WHOOOO ME?
Jack
His eyes widened at Asher's question. He fiddled with the can in his hands for a bit as he spoke. "Well, n- no not really, never was a big swimmer," said the boy, obviously lying. Jack was never a good liar. He tended not to lie as he was brought up to always tell the truth, but when he did lie- the rare times he did- he was awful at it. Anyone could see the nervous ticks of him not being truthful from miles away. He had hoped he wouldn't be questioned on the matter further. Luckily, Asher broke the slight awkward silence with some more questions. Jack had loved swimming back at home, he just knew he wasn't prepared to go back and get his swimming trunks and take a dip in that water with all of those kids he didn't know.
Jack smiled softly, and couldn't help but chuckle a little at Asher's attempts at joking. He knew the boy was trying to ease the mood, and Jack was ok with the light-hearted fun. He knew the boy just wanted to get to know him a bit better. "It's the quiet ones you gotta worry about." It was certainly a phrase Jack had heard before. He took another sip of his soda can, bringing it to his lips and taking two sips, setting the can back down on the counter, shrugging his shoulders. "Yea I like hockey," the boy replied softly, "I mean I guess that's pretty much it. I don't like many other things." Jack told him. He took his one hand off of the can and raised his hands a little as he shrugged his shoulders once again. Maybe he really was a boring person. He only really had one interest and one passion. No wonder why he was so boring to talk to, he thought.
Jack had been nervously glancing over his shoulder and looking around significantly less as Asher struck up a casual conversation with him. Although he was still extremely nervous and highly uncomfortable with where he was and the current situation, Asher was a familiar face to him that provided some comfort in the craziness of the party setting. The boy had almost forgotten he was there at the beach party, as it was just him and Asher at the bar, sitting in their own little world out there.
