Well Fate/Stay Night was a porn game. And so was Utawarerumono. Sure there are CGs but its mostly text.

The singleplayer is so good! Like, it's a shooter campaign, which is basically the action movie of video game stories. But I'd call this the John Wick of shooter campaigns. It's not the most creative story but it's just done really well.

Exactly. They make little sense, and are completely useless in battle. Chemical weapons, biotech, nanotechnology, those are the stuff of the future.
