Fantasy Slayers: Modern Maniacs

Jane wandered in an unknown part of the Pit. Everything going on was getting to her...an unconscious ally, two others not nearby, a loose werewolf, dark mages running about...and she had a test on Monday. That last part was the cherry on top of the 'life sucks' sundae. The part of the Pit she was in was unknown...totally foreign to her. It was dark, quiet, even cold. The hallway seemed to go on forever, she felt like she was in a straight maze...as weird as that sounds. She crossed her arms as she glanced around, old paintings and other assorted decorations covered the walls. All a piece of Slayer history, perhaps.

Jane seemed not to notice Terra's soft mumbles. To be honest, no one had noticed her as they wandered in the Pit.

"Jane.." she called out weakly, unsure if the other girl would hear her.

Jane and Terra continued down the dark and old hallway, stumbling upon a room with an old door, covered in dust and looking abandoned. "Well..time to explore, I guess." Jane said and opened the dusty door. It creaked and slowly moved with Jane's arm.

"So, where might we find some wolfs bane, just in case. A small enough dose would just give him a severe case of diarrhea." Conner whispered to Amelia, not wanting to wake the unconscious Slayer.

(I know I'm posting OOC in IC but still, I hate this new update, it's got everything all mixed up and lost and spaced...ermergerd it sucks. Can't even find the OOC thread! Okay...got it off my chest, back to Slayers!)

(Wow. I've had super bad luck with this site recently. Every time I go to post, it has been down for repairs or whatnot. So aggrivating, but I think it's stable for the time being. I've literally written this next post about four times now.)

Amelia tapped her lips with a finger, thinking. "Monkshood is another name for wolfsbane," she announced. "It's actually a common flower in gardening, despite the fact that it is pretty lethal," she continued. "There's got to be a nursery or flower shop somewhere around here that would have it. Or perhaps we know someone that has it in their garden," she thought aloud, trying to remember where she might have seen it last. She could see the purple, bulbous flowers in her head, but not where it might have been.

Luke was going in and out of sleep, "Oh we already killed the wolf, we don't need wolfsbane Amelia. Gosh, you act like someone got bit or something.". He then looked over at the two, both lost in their train of thought.

Jane walked in the room with Terra, now she stood in this old, dusty room, filled with artifacts and portraits of...past Slayers? She looked at them all, each of them looking mighty and tall, proud to be who they were.

It's 2014. The current year. Modern times have passed monsters on as myths, legends, all make-believe. But little do they know that the creatures that go bump in the night are very real. It's been years since the last band of Slayers were brought together.

A form of peace has covered the world for the past few centuries. Vampires, werewolves, other undead, spirits, and all other...monstrous things have lurked in the shadows for all that time. Now, they've arisen and will try to take over the world, and they will make the humans remember why they're supposed to fear them. They feel as though they should be more than just nightmares, they should be considered REAL threats. Because they are.

Only one thing seems odd...the Slayers, destined to save the world...are mere high school students. And they're the most unlikely heroes. Not even friends, really. Totally unaware of what destiny lies before them.

"Bitten, scratched. Both contain a chance of infection." Conner said, unconsiously waving off Luke's comment. "Monkshood, where might have seen that. There may be some naturally growing in the wild."

Luke reached to slug Conner, but his arm went limp on the side of table, still too tired to make the effort. "What idiot got scratched?" He said very condescendingly.

"Easy there. We could be wrong, but better safe then sorry. And it should be flushed out of your system before you know it." Conner said as he walked over and moved Luke's arm back onto the table. "And some rest would do you good. Don't make me get the sleeping club." He said, making an attempt at a joke.

"You and your silly club, I can't stand holding that thing. Goodnight my little nerdlet, I'll follow the genius' orders." He then turned over from the man, trying to do as he said on the hard table.

(@KroNicc115 @MysticPisces @Beowulf @Huntrey @CloudKitteh TIME LEAP!!!! I know, a few things are still going on, but I feel as though things need to move along...sorry. I'll include a basic general recap and you guys can add your own details in your posts. TIME LEAP - 3 WEEKS after the football game and werewolf attack. Things in town have been strange...regular people are now having sightings of the beasts the Slayers fight. Luke is fine now, only left with a scar from the werewolf fight. Speaking of which, the werewolf Amelia plant a 'tracer' on with magic has yet to be found again, oddly enough. Dark mages are making their presence well-known. Mr. Grey proves to be hiding something from the Slayers, but it's not too much of a concern. The Slayers have only fought a few more undead, a smaller band of werewolves with no trouble, and a couple ghouls and goblins throughout the city. So far, things have been easy. Everyone has gotten a little stronger/smarter as Slayers, the teens settling into everyday life as monster killers by night and high school students by day. It's now Wednesday in the RP, middle of the week, during lunch at Hilltown High.)

Jane walked into the cafeteria, dressed in a simple black shirt, decorated in strange yet cool designs and her usual black skinny jeans. She went through the line and got her food from the lunch lady, kindly thanking her and finding a place to sit. The only people she really cared about who had lunch with her with the other Slayers, yet she rarely sat with them. Why? Even Luke, and everyone knows something's between them, isn't someone she sits with normally. She found an empty table and sat at it, opening her milk and taking a drink before pulling out a notebook. It was black, of course, and full of non-school matters. A Slayer notebook, one she wrote in about all things...Slayerly.

She jotted down more and more information about the current situation: Werewolf on the loose, dark mages runnimg rampant, other wolves in packs around town, monsters still menacing, pick up bread after school...Okay, maybe the last one was something she wrote down when being reminded of what she promised her mom she'd do after school. Whoops.

Takao was asleep at a table down at the other end of the cafeteria, no food, just his back pack and him. After another sleepless night of running from his father the only place he could relax, well sort of, was at Hilltown high. Suddenly a tap on his shoulder had woken him up. he jumped and shook his head to look up and see his friend Yuki. "H-hey man what are you doing here?" Takao asked in a sleepy voice. "I came to make sure you were okay, Your dad was pretty livid last night and told me to have a 'talk' with you. I just came to make sure you were alive." His friend laughed. "Yea i'm ok, but hey, I'm gonna stay out tonight and try to find another place to stay, just so I can get a good night sleep." "Understood man, just be careful and you know where to find me" Yuki walks out of the school and back to his house. Takao stands up to go get food, walking toward the line he notices Jane by herself. He sits down next to her. "Hello our fearless female, How are you today?" He yawned after his question. His father would not leave him alone, He needed a place to stay, he figured asking the slayers would work, maybe he could crash for the night.

"Good, all things considered...you tired?" She asked, glancing up at him and back at her notebook, writing more about Slayer progress and possibly strategy. She wasn't really paying attention to Takao. He was her friend, and she did care for him, she was listening to him, she was just a little distracted.

He yawns again and sets his head down on the table. "Y..yea i'm a little tired..My dad had me up all night yel- I mean I had a lot of homework" Takao was so tired he didn't even realize he almost told Jane about his abusive father.

Jane placed a kind hand on his shoulder. "Takao...you're my friend, I care about you. You know you can talk to me, right?" She asked, glancing over at the jock table, as well as the preps.

Takao sighs and yawns again lifting his head up. "I'll make this as short as I can..I need a place to crash for a few days to get away from my dad..Ever since my mom died to..i'm not even gonna say..He has abused me and found was to beat me just for the hell of it. I wear these jackets all of the time, not for my own looks." He rolls up a sleeve to reveal bruises. "He did this..and there are a while lot more..I'm scared to go home at night. And when I do he always come to my friends house where i'm living to keep me up, I run away and stay out all night to keep away from him. I can't keep doing this." He sets his head in his arms on the table.

"I am living with him right now, my dad knows where he lives and will continue to bother me.." Takao sighs.
