Realistic or Modern Same Love

"Fine, whatever. I'm sorry that you can't seem to deal with your emotions, but I guess that's not my problem," Jade said, walking to the front door. Jade exited the house, taking a breather out in the yard.
Jaqueline watched Jade leave, not feeling the relief she had expected from her living then she though she would. She frowned punching one of the wall before picking up her beer and finishing it of then another and other. She soon was prepared to leave for sure walking towards the exit.

Nathaniel calmly follows the other male outside, having nothing else that draws his attention away. He sits next to him, but there is still a distance of about two feet between them. The male sits in silence, growing rather guilty for what he did. Maybe the staring was all in his head, and this other guy doesn't like men as Nate thought he did. He doesn't know how to fix the situation, so he simply shrugs and sips his beer. After a few more moments, Nate mumbles a few words.

"Hey, I'm sorry...I don't know what I was thinking."

He smiles at the other male, but he can't look into his eyes anyone. He doesn't want to see an upset expression within them. Instead, he stands and starts to walk back inside. He needs another drink to get over his own odd behavior. He should have known better than to talk to a stranger without reason.

@Dannygirl900

Not a regular drinker, Jaquelin was at this point tipsy as she walked out of the house and when she saw Jade still there she was getting frustrated. "Cant get rid of you can I... The dev...The devil is insisted... Bastard... Making attracted to a.. to a dame belle whos work is... way beyound me... Ah... Put i wont be tempted.. will pass the test for both of us... You wont sin... i wont sin..."

Wyatts eyes went wide as Nate actually came up to him and talked to him. "Oh u-uhm I-I guess" he mumbled standing up quickly and looking at Erik and Adam then back at Nate "okay then..." he turned to the door and walked outside. He sat on the deck, inside being stuffy. He took a few deep breaths and tried to calm his shaking hands.
Erik smirked when Nate flirted with Wyatt. He just shook his head with and looked back at Adam "well I'm glad Mel brought you here" he told Adam before taking a drink from his beer. "Yknow, you're pretty cute when you blush" he told Adam with his signature smirk.

Kim looked over at the couch and noticed Erik flirting with Adam and shook her head. Kim downed the rest of her beer and grabbed Mels hand "come with me to the kitchen, I need another beer" and before Mel could reply she pulled the girl toward the kitchen, picking a drink from the cooler and popping the cap off. Kim then, snaked her arm around Mels waist and winked at the girl.

@SPNAddictHolley<3 @FrankieLynn
Adam stared at Erik as he looked over at Wyatt. He didn't think Erik actually knew his name. He felt butterflies as Erik turned his head back to look at him. He looked down at his feet. Then he heard Erik say something. He looked up like a little girl and said,

"Do you really think so?" He blushed again saying that. He looked down at his feet and cowered. He was so stupid.

Mel followed Kim to the kitchen without even having time to argue. She watched as Kim grabbed a drink from the cooler. She had always thought Kim was kind of cute. She had never felt that way about another girl before. She smiled as Kim turned back to her. She was a little surprised when kim wrapped her arm around her waist. Mel felt a huge tingling rush going through her body. She didn't know if she was drunk or what. All she knew is that she dropped her beer and instantly was pulling Kim in and kissing her. What was she doing? She didn't care.

Adam noticed that Mel had disapeared somewhere. He began to be worried until he cought a glimpse of her in the kitchen. What was she doing. When he realized he smiled. He had never thought she would do something like that. He laughed.

Wyatt watched as Nate was about to walk away "no no, it's just that... Erik was overwhelming me with his hyper personality, and then you actually came to talk to me" he said in a slightly surprised tone "why did you come to talk to me?" Wyatt was stumbling over his words, but trying his best not to stutter.

Erik followed Adams gaze to the kitchen then turned back to him with a smirk "your friend is kissing my friend" he stated as if it wasn't completely obvious "couldn't resist Kims charm. She learnt that from me" he winked at Adam leaning back against the couch.

Kim was slightly taken back by Mel, but she quickly returned the kiss pulling her close. She could hear guys begin to cheer in the living room, then Erik joining in. She pulled away with a little smirk "what was that for cutie?" She leaned against the counter taking a drink from her beer and looking Mel up and down

Elodie pocketed her phone and looked down at her trembling hands, which she clasped together in front of her.
I can do this. Be brave. Ever the optimist, Elodie walked stiffly through the house, past the two girls who she'd observed before (and had since broken up, it seemed) until she found a cooler, which was surrounded by other people. Including another two girls who seemed very full of each other. She unclasped her hands when she felt them trembling again and tried to get them to cooperate. Just grab a drink from the cooler. And then back off. Elodie flashed a brief, awkward smile as she went around them to get the first thing she could reach in the cooler (it wouldn't do any good if she spent time fumbling around for something she knew she'd want; that would just exacerbate matters). Once she felt something cool and solid that wasn't ice she pulled it out and popped the top. This wasn't her first time drinking; on the contrary, she would occasionally share a few drinks with Emmanuel, who was a pretty lenient caretaker (which was easy enough for him, considering Elodie never did anything to get in trouble). However, beyond Emmanuel's company, drinking wasn't a recreational activity. Besides, even with Emmanuel, she didn't like getting outright drunk. The one time she did, Emmanuel later reported that she'd tried talking to him by spelling out French words using ASL and he gave up understanding her. The last thing she needed or wanted was to have even more difficulty communicating with others and/or making a fool of herself, of which she was constantly afraid of doing.

Focusing intently and solely on the drink in her hand, Elodie didn't pause to give her racing, anxious thoughts a chance to catch up; she tilted her head back to take a quick drink. As she did, she reasoned with herself: there were plenty of benefits to drinking here and now. It kept her preoccupied instead of standing around twiddling her thumbs (literally), and made it look like she actually belonged there. Besides, she didn't have to get drunk or even tipsy (and didn't want to, considering she was her own designated driver), so what was the harm?

Nate turns back toward the other boy, but he wastes two seconds by setting his, now empty, beer can on a nearby table. The stalled moment allowed him to think of a way to answer "Mr. Eyes" without sounding ridiculously odd. He smiles meekly, knowing the other boy is nervous, as his words were jumbled together.

"I like your eyes, and I guess I wanted to figure out who they belonged to. "

The male smiles again, staring into those same eyes, once again. He then bites his lip, waiting for the boy's reaction to his strange explanation.

~My favorite letter in the alphabet is the D~

Evan walked up to the house after the party was already started, hoping he wouldn't be noticed this way. He really didn't want to go but something inside of him urged him to continue moving. "Why am I doing this?" he couldn't stop himself from moving, it was so strange to him. As he reached the house he quietly slipped in with the crowd around him and escaped to his mind. I am so stupid, why did I do this? This is only going to bring me down more, rather than bring me up. He just stood there, silently fighting a battle in his head.

Everest's eyes stare across the street at the house flowing with individuals. It wasn't her kind of party, that much was made clear. Too many school kids were roaming around but nevertheless she unbuckles her helmet and kicks down the stand on the motorcycle. Just think of all the trouble you're getting yourself into. First inviting yourself to a lame ass party and then stealing the motorcycle your father just fixed in the shop. Her lips purse slightly as she contemplates just going down town for a few drinks at the bar but then again maybe she'd run into someone picking a fight. The odds of that happening is what fuels her to walk into the place smelling of sweat and alcohol. It had only maybe an hour ago and yet the scent is strong when going in.

Nice house. She smirks while wandering around and bumping past the excess bodies of anyone that gets in her way. No one was catching her eye, nothing spectacular would happen here. Not some house party. Sighing defeated by the fact that there will be no source of entertainment other than girls and boys on top of one another. The same old things she had witnessed about a hundred times. What she had yet to witness however would be the girl standing dead still in the kitchen. Even with the girl's attempts at making herself scarse, Everest can pick out an odd ball when coming across one. A small grin forms on her dark red lips and makes her way to the fridge. Popping the top open to a canned beer and taking a few sips, Eve goes over and leans back onto the counter. "So, not the party hard type of girl or are you just bored?" She doesn't even look at Elodie while speaking just takes another sip from her can.

Oh God, oh God, akdaldkfahd. Ashton's mind is running about a mile a minute as he looks around the room full of warmth and people and kissing people. This wasn't where he wanted to be but how could he say no when his mother was shoving the invite down his throat? "You have no friends! This is an opportunity! God gave you a mouth and legs so get up and go!" He mocks her in his mind while still trying to keep in touch of his current situation. OK! Maybe I can just leave now and go home and tell her that the cops showed up and ran everyone out? Yea, that's good enough. Smiling at his quick problem solving, Ash tries desperately to get back to the exit. Too many people were crowding around him but with a few pushes he finally gets half way there. Freedom was only yards away when thump.

Looking up, Ashton had not realized how fast he had been moving and somehow he'd also ignored the guy standing right in his way. "Oh! Sorry man, I must've zoned out!" He recognized the guy from school, he was mostly always on his own which never sat well with the spunky freshman. He steps back, rubbing his nose which he'd hit into the guy's chin. Embarrassing, of course but there was no time to show it. Not when he had worked everything out and could leave right now without any consequences. Besides, his beloved laptop must be lonely sitting on his bed all on its own.

Elodie hadn't had half of her beer when something, or rather someone, caught her attention. A girl who radiated confidence (it seemed so to Elodie, anyway, who was so far on the spectrum that most everyone seemed confident to her) picked her out of a crowd. Her. And she was talking. To her. Elodie. She knew without trying that speaking wouldn't work. Even if she could force herself to form the sounds and syllables necessary for communication without stuttering or losing her voice (it always did feel like her throat would clench shut when she least wanted it to), she would never be able to get her voice to be loud enough to overpower the constant din around them. Really, it was a wonder that Elodie wasn't a complete nervous wreck by this point. Maybe she was getting better. Maybe. She still couldn't talk to this girl, as much as she wanted to, and by the time she realized that she'd just been standing there staring, there had been enough of an uncomfortable silence for it to be awkward. Now aware of her blunder, Elodie quickly shook her head no in lieu of a verbal response to the question and took another drink. She wanted to talk to this girl, really she did. She didn't know why this girl wanted to talk to her, but that was a different story, and perhaps one that she shouldn't be concerned about. Or should she...? What if this was just a ploy? If only Elodie could convince this girl that she wasn't as much of an idiot and a target as she had been before she changed schools, then she wouldn't have to worry as much. Elodie imagined herself leaning against the counter, as casually as this girl was, and smiling and responding with ease and asking this girl why she was avoiding the fray herself, but none of this came naturally or easily to Elodie. What she did manage, however, was to move so that her lower back pressed against the edge of the counter, which was reassuringly solid. "I guess not. What about you?" Just say it. Do it. Open your mouth and do it. No matter how many times Elodie mentally repeated the response like a mantra, she couldn't get herself to say it. Instead, she fiddled with her drink, wiping away the condensation with her thumb. Come on... you're so close... you can do this...

@ShadedRose

Evan was heading near the door when the kid bumped into him. "It's okay, really, I'm fine." He remembered seeing the guy in school. His name was... Ashton? right? He really didn't want to talk to the kid because he was always so happy, he envied him. He embraced his flaws and Evan couldn't he wanted to be that way so badly. He continued on his way out the door after the confrontation and walked home. Half-way out the sidewalk, he tripped and hurt his knee, further investigation showed that he broke the skin. Great, now I have to go back so I can clean it up.

Everest's brow rose upon getting no response. Maybe she's just that nervous. She thinks while glancing briefly at the girl next to her. "Look, take a deep breath. You're hot, at this party with other hotties and have nothing to worry about." It was her nature to be so confident though anytime she got around those who weren't of the same mindset it sort of put her off as strange. "Bottom line, you're doing fine." It wasn't weird to call someone she just met hot, it was a compliment after all. Her eyes travel back to the girl taking notice in her loosening up a bit. She grins then and nods briefly in improvement. "See? Anyway, I'm not even sure why I'm at this thing...there's nothing to do and this crap is disgusting." She says waving the half gone beer and shaking her head. "Cheap asses..." She mutters not caring that she was literally having a one-sided conversation but for some reason it doesn't feel completely so. It's like she's listening but doesn't have the voice to say anything... Eve gives a small sigh then grins. "How about something simple..what's your name?"

@Bupkis

Ash gave a quick nod at their understanding and pauses watching the guy walk out as well. Huh, at least I'm not the only one who thinks this is a waste of time! Walking toward his mother's car down the block, he had just turned to walk along the sidewalk going the opposite direction when the sound of a rather painful grunt could be heard. His head turns to look over his shoulder and with a frown he soon jogs to the guy he had just bumped into moments ago. "Hey! You alright?" Stopping beside him and squatting down, Ash gives a concerned look while glancing over the broken skin. "Uh..here." Standing back up, he holds out a hand to help Evan back to his feet.

@Rachael Grimm

"Thank you." Evan grabbed Ash's hand and stood up. As they went back to the house, they went into the bathroom to clean the wound. Once there, Evan found he couldn't get to the wound properly in his pants so he took them off and got peroxide out. As he did this someone came into the bathroom and saw the two guys, one of them in their underwear and quietly muttered "kinky bastards". "Well then... that was extremely awkward" Evan grabbed the peroxide and sat down. He put a little bit on the wound and it foamed.

Elodie noticed with a twinge of alarm that the girl was starting to pick up on how socially inept she was. It was just a matter of time, I guess. At least she's still here. That thought gave her a small measure of comfort; not enough to overcome everything, but something to hold onto to combat it. However, she did look down at herself pensively in response to the comment about her appearance. She really, seriously considered the merits of the comment and, tilting her head, decided, a little shyly, that she agreed. She certainly didn't look bad, anyway. It hadn't been much of a consideration until now. And now that she was thinking about it... She bit her lip, jerking her head up to look at the girl and then flitting her eyes back to the beer in her hands. Eye contact was, as of yet, a little out of her grasp. Elodie tried to commit the girl's face to memory, however briefly she'd seen it. Absentmindedly, she continued to wipe the condensation away from her drink, only for it to reform for her to clear off again. Despite the distraction, she listened intently to the girl next to her, as though she hung on every word. Without daring to look up, Elodie nodded as enthusiastically as she could - she wanted to show that she was interested in this conversation. She didn't want the girl to leave. I've come this far... and she's being so nice to me. Perhaps Elodie's standards for "so nice" were a little low, but it was a starting point.

It was true; the beer wasn't the best she'd ever had, but she supposed that, for a teen party at some unfortunate bastard's household, it sufficed. It wasn't exactly the classiest setting. Nevertheless, she cracked a small, crooked smile, trying her best to show her engagement. The last thing Elodie wanted was for this girl to think she was ignoring her. It didn't seem to be headed that way, though. But, then again, Elodie was far from an expert on socializing. Elodie thought about the question for a moment, listening to her heart pound in her ears. Even without the constant noise around them, that sound alone told Elodie that there was no good way of answering the question like a normal person. After a moment of consideration, she came up with an idea. Elodie set her beer on the counter and dug her phone out of her pocket, trying her best to be graceful and natural instead of shaky and fumbling. With quite a bit of focus, Elodie opened up the notes app and typed (stumbling, with typos she had to go back and fix over and over again):

Elodie

A few seconds of afterthought later, Elodie added on another line:

Yours?

It occurred to Elodie to try to explain herself, and so, again, trying to block out nagging thoughts of what this girl must think of her by now, she typed out:

Sorry, it's just so loud in here

Maybe she wouldn't think she was such a freak if she blamed her silence on the surrounding noise and not her own anxiety.

@ShadedRose

Being Ashton, he doesn't ask many questions as they make back to the house and into the bathroom. He was rather worried over the guy's leg despite it only being a scrape and looks away a bit as he removed his pants. It was awkward but knowing he couldn't handle. Now upon the new entrance, he turns white as a sheet and begins shaking his head quickly. "It's no-" He gives up with a sigh as the guy had already left their sight. His eyes return to Evan and tapping his foot, he shakes his head. "How'd you manage to do that, anyway?" Pointing at the flesh wound while hopping onto the counter and pulling a few napkins and handing them over.

@Rachael Grimm

"It ends up being my luck anyways. I honestly don't know how I'm not dead yet being as clumsy as I am." He let out a laugh as the two talked. "Thank you for helping me. Normally people wouldn't think twice about coming back. I don't usually get this kind of treatment." He thought about how kind Ash had been to him throughout this escapade. He was truly grateful for it

Eve smirks while watching Elodie's body language and the fact that her compliment caused the girl to double check herself is somewhat amusing. She's cute, I'll give her that. Her eyes flicker around the room not in an awkward or uninterested way but still waiting for something exciting to happen. Finally she gives up on that happening and turns to face the girl. She leans her waist against the counter being 5'6". The sorta bored chick gives a curious look still waiting for the girl's answer. "So??" She asks a second time before watching her pull the phone, or rather fumble numerous times before finally succeeding, and beginning to type. Everest's brow goes up once more in a slightly confused manor but after it's finally handed to her she gives an understanding smile. "I see..well, I'm Everest. Elodie, I've never heard of that name before." She tells her honestly and hands the phone back. "If it's too loud here then why not go outside?" Her head turns toward the open arch way leading from the kitchen and out into the room full of people. "If you're nervous, don't be."

@Bupkis

((So sorry guys! Bloodhounds are exhausting...))

"Ha, I've never met anyone that clumsy." He admits though not in a rude, unkindly way. He smiles a bit hearing his laugh and relaxes not as uncomfortable with their run in. "This kind of treatment?? This is how people should be.." Sighing, he frowns slightly. "Some people are such assholes." Huffing at the thought, his beloved laptop pushed to the back of his mind, Ashton slides off the counter and kneels down, taking a bandaid from his back pocket. There isn't a moment of hesitation as he quietly covers the not as bloody scrapes and stands again. I always thought of this guy as a tough one...he seems nice.

Elodie slipped her phone back into her pocket. At least she didn't comment on how strange she was, though if Elodie wasn't mistaken, the thought was pretty plainly clear in Everest's behavior. If you're nervous, don't be. Hadn't she heard that one before, Elodie wondered rhetorically, and not without a little sourness. Shame and frustration were starting to creep up on her, but she worked actively to quell them. If it were that easy for her to relax, she would. A tiny, meddling thought added that it really should be and she was being silly, but she countered that. She knew she struggled with things more difficult than the average person had to deal with, and that was okay, as irritating as it was (particularly at the moment). Everest (what a lovely name!) had the nicest intentions, and Elodie tried to focus on that as she looked first slightly up at Everest (who had a few inches on her) and then towards the archway she'd pointed out. It would be ideal if she could get outside to a quieter setting (and maybe, just maybe, she'd be able to manage a whisper; stranger things had happened) without bumping into anyone, but she wasn't sure if that was possible. So, she steeled herself and nodded, gesturing quickly with her hand as though to say "you lead the way." It would make her feel infinitesimally better (at least it was something) if Everest was in front of her, not behind her. The thought of people watching her, even during so minor an event as walking out a door, gave her goose bumps. Beautiful possibilities for conversation repeated themselves in her head as she thought out how the next few minutes might go: "Your name is so pretty. Where did it come from?" "Oh, Elodie? It's a French name. I guess it isn't super common." "Please don't be bored, I'm trying." Perhaps that last one wasn't so pretty, but it was what she wanted to say, anyhow. When she was just starting to talk, Emmanuel got into the habit of acknowledging how hard she was trying and praising her for every sound she could get out, even if it was an unintelligible stutter. His efforts had been incredibly reassuring, and it became easier and easier to talk to him. Now, though, Elodie was older, more independent, and, in a perfect world, doing a little better every day. She didn't need someone to hold her hand through this, and so with a note of finality she squashed the thought as best she could. You don't need to beg her. If she's bored, she's bored, and there's nothing you can do. It's just who you are. So make the best of it.

Elodie set a goal for herself: by the end of the night, she would tell Everest that she was pretty, and she wasn't leaving until she accomplished that or until Everest got bored and left.

@ShadedRose

He smiled as the boy put a bandaid on his knee. "I guess I never got treated well because I wouldn't let anyone in. So in return they shoved me away." He put his pants back on and headed out. At least I got one good thing out of this party. "Your girlfriend must be happy to have someone so nice." He has to be straight for treating me so well.

Minutes later of contemplating her word choice, Everest frowns slightly and raises a hand in apology. "Hey, my bad...I really mean it that way..you not to be nervous, that is.." Truth is that she knows how it is. Her half brother had suffered from extreme anxiety and so this does nothing but make her feel like a bitch. It was definitely an ass move in which she would somehow have to make up to Elodie. "Hey..." She stops and glances away, some of her confidence ebbing away with the thoughts of how inconsiderate her statement had been. Shit.... She fully expects Elodie to leave her dumbass and she wouldn't be able to go after her, not after that one thing that would stay with her and most likely haunt her conscious. The thing about Eve being that she could be one of the guiltiest humans if put into a sucky situation created by herself.

It was a surprise when the slightly shorter blonde motioned to the walk way accepting her suggestion of going outside. It helps ease the guilt and nodding in understanding, Everest trashes the alcohol, both her own can and Elodie's having picked up on the girl's dislike of the nasty liquid. She takes in a deep breath once to the arch way and has her back to the girl. It doesn't take her long to start plowing through the people. She hopes Elodie will stay close and even stops at one point and turns to take the others hand. She can't say anything so instead pulls her gently through the crowd keeping her near while pushing through. Finally they make it outside and Everest can take a breath. Turning around to face Elodie, she releases her hand and smiles confidently trying to seem like normal. "There we go!"

@Bupkis

The boy smiles and listens as he was informed of the possible reason behind no one being good to him. "I suppose that could be it.." He agrees though thinks it to be a stupid reason. People were idiots, no doubt. As the guy pulled his pants back up and went to leave, Ash hears his statement and gives a confused look before laughing a little. "Girlfriend?" He sounds skeptical and shakes his head. Ha! He actually thinks a geek like me could get one of those? Wait...he thinks I'm hetero?

@Rachael Grimm

"Yeah, your girlfriend." He seemed very confused by the tone of Ashton's voice. "Is something wrong?" There was something wrong about this. Evan just couldn't quite place what was off but there was something. "You are straight right?" After hearing his response Evan freaked out. "Oh my god... I am sorry! I didn't mean to.. you were just..." Evan couldn't make out a single sentence without pausing. After he took a couple breaths he calmed down. "I just never got treated like this, especially not by anyone gay without them wanting something in return."

It's okay it's okay it's okay it's okay don't freak out everything's okay Everest is right there it's just Everest she likes you it's okay focus on her she's holding your hand focus what did she say before that was really nice of her she's so nice it's okay don't freak out

Elodie found herself unintentionally grasping Everest's hand a little too tightly. It was taking everything she had to one, continue moving after Everest and two, not to recoil from the touch and jerk her hand away (which was her initial instinct, one she had to suppress). To best accomplish this, Elodie tried to aim her focus at what had transpired back in the kitchen. It was thoughtful of Everest to throw out her beer for her and she was grateful, but more than that she considered Everest's words and behavior. Without her having to say so, Elodie could sense the sincerity in Everest, perhaps a little buried underneath, and for it, Elodie was appreciative. She was also a little pleasantly surprised; who wouldn't've given up on her by now?
No one, Elodie thought, with only two exceptions in the world. Maybe Everest could be the third. Part of her wanted to reach out and physically reassure Everest that it was okay, that she didn't need to be so guilty, that Elodie wasn't offended, but alas, touching others was also not in her arsenal of possible social interactions. Even just holding Everest's hand was difficult, but with so much other stimulus going on around her, Elodie couldn't help but hold on, though she didn't realize quite how tightly she was doing so.

Once they got outside, Elodie self-consciously released Everest's hand and let her own fall to her side with a look that was equal parts sheepish and apologetic. She looked to the ground below her feet and tried to center herself. It was dark out and the air smelled sweetly of humidity and grass. Distantly, beyond the pounding of her own heart, Elodie thought she could hear crickets chirping. She did note, with some relief, that the constant noise, which felt like an omnipresent entity targeting her when she was indoors, felt too far away to hurt her, though she was no less aware of it - it no longer warranted all her attention. Wringing her hands, Elodie took a deep breath and tried to relax a little more. She was getting there, slowly but surely. She clenched her hands into fists and closed her eyes, preparing herself. Elodie carefully, slowly, deliberately mouthed,
Thank you. It took her a while, but she was no less proud for having accomplished it. She let her hands unclench and her eyes open, only to flit away from Everest again. Okay, good. Now keep the conversation going. Don't rely on her. Elodie hesitated, but shyly went to pull her phone out of her pocket again, the trembling noticeably less severe. With a steadier grip on her phone, Elodie began to type. This was really the true test, she supposed. Either Everest finally realized what it was she was dealing with and called her a freak and bailed (perhaps in nicer terms), or she'd stick around and do... something. Elodie hoped for the latter.

I didn't get to say so before, but it's okay. I knew what you meant and I appreciate it. Thank you. It's just easier when I'm alone.

Quickly noticing how that could be misinterpreted, Elodie hurried to add,

You can stay, though. I don't mind.

Shit, you shouldn't've said that, now she'll think you're... what will she think of you?

Elodie tried to smile again, but she could feel how small it was.

@ShadedRose (also, gosh, sorry for how long it took me; RPN must've gone down for maintenance shortly after I started my post, so it ate up the whole thing! Also, let me know if I'm getting too wordy. It's a bad habit.)

Ashton gave a small smile in return beginning to regret this incident though he doesn't leave right away still interested in what the outcome of all of this will be. "Dude, it's cool. I don't have a boyfriend either. Too much of a geek for that." He actually grins a bit and walks after Evan still wanting to leave this place. "It doesn't matter the sexuality, or it shouldn't." He replies but doesn't take any of it personal. "Woah, it's really ok." He tries to reassure the guy and pats his shoulder. "No worries." Ash doesn't wait around further to have either of them become any more flustered and heads for the exit.

@Rachael Grimm

Though unaware of Elodie's inner conflict, Everest was glad to have gotten her out of there. Everyone was either far too drunk or getting there. She had taken little notice to her hand being held tighter than usual though can tell after the pressure is released. Grinning, Eve shrugs her shoulders at the 'thank you'. She was happy to be spoken to even if it isn't out loud. "No problem." Looking around at the night time full of the rising moonlight and the light that was flooding out of the windows and other openings. Luckily the music was much less noticeable now without it blaring in their ears. She takes notice of Elodie's fleeting glances and almost wishes she could just read her thoughts. If only she could know what the girl was thinking, then they could have a better understanding of one another. Not that Everest was going to give up now with so much to gain. This girl was cool, the way she is in general seems to prove that to her enough.

Watching as Elodie pulled her phone once again, Eve shows a softer smile only to correct herself and vanish the thing to the back of her mind. It was very seldom that Everest would smile a true, loving smile. Too used to being tough and grinning all the time. Anyway, Eve stays standing, waiting surprisingly patiently as El worked on her messaging. She gets to read it after it was corrected a couple times and stares at it for a moment still feeling bad. She can tell... Nodding her head slowly, she hands the phone back and flashes a smile. "Good to know you don't mind my company." The tattooed woman stretches. "Oh, I was curious about you being here? I mean, if it's a personal thing, that's fine."

Elodie couldn't help but smile a bit at Everest's reaction - her first automatic show of affection of the night. Everest's continued interest meant so much more to Elodie than just something to keep herself from being bored. It probably meant far more to Elodie than it would to anyone else; particularly, Elodie noted with a little disappointing, to Everest. Nonetheless, Elodie wasn't one to complain. She had a perfectly good opportunity here and by all means, she was going to do her best to take it. After all, there was a goal in front of her and she was determined to reach it. Even if nothing came of this acquaintance, hey, at least Elodie was getting some social practice in. One way or another, she stood to benefit from this, didn't she? Elodie gingerly took her phone back and tapped away:

I thought it would be good for me. Hesitating, she slowly, unsurely added, Once I got here, I thought I'd been wrong.

Her throat still felt tight, but the quivering was dying down and she could almost use her phone comfortably. Elodie was really getting her hopes up; as long as things continued the way they were, by the end of the night, perhaps she'd be able to whisper to Everest what she wanted her to hear. Communicating over her phone was effective, though awkward, but it wouldn't do permanently, and certainly not for achieving her little goal.

Everest gives a relaxed sigh, it looks to her that the girl with no voice as of right now was starting to loosen up. Such an achievement, I'm sure. Eve thinks with masked comfort. That would be good for her self-esteem and over all process in becoming more sociable. "Well, it seems to be going alright as of now!" She enthuses with a smirk. "Of course, I came in and saved you...so, it's most likely my doing. Not that I'm complaining..learning more about you is kind of fun." Her confession is a bit out of place to begin with but she swallows down the gushy-ness she felt afterwards. The music changes from the loud, noisy chaos it had been for at least an hour now and was something much calmer. "The DJ must've fallen asleep." She smirks and looks up at the sky not sure of another question or if she ever wants her to ask anything else.
