Like the title states above I can not come up with an actual well thought out plot for well, huh anything. I really can't map out my stories I want to tell and go one plot to the next becuse I can't think of a plot to go by In the first place. I feel that I really can't do anything and I sit there completely lost dumbfounded to what the heck I want my characters to actually do without repeating my selfs over and over and over again and I sit there felling like a dame idot just laying there inclined down into my chair staring blankly at my screen other then typing down an idea and the next thing I know I'm lost to what the heck I'm going to do. I been planning out my story before I get started but it seems nothing is coming to me any one out there have any suggestions?

That's an odd issue. How do you create a character if you can't manage to form an idea of what you want them to do? If you can create fleshed out characters, then you should be able to imagine them overcoming conflict.

Your plot/story directly ties into your character and setting. Example: a Wild West Sheriff (setting & character) gets pitted against a murderous gang of outlaws (plot idea). Do you have an idea of the type and scope of conflict you want your characters to face?

Do your characters have flaws? issues? most of the conflict that that creates plot is located in the character and their situation. i.e. Wild west sheriff lives in a dangerous and criminal filled land, thus he has to fight criminals. (baby plot right there).

I would suggest looking at the five or three act structure and try and plan a plot loosely around that. Starting with a short introduction of characters and small quest, followed by some sort of initial conflict or action to tie your players into the over arching conflict. After that just feed on your player's ideas to mold a world that's fun and engaging for them to play in. All in all you don't need that much most players just want a world to tell their own stories in and interact with. Also it might help to start by crafting a world that you enjoy and then finding what kind of "problems" exist in this world. This is all my personal opinion and it may not be helpful but I hope it is.
