Futuristic Sky pirates

Wilson watched the others carefully. Three fighting types likely handy enough when the bad stuff happened...but not likely able to crew the ship. He looked back at their captain. "Captain Noting, I am all for exploring the surface if we have the gear. Do we have everyone needed for crewing the ship?" He gave Danny a meaningful glance. "We have the ship's cook, if a bit young. How about the engineer? The riggers? The smith and wood wright?"

He grinned wryly. "I'm the pessimistic one, always looking for what's missing or could go wrong. And I'd hate to sign up on a venture only to be stuck somewhere." He glanced around the room, then back at those around their little table. "And I want to know if exploring the surface is the only thing on the books."

Alex thought for a moment.

"Hmmmmmm. Yeah, I remember now. We have none of those people. As for your other question, we're pirates. We do your average pirate things, you know, stealing, lying, adventuring, causing trouble for the authorities. And, if you have any ideas? Tell 'em to me. It would be fun to try something now."

"I'll have suggestions once I know our capacities. There's no point in trying to hit the Bank of Scotland if you've got three pistols and a sword." Wilson looked around at the others. "Looks like you're attracting a decent core, Captain. We need to discuss your ship as well. What size hull? How many guns and of what size? How many men will she hold?"

She sighed, not really wanting to answer all these questions.

"You know what? Why don't I just show her to you. Then you can see her for yourself."

Hopefully that works. She loved her ship, she loved a lot of ships, but she was in no way an expert. And she had no idea what most of those things were.

"Yeah I'm ready to get out of this dirty old bar!" Daygo said. "Let's go to your ship already, I didn't even get a chance to see it yet." He said. Alexandria was talking about her ship a lot at the bar, so Daygo was exited to see what it actually looked like. His old crew's ship wasn't to good, it was and old, dirty, smelly pile of metal and it didn't even work half the time. Every time he went on the ship he thought that it might just explode and kill everyone on board, but luckily that never happened.

Danny looked back at his mother, both hoping that she didn't hear what Daygo just said and thinking about little Ellie at her hip. When would he see her next? That is if he ever sees her at all. He bit his bottom lip, tugged at his shirt and nodded at the Captain.

"Ma'am, I'm ready when you are." He said.

"I agree that we should see the ship and hear more of your plans. What berth is your ship in? I will pack my gear and meet you there."

Xavier sat a little back from the group, laughing at Daygo's jokes and chipping in his two cents for the conversation, but overall he was enjoying himself already. The rest were drinking beer, but Xavier's glass was smaller, half filled with scotch. It wasn't that he didn't like beer, just that he knew from experience that most pirate ships didn't have good scotch on hand unless it was right after a raid. Tipping the glass all the way back and downing the rest, Xavier trimmed at the burn on his throat and laughed a little. "Well, I've got nothin' but the clothes on my back and my bag, so I'm ready to get this party started," he said, grinning and gesturing to his little bag on the floor next to him. Really, the Wilson guy seemed like he was a stick in the mud or had a stick up some very personal place, but the rest of their rag tag team seemed cool so far.

Ezra, finishing what was his fourth beer, turned to Alex. "Well Cap, I'm ready to get movin'. Can't sit 'round drinking beer all day, no matter how good the company is," he said with a grin, standing up from his seat.
