leon thought he had fixed that, fairly well. It was the man's tortured humanity that he had been drawn to in the first place, he'd basically taught the other how to feel again, and to his knowledge, he'd been fine. He'd been able to love...something you had to feel, not pretend to create a bond. No he couldn't accept what Nathin said, only because he knew what he once felt was real, even if it was all but gone now. For now however, he just needed to think about nothing, he needed peace, for once. He rolled over, pressing his flank to Nathin's, mumbling something about the cold before letting his own elf doze off, letting his mind stay quiet for once.

This was not good. In fact, this was very very bad, and he needed for his friend to not be a dick right now and answer his cell phone - which of course, he never did...

Jason gritted his teeth and pocketed the phone, the anger evident. He'd tracked the man down this far, of course to find Damon's scent mingled with another, no doubt that wolf from the Luna pack. So the other had refused to take his advice and had actually taken off with the other wolf to god knows where with a hunter on their land, leaving Jason to fume in the parking lot of some random high school. Amber had warned him if he lost sight of Damon he'd disappear, and look what had happened...he'd be getting an earful for that later of course.

Damon swerved the moment they'd left the town, staying close but veering of the path into unclaimed territory as he sped across the now dirt road, mindful of the trees and their leaves hanging overhead. The fallen leaves littered the ground on either side colorfully, the marks of fall evident on the land just as much as the weather was. He slowed when they reached a straight stretch, just enough so that he could her himself speak - and think for that matter. "You ok?" He asked, glancing back again at the other, who had loosened his grip, but looked plenty intrigued with the entire thing really. He supposed that was a plus, that he wasn't being called a bat shit crazy lunatic, and that Quinton wasn't yet freaking out about not even being within the town's limits. He wasn't going to go far, not really, but he liked it out here. "I won't go far, I promise. But it's better than being choked by territorial limits every ten minutes isn't it?"

Nathin grunted at his comment, raising his head to look up at the sky, squinting into it as it slowly became darker, they were slipping into the later hours of the afternoon. Already...He didn't have to be home until very late, or very early depending on how you looked at it. He had all the time in the world, to sleep that is. His ears flicked, hearing the other shift, glancing over when he moved- ah, so then he was going to sleep, too. Good. Then there would be no more botherments throughout the night. Hopefully. He yawned, for a second time, letting out an odd noise that came out almost inaudibly before he settled back down into a nice warmth that he'd gathered whilst he'd been laying there. He'd been there for hours, by now, and what sucked the most was knowing this wouldn't last. He wouldn't be here everyday for long, as Fall was officially making it's self at home and they had so much work to do. Fall would be nothing but a blur, just like the last days of him napping here- and then it would be an on and off sort of thing for six months after until everything was set in stone. Even then he wouldn't, couldn't, be sure if he could carry on with his usual routine after that. Well, no use worrying about it now. He closed his eyes and nestled back to sleep, dreamless per-usual.

He was late. SO late. She'd given up the idea that he'd been held after school by now and she'd left camp not too long ago to go in search for him. Pulling her hoodie tighter on herself she zipped it up as she made her way towards the school. Her and Nathin knew the way there from any single point on their territory or in town, for good reason mind anyone. The school was out, down, she knew that much but on the chance that he might've still been lingering there, Alex needed to make sure he either was or wasn't. Thing was, he wasn't there, but ohhh the thing was, someone else was. She'd been skeptical, she'd squinted, but then she caught the scent. She was no hunter but even behind that rivaling mask of a smell she could never forget that one particular scent. No. No absolutely not. Her first instinct was to turn right around, ignore it completely. This was none of her business. Not anymore.

"Hm?" Quinton looked up at Damon's first question, focusing in to catch his second, chuckling when he heard it "I suppose you could say that, yes." It reminded him of Alex's never ending yearn to leave the town. He knew his own pack's take on it, yet, he wondered how Damon felt about the question. How anyone in their pack would think about it. Their constant fighting was over one thing, mundanes, the town to be spesific, but take that away- the town that was, and what did it really matter? His own pack only cared about the humans of the town because they found it their job to protect them having lived there for generations, but, if they didn't have that to quarrel over then what would be of them? If Nathin had no interest in other humans, if they didn't care what the other pack did, just where would they stand? Would they still be on such a differentiating eye-level or might they finally be looking at eachother head on...It was something that brought up so many questions but when it was like this, peaceful, out of town- the problems seemed to melt away, and with it, the tension.

Jason was about to leave, he was getting cold and he was getting anxious - Damon wasn't here and it looked like he wasn't going to be back, so there was no reason for him to linger there way after hours of the school being in session. He turned, breathing out slowly as he tried to not let his anxiety get to him for the sake of appearances when h did get back to the house. The wind blew lightly, giving the illusion that it was more chilly than it actually was, paired with the fast retreating sun in the sky above. It would be dark soon he supposed, and he did not want to be out in the open with a hunter in his midst...no matter how young the figure had looked to him. These people were dangerous. He began walking away with folded arms, his fingers at his sides trying to get warmth as he'd forgotten his jacket, when he caught sight of the figure approaching, who had slowed considerably upon seeing him. He knew who it was by scent and by action the moment he noticed, and he turned towards her. "Lex? What are you..."

---------

Damon smiled, leaning his head back a fraction and letting the wind blow past his face and through his hair when they came through an opening in the trees and to a shimmering body of water with the road weaving around it, outlining the river as they rode alongside it. He slowed down more as they got to a certain point, before stopping altogether and cutting the motor. He stepped off, running a hand through his now messy hair before settling his eyes back on Quinton. "Alright, I just want to show you this one thing before we go...wouldn't want you to banned to that five foot circle would we?" He chuckled, and held out his right hand to the other, with his left still in his pocket. He was surprisingly grateful that Quinton had accepted his offer when he'd asked, and he actually did enjoy the other's company immensely, and he owed him. Jason had refused to ever get into or onto any vehicle that Damon was driving due to a very unfortunate Venice car chase a while back, and he never felt complete in the freedom he got from it unless he had someone to share it with. Someone who appreciated it just as he did. He'd started valuing his freedom, as false as it may have been sometimes ever since he had nearly lost it all. He'd never take it for granted again. He may have literally been manufactured to be a monster, but they hadn't been able to take away his emotions, and right now, he was keen on letting the human part of him have it's time.

Alex blew a huff of air out through her nose, so. Fucking. Close. There was still time to walk away, but that hint of question in his voice would nag at her, she only turned halfway and didn't dare make eye contact- waving him off "Nothing nothing, just looking around." She muttered, not too keen on mentioning that her impatience had gotten the best of her once again. In fact, what if Quinton was already home and she was wasting her time here? That was...Probably likely. Surely. Or maybe she was just looking for a reason to slip out of the situation like she'd done with so many other things. Jason had take his own route and he her's, made his own choices and she chose off her own preferences. Rules were rules and she didn't care to break them, even if that was just an excuse to avoid talking to her sibling. What had once been a simple daily task, which was years ago, was now an uncomfortable muse for her and she certainly wasn't expecting to stumble upon it any time soon- nor had she wanted to.

Quinton blinked, examining their current change of enviroment once they'd started slowing to a stop. He hadn't ever thought much outside of the town, and maybe that was because of his own shrouded mind from being held inside the 'cage' for so long. Right now, this didn't apply, and he let his mind wander of the seemingly endless landscape for just that moment. He removed the helmet, not bothering with his hair as he got a clearer view of the mountains in the distance, the mass amount of unexplored woodland, the seemingly painted sky as the sun was beginning to set above them coloring even them as it's light stretched into the distance. He got off, following the other, puffing his cheeks slightly at his comment, oh har har. He swallowed the air, accepting the offered hand as he opened his mouth "And what would that be?" He questioned, curious as to what possible extent the other could further his memory in images of outside their little, quaint town. He would have to memorize it best he could, now, Quinton wasn't the best artist in the world but sometimes he liked to sketch out things he'd imagined from books or simply the area in general. He wasn't bad, he certainly wasn't, but he wasn't the best either. This, however, he wouldn't want to mess up on. Not at all.
