He'd probably be able to detect their presence. He has a few magic circuits and, like I said, received rudimentary training in their usage. It's safe to assume he has some kind of holy spell that lets him interact and speak with the dead as to better perform exorcisms and interact with spirits. Of course, he's not about to exorcise Clovis.
