Fantasy Slayers: Modern Maniacs

"Normally I'd say kick his ass...but he's not worth that, I suppose. Plus, he's your dad...he undoubtedly loves you Takao...just....I don't know." She said, not good in these types of situations but willing to listen.

Takao jolts his head up looking at her. "Loves me!? Hes said hes hated me almost all of my life, him and my mom would fight about me all the time. He always says that I was an accident and wishes I was never born. Then Shizuko Hio had to come and" he slams his fist on the table "Kill my mother and leave me with that asshole forever!" Takao stands and is furious. "I'm going to the library to sleep.." Kids all over the room are staring at him after he had slammed his fist on the table.

Jane sighed. "Fine then, just go." She said, knowing he needed to be alone...she was kind of sorry for trying to say something positive. It was clear in her voice. She stood after him and collected her things, her secret Slayer notebook in hand. "I've got work to do, I'll catch ya later." She said, walking out of the cafeteria before him, all eyes still on the both of them.
She walked out of the cafeteria, walking quickly to anywhere else. Not the library, Takao needed to me alone, and he was going there...and Jane felt like he was pissed at her fro bringing up something she probably shouldn't have. She then walked to Mr. Grey's room. It was empty, as usual during lunch. Jane picked her desk to sit at, the desk from class she'd been sitting in since school started a few weeks back. She pulled out her notebook, and flipped through its pages. Scanning and piecing together what she had collected, she tried to get a lead on the dark mages to no avail. Dark mages were impossible to trace, it was pointless...they'd never fought one, and she didn't think they'd want to.

Conner was outside, a good book in hand. He hadn't done much over the week, just kill monsters and noobs a like. The most exciting thing that happaned to him was that he got his driver's license and his parent surprised him by giving a classic black and yellow muscle car. You could safely say that he did not drive it to school, he didn't trust many of the students, but talked about it non-stop and drove it around in his free time. What an odd sight it must be to see an obvious nerd driving around a classic muscle car that would make most other guys jealous.

(Morning! @Huntrey @Beowulf @MysticPisces @KroNicc115 @CloudKitteh )

Jane glanced around Mr. Grey's empty classroom, figuring he'd been in the teacher's lounge eating lunch. She went over more strategy for battle, thinking she, Takao and Luke were the best ones to charge into a fight, while Amelia, Terra and Conner stayed back, only fighting if they had to. She saw them as support roles...brains, really, not bronze. She sighed alone in the room, going over strategy for the next big fight over and over again.

Luke entered the classroom, and to no surprise Jane was the only one there. "Ah, how's my ray of sunshine?". He walked over to her nonchalantly, taking the usual seat in front of her. The class was empty so Luke sat on the desk facing her, letting his eyes meet hers. "Would like to do the usual and see the scar?" Jane and Luke now had a round one, looking at his scar for any new werewolf features. Conner had recommended it, probably just to keep him from forgetting about it.

"Luke, I don't know what 'usual' you're talking about, and right now, I'm going crazy trying to think of a strategy for the next fight." Jane said to him, bothered he wasn't focusing on this, too. For some reason ever since the werewolf fight...she's been intensely focused on finding the wolf again, as well as the dark mages.

Three long weeks had passed since the football game and the werewolf attack. For Amelia, it was a blur. Not because it went by so quickly, but because she endured what seemed to be the same tedium day after day. School and anything extra-curricular seemed to be a waste of time now. The Slayers had been finding new enemies to face constantly, and they were making their appearance in front of the public, no less. Sooner or later, these occasional sightings were going to be noticed by somebody and no longer passed off as crazy tabloid nonsense. The Slayers were becoming much busier with their duties and everything else seemed to be of little import.

During lunch at school, Amelia usually did her homework so that she could free up some of her time afterwards to focus on Slayer business. It was becoming increasingly more difficult to do this as the assignments got longer or more complicated and time consuming. Geometry was killing her slowly. It wasn't difficult to grasp, but she found having to do proofs particularly frustrating because the answer was right there and basic understandings of geometric theories, rules, and corollaries made the problems laughably easy, yet still time-consuming.

It was during one of these proofs that Amelia found herself thinking about the voice that spoke inside her head in that strange dream she had that fateful night at the football game. Those types of dreams seemed to creep into her sleep more and more often as time went on. She hadn't done any magic or even attempted since the failure at the game, but she sure did think about it. How could she not? It was life changing. Even if the spell had failed, she had evoked the arcane. There must have been some power within her, but what was the cost? Instead of asking Mr. Grey or putting up with the tremendous amount of flak he would have given her had she mentioned it, Amelia was ignoring it as best she could. Instead of flak from her teacher, she was getting disturbing dreams. It seemed a reasonable price, and completely logical.

Amelia looked up from her work at the sound of Takao slamming his fist on the table in an outburst. "Here we go again," she said under breath, rolling her eyes and returning to her geometry. She wasn't particularly fond of the boy, even though they were both Slayers and spent what seemed like most of their time together. He was always making a scene and being the center of attention, even if he said he didn't want to be. So he had a bad situation at home. He would get no sympathy from Amelia. Perhaps he could just find a better solution than being angry all the time.

"You worry about this too much, the wolf hasn't appeared for three weeks so I'm pretty sure Amelia's magic finished him." Luke said, losing the happiness in his voice. She did worry about this too much, and Luke was getting tired of it. Yes, Slayers was something that they would have to live with for some time, but they didn't have to focus on it every second of every day.

"All I know for certain is that there's a wolf on the loose, along with several more, undead are still rising, dark mages are becoming more of a threat, and innocent people have died...I can't think about much else. Not to mention there are still the other beats out there that are tailored to the others." Jane explained, buried in her notebook.

Heading to the library Takao stops and leans against a locker holding his head. "What is wrong with me..why can't I get over this.." An image of shizuko hio popped into his head and he hit the locker he was facing. "No!" Get out of my head you animal..you can't control my thoughts anymore..

Jane ignored Luke (@Huntrey ) more, studying ways to go about future battles. deciding on how to kill enemies in faster methods, looking over where all sightings of everything have occurred. Being a Slayers was awesome to her...but it was slowly destroying her.
She then got up, collected her things, thinking about what Luke said. "I can't worry too much...not when all this shit's going on." Jane said, starting to walk out of the room.

Closing his book, Conner begins to stare off into space. Now, he was thinking. So far, they haven't encountered any arachnid beasts, thank goodness for that. But it was only a matter of time. He wondered what he would be able to do. Summon a giant fly swatter and quickly kill them? That would be nice and to good to be true. But still, what would happen to him? Luke became a super strong bad ass that could take several werewolves up close and personal, and Jane basically became a ninja.

Jane walked out of Grey's room, passing him in the hallway and giving him a small and casual wave, and he gave her one back. Mr. Grey and Jane had developed that weird bond a student and teacher can have, calling them selves...friends, maybe? That, and he's been guiding her in monster-killing. He was a father figure to her, afterall, her father was currently serving his country elsewhere. She looked up to him, both as a mentor and a teacher.

"Jane come on, stop worrying and come back in here." Luke followed her out, bumping Mr. Grey on the way out. "Sorry Grey." He said nonchalantly.

"S'alright." Mr. Grey responded to Luke, smiling as he entered his classroom. Jane went down the hall. She walked outside into the schoolyard.

Luke followed, hitting the door as he tried to catch her. "Owww, Jane, will you stop and talk to me?" His voice sounded annoyed, for she was always thinking about "strategies" never about herself.

Takao noticed as the two walked out of the room. He was still leaning against the locker and then had an idea. Mr. Grey can help me find her..I need to kill her.. He collected himself and threw is bag on his back and headed over to Mr. Grey's room. Walking in it was kind of empty.

Takao trudged over to his desk and kept his head down. Not acknowledging a greeting or anything he breathed heavily and exhaled with his question. "Shizuko Hio..Vampire..Do you know her..You have to know her.."

"You need to stop obsessing over this Jane, we will find the mage and wolf, but you not taking care of yourself won't help." He was very annoyed, but viewing her like this made him calm again, trying to appeal to her.

"Ms. Hio is the head of the vampire clan in Hilltown...she's very powerful, yet very illusive. I've not been able to track her in years." mr. Grey said to Takao. "Why, how do you know her?"

Jane scoffed. "Innocent people were killed in a 'mysterious' fire. We know dark mages caused it...I watched a man get blown up by a flaming gas can, I'm not obsessing! You're just too stupid to see that I'm the only one who's taking this whole thing seriously!" She exclaimed. Jane didn't mean it...but she'd been stressing herself so much, that it was driving her crazy. It wasn't her fault.

"Ms. Hio..as you casually call her..was responsible for killing my mother and ruining my life! Thats our next mission..we need to find her now and finish this, I can't sleep at night, My father won't leave me the hell alone. He abuses me ever since she killed my mom. I need to avenge her..then I can stick it to my father like I should have years ago..Please Mr. Grey.." Takao drops to his knees.

Catching the tail end of the conversation, Conner looks up and sees both Jane and look. 'Speak, or in this case think, of the devil.' he thought to himself before getting their attention. "Oi! Both of you, come here so I can tell you something."
