Magnar

King of the Underworld
Please post your character sheets for the game in the following format:

Name:
Profession / Archetype:
What role or function will you be looking to fulfil on the ship (i.e. Cook, Navigator, Guard etc.)
Age:
Skills:
Choose three skills for your character. These should broadly be in line with the role that you are looking to fulfil (for example I would expect a Guard to have Armed and Unarmed Combat as skills)
Strengths: What are your character's strengths? See below examples for a character I put together for another game as a guideline for what I am looking for. Around three is sufficient:

1) Cain is a jack of all trades -- master of none. Perhaps the product of a misspent youth, however there are few situations that he does not have some passing knowledge of. Picking locks? Check. Hotwiring? Done it. He is a useful auxiliary person to have around, just don't ask him to fight.

2) Master of the silver tongue. Cain certainly knows how to use his charm to devastating effect. With that silver tongue of his, there are few situations that he cannot twist to his advantage or talk his way out of. It is what has kept him alive so far.

3) Deceptively tough. Despite being slight of frame, Cain is deceptively tough. He can, and has, taken a beating in his life both mentally and physically. For one such as him to survive in this tough world, he has to be. No matter how many times you keep beating him down, he comes back -- again and again and again. That mental fortitude is invaluable in the apocalyptic wasteland he lives in.

Weaknesses: Similarly, what are your characters weaknesses? I'm looking for three of these also - please see below example for weaknesses I used for another character:

1) Haunted. Cain is haunted by the ghost of someone he cares deeply for, in a spiritual and emotional sense. A girl, Katy, whom he loved very deeply. The circumstances of her death is something he will never speak of, yet it is something that haunts his every waking moment, and something that he blames himself for. Until he puts that particular ghost to rest, he will never be free of his demons.

2) Addictions. Cain suffers from withdrawals. Needing to take things to block out the horrible nightmarish visions of his parents and families death, and over time he became more and more dependent on them to get by.

3) Self-Loathing. Cain's self-loathing is complex, and it runs very, very deep inside of him. It was what caused him initially to descend into the life of debauchery and excess that he lived prior to the rise of the dead. Seeking an exit from the hopeless, cold world that he lived in, what he found was the reality of the situation he became trapped in was far, far worse than the one he left behind. Yet, he does not know how to escape from it.....

Dark Shadow: Choose a Dark Shadow for the character. A list of these can be found here: Fantasy - Horrors of the Shadowy Unknown: Ship of Horrors Lore Thread.

Greatest Fear: Choose a Greatest Fear for the character. See here for guidelines on Greatest Fears: Fantasy - Horrors of the Shadowy Unknown: Ship of Horrors Lore Thread.

Appearance: Provide me with a written description of your characters appearance. Please include a picture of your character with the application.

Personality: I would like a couple of paragraphs providing an overview of your characters personality.

Background: Tell me of your characters backstory. This should include the following:

1) An event in your characters life that caused them to want to sail the seas
2) Something they have done that they are proud of
3) Something they have done that they are not proud of
4) A notable event in your character's past that makes them stand out -- an act of heroism for example or something else noteworthy

For the most part I am happy for you to invent places and other characters for use in your backstory, all I ask is that each of your characters should end in a port city called Vost. This is where they will see the advertisement for the Endurance's voyage.

Name: Michaela Honor (Goes by Honor)
Profession / Archetype: Navigator (Also open to combat, see skills/strengths)
Age: 32
Skills:
1. Very skilled with maps, and has a very developed sense of direction, even without a map.
2. Trained in combat, specializing in melee weapons.
3. Can almost turn off her emotions temporarily, and always appears calm even if she isn't.
Strengths:
1. Melee weapon combat, being especially skilled with daggers. Due to a rough childhood, she knows almost all the weak spots on a human's body and is not fazed by having to end a life.
2. Honor dosen't do emotions, or regrets. She is never guilty, and never has regrets for her actions, choosing instead to eval what she could've dibe better. She is skilled in negotiation due to the fact that she never appears frightened or intimidating; Even if she is breaking down inside, she keeps a perfect poker face. This makes her very hard to read.
3. Honor does not fall prey to praise, or pride. Due to just a general hate for herself, she always pushes herself to do better than everyone else, which plays as a weakness and a strength. She is immune to praise and therefore can't be manipulated easily.
Weaknesses:
1. Honor is extremely prone to her dark shadow. (I will add more once I decide for sure what it will be.)
2. She is aggressively competitive at times, and will endanger others in the crew to do better than them. She is not a fantastic team player, viewing herself as the worst member of any team and therefore seeking to change that.
3. Herself. Honor has tendencies to bottle up her emotions, and has a very hard time reading herself at times. Using her poker face as a mask, she can only tell what she's feeling if it's very extreme. This can also be a strength for her.
Dark Shadow:
As of now, possessed, but this might change. (Is it ok if she has occasional visions due to her possessor having small control over her? Not prophetic or anything, just seeing things that would freak her out.)
Greatest Fear:
Losing control of herself, though she is already fairly close to this.
Appearance:
Long, windswept hair with unnatural curls and waves due to sea salt. She has muddy green eyes and a light tan with freckles due to living near the sea and spending most of her time outside. She has a scar cutting through her right eyebrow, and small scars peppering her arms. She usually chooses to wear lightweight, convenient clothes that allow her to move quickly. She typical wears something similar to this; A tank top with shorts, with knee-high boots and several guns, daggers, a small bottle of cyanide, and ammunition stocks strapped to her thigh. She usually has her hair in a messy bun or slicked back into a ponytail.
1546695184301.png
Personality:
Honor was a lighthearted, cheerful person before her possession. Since she was possessed, she has become cold and hateful, having little to no friends or loved ones. She is desperate for someone to understand her, but hides all her feelings away. Coming across as emotionless and apathetic, she convinces herself she doesn't need to care about what others think of her or what she does.
Though she will sometimes sabotage crew mates in order to get to the top, she always has a reason. If she gets attached to anyone, she will willingly risk her life for them, though this is rare. Honor chooses to spend most of her time alone, below decks if she's not navigating. She is passionate about her job, and will do anything to stay part of the crew.
Background:
Growing up with her parents essentially out of the picture, Honor grew hateful of herself. Since her parents were never around, she began to think it was because of her. One night, she set out in search of food. Honor came across an alley with food set aside. She kept walking since it was rotten. Soon she passed by the town's makeshift graveyard and cut herself on the dead roses. Suddenly, everything went black. When the little light from the stars and moon returned, Honor's cut was almost healed. Thinking nothing of it, she continued walking towards the coast. As she kept walking, voices started whispering, then shouting in her head. Young Honor, not knowing what was happening to her, held her head in the seawater until the voices stifled. Ever since that event, she has wanted to sail the seas as it provides some relief to her possession.
As she grew up, she forced herself to study maps and get a small education, leading her to become passionate about navigating. She gained a reputation as a formidable mapmaker. That being the high point of her life, she almost had forgotten about her infliction. Once if came back, she reached out in hope of discovering the cause of the voices in her head. She began dealing with shady witch doctors, not knowing that she was possessed. Honor would provide them with deadly poisons she had collected throughout her childhood, selling all but a small bottle of cyanide. Her reputation now ruined, she moved to a seaside city called Vost, where she served as a nun for a small amount of time. Having learned she was possessed, she attempted a solo exorcism on herself. It failed, and she has scars up and down the arms from the experience. Moving farther towards the coast, she saw the ad for the Endurance's voyage and eagerly signed on.

oriley.jpg
Name: Gwendolyn 'Gwen' O'Riley
Profession / Archetype: Cook
Age: 23

Skills:

1.) Due to her cooking experience as a child, she has a heightened sense of both smell and taste.

2.) Gwen can craft high quality meals with little ingredients, and knows how to make small rations last.

3.) She is capable of constructing theater-quality clothing or props, aiding her quest in hiding her identity from unwanted prying eyes.

Strengths:

1.) Having spent the latter years of her adulthood in hiding, Gwen is a master of stealth and deception. She can traverse difficult or crowded territory seemingly unnoticed, and is capable of crafting elaborate disguises, given enough time.

2.) She is quick and agile, relying on the environment to escape a hazard, or maneuver her way around a fight.

3.) Gwen is the queen of social graces, being able to tailor her personality to an individual to gain their trust.

Weaknesses:

Night Terrors - Gwen is plagued by terrifying nightmares of her abusive youth, seeing visions of her dead father. As a result, she tends to get very little sleep.

Alcoholic - They say we all turn into our parents eventually. For Gwen, this couldn't be more true-- Like her father, she's taken to drinking to quell her aching heart. When she's not cooking, she can usually be found with a bottle in hand.

Lovesick - During her travels, Gwen came across many heartthrobs she inevitably had to leave behind. She craves affection, almost to a fault-- Overlooking red flags if it means true love; The one thing she's ever truly wanted.

Dark Shadow: Fugitive. Gwen has been on the run for years, constantly escaping an underground gambling boss in his hunt for reparations.

Greatest Fear: Trapped in tight spaces. Because of the abuse she received as a child, Gwen now harbors an intense fear of small, closed-off spaces.

Appearance: Gwen stands average at 5'5", with a wiry, developed frame. Her appearance is constantly changing, but her 'normal' look is that of short black hair, blue eyes, pale skin, and roundish, doll-like features. She has several long, deep scars running the length of her back from her childhood abuse. She has a single self-inflicted septum piercing, the jewelry being a small, thin piece of metal. She carries little on her person at any given moment; A small pocket knife, a leather pouch with some gold, and a box of matches. Her clothes tend to be rather average. Otherwise, she tries not to stand out, lest she be found by those she's hiding from.
clothes.jpg
Personality: Gwen carries herself with a pleasant temperament, but is overly cautious when meeting new people, usually opting to listen to what they have to say to get a feel for their personality. Like most, she has a side to herself she almost never lets others see; A saddened, troubled girl with a haunting past, slowly depriving her of both sleep and sanity. Though she is capable of gaining another's trust by initially coming off as friendly or unassuming, she is always hesitant to offer them the same. As such, she may come off as coy or aloof when speaking, but has never had an issue making new friends. She has no qualms about telling someone off, and has, on several occasions, been the cause of violent conflicts in the past, despite not being much of a fighter herself. She enjoys the company of others, but rarely let's them see her 'true self,' for fear she'll have to leave them again; A fear she is all too accustomed with. Gwen loves playful banter, and loves to laugh in general-- If you tell a bad joke, chances are she's the only one who laughs. There are times where she can be playful or even childish, given the circumstances, coming off as a 'little sister' type to those she looks up to. Gwen presents herself has someone strong, independent, and determined. At heart, though, she's an old soul still trying to discover who she really is, having spent years pretending to be other people.

Background:

Gwen was born to a set of traveling actors, Hector and Martha O'Riley. For most of her childhood, they traveled the countryside, performing small plays at equally small venues. Gwen never knew one stable home, making friends wherever she went, only to leave them behind eventually. As an only child, she would be in charge of most of the housework-- The cooking, the cleaning, all the manual labor her parents refused to handle. As time wore on, and Gwen grew from child to teen, she was made to participate in their parents work; Both as an actor, and as a stagehand. She would stitch together costumes, and build small props or prosthetics. Life was difficult for Gwen, never knowing a 'normal' childhood, but she had little reason to complain. With food in her stomach, a bed to sleep in, and the opportunity to see the world, she never once objected to this lifestyle.

Until the abuse began. The term 'starving artist' could never be more accurate; In their glory days, the O'Riley's had formed a small cult following that were present at nearly every show, but as the years flew by, so did the people's interest. The shows became smaller. The pay weaker. The food scarcer. Soon, Gwen's father got into gambling-- Spending the last of their families coin in hopes of turning out a profit. But, what small wins he did accumulate, were spent on alcohol. Hector became a drunkard with a rampant gambling addiction, and it didn't take long before his wife and child received the brunt of his anger. He would viciously beat and scream at the only people he had left in the world; Locking Gwen in a small cupboard of their caravan for hours at a time. This abuse continued well into her young-adulthood..

..That is, until she finally had enough. At the age of 19, having suffered her fathers right hand long enough, she came up with a plan to poison her father. After purchasing some ingredients for dinner one night, she crafted an odorless, colorless, and tasteless poison, slipping it into her fathers stew. Hector died in his sleep later that night, and almost immediately Gwen's mother knew what she had done. At first, she shunned her daughter, but came to understand she did it to protect them. The mother and daughter eventually settled in the last town of their travels, acquiring jobs nearby-- Gwen as a barmaid for a local tavern, and her mother as a late-night performer. Though, Hector's gambling arrears came to haunt them soon enough. Once word had spread of his death, the gambling mafioso's came looking for payment, destroying their caravan as a warning. There, they discovered Gwen's stash of poison, and put two-and-two together; Since she was responsible, she'd pay with her blood, too.

She's been running from them ever since, taking on several aliases and disguises whenever it's time to move again.

After seeing the posting for the ship Endurance in the town of Vost, her most recent temporary home, she signed up immediately as a cook, hoping this home on the sea would take her far away from her troubles..

Name: Brummett
Profession / Archetype: First Mate of the Endurance
Age: 37
Skills: Armed Combat, Ranged Combat, Agility

wBBp3FI.jpg

Strengths:

1) Brummet is the Endurance. Brummett's knowledge of the Endurance is second to none. He commands the respect of the crew of the ship, perhaps moreso than the Captain himself. He knows how to get the best out of the crew that work under him, and he certainly has their backing under most situations. If there is a crisis on board the ship, Brummett will usually know how to handle it.

2) The eternal optimist. Brummett's belief in himself and his crew is unshakeable. Irrespective of the situation that they find themselves in, he believes that they will always work through it. That optimism also rubs off on the crew and helps keep their morale up.

3) Aftereffects of addiction. Brummett's past as a recovering addict means that he has a stronger tolerance to poisonous and intoxicating substances that most others would have.

Weaknesses:

1) There is much that is hidden. Brummett's act of eternal optimism is precisely that -- an act. He finds himself in truth dealing with stresses and dangerous situations badly in secret, often struggling to restrain himself from turning to his natural cravings to satisfy his hedonistic needs.

2) I am a recovering addict. Brummett in years gone by was addicted to intoxicating substances. He finds himself struggling to suppress his inhibitions at the best of times, and can be both irritable and moody when struggling against his desires.

3) I failed my previous crew. Although he will never speak of it, Brummett hides a dark secret -- he was responsible for the death of, and was the only survivor of his previous crew. As a result, he will often push himself further and harder on the Endurance as if to overcompensate for his previous failures. One day he will likely push himself too far.

Dark Shadow: Addict

Greatest Fear: Succumbing to temptation

Appearance: Brummett is a man in his late 30's. His blond hair is beginning to show some small streaks of grey, and it is bleached by the long hours that he has spent working under the gaze of the blazing sun. His features are slightly tanned and deep green eyes sparkle almost as if he is keeping some mysterious secret to himself. One thing that Brummett certainly is agile. He quite often sprints across the deck of the Endurance with the grace of a sprightly dancer.

Usually wearing a white shirt with brown breeches, his aura is one that radiates across to the rest of the crew of the Endurance. Indeed, it often seems that when Brummett is about that they work that little bit harder.

With a smile and a wink, Brummett is nothing if not ruggedly handsome, with a charming, charismatic aura that pervades the smoothness and charm that the man's aura pervades. He takes great pains to make his appearance flawless. From his smoothly combed golden hair, to his meticulously trimmed goatee, Brummett takes a lot of pride and time over his appearance.

Indeed, his appearance is all part of the package and appearance that he wishes people to see. Everything has its place, and everything has its purpose, and for him, he would not have it any other way.

His glowing emerald eyes are full of light and promise. When one looks into them, they see the promise of adventure and a life they could not possibly imagine. They see a doorway leading into another world, a world that while, perhaps wild and dangerous, is one of excitement and infinite possibilities. His smile steals both hearts and souls, and many a fawning lady would die just to see it for only a few seconds.

Personality: There are two sides to Brummett, the side that he wishes you to see, and the truth. The image of Brummett that is portrayed to the crew is that of the perpetually cheerful man — the leader that in the absence of the ships captain is in control of the ship.

This version of Brummett is an optimist, he has a never say die attitude, he is there for the other crew members to lean on, and he will find a way to deal with any situation as it arises. He is the sort of person that inspires the crew of the Endurance and commands respect in such a way that even Captain Garvyn cannot.

It is also an illusion.

The real Brummett is a man that only ever appears when he is on his own. It is a man who is tormented by inner demons and nightmares that only he knows of. It is a man that is constantly walking on the edge, gazing down into the abyss as he struggles to resist the temptations that constantly gnaw away at his mind and sanity.

Brummett is a double edged sword. He feels trapped by his own failures and desires to make up for the terrible mistakes he has wrought in the past. He simply has to maintain that image of perfection for the rest of the crew, because the consequences of failure are too severe to even imagine. Yet, even as he struggles to maintain this illusion of control, he judges himself severely for any failure, both real and perceived.

And as he does, he slowly falls ever further into a downward spiral that he can barely keep at arms length.

It is just a matter of time now, no?

Background: Not much is known of Brummett’s early days, and if the question were to come up, then the First Mate would likely shrug it off with evasive words and a wink. The only past that people know of is that of his recent years on the Endurance. Yet there are moments that Brummett has let his guard down and divulged some aspects of his past.

Though much of his earlier days remain shrouded in mystery, the below has been gleaned from things that Brummett has let slip in conversations:

1) His early childhood was an unhappy one. Though the specifics of it are unknown, it is believed that Brummett sought a life on the seas to escape the life he lived on-shore.

2) The Endurance is not his first ship. Brummett has let slip that the crew he worked for previously are all dead now, however no one has been brave or foolhardy enough to press for more details than that.

3) It is believed that Brummett has, in his years before, had terrible problems with both drink and gambling addictions. He has left those problems long behind him now and has cleaned up his act somewhat for the ship.

As far as Brummett is concerned, when you step on board the Endurance, this is your life and home now. The past is simply that, the past, and everyone on the ship has a clean slate.

erg.jpg <-- (He looks almost exactly like this)
Name: August Clearwater
Profession / Archetype: Would prefer navigator, is also open to being a guard or doing any kind of physical labor.
Age: 19
Skills: His most often used and noticed skills are 1) He has an almost impeccable sense of direction and he's extremely talented with navigating. He's never had a chance to use these skills overseas before, however, as a result of being on the run for the better part of his lifetime. 2) He is a quick thinker and has a way of working himself out of tough situations. He's intelligent and wise beyond his years, and can pick up new skills effortlessly. 3) While he's not the most muscular, strongest fellow, he's a relentless fighter and skilled with a bow. He's never laid his hands a decent gun before, but he'd be a good shot if he did.
Strengths:

1) While August is not the strongest physically on the ship, he has a determined spirit and will not be discouraged. His skill with a bow is often used in combat situations, and he relentless and brutal with nearly any weapon.

2) His mental strength exceeds his physical abilities. He's calm in tough situations, and always around to cheer people up. Under pressure he can seem emotionless and unsympathetic, but deep down he's extremely caring and would give his life to any close friends. He views life as an adventure and is always willing for extra challenge. He handles losses and heartbreak well but shies away from speaking of any emotional weaknesses, wanting to comfort rather than to be comforted.

3) August is skilled at constructing shelters and even building weapons. He carries multiple weapons of his own design around his waist and isn't afraid to put them to use.

Weaknesses: Similarly, what are your characters weaknesses? I'm looking for three of these also - please see below example for weaknesses I used for another character:

1) While he is mentally tough, he can't bear to lose those close to him. He's angry and searching for vengeance after the death of his sister, whose brutal torture and eventual murder has never been forgiven. His mental fortitude can also be a weakness because of an inability to let people close to him in on his troubles. He feels alone but his isolation is his own doing.

2) He's prone to spiraling into dark thoughts and haunting memories. August suffers from frequent nightmares and can become snappy and irritable. He could be easily broken emotionally in moments such as these.

3) August isn't especially strong physically and he's not particularly tall or muscular. While he's skilled with weapons he could be easily overpowered in hand-to-hand combat.

Dark Shadow: Haunted

Greatest Fear: Losing those that he loves.

Appearance: August is 5'10, with dark brown hair, longer on top. When he's stressed he tends to run his hands through it, and he never really spends much time arranging it or putting any rebel strands in order. He has sea green eyes, full of life, with thick eyelashes and brows. He's slender and agile, able to run fast when needed, which is not an unfrequented occurrence. He has a pale complexion, despite living in aggressive sunlight most of the time, and possesses a warm, reassuring smile that is convincing and honest. He'll typically be seen wearing a white shirt, leather jacket, and brown cargo pants, occasionally a hat to obscure his face, and has an earring in his right ear.

Personality: August has always been a kind, empathetic person, ever willing to extend a hand to those in need. After the death of his sister, mother, and the traumatizing treatment he received from his father, however, he prefers to keep to himself, living in solitude. He tries to distance himself from close friendships and relationships, not wanting to go through the agony of loss yet again.
August is incredibly courageous, though it's not strictly obvious, and he's very dedicated to anyone who manages to get close to him. When he loves he loves deeply and this is a great source of both pain and happiness. And though he does tend to shy away from social interactions, he can be extremely charming and even seductive if he chooses, which isn't often.

Background:
August has been on the run for the majority of his years. His father was a neglectful alcoholic who often had horrible, drunken friends over. He would be locked in the cellar for days at a stretch, and forced to do hard physical labor otherwise. He was beaten and abused, dehumanized and convinced that his life was irrelevant. His entire childhood was spent in fear, hatred, and then an emotionless blur of utter defeat. August learned that you can hurt more than a person's body--you can kill their soul long before defeating their physical body. Countless times over the years he told himself he wouldn't give in, before the empty promise faded and he just accepted that it must be what he deserved.

His mother was beaten to death one particularly bad night when August was fourteen, and she died in his arms. He never cried for her, never allowed himself to grieve, but her death hit him hard enough to send him tumbling back to reality. The following night, August picked the lock on the door confining him, threw all of the food in the house into a back, along with most of the drugs and alcohol in his father's possession, and slipped out, carrying his younger sister who was too weak to walk on her own. The first few nights were difficult on his weak, underfed body, but he quickly adapted and has been living on the streets, occasionally resorting to thievery but never becoming a beggar. He resents himself for giving into his father, and is haunted by memories of his abuse. Among his greatest fears are becoming his dad, and while he has been known to drink/do drugs while in darker places than usual, he resists his addiction with a defiance that he never found in his distant father

Over the years he has made a point of rescuing others in a situation resembling his own; everything from leaving a note to assisting children and teenagers in escaping abusive parents, and he takes great pride in this fact. When August was sixteen, his sister, Callie, who he had tried so hard to protect was murdered on the streets, brutally beaten and stabbed five times in the stomach. He never quite recovered from that loss, which is the reason his Dark Shadow is haunted. He frequently dreams of her and has visions of her loving face. When he is able to interact with her, it's always painful and cut short by his inability to accept losing her. He spent days lying in the dark alleyway, unable to eat or drink, certain that he'd never learn to cope without Callie. He doesn't remember what occurred after he passed out, only that he was saved by a girl he'd rescued previously. She cared for him until he was strong enough to stand, and then August ran away again, trying to escape the demons haunting him, determined to put as much distance between him and his sister as possible.

A few years later, finds his way to Vost, a city full of opportunity and people--a good place to hide. There he sees an advertisement for Endurance, who will set sail in a matter of days, and immediately signs up, never wanting to return to the painful memories of land.

Name: Jackel 'Mutt' Garciel
Profession / Archetype: Greenhorn
Age: 19
Skills:
⚓Dedication is one of the skills this 'Mutt' withhold, never once giving up when others prod him not to.
⚓Unquoting amount of man power that comes in bursts or his attitude/emotions.
⚓Quick decision making without the possession of remorse that holds later in the future.

Strengths: What are your character's strengths? See below examples for a character I put together for another game as a guideline for what I am looking for. Around three is sufficient:

🐟 Jackel is quite an excellent swimmer for just a young boy who gotten his fresh in take with having sea-legs. Mutt will most of his short times on being near the shore, loves to go out and see the beautiful rushing deep blue that always beckons for his attention, and to be touched.

🐟 Being quick on his feet does seem like a well strength, but it doesn't equal to being quick witted. As set for most decisions that makes it life or death, Mutt will take his instinct and clutch through it no matter the results and his response? If you gotten hurt or other unpleasant experiences set from him then you should've stayed out the way.

🐟 Quite observatory is his mannerism along with the environment around the new sailor. Mutt really cannot help but to glance at people and wonder what is their thoughts along with slight actions, could be from his jumpy life as a urchin for so long? But don't be surprised if you catch his gaze suddenly just by a brief glance.

Weaknesses: Similarly, what are your characters weaknesses? I'm looking for three of these also - please see below example for weaknesses I used for another character:

🦀 Injudicious judgement is what Mutt's main kryptonite; Example: If by any chance this new sailor thinks your mannerisms seems poorly set as a decent being, he'll forever disgruntle you as the guy/girl to never be open for.

🦀 Perfectionist; Example: When Mutt gets corrected over anything he'll do whatever it takes to make it seem just right or if something seems disorganized he'll try to fix it. Even if it's simple like a uneven amount of fire buckets near the deck.

🦀 Yes-Man upon temptation; Example: Being a prideful yet arrogant young curious sea-dweller. He'll see any chance by his foolish split decisions to take up any challenge set by others, to blend in the best way he can to the crew.

Dark Shadow: Bitten

Appearance: Standing over 6'2'', lean built but his stature of hunger seems otherwise. His lips shaped plump-like with a touch of pink on the outer corners. By being in the sun most of his life, Mutt's skin is greatly tanned giving off a soft dark chocolate tone. His eyes jet black along with messy but tightly done twists that lays in different shape and sorts. Whenever his thick brows furrow, a scar would appear upon his upper forehead. He also has this large scar on his side from this incident that occurred years ago.
1546783148113.png

Personality: 'Mutt' or Jackel Garciel is much of an hot-to-cold type of person in general. Much as fresh sailor tries to hide his naive innocence about the world around him and to the seas. It seemed like a much better to offset a type of crude demeanor than to show off any vulnerability in his sense. But, there will be many moments where Mutt reacts much like child with seeing something different or out of ordinary than his pure usual days, and get's embarrassed trying to disclose it himself. The 'hot' moments is usually by his over-passionate determination with being right about anything or know he can prove so. Not to mention the self-pride plays in place for it all. Sometimes he'll excitedly exclaims about whatever happen pertaining the events, getting something done perfectly or most of the time he'll ignore your presence and go for nods in replies bland-like.

Background: Tell me of your characters backstory. This should include the following:

1) Mutt if it wasn't such a surprise to your point of view. Was brought into this world into this dampen cruel city as an orphan and mere so raised from any different guardians most of his sad but truthful life. It was like that loop of a pattern until he turned freshly 15 years old with one of his last but memorable functional home that he fell in love with the deep blue seas. His last caretaker was an lonely elder named Auntie Lina. Which lived near the beach dunes of this quite busy port and mostly made this young boy not come back into the rickety shed-like structure until near dusk for supper, same for the next day with morning and afternoon everyday.

In a sense, Mutt was extremely upset with her unusually cruel rules but after a while with listening to the waves, watching the ships with it's crew load and unload different crates..He fell absolutely into a trance with it all. Mutt would wake up bright and early just to sit among the abandoned boxes over the dock, only to spectate the crew members among different ships and try to spot out the positions each one would carry. Eventually where his nickname 'Mutt' was presented by a now retired captain because he always seemed to be at the docks 24/7 and usually hungry.

From swimming along the outer docks, to hand fishing, and even more to his excitement-- He actually walked on one of the ships to help unload some sort of cargo that some crew members were happy to give the young lad the fun and slowly helped him learn about the works of the hulls, whenever they had free time that is. At the age of 18, it felt like his time to give part from Auntie Lina and pursue more with finding out more with what lays beyond the seas.

2) Mutt is extremely proud with become his dream with being a true sailor and sure worked hard with being where he is today.

3) Although being an excellent swimmer, he is quite afraid of unknown creatures inside the waters, especially jellyfish (Had a wake up call as a young kid from getting badly stung that ached for weeks on end.)

4) Being a young lad, one of the smaller ships during a bad storm caught fire by a sharp crack of lighting at the port still being docked. Within' a heartbeat he rushed out into the cold pouring rain from the shack, slipping from the sand clumsily before diving out the dock into the rouge waves. After what seemed like a never ending battle with holding the single man that fell into the waters just to escape the fire and not drowning himself, eventually the two men both slowly dragged each other back unto land. Much to Mutt's effort he had dragged the still man under the lower dock as shelter until the rain lighten up, thankfully the man gotten attention needed since the obvious inferno on the dock. And for Aunt Jemina, she was a proud mother that night, after smacking Mutt a few times with her shoe that is.

To care about someone and to loose them.

jdfjddjjdjds.jpg

He has emerald green eyes and pale skin due to being in the dark for most his life. He stands at 6"1 and has a very muscular frame. He has straggly black hair that is always unruly and messy, he constantly has to brush his hair out of his eyes. He also has a scar running across his neck and cuts and bruises all over his body. His face is sunken and he has deep eyebags as a result of his insomnia.

Personality:

Carnage is very self destructive, putting himself in situations where he knows he'll get hurt. He very bubbly and has a dark sense of humor, one that purposefully makes people feel uncomfortable. He's one to crack jokes during serious situations. He is impulsive and acts out randomly, throwing bottles across the room or starting fights. He also quite distant, responding to any act of kindness or sympathy with laughter or a joke. He also has periods of psychosis with the changing of the moon and the moon effects his mental state. He is also very sadistic. He loves reciving and causing pain.

Background:

1) An event in your characters life that caused them to want to sail the seas:

Carnage was thrown into a mental hospital due to his psychotic episodes by his father at age 16. His mother was also prone to the psychotic episodes and it appears to have been inherited by Carnage. His father was very abusive to him and his mother before both of them were condemned to the hospital. There, he suffered abuse and mistreatment from the staff. He was locked in window-less rooms for weeks at a time, feeding on rats. This is where he gained the cut along his neck at an attempt at his life by a doctor. This eventually drove him over the edge and he murdered a doctor, framing his mother; someone of whom he had lost all symathy for. His mother was hung because of this. This is reason Carnage is a lunatic. His psychotic episodes where never worse than mood swings. His time in the hospital broke his mind and caused him to loose all self control. He was recently released after faking sanity the past three months. He is currently on the run from his father and this has led him to the city of Vost, where he sees the advertisement.

2) Something they have done that they are proud of:

Fane sanity and trick the doctors for three whole months. He considers this a great accomplishment and brags about it in everyday conversation.

3) Something they have done that they are not proud of:

Framing his mother. Somewhere in the deep, deep depths of his mind, Carnage feels regret for essentially killing his mother. However this regret is not part of his conscious thought.

4) A notable event in your character's past that makes them stand out -- an act of heroism for example or something else noteworthy:

He has prevented a little girl from being beaten by his father. While wondering around a market, he spotted a man advancing towards a small girl, around a 6 to 7 year old, with what appeared to be her mother crying on the floor holding a bloody nose. He beat the man up before eventually cracking his head against the wall, killing him. He let the girl give him a hug before running off. It is unclear if he did this for kicks or sympathy.
