Realistic or Modern Same Love

Kim smiled seeing her lie, but didn't say anything about it, "alright, but drink some of these, she handed the girl the pepto and ginger ale and layed beside her. "So, I wanna kiss you again, but you probably taste a bit sour at the moment" she teased.

Erik smiled at Adam, setting the bacon plate down before moving to the cupboard and grabbing two plates "glad to see you got up" he teased and dished two eggs on each plate before grabbing bacon and sitting down. He noticed Adams look, and frowned. Obviously he didn't like the kiss, so Erik sat quietly and ate.

Biting the inside of his cheek due to an anxious habit, the sixteen year old rubbed his face again. "Ok..firstly, who are you? I'm Nikolai...I can't remember anything and this wasn't there before the party.." He moved his hand from his neck to show the dark spot before covering it back. "I'm just really confused." The boy admits quietly staring down at the bagel and his cooling tea. Carefully taking the cup into his hand and bringing it up to his lips, Nik sips at the warm liquid.

Alex looked at the mark while Nik showed it to him and he knew what had happened

"My name is Alex, and I am the one who gave you that mark because you gave me this"

Alex pulled his hoodie down a bit to show his own mark on his neck from where Nik had bitten him last night

Elodie Amelie Bellamy

Elodie dared to look directly at Everest as she focused on her phone. She was pretty sure that it was her entire body beating in a quick, nervous rhythm with her heart as the anxious conductor. Elodie took the time to appreciate Everest’s hair and features while she didn’t have to worry about Everest looking back at her and felt a swell of affection in between beats. In that moment, Elodie wanted nothing more than to be friends with this girl and to stay with her for as long as she could. She dared not think of the night’s end. Once Everest started the text, Elodie quickly looked away as though she’d been caught doing something she shouldn’t, though she knew Everest wasn’t looking at her at the moment. Simply the knowledge that Everest was thinking about her seemed to be enough to jumpstart the orchestra of pounding blood and shallow breaths. Why had Everest taken so long to come up with something to say? Was it even really that long, or was Elodie just looking into it too much? And the scariest bit: what would Everest say? Elodie expected something small and impersonal at first, but now she wasn’t so sure, and that frightened her. When her phone dinged, alerting her to a new message, she startled and quickly went to unlock it. The ongoing tempo of her body was making her hands shake so she curled further into herself, letting her forehead rest on her bent knees and shielding her face within the small space concealed by her body. Her breaths felt warm and loud and her phone was glaringly bright in this tiny refuge, but reassuringly so, because for the first time in a long time, there was a number in her phone that didn’t belong to Emmanuel or Milly. Elodie stared at the contents of the message for a few halting seconds, unsure of herself and, more than that, curiously thrilled. She smiled a rare, wide, unbidden thing that usually accompanied fanciful happily-ever-afters. Elodie heard Everest’s voice outside, but was too caught up in the surprising urge to hug something that she didn’t remember to actually respond. The part of Elodie that couldn’t help but wonder why, how, what was, for the moment, silenced by her internal music, louder than the infernal speakers in the house long forgotten behind her. After some deliberation, Elodie saved the new number in her phone as simply “Everest” and she proceeded to respond with the first cohesive thing that came to mind.

Everest
them
Hey, you're gorgeous, don't forget.
me
Thank you.
me
You are, too.

@ShadedRose

Nik went along drinking from the cup of tea. His eyes widened then and the blonde began to choke on his most recent sip. That had not been what he was suspecting to hear. Quickly swallowing back the liquid and sitting back in the chair, his eyes glance up to see the bite. A deep blush shows on his cheeks. "S-sorry.." He shook and stuttered all while keeping his eyes focused down on the table. He still couldn't remember any of it which was starting to annoy him. It seemed that Alex remembered more than he did. "I must have been pretty messed up." He finally confessed after a few minutes of just sitting in silence.

@The Dragon Rider

Smiling her crooked smile, Everest tried not to look anything like she felt. A weird sense of embarrassment came over her. Something she had not dealt with just about her entire life. It was odd to have this feeling out of the blue though she doesn't sweat it. I hope she isn't overthinking all of this... Becoming a bit worried now due to Elodie hiding her face out of sight, Everest can only see the faint glow illuminating her legs. At last Ev pushes all of her worries aside and glances back down to her own cellphone. It was a couple minutes before she got a text back from El and gave a quick look over at the girl to see if she is yet to unreveal herself. It was cute to Everest how she hid herself but also put her into a still worried mindset. She smirked at the thank you and then shook her head at the second text. "Why, of course I am!" She chuckled but responded to the text with a 'thanks'. After that she began to notice the number of people beginning to file out from the party house and disperse down the street in all directions. Her eyes went to the top of her phone to see the time and a light sigh left between her parted lips. It showed up as 3:47am but there just couldn't have been any way! Shrugging it off, Eve went back to enjoying the thought of having someone to actually talk to. The other people she 'knew' were mostly in it to benefit their own selves which has always bothered Everest. All she wants is true friendship and she has hopes for Elodie and her friendship. Looking back down to the screen as it vibrated, she gives a frown. Of course something like this would happen on a night like this.

@Bupkis((How do you do t
hat textmessage thingy??))

Alex shook his head

"you were fine no worse than anyone else, although your kissing is fantastic"

Finishing his coffee, he picked up a pen and held your hand writing a number.

"Give me a text sometime and we can hang out"

With a wink and a smile, Alex got up and left the cafe. Heading for home and going to bed to chill out and watch a movie

@ShadedRose

Wait...what? With his heart beat pounding in his ears now he was almost certain that he had just been called a fantastic kisser..since when did that happen!? Trying hard to think about the previous night, he just can't and looks across the table to the guy now writing his number down on his hand. "O..okay." Is all he can choke out as Alex got up. The wink doesn't go unnoticed either cause his heart sped up again. Oh God.... He shut his eyes and buried his face into the palms of his hands. When he pulls away, the number on the side of his hand and sighs.

Getting up from the table and leaving with his tea still intact, the cooling bagel was left behind with no more than a couple of bites missing. He was no longer hungry but does want to get home. Maybe there things would make a bit more sense.

Alex got home and decided to go for a shower. After about 30 minutes, he dried off and re-dressed.

Grabbing his phone and wallet, he made his way downstairs and back out the door.

Feeling somewhat human he decided to go clothes shopping while he had the left over money.

Plus he did need groceries as well.

Elodie Amelie Bellamy

Once Elodie received the text saying only “thanks,” her fingers hovered over her phone’s keyboard uncertainly. She wanted to talk to her so badly, say something to make her laugh and smile and actually like her, but as was usually the case with her, she didn’t have any words to share. Dejected and only after a few moments (or perhaps minutes, she couldn’t tell) of embarrassed deliberation, she finally conceded that perhaps Everest had sent so short a message to end the conversation. Upon this decision, Elodie reluctantly locked her phone again and let it rest, idle and dark, in her lap while she gathered her wits about her. She let her arms fall a little further down her legs and lifted her head up to breathe in the night air again, which felt cool and refreshing compared to the humid air she’d trapped in her own space. Her eyes felt sensitive and watery, looking into the night sky, and for the first time that night, she became aware of her own fatigue. To her surprise, it disappointed her greatly. Ignoring it (and stifling a self-conscious yawn), she tilted her head and began to notice the people leaving, drunk, stumbling, laughing, holding each other up. Elodie hoped they didn’t notice her - didn’t notice them - sitting alone in this backyard. Elodie wanted to be left alone, pretending as though this little area she’d claimed with Everest was theirs and theirs alone (never mind the fact that it wasn’t their house). Not that any passersby would notice or care about two girls sitting alone and talking, but that didn’t change anything for Elodie. In the back of her mind, she wondered what time it was; normally, she was a little compulsive when it came to checking the time, so she always knew just when and where she was, perhaps terrified of being late or simply losing herself. At the moment though, it couldn’t matter less to her. Whatever time it was, it would be a further disappointment, that much she knew. In lieu of that, she found her gaze floating over to Everest, who, to her relief, wasn’t looking at her anymore. After a second, Elodie noticed that something wasn’t quite right. Her breath hitched; she didn’t know what to do, and that indecision was terrifying. If she could, she would’ve called Everest’s name, make her frown go away, but she couldn’t; nor could she reach out to ground her again. The panic welled up in her chest. She wanted to help so damn badly. Her hands dropped from her legs to clench the grass on either side of her, trying to keep herself together, trying to figure out what to do. Help Everest you stupid look at her she needs you she needs someone what if she doesn’t want you to what if she wants you to go away there’s probably nothing you can do anyway it’s not your business leave her alone but - Part of her was aware of how pathetic this form of communication (if it could even be referred to as such) was, considering all she was doing was desperately watching Everest, but it’s all she knew how to safely do. Please be okay please tell me please it’s okay it’s safe I want to help tell me maybe I should just leave

((Hot, hot, hot *fans self* lol. Perfect choice~))

Half way home he stopped and found himself no longer wanting to head back to the empty house where everyone would be gone. Normally that would seem welcoming to him but right now something was making him feel anxious and a bit off. Nikolai was quick to figure out where to go, however. One of the only places where he likes to spend his 'lonely' time: the park.

Walking slowly with his hands shoved wrist deep into the pockets, he closes his eyes briefly. Maybe if he were to have any friends then he could be talking to them right now but instead he is left with some stranger's number. A stranger who he had a make-out session with. The same stranger who had openly suggested them hanging out. Gah! This is not okay.... At the park he plopped down onto the bench and leaned forward while running his fingers through his hair in a somewhat soothing way.

@The Dragon Rider

Alex pushed the cart around the store, picking up different items on a list he had written out.

Since his parents traveled so much, he more or less lived alone so shopping was a task that had to be done.

He came up the cashier and bagged and paid for his things before heading out to his car to loads them up.

He checked his phone a few times for any sign of a text from Nik, but none had come in.

He was slightly disappointed but chose not to think about it too much.

@ShadedRose

Scarlett picked up a shopping basket and headed into the aisle. More or less, she wouldn't have dared go to the party at that mansion last night. She really wasn't one for getting high and drinking unnesssecary cocktails. If she did go, however, she might've found the one thing she lacked: Love. Pushing the thought aside, she grabbed a box of cereal and a small packet of cookies. At least back at home she had several unfinished books to read.

@ShadedRose[/URL]
Sitting in silence seemed to work for a little while until the loneliness set in. He sighed and finally made a decision on whether to contact the guy he had no memory of what-so-ever and yet met at the party. Typing in the number he had been given, Nikolai just stares at the screen. Everything was weird right now but it doesn't stop him from sending the text. 'Hey, it's Nik...' staring once again at the lines as the message attempted to send he almost wishes that it won't. Maybe his phone would die in that very second before sending and he could just go home and pass out. If only..but it sent nevertheless.

@ShadedRose
There was nothing Everest could do besides sit in the eery silence in which she had unintentionally created. She was unable to register anything but the fact that the text that she had just received was not from Elodie. If only it had been the girl sitting just a few inches away and not the tramp Everest had been trying so hard to escape. Staring at the screen, Everest hardly appears to be breathing much less comprehending the situation. Dad is in the hospital. Dad is in the hospital. Dad is in the motherfucking hospital! Her mind suddenly sent the memo in to allow her to breath again and a sharp gasp of air left her. A small amount of trembling set in though she would refuse to let Elodie see her so shaken up, Everest quickly stuffed her phone away and looks up slowly. Her eyes were less enthusiastic but still hers, nonetheless. She had hit a hiccup and was about to derail fast so without thinking it over too much she decided to speak before she couldn't anymore. "Don't worry, everything's a-okay!" Her words came out in a sort of pained way which she soon realized and shook her head briefly. "Hey, I'm okay so don't give me such a worried look." She smiled but it was only partially genuine. The reason it was genuine to a certain degree was because she was actually being concerned over. It had been ages since someone truly cared like that, other than her father. It made her chest feel less empty yet the empty quickly re-submerged as her phone vibrated once more.

Reaching a tentative hand into her pocket one more time to pull the phone back out, Everest's chest filled with dread, the emptiness being poured into and swollen by the awful thoughts and ideas of what this new message would hold. As she lifted the object to look at the contents, another heart throbbing moment occurred. He's going straight into surgery, it was a car accident. Come quick.

Dammit, Dammit. Dammit!!! Screaming on the inside, Eve quickly stands up. Her legs shake at the sudden rise and ache due to them having fallen asleep after their time sitting on this stranger's lawn. Remembering that she is not alone, Everest looks down at Elodie a bit more in a panicked fashion and takes in a deep, shaky breath. Her eyes were starting to mist. This isn't good... Wiping at her face in a nonchalant way and then looking back to Elodie, she reaches a hand out to see if she would want help up. "I have to go, do you have a ride home? I can make a stop on my way, it's no problem." Her voice wavered just slightly then tightened as she swallowed hard. She needed to get away from this place and to the hospital but to be honest she didn't want to be there either. Not alone. Being alone wouldn't sit well after she had just experienced such an eventful night even if it only consisted of talking and much sitting. She would be treasuring this short time with the girl, Elodie. Anyway, she makes hopes that the fresh air would keep her from stinking of alcohol too badly..it didn't help that the motorcycle she was currently in possession of was not hers nor does she have her license at this moment.

If there was one thing Elodie did really well, it was panic. That could be interpreted a couple of ways: she was easy to fright and quick to escalate into panic, that was true. What was also true was that she developed strategies to coping with it and she became adept at noticing the signs of swelling panic. Sometimes panic attacks came upon her at the worst times and to avoid further humiliation, it was useful to know when those times were. There were times where she felt simmering anxiety, but couldn’t foresee it rising to a crisis level, and there were times where she immediately noticed a trigger. What she was not so used to was observing this panic in other people. Normally she was so introspective and consumed by her own anxiety, that she only paid attention to herself. It was strange for her to see the signs of her own panic in someone else. Other people had anxiety too, she knew that logically, but it was like having an out of body experience - empathizing on a whole different and far more personal level. How much of that could be attributed to Elodie’s own experience and how much could be attributed to her budding fondness for Everest, Elodie wasn’t sure. One way or another, Elodie resented how unfamiliar this position was to her. She tried to quell her own panic (as a response to that resentment) long enough to think about what she’d want someone to do for her in this situation. It didn’t matter that she didn’t know the trigger. Sometimes it was better not to. Some of the things that triggered her (a jack-in-the-box, really?) were very simple and innocuous. What mattered was the anxiety itself and Elodie knew that better than anyone. She saw and heard overcompensation when she saw it and the most overwhelming instinct controlling her right now, rivaling the constant presence of her anxiety, was to help.

Elodie’s eyes followed Everest as she stood, trembling, and stared at her proffered hand. She wanted to take it, naturally. And she tried, too. Letting go of the grass beneath her, she lifted her hand halfway before her own quivering got too bad and she stopped. Hoping Everest felt the sincerity of her unspoken apology just from Elodie staring sadly at her hand, Elodie lowered her hand again to push herself to her feet. Her car was still parked out front and she hadn’t done any drinking so yes, she did have a ride home - her own. But her heart had sunk and she couldn’t help the dejected drag of her body as she wrapped her arms around herself and nodded her head. It felt unfinished. She couldn’t just
leave Everest here, not like this. But that was selfish and she knew it. Everest needed to be given the option, not have it forced upon her. Elodie retrieved her phone once more and sent a text to Everest (trying to ignore how awkward it was, considering their proximity):

Everest
me
I have a car and I don’t have to be home tonight. Do you want me to follow you?

It took no thought on Elodie’s part. That text message alone was one of the most reckless and considerate things Elodie could ever remember doing. Wouldn’t Emmanuel be thrilled?

@ShadedRose

Alex was about to pull out of the car park when his phone buzzed.

Stopping the car he opened the phone and smiled at Nik's text

"Hey stud, feeling any better?, you did not look the best"

He text back as he put the phone down and left the parking lot, heading for home.

@ShadedRose

Everest stayed still and smiled slightly at Elodie's decline in accepting the help up. It was made clear by her expression that she meant no offense and that was enough to make Ev understand the action. She wouldn't be able to have held it against Elodie even if she had wanted to. El was being nothing but kind in this situation and it was a shock that she had yet to abandon Everest after her sudden rise and change in mood. Even as Everest was in the midst of crumbling Elodie still stood next to her in silence. El's silence may have easily been the sole reason that Ev was able to stand so calmly and quietly gather her thoughts together. She needed to get to the hospital but would wait for a response from her friend. "Everything is a-okay!" She replays that phrase at least half a dozen times before bowing her head to stare down at the ground. Her chest muscles tightened as the wait seemed to extend much longer than she would have wished.

The sound of her phone going off again gives Everest another dreaded feeling and squeezing her eyes closed before re-opening them, the message was not from the hospital texter, it was from Elodie. Somehow Everest had missed Elodie texting right beside her; she must really have been drowned in thought. Glancing first to El then unlocking her phone to read the message through, she gave a muffled sound before turning to look back at El. "You..sure?" Those@The Dragon Rider

Alex smiled as he read the text when he pulled into his drive. Typing on the phone as he made his way inside and began to put the groceries away.

"Awwwh poor baby, why don't you come over and I can make you something to eat, im great in the kitchen ;) "

He smiled as he went about cleaning up his place as he waited for Nik to text back, he was not going to lie in that he wanted Nik to call over.

Alex was not known for being in serious relationships but he wanted whatever this was with Nik to get serious.

@ShadedRose

He was being invited to this guy's house? No way had that ever happened flat out. It made hi think it over for a bit. The text sitting frozen on his screen waiting to be replied to. It would have made no sense if Nik were to abandon this invitation so after a minute of thinking everything over and picturing all that could come of this, he realizes that it's mostly harmless. Alex seemed cool enough and if he really was inviting Nikolai over then it would be stupid of him to decline. Slowly, his fingers typed out his text. 'Okay but I don't have your address so you'll have to send it over.' This could be the one thing he'd done besides the party that was even a little reckless. After all he couldn't remember much about Alex anyway.

@The Dragon Rider

Alex typed out the address and text it over to Nik. He then set about cooking.

Alex loved too cook and he was always to be found in the kitchen.

he was not going to deny that he was nervous, he really liked Nik.

Shaking it off he set about starting to cook.

@ShadedRose

Nik read the address but had little to no idea where that was. He was fortunate enough to have a map on his phone though and after typing in the given address, he found himself on the move. Luckily it wasn't but a few blocks from his current location so walking it wouldn't be too bad. Sliding his glasses on to shield his eyes from the light, Nik quietly set on his next adventure. His mind was circling around the thought of how much of a mess he looks. Maybe he would just wash up at his house first? Looking at the time he shakes his head. It would be rude to show up later than expected but then the idea came up that maybe he could just shower there? It would depend on how comfortable he was getting there and on Alex, of course. Sighing, Nik kept walking.

Once there, Nikolai looked around a bit nervous about being here but stayed still long enough to knock then fiddle with the sunglasses after removing them. He wasn't exactly certain why he had agreed to come here but things would work out hopefully.

Elodie Amelie Bellamy

It took Elodie no thought at all to nod her head. Of course she was going. It wasn’t a question. Elodie wondered at her own uncharacteristic spontaneity, but decided it was a matter for a later date - obviously, there were more pressing issues at hand. Her primary concern at the moment was Everest and everything else would come later - including, hopefully, finding out the details of what happened (Elodie following Everest to visit someone in the hospital whom she didn’t know was just adding fuel to her own confused fire). Actually… as she picked up a brisk pace to follow Everest to the street where her car was parked (and, as she soon found out, Everest’s bike was too), she spared her phone a quick glance only to realize that she’d missed a call from Emmanuel. A few, actually. She hit the button to call him back as she climbed into her car. The phone connected to the bluetooth in her car, so she’d be able to talk and drive without distraction. As she buckled her seatbelt and the phone rang loudly, she watched Everest don her helmet and take off like a bat out of hell. Elodie hastened to follow. The car wasn’t quite as easily maneuverable as the bike, giving Elodie a bit of a disadvantage, but the roads were relatively empty at this time of night anyhow so she wasn’t too concerned. She was so focused on Everest that it took her a while before she even heard Emmanuel shouting her name over the speakers in her car.

“ELLIE?!” he said. Elodie winced with guilt.

“Oui. I’m here. Sorry,” she said, pulling the wheel so that her headlights illuminated Everest in front of her.

“What in the
hell…

“Em,” she said, interrupting. He went silent. It was silent and still in the car and outside too, save for the sounds of Everest’s bike. “I’m going to the hospital. It’s not me; I’m fine. I’m visiting someone.”

Emmanuel paused, presumably with incredulity. They both knew this was perhaps one of the oddest things she’d ever said to him. “Dare I ask who?”

“Have you ever met someone, Emmanuel, and knew that they were going to change your life?”

A pause of consideration. “Who’d you meet, Ellie?”

“Her name is Everest,” Elodie said, hearing the reverent notes in her tone that she couldn’t help. “She’s okay, too. I guess someone she cares about must’ve had some sort of emergency.”

“You don’t even know what happened?” Emmanuel asked. When Elodie didn’t respond, he sighed. “I guess you
are an adult now, and a perfectly responsible one at that. Just let me know what’s going on when you can, okay? I’m still responsible for you.”

“I know, Em. I’m sorry I didn’t answer sooner. I’m sorry if I scared you.”

“It’s okay, Ellie. Stay with Everest. I suppose she needs you now.”

“Yeah.”

“Okay, I’ll let you go. One last thing, Ellie.”

“Yes?”

“Told you so.”

With that he hung up and Elodie couldn’t help chuckling, despite the situation. Once she was alone and isolated in her car, she was able to relax a great deal. People scared Elodie and always had and though she’d gotten much better (she used to hide in closets before Emmanuel came for her, and sometimes even after moving in with Emmanuel until he learned how to best manage company), she still couldn’t help the lingering fear. Any solitary place was a sanctuary, including her car. Some part of her vaguely wished that Everest were in the car with her, the two of them going for a joyride at a quarter to four in the morning instead of hightailing it to the hospital. Logically, she knew that even if Everest
had wanted to ride shotgun with her, she wouldn’t’ve been able to talk much if at all. But she’d have an excuse not to look Everest in the eye, so she’d smile and enjoy her company anyway.

Elodie stopped entertaining the fantasy when she pulled up alongside Everest in the deserted parking lot. There were harsh lights on by the entrance to the hospital but Elodie couldn’t decide if that particular feature made the whole dreary setting lonelier or not. Except that she wasn’t alone and neither was Everest if she could do anything about it. As Elodie exited her car to walk over to Everest, she couldn’t help but think that Everest looked far too alone in that moment for her liking.

@ShadedRose (I have not read this over at all; sorry, I'm so sleepy!)

Thirty. Forty. Fifty. Sixty. The number on her gauge just kept going up as Everest accelerated the speed forgetting entirely about the company tailing her. Everything was unsure in this short time driving to the hospital. Her eyes were closed at one point long enough for her to think all of this to be nothing more than a nightmare. She would open up her eyes and find a glass of half empty chocolate milk on her nightstand in her bedroom and the sun would just be starting to peek in through the curtains. Unfortunately when her eyes were re-opened the only light shining was the reflection of Elodie's headlights in her rear view mirror and the blurry light posts that shone dimly onto the street. Looking down to her speed it's a bit of a shock that she'd hit eighty miles in such a quiet neighborhood and El was still following behind her. I'll have to tell her sorry when we get there.. Everest thought with a pang of guilt. She hadn't meant to fall into a daydream while driving and being followed by the only person who seemed to care right now. Of course, no one else would know about her father's accident at three whatever in the morning. No, no one except for his bitch of a sister who must have been located before the teen. Everest never liked giving out her cell number to the hospitals and all. Her father being the exact same. In fact, he'd probably try raising hell when finding out where he even is. It wouldn't be too pleasant for the nurses though Eve does smile at the thought of her father going into a rage about why he was being restrained after trying to leave his hospital room. He'd be completely out of it and then be a grump about anything they would try telling him. Ev smiled more and for a minute there she nearly stops the bike, confused as to why she's going to the hospital in the first place. Shit..pull your self together!

Accelerating to around fifty while passing through the local neighborhoods, she hardly acknowledges the passing stop signs unless noticing Elodie falling behind again. They made it to their location less than twenty minutes later. As soon as the bike was parked in the ghostly parking lot the engine was killed and her headlight cut itself off. Her body stayed glued to the seat as if it were the only thing real in these few seconds. It wasn't until El's car door shutting jolted her back into the 'now' which eased her to swing her leg over the side and dismount the motored vehicle. Her helmet leaving her head felt weird and she wavered for a moment while trying to keep herself from becoming too lightheaded. The harsh yet brilliant white lights forming around the hospital entrance give Ev a sense of dread as they have always done. To others it may have been hope but not to Everest.

Walking up to the building with Elodie near, Everest hesitated to walk past the divided doors. She looked inside and could feel the cold air that is normally present in these settings. Goosebumps formed on her forearms and neck and something weird came to her attention; tears. Somehow she had not realized it but there were a couple tear marks going down each side of her face. How someone could cry and not notice it was beyond Everest but that wasn't of true importance right now so without dwelling on that thought for much longer she quickly rubbed at her face and glanced to Elodie. I'll be surprised if she sticks around much longer..I'm pathetic. She hoped that the tear stains had gone unnoticed though if not, oh well.

The person on the opposite side of the counter looked up at Everest and Elodie then scanned over Everest in a distasteful way, obviously not agreeing with Ev's current choice of clothing. This caused Everest to zip up her leather jacket and gives a quiet cough. "We're here to see Mr. (Everest's last name)..he's my dad." The woman looked between Everest and Elodie again before looking back to her computer screen and typing in the name. She nodded her head soon after. "Oh, the guy who got hit by that truck? Quite unfortunate, I do hope that he will be alright. Anyway, he's sleeping now. Won't be up til later in the morning. You might as well go home and sleep, that's what that other woman did." The 'other woman' was Everest's aunt who Ev also previously referred to as the 'bitch'. A shaky sigh came from Everest as she seemed to shrink from her usual confident exterior. She suddenly saw things as terrifying. What would happen if her father really did die? What would she do then? Tears could be seen catching the light as they tried escaping from their watery prison but no way was she going to cry again. Not here; not in front of Elodie; not tonight. "I'm staying." Was her final response but then something or rather someone came to mind. Eve turned to look at Elodie and smiled weakly. She was tiring quickly though wouldn't be sleeping any tonight. "I'm so sorry for letting you follow me..it really was just a waste of gas...I'll pay you back. You outta get home, there you'll have an actual bed to sleep on." In truth Everest wished Elodie would stay right there next to her all night. They could be completely silent and Ev would still feel less alone than originally. It was going to be a long night but it would be especially horrible for her to ask El to stay there all morning just for nothing. There was literally nothing that Everest could offer her yet she had agreed to follow her all the way to the hospital. Maybe there was a reason Everest Armstrong met Elodie Bellamy. Just maybe.

@Bupkis (Psshh! There were only a few errors here and there xP I still love your work no matter your sleepy state. I hope this is alright, I too am tired)

Oh, and your post was so cute and emotional-ish lol. Like the last sentence and the phone call >,< I loved it all <3

Alex had been busy in the kitchen when he heard the door. Wiping his hands on the apron he was wearing, he made his way to the front door and opened it. Giving a smile

"Hey nik, come on in"

He smiled and held the door open and followed inside.

"So the kitchen is straight through here if you want to join me"

He gave a smile and headed back into the kitchen and resumed what he was doing with the cooking. Stirring pots and checking the food over.

Elodie Amelie Bellamy

Elodie found herself swaying on her feet, disoriented, as she followed Everest to the doors. She was exhausted and it was beginning to catch up with her. Normally she kept a very punctual sleeping schedule though not for any real reason aside from a fondness for being up early in the morning and general, cozy fatigue at night. That said, she hadn’t been planning on staying up quite this late or being quite this active at this time of night, and having been up early that morning, she was beginning to feel the effects. But she pushed it to the back of her mind as they entered, the chilly air raising goose bumps on Elodie’s skin. She was grateful for the startling wakeup though as she followed Everest in. Perhaps if she’d been a little more attentive and alert, she would’ve been more attuned to Everest’s emotions; as it was, Elodie was just focusing on staying upright and not dragging her feet.

In this condition, she barely registered what was being said. Somehow, she was finding that she was far more exhausted now than she had been before the drive over. All considered, she probably shouldn’t’ve been driving, but she hadn’t been feeling it quite so much while behind the wheel - likely due to being preoccupied. Now that the adrenaline was wearing off a little bit, though… Dimly, she heard, but didn’t process, the brief interaction between Everest and the woman behind the desk. It seemed so distant, so far away as to be unreal. Elodie did have the good fortune of not being attached whatsoever to this accident, but it was her attachment to Everest that kept her standing. When Everest turned to address her, Elodie blinked slowly for a few moments, vision bleary. Finally, Elodie waved her hand in a vague gesture that was meant to convey that there was no need for apology, reparations, or a bed to sleep on. She wasn’t sure how successful she was in getting all that information across in one slurred movement, but nonetheless she stayed right where she was, looking somewhat dazed.

If they were staying there all night, as Everest had seemed to resolve to do and thus Elodie would be as well, then they ought to get comfy. Or as comfortable as possible. Trying to get Everest on board with this plan, Elodie reached out tentatively to guide her towards a nearby waiting area (complete with vending machines and potted plants), only to hesitate about touching her at the last moment. Instead, Elodie skimmed her fingertips across Everest’s arm, just lightly enough to hopefully get her attention, and pivoted to head straight for the empty chairs. Luckily there weren’t many people around at this time of night, so Elodie plopped heavily into the closest chair, toed her shoes, and drew her knees up to her chest as she’d been at the party. With her arms wrapped loosely around her legs, she turned her head to rest her cheek against her knees and let her eyes close. The relief was so overwhelming as to almost be painful, but at least her head wasn’t swimming anymore. She couldn’t sleep like this and didn’t hope to, but in any case it was more comfortable than standing. It would be nice if she had a book, but she had her phone (how long would her battery last?) and Everest, assuming Everest actually joined her in the waiting area.

@ShadedRose (this isn’t my best either, sorry. But you’re too kind to me, thank you! I really just want to get replies out to you so that you’re not waiting on me too long.)

((Some how I deleted my damn post from before so, I'm real sorry about that.))

Nik smiled in return to the friendly face opening the door. He was still a bit nervous by this 'hanging out' deal but seeing how natural Alex acts puts Nikolai's anxiety to rest. "It's smelling good." He comments after a bit of a pause on his behalf. His eyes were too busy looking all around to actually reply, whether needed or not. "Uhh.." He stopped in the entrance to the kitchen and glanced around. Never having cooked much else than grilled cheese and ramen noodles, Nik shakes his head and watches from afar. "You know that you really don't have to do this, right?" Looking at the different pots makes him feel guilty that he was the one to cause this. How could someone enjoy cooking this much? He hd no clue but after a few moments he could tell that Alex really did enjoy it.
