I know! It’s great to be back, thank you!

My biological and technological distinctiveness are yours. Resistance is futile.

Thank you!

3E is new to me but I do have the rule book I’ve been reading through. If it’s any vote of confidence, I used to (still do) have an infatuation with Fair Folk and had a couple characters of that sort.

For sure this time though, I’ve got a solar concept in the making. Zenith Caste, full on Entertainer Warrior type, power drunk half mad gladiator from the southern lands putting on a show attempting to conquer the greatest challenges of the North while spitting in the face of the Hunt.

Thought that might be a fun bit of contrast flavor to the group. It’s all very loose still, so if it ruffles any feathers I can alter things!

On the contrary! A power drunk half mad gladiator would fit in like chocolate with peanut butter here, considering the concepts we have so far. We are collecting quite a bit of warmonger! Its going to be an interesting campaign.

Just as a side note, Tyree was mostly raised in slavery by the barbarians that took her captive. She was never given a chance to learn any more than what would make her a more useful servant. It wasn't until her Exaltation that she garnered the ability to do any reading, and thus was able to learn some languages as she traveled a bit to the east. I went with the 2 Intelligence to help reflect that she is not stupid by any stretch of the imagination, just uneducated. Given some time with the books, and she can learn to be a sorcerer or scholar like the other nerds out there.

Afuru can strongly relate.

If the two were any more compatible I'd say they be obvious candidates for sisters or a bond.

But! It does seem they will be study buddies!

I need a fitting location of where Afuru would hail from before she fled North.

In your world, is there an unscrupulous dynast or satrap that would be in frequent state of war (be it with whoever) that would have such a warrior as my own and others like her?

I could make up my own, but I wanted to offer it up to you first in case you knew of something interesting that might be fun to incorporate.

Yeah! How far south are you thinking? Northern shore of the Inland Sea or The Hundred Kingdoms? The Burning Sands?

Well im not too well versed yet on the geographical areas, their names, and what is in them yet. But I'm think perhap the Hundred Kingdoms would be a good place to start.

Far enough South that its reasonable to flee north. But not so far away that she has escaped her reputation.

Question, what Essence are we starting with? I'm following baseline chargen for now and I want to make sure I'm not messing up my charms!

I may sound a bit like a broken record, but Creation is huge. It is not reasonable for a person of limited means to feel from one Direction to another. That's like fleeing from medieval France and going to India. Not strictly speaking impossible, but Spain would probably serve just as well. Someone made a tool with the Ex3 map and distance measuring which is quite useful to get a sense of scale: Exalted 3: Mapping Tools

it sounds like to me that if he wants to be fairly foreign but close enough to migrate, somewhere in the Medo area or possibly Grieve might be far enough away. These are PCs after all, traveling above the average mortal is expected to a certain degree.

Yeah, one of the other named Northern locations would work likely work well - depending on exactly what D. Rex D. Rex is trying to accomplish.

Not all that unreasonable. Walking? Most certainly. But other modes of transportation hasten things up considerably.

For example, from East to North. Diamond Hearth from Sijan. It is almost a straight shot by water. By merchant ship it says about a week in rough course there. Assuming unfavorable conditions, slow ships, hold ups, etc. It would not be out of the question for one to make it there in a matter of weeks.

And of little means is of little excuse. Should one really want to get somewhere, there are ways. Threats, favors, labor, etc. It might take longer. But it is doable in a believable time frame.

Those are the areas that look the most reasonable as I look more closely. Even using Sijan as an example was a stretch as I didn't plan on coming from that far south. From mid to upper Medo region to Grieve. Hundred Kingdoms was a guess.

What I'm looking for is a few simple beats:
1. Area with frequent war/battles
2. A person in charge that would employ those like my char.

Most anything else can be worked around.

While I did consider the northern barbarian tribes, it doesn't quite seem to fit what I envisioned for her.

What is Grieve and that area like?

I got a placeholder name and language for her, but I was waiting until I cemented a place before truly going with anything. That way I can match the naming conventions and native language of where she hails from.

All we really know about Grieve is that it is full of kinda-tame lynxes and that its alchemists have recently perfected a "white elixir" which seems to turn people kinda undead.

For frequent war, a decent canonical target would be the near-constant conflict between Halta and Linowan in the north-earst. It's a bit far away, but closer than the Hundred Kingdoms. You could equally well make up a place, there's a lot of empty space on the map and surely part of it is filled with conflict and bad people who hire killer.s

Sounds like a place one could have an interesting sorcery campaign.

And Halta! I've heard that place has talking monkeys. But yeah, that does seem a bit faraway. Though I do like that area a lot.

Let's see. Fortitude. Its like if Australia and warring Germany had a butthole exalted baby.

A fatalistic and nihilistic mood sets the place, and primed for the strongest and most ruthless to get ahead and make the laws. Its factions are more like gangs. But every now and then those gangs unite. Becoming a more unified army. A hungry one that strikes out to conquer its neighbors. And does a good job at it until the Realm or other force steps in to stop them.

She could easily have come from just such a time. Her kind would flourish in that sort of army.

That would work. I also can give you some tribes warring in that area. Or a coastal Satrap that is attempting to “cow the barbarians”.
Do share! That could be an interesting option. And could give her bad reputation an interesting twist. Some barbarians might even cheer at such a bloodthirsty beast as a worthy foe.

Satrap of of Rimefall and the outlying villages.

Latif is distant blood to the Cathak house, proper. He was assigned to a remote Satrapy to keep him out of the way. He’s ambitious, but often gets confused by too many details.

Yet somehow, he’s been fighting a wasteful war against the brutal northern tribes. It started as a way to prove his own worth to his name and house. But, the fighting has continued for years and his conscripted forces have made no headway.

Rimefall is east of Pneuma on the southern coast. Latif’s Satrapy extends out into the harsh hills and forests north from the coast.

*Appreciative whistle* That's quite a cult rating you got there. We'll be making sport of Immaculates pretty quick with a nation's worth of followers. I've no objections if that's what you're going for.

At the rate our pantheon is growing, it's an inevitable outcome anyway.

Gonna need bodies and souls to civilize and repopulate the North with the glories of the Exalted~

Nice pic. She's going to be a bit chilly up in the snow, though. lol
