~ Lady Von Turginev ~
The woman and her horse had only just gotten to the ticket seller when the army leapt into action. It seemed the circus was being shut down. She sighed and turned her horse away. Of course, the proprietor was corrupt and greedy. They always were. People didn't join the circus unless they had no other option. So, this one must have done something exceedingly illegal to be prosecuted. Maybe he was connected with a certain cult.
The distance between herself and the commotion continued to grow as she thought. On the one hand, her source of information was quickly dissipating. It was nothing short of cowardice to leave empty-handed. On the other hand, she'd managed to avoid being 'appraised' so far, and she wasn't keen to start now. She was fairly certain that she possessed no titles of note, but her family had had quite the reputation, and she didn't know how much of that had bled onto her record. So, she wanted to avoid the nobles and the soldiers and the fighting, but she would like to speak with one of the performers or hired hands. Perhaps she'd be able to visit them in jail. Or wherever the officials were taking them.
