Okay ya'll we will be following the following set of rules for the rp going forward given that we have more people now:
Instead of writing:
Round-Based Posting
A round-based system keeps posts organized in collaborative storytelling while ensuring no one is left behind. It works best for group scenes such as meetings, battles, events, or moments when all characters are in the same setting.1. Structuring Rounds
How a Round Works
- A round starts when the GM (me) posts a scene update.
- Each player posts once within that round, responding to previous events and adding their character’s reaction.
- The round ends when everyone has posted (or when a set time limit passes).
- The GM (me) posts an update, marking the start of the next round.
Post Order
- Loose Order → Players post in any order but must wait for everyone before posting again.
2. Keeping Pacing Smooth
Time Limits for Rounds
- 24-72 hour soft cap: If someone hasn’t posted within this timeframe, the round progresses without them.
- If a player goes inactive, they can either:
- Be skipped for the round.
- Have their character “idle” (e.g., standing back, lost in thought, etc.).
- Give permission for the GM or another player to write a minor reaction for them.
What If Someone Posts Late?
- If they missed a round but want to rejoin, they can do a catch-up post summarizing their character’s reaction.
- If their absence affects the story, the GM can adjust the scene slightly to acknowledge their presence.
3. Collaborative Posting in Rounds
Encouraging Interaction
- Players should acknowledge at least one other character in their post to keep the scene moving.
- Avoid monologues—leave space for responses or reactions from others.
- If an action affects another character (e.g., throwing a drink at them), don’t assume success—allow the other player to respond.
Using “Fluid Actions” Instead of Hard Results
Instead of writing:This gives the other player (or the GM) a chance to decide the outcome.John swings his sword, slashing the bandit’s arm and sending them reeling. Try: John swings his sword toward the bandit, aiming for their arm, ready to follow up if the strike lands.
4. GM (Me)
- The GM (me) posts at the end of every round to:
- Acknowledge what happened.
- Introduce new obstacles, reveals, or twists.
- Push the scene forward.
GM Post – End of Round 1:
The tension in the council chamber thickens as the Queen rises from her throne, her gaze sweeping across the gathered nobles. "You speak of treason," she murmurs, her tone sharp. "Do you have proof?"
(Round 2 begins – Characters may now respond.)
5. Handling Side Conversations & Small Interactions
- If two characters are in an extended conversation, they can:
- Do a collab post (write it together via DMs and post it as one).
