Slam Dunk

Kyle headed off to his art class, excited for once. He had an excuse to draw anything, anything at all. That included Nyssa. Though he was not sure why, but he felt kind of excited for that. He noticed her staring at him in the hallway. He smirked to himself and shot her a wink and kept walking to art with a skip in his step.

Nyssa headed down to poetry class and on the way caught his wink which surprised her. Today they had to present a poem they had written in class. She took out the sheet of paper in which she had jotted down a poem yesterday night. She was hoping that the teacher wouldn't call her to recite this time because she didn't feel like sharing it with anyone. It was her secret. The boy was her secret and she wasn't ready to share it. She neatly places the poem in her English textbook and closes it.

Kyle smiled, walked towards his class. As soon as he was in his art class, he smiled, thinking about how to draw her. He put his stuff on the ground and got out a canvas. He took out a pencil and began to sketch her reading with a huge pile of books around her. His friend leaned over and smiled. "Have a new crush? Better not let Vivian figure that out."

Nyssa took her pen and opened her book. She suddenly wanted to write more and more. This time she made a poem about her feelings. The way her heart skips a beat every time he smiles, the warmth she feels when she thinks of him. The crazy eagerness to see him. The way she wanted to touch his hand one more time, this time to check if it fitted with hers. She didn't notice her teacher standing right behind her as she went on writing. "Looks like you've found your inspiration" the teacher whispered as he gave me a know-all smile and walked to someone else. She flushed at being caught but words were just flowing out of her. She suddenly understood why poets wrote so much about love. When a simple crush could make her go so crazy, obviously love would be even more crazier she thought

Kyle smiled, picking out colors. "She must be a Hottie to grab your attention." He joked. Kyle smirked and pressed the pain brush onto his cheek, smiling at him.

Nyssa enjoyed this hour as she had written 2 poems this hour. Finally the hour drew to an end. She picked up her bag and headed out to the playground, the place where she usually had her lunch because she wasn't brave enough to go into the cafeteria. She sat on one of the wooden benches, looking at the janitor cleaning out the ground so that games can be played later that evening.

Kyle walked out of his art class with pain smeared on his face. His friend had gotten him back for the paint spot on his face. The painting was still in the art room since he had yet to finish, but he really wanted to finish. He walked to his locker and picked up his lunch. He was about to go to the cafeteria when he realized he would have to face his friends. He made a sharp u turn and walked towards the playground, going to eat on one of the benches there.

Nyssa took out the food from her bad and was about to unwrap it when she saw Kyle walking towards the playground. She looked at him closer and saw the paint on his face. "Looking Colorful" she shouted loud enough for him to hear, her voice filled with amusement and laughter.

Kyle chuckled, seeing a someone on the bench, who happened to be the person he drew in class, not that he would ever tell her. "Yeah. My friend was bothering me in art so I drew on his face, and he got me back." He explained, sitting next to him.

Nyssa chuckles. "Well your friend seems to be a wonderful artist" she said with a smirk. "I take it that you're here because you didn't want anyone to see that?" She pointed to the paint as she spoke.

Kyle shook his head and laughed. "Actually, it's more my clingy girlfriend. I can never even catch my breath. It's almost like she is stalking me." He said, shivering.

Nyssa couldn't help but frown when he spoke about his girlfriend. Right! He has a girlfriend. How could he not? And how could she have forgotten about it? She heaved a sigh as she opened a sandwich. "Well! If she's scaring you so much, then why are you with her?" She asks as she offers him her sandwich.

Kyle smiled and took the sandwich, taking a bite. "Give my regards to who made these, there good." He said, smiling. Once he had swallowed, he rested his elbows on his knees. "She is creepy obsessive, and until I find another girl to make her get the right message that I moved on, she will never stop annoying me."

Nyssa smiled at his words "Why thank you and Welcome" she giggled. "I made the sandwich and I'm glad you like it" she nodded as she took a bite. "Ahan! Why don't you try telling her that what she's doing is wrong? What if you don't find another girl who catches your interest till you finish the school? Will you bear her until then?"

Kyle groaned. 'I have tried doing that before. She gets emotional and then a weekend later, it is like it never happened." He said, taking another bite of the sandwich.

Nyssa chuckled "That's too bad. Why don't you ask someone to pretend to be your girlfriend for a while. I know that at least half of the girls in this school are waiting for that chance" she grins. "You can get her off your back and fulfill the fairy tale dream of another infatuated poor girl" she said teasing him.

Kyle shrugged. 'Everyone is afraid of Vivian. I have yet to meet someone who is not afraid of her." he said. If he where to ask anyone, it would probably be her. But she probably only though of him as a friend.

Nyssa looks at him with concern. She wanted to help him, but she can't do that without him asking her to do so, and why would he ask her of all people? It was a privilege that he was even talking to her. "I'm not afraid of Vivian" she muttered under her breathe.

Kyle smiled. "Well then." He said, setting down his sandwich and taking her hands softly in his. He could feel a jolt run though his body, which was strange. That never happened with Vivian. He smiled up at her. "Would you do the honors of being my fake girlfriend so I can get that girl to move on?" He asked.

Nyssa hadn't expected him to hear her words and was shocked when he took her hand. Her heart started racing, and she could feel the faint blush on her cheeks. 'Damn! If only this was a real proposal' she wished. She looked him in the eye as his hand held hers tight. She could feel his soft skin warming her hands. "Uhh. Yes!.... I.I mean why not?" She shrugged.

Kyle smiled, rubbing his thumb reassuringly over the back of her hand. "Thank you." He said, smiling brightly at her. For once in his life, her might get her to move on. But as soon as he was about to say something else, he could hear his name being called. Knowing from the tone of the voice that it was Vivian, he quickly pulled Nyssa close to his body, his arm draped around her shoulders. As soon as Vivian came up, he could feel her smile waver. "What is going on here!" She screeched at them. Kyle just smiled and let out a chuckle. "Oh yeah. I forgot to text you, but where over." He said to her.

Nyssa smiled back at him, holding his hand tight as he moved his thumb on her hand. The next thing she knew was that she was being pulled close to him and his arms going around her. She didn't realize what suddenly happened until she heard Vivian's voice. She could feel Kyle's breathe on her neck which sent a shiver along her spine. She put her hand through his silky smooth hair as she looked at Vivian with a smile on her face.

Vivian fumed, looking at him. "You will pay!!" She screeched, running away. Kyle smiled, looking at her. "Totally worked." He said, looking her strait in the face. They where pretty close, almost nose to nose. He opened his mouth, feeling no words come out of his mouth.

Her anger brought a smile on Nyssa's face and she turned to see that she was face to face with Kyle. They were so close, she could see the features of his face all highlighted. His blue eyes were locked on her face, his smile still echoing in his face, his cheekbones cut at perfect angles. Her heart just melted at being this close to him. Oh! What she would give to erase the least amount of space that lasted between them. His lips were close, all she had to do was tilt her head, but somehow she couldn't muster up the courage to do so and she satisfied herself by losing herself in that deep blue eyes.

Kyle closed him mouth, clearing his throat and untangling himself from her. "Uh, sorry." He said, blushing a light shade of pink. He could still remember the way her face was outlined. Soft smooth curves, almond shaped eyes, light pink doll like lips, everything. He ran a hand though his hair, exasperated on how she made him feel.
