Roleplay Availability
I am looking for roleplays.
Roleplay Type(s)
  1. One on One
  2. Off-site
Hello! Doing little introductions has been my achilles heel since college icebreakers. I'm Prag or Nightshade (she/her), I'm almost thirty, I live in the CST, and I've been kicking around doing roleplays for a little over a decade. I will forever love to talk about characters, story ideas, and the crazy situations we can create. I play video games in my downtime, I enjoy learning about random internet drama I'll happily never be apart of, and I will forever talk shit about Ghost Adventures while still keeping up to date on the damn show (fuck you, Zak).

A few things to get out of the way first,

  • Please be over twenty-one. I’m almost thirty.
  • Posting consistency is what it is. I can post daily or weekly depending on work, life, and health.
  • I have samples, and I’d love to see yours!
  • Discord for talking; Discord, Gdocs, and Threads for writing.
  • You can PM me here or add me on discord (pragmaticnightshade).

    • I expect that you have something in mind rather than vague overlapping interests we share or "vibes" you're aiming for.
    • I don't like prying a plot out of people and pulling all the weight.
  • Single-pairings or multiple main characters.
  • Gay/queer romance only (m//, f//, nb/). Nonbinary & transgender characters are always welcome!
  • Side/Supporting characters are necessary.
  • OC/OC only for fandoms.
  • Real-life refs, drawn/art refs, or descriptions. No anime art refs.
  • I will say a resounding “no” to…

    • sub/dom, seme/uke, top/bottom characters; I need depth and characters labeled in these ways disinterest me.
    • mpreg, furries/anthros, omegaverse.
    • master/slave dynamics.
    • weird age gaps in maturity level.
    • main characters under the age of twenty.
    • incest (including step-siblings), non-con.

ORIGINALS & VAGUE IDEAS

I have an entire google doc filled with original plot ideas you are more than welcome to look at! I'm always open to new takes and twists on them. I'm also always open to new ideas in general. Below are some vague ideas that aren't full plots, but they're buildable!

• Treasure hunters in the early to mid-1900s following old maps and rumors.

✩ Marriage of convenience or circumstance. Examples being a marriage arranged by contract by two families or (criminal) groups, getting married for a green card, getting married because someone built a really big web of lies they now need to own up to, an arranged marriage between countries/nations/kingdoms that clearly wasn't as well thought out as it should have been, and so on.

• A branch of the mafia/mob owns a small business (tattoo shop, flower shop, pizza shop, coffee shop, etc.) that has slowly gained popularity over the years in their home city. Although this small business is used as a front for illegal activities, it gives jobs to the newest members who are watched by the “owner” or head manager of the store (someone who has been in the mafia/mob for a while and is trusted or maybe the child of the head of the branch).

• A small town that is a haven for supernatural beings houses a darker secret than the residents know about.

• A city divided between the population of normal people and those with superpowers. Though their numbers are small, supers are the newest group to be oppressed by society. Although they can live anywhere, work anywhere, go almost anywhere, and learn anywhere, that doesn’t mean any of it is easy. Sometimes the easiest way to make money and stay safe is to ally themselves with a gang or criminal group, or form one themselves.

• Outside of a town in the woods is a cabin. The inhabitant of the cabin has many rumors that circulate them with no one able to tell if any are true. One day, they are found injured in the woods by a member of the town.

• The heir to the throne escapes after their kingdom is sacked and the king and queen are killed. They flee to a country/kingdom―that their kingdom had allied itself with―to seek help. They are turned away, accused of being an impostor of the heir that was said to be killed.

✩ In recent years, a master thief has made themselves known in the largest city of the kingdom. They leave behind a calling card, but the items they steal can never be tracked down. Their favorite person to antagonize is a particular guard captain hellbent on finding them.

✩ A small group of treasure hunters and adventurers come across an ancient ruin that hasn’t yet been explored. Inside, they find that the ruins were made by a once prosperous and widespread people that no longer exist for unknown reasons. In the depths of the ruins, they discover an old book with riddles that will lead them to an ancient relic.

✩ Childhood BFFs that grew up in the same small town together, but one of them leaves to go to college in the city and the other friend is left behind in the small town. The character that left returns some years later and discovers their former BFF is the head (or the second in command) of a cult that's started to slowly take over the town.

✩ AA is the adult child of a business tycoon who passed away and left everything to AA, but AA cannot take over as CEO of the company unless they get married by the age of twenty-five (or insert whatever age). This isn't an issue as AA is set to marry their fiancé/fiancée today. BB is a gang/mafia leader who ends up in AA's hotel room after getting attacked in the hallway. When AA's fiancé/fiancée comes into the room making out with someone else, the marriage is called off, and AA turns to BB with the offer of getting hitched in exchange for an allowance until their eventual divorce.

fantasy (high and low) / slice-of-life / modern fantasy / supernatural elements
urban adventure small towns / comedy / horror / drama / political intrigue / grand adventures / forced proximity
enemies/rivals to friends to lovers / blood and gore / magic / fantasy races / pirates
forced to work together / dark and gritty / underground organizations / occult / crime
gangs, mafias, and organized crime / undercover agents / double agents / hurt/comfort / betrayal and reconciling
redemption / revenge / coups / political uprisings / fake it ‘til you make it / fake relationships
arranged marriage / cliches and tropes / former friends reunited / former friends reunited on opposite sides
tending to each other's injuries / western / relying on each other to survive / “i need you, asshole” vibes
supernatural beings (vampires, witches, werewolves, etc.) / found family

FANDOM IDEAS

As I said earlier, my only interest when it comes to fandom settings is OC/OC. I have no interest in writing for or against canon characters. If they make a cameo, that's fines, but I don't want them to be the focus of the story being written.

dragon age (have not played veilguard) / mass effect trilogy / stardew valley / my time at portia/sandrock
the elder scrolls oblivion and skyrim / kingdoms of amalur / dragon’s dogma (haven’t played the second game yet)
the witcher (mostly the show, i’m sorry) / fallout (the show; some of the games) / gta / arcane
heaven official’s blessing / spy x family / d&d / wow / rush hour / fields of mistria

Uncategorized Ideas
• Royal Dwarf & their Second (could be casteless made second)
• Unlikely companions. A mage and a templar during the mage rebellion rely on each other to survive. An assassin and their target are forced to work together after the assassin is double-crossed by the person who contracted them. A criminal and their guard are ambushed on the road en route to the criminal’s new cell -- could instead be a templar escorting a mage to a new circle or even Aeonar, and they are the only two that survive the attack.
✩ An expedition team goes into the Deep Roads and gets more than they bargained for
• A spymaster getting too attached to one of their spies, and their journey through uncovering a plot on the Divine’s life. Alternatively, the spy master and the assassin sent to kill the Divine working together.
• Assassin and their target.
✩ I’ll take any court intrigue and exploration for 100, Alex. The Great Game, Orlesian court politics, ambassadors for different countries in Orlais or even Ferelden, court mages, etc.
• A Dalish tribe and the (largely) human town/village they often reside near during certain seasons, and the budding relationship between both groups, which could have started from a Dalish saving a human from a bear or bandits (or vice versa).

Ideas with Mages and/or Templars
• Escaped circle mage & a (perhaps disgraced) templar that found them but couldn’t bring them back to the circle. Could also instead be an apostate or a Dalish elf that finds the mage.
• A former templar & a runaway/rebel/free mage during the rebellion or the fifth blight
✩ Perhaps a templar and a mage Warden after Awakening, where the warden is placed in charge of the arling and the templar is part of the local Chantry, and they are now forced to work together to maintain peace.
✩ Life in the Circle before, during, and after the mage uprising. The fraternities of enchanters and how some mages toe the line of politics, both within and outside of the Circles and courts. A templar grows soft on a mage and vice versa as a friendship is formed over time, without either of them realizing it. The First Enchanter and the Knight-Commander of a circle form a secret relationship due to how long they have known each other.
✩ A Tevinter mage escaping the Imperium & the captain of the ship they stowed away on
✩✩ A First Enchanter (or high-ranking mage) & a Knight-Commander (or high-ranking Templar) end up working together in the middle of the rebellion to either a) keep a group of apprentices and initiates safe during the chaos, b) protect a village filled with refugees (perhaps in the Hinterlands), or c) all the above!
✩✩ A new Knight-Commander and a new First-Enchanter are placed in charge of a brand new Circle of Magi. Chantry oversight is minimal as this is to be an attempt to find a way for mages and Templars to learn to co-exist with some freedom (perhaps the brainchild of Divine Justinia some time after Kirkwall and before Inquisition or an AU to the original timeline of the games). Because the Circles of Magi are put into existing buildings/complexes/etc., it doesn’t need to be a tower. There could also be the possibility of it being something like Haven or Skyhold, and having the Circle set near some villages that allow for outside communication (people learning to co-exist with magic and not to fear it so heavily).

Grey Wardens
✩ The Grey Wardens of Ferelden rebuilding after the Blight thanks to the Wardens of Orlais sending aid -- Ferelden Warden & Orlesian Warden. Could include Warden(s) from the Anderfels instead or alongside.
• Grey Warden Commander & the Senechalor a different advisor helping them manage an arling (awakening, after all the crazy stuff or with it!)
• A Seeker of Truth is sent to deal with a mage claimed to the an abomination that killed several innocents & the Grey Warden mage framed for the crime
✩ A Grey Warden ends up in the Hinterlands during the rebellion, missing the fake Calling. They end up helping the refugees and convincing some of the mages and even templars to put differences aside in a tense truce to protect the people their fellows have caused harm to. Perhaps ends up as a little side group before the Breach happens that is trying to clean up the Hinterlands since no one else is trying to help, and it turns into a little band of misfits not too dissimilar to how all the games start.

✩ The hush-hush college necromancer & the person that finds out and makes them help with a dangerous research expedition in order to keep things hush-hush.
✩ The dark brotherhood listener & the thieves guild master.
✩ A member of the blades & the person who literally saved a dragon from them or something else because I lost my train of thought.
✩ Bandits take over the remains of Helgen. At first, they don't think they'll stay long, but they clean things up enough for it to be livable. Then they end up clearing out everything and slowly rebuilding it. Turns out, they can make good deals and trades with the merchants passing through, especially if they let them pay to spend the night inside the walls with the guarantee that they won't be stolen from or killed.
✩ Two groups of bandits are sworn enemies and have been for years. With the ongoing war, both their territories are threatened by either the Stormcloaks or Imperial soldiers trying to take over, effectively trying to push the bandits out (if not kill them) all while trying to outdo their enemy. The leaders of the two bandit groups decide to forge a truce and work together. Doesn't have to be because of the war; it could be another issue.
• I adore Labyrinthian to pieces, it's my favorite place in the game. Students from the College go there to do research and run into more than they thought they would once they were able to get inside. Much like the former arch-mage, they leave the dragon priest sealed away with a pact to return to kill him once they've gotten strong enough. Possibly leading to a new arch-mage and master wizard.
• The new arch-mage and the new master wizard or thalmor ambassador. The new master wizard could be from a different college or school, leading to some conflict and friction before the two start to get along.
✩ A college mage and/or researcher hires someone to help keep them safe in dangerous places. Maybe it turns out that their hired guard is actually a bandit (or even a bandit chief) who wasn't able to get a word in edgewise, so they got themselves roped into this.
• A farmer turned soldier that, while good with a weapon, doesn't believe they're cut out for slaughtering their kinsmen or anyone else. Or they don't agree with the war or the side they were pressured into joining. So they abandon their post and head for the closest settlement for safety, but they end up stuck in a storm and rescued by the enemy.

general pairing ideas
• dragonborn & jarl
• jarl & the adventurer helping the people of their hold
• dragonborn & mercenary
• former forsworn & anyone
• injured forsworn & the not so helpless farmer or mill owner that took them in
• new werewolf or vampire & the person trying to help them (cure them or teach them)
• imperial soldier & stormcloak soldier (could be old friends, could be two people that end up stranded and relying on each other to survive, etc.)
• just basically soldiers man
• researcher & hired guard
• assassin & thief
• guard & thief
• the farmer/farmhand turned soldier that deserted & the adventurer they run into
• the new circle member of the companions & someone who finds out that they're a werewolf

• Two warriors/soldiers who end up forced to work together in order to survive after an attack has gone wrong. Preferably a firebender and a waterbender because opposites are fun.
• Alternate to the above, two warriors/soldiers after the hundred-year war is over forced to work together. Maybe they end up in the same city or town trying to help rebuild. Most likely to be a firebender and either a water- or earthbender. The firebender could be trying to redeem themselves for what they did during the war by helping those in need and finding themselves.
• Bounty hunters that wouldn’t normally work together, but they are tasked by the same person to catch a criminal. Think of the two earthbenders sent to get Toph back, but instead of a noble’s daughter, they’re going after a criminal.
• Ba Sing Se. Literally, anything to do with the politics of Ba Sing Se. Or anything set in Ba Sing Se.
• A noble (the young adult child of a family or perhaps the younger siblings of the head of the family) that leaves/escapes their home with a traveler (or small group of travelers). The reason can match the character. Maybe they left to further their skills (combat, bending, etc.), or to seek out/find something or someone.
• A new avatar and one of the master benders that teaches them (they would be similar in age).

• The new farmer who moved onto their grandfather's farm, and the more experienced farmer who helps them out but is reluctant to be friends with them or anyone else, for that matter.
• Going more into the Adventurer's Guild, the newest addition who is trying to prove themselves, and the monster hunter that wants nothing to do with them. (Do I want to marry Isaac? Yes, yes I do.)
• Adventurer's Guild monster hunter and the wizard they get partnered with to do research with various magical and non-magical happenings.
• Two newcomers to the valley that start off as rivals and work their way into a friendship (and perhaps something more). They could be farmers, adventurers, or whatever fits best if they don't participate in the exact same trade, but ones that overlap just enough.
• A sailor crashed on the shore of Pelican Town. While they wait for their ship/boat to be repaired, they help the local farmer in exchange for the spare bedroom and warm meals.

• Down for some redemption arc of a Night's Champion (oc character) working with the Arisen (and maybe falling for each other) because how can you waste a good fighter?
• Anything to do with the Nameless Men or assassins in general.
• Maybe some take on a former Salvation member helped by the Arisen, who then helps the Arisen deal with the group.
• The Arisen and their little group they've gathered of people trying to help them (humans instead of pawns).
• Bandit leaders. Rivals forced to work together idea.
• A bandit leader taking a shine to some straggler or a merchant. Can someone please tame a fucking griffon?

Just a little bump before I get pulled off to go do some basic yard work. I probably won't get around to much online until this afternoon.

Link to samples should be fixed, but please let me know if it doesn’t work!

out of curiosity, what's the difference of drawn art ref and anime art ref? can't those styles overlap since the anime style is a drawn style? also the skyrim and dragon age ideas sound really fun, would need to replay those games some to actually do those so good luck finding people for them o7
