The night before had been a very… dull one. She’d been surrounded by hundreds of sleeping bodies and every bloodeh noise in the place had felt like an anthem to her. She had sat bolt upright near to 3:30 she couldn’t take this anymore. Snagging up her ruck sack and shouldering it she had tip toed over, around and finally away from the noisy madness. She had also freed herself from the scent of wolves. She was almost positive now that she was outnumbered; there were at least 2 wolfen faunus hear. It slightly intimidated her.

After reaching the outside courtyard however she found herself free from those annoyances of both sound scent and fear to play along the edges of the fountain under the moonlight’s last rays was her task for the next 4 hours. But by the second hour she found herself finally growing sleepy. Dawn was close she knew but a few winks wouldn’t hurt her before the big test. So with that she’d found a tree and scampered her way up into it’s thickest branches and had ‘nested’ down splaying her body across a single branch allowing for on leg to lay limp down the side and her tail flopped across her waist and was snuggled against her chest.

As dawn came Demi’s magenta eyes would snap open at the first signs of life from within Beacon hall. Her sensitive ears rang with the sound of morning birds and she growled flashing her sharp canines at them while her eyes turned to mere slits “Shhh get all of your Sheesh!” She growled sitting up and swatting at a few of the leaves to create a bunch of noise and startle them away. She sighed as their fluttering feathers calmed her ears and she would stop relax and slump her back before finally stretching her arms and yawning simultaneously. As her arms came back down she snagged up her ruck sack almost as though from years of doing this very motion a habit now ingrained in her subconscious.

She would blink her pink eyes and peering through the branches noticed another Early Riser dashing head long across the field. She quirked a brow and squinted sure enough that was Hayden. ~OO HE HAS TOAST!!~ She squeed in her mind as her tail wrapped about her waist and tucked it’s tip invisible as an accessory once again. She sprang from the tree and landed in a low crouch before also taking a head long dash through the court yard around the columns and headed in the direction Hayden was charging.

She could smell rain on the air now and she lifted her nose to sniff before skidding to a stop beside Hayden and his yummy toast. She completely ignored Ozpin and the Goodwitch and was poking Hayden while standing just beside and before him “Hey … morning.. .Can I have some?” She asked with eyes the same as a Kittens.

Hayden felt pokes against his side and he looked down to see that it was Demi, smirking a bit to himself he removed the toast from his mouth and broke it in half passing it to her. "Well, I guess that means you are hungry then hm?" He laughed to himself, "Well it is bad if you are hungry so this makes sense." He reached out and put his hand on top of her head, his eyes closed and a feeling of nostalgia swept over him. Why did this feel familiar? A sound from the distance caught his attention and he removed his hand to look at the horizon. Sighing a bit he realized it was only a bird, he then took a bite of the piece of toast he held in his hand.

"So why is the Enforcer so special?" Goodwitch asked ozpin in a whisper, "You seem so much more talkative with him then the other students..."

"Well he is a son to an old friend of mine," He said back, "There is no need to whisper, there are only two here so far and they both can hear you quite well." She looked down at them kind of shocked.

"Well it's not that uncommon for a staff member and a student to know each other. I mean my big sister was a teacher at Signal..." He froze after that and his demeanor changed. Sensing that Ozpin mentioned that the Forest looked especially beautiful today, "Yeah I agree. I can't wait... Oh but we can't start early right?"

"How else would you form teams?" He asked looking back to them, "Well the others should be here any minute now."

The Faunus had dozed off at some point in the night. She had gathered about ninety minutes of sleep; the perfect amount for a refreshing nap, fulfilling the entirety of a complete R.E.M. sleep cycle without going over or under too much. Shadow sat up and began her usual morning stretch routine: rolling her shoulders, interlacing her fingers and stretching above her head, arching her back inward, lowering her arms again, and rolling her neck slowly to finish it off. Multiple joints and areas popped, including her lower back, shoulders, neck, and fingers.

Her ears twitched and flicked a bit under her hood, and, once remembering where she was, she flattened them against her head again. She slowly wagged her tail a bit to get it moving, then made sure it was concealed by the tail of her cloak. Pushing herself off the ground and quickly packing everything into one small area, she grabbed her weapons and other necessities and began following some of the people towards the cliff area where they would be trained.

The hybrid noticed that most were going to go get breakfast, but she passed. One: there would be far too many people for her liking, and she'd already spent enough time around a crowd while in the gym. Two: the wolf-human had had enough experience with not eating for days, so she could last for a while without eating before feeling drained on energy.

The anthropoid arrived at the cliff and silently and subtly took her position, looking out over the forest. It was an quite the sight, and looking out onto nature made her feel somewhat at home.
That was where she belonged; not training at some warrior's school. But this was her choice, so she'd have to deal with the consequences.

Scarlet woke up early, and prepared herself slowly, feeling that she didn't need to stress. However, it seemed like she overestimated herself, as she soon found herself behind her planning. Disstressed, she starts speeding, trying to get back into schedule. This turned out quickly to be a bad idea, as she put on her shirt inside out. This led her to stress even more, which meant speeding even more, which meant doing even more mistakes. Forgetting her locknumber, forget her weapon in the dining room, walking in the wrong hall at least three times and so on. The negative spiral only became worse and worse, until Scarlet finally stood on the cliff.

When Scarlet saw how early she actually was, she let out a sigh of relief. I'm so stupid, she thought to herself.

William dashed back to his room to retrieve his sword and then returned, once again, huffing and puffing to the cliff. He felt electric, he felt invincible, he was about to become a Hunter, and he wasn't going to let anything get in his way. He looked over at Shadow "You ready for this?" he asked "Ready to go out into the world and kick some arse?"

"It appears everyone is almost here. Take your positions on the platforms." He sipped his coffee, "You will be launched into the forest, i will leave your landing strategy up to you. When you are there, the first person you have eye contact with will be your partner for the next 4 years. There will be a shrine deep within the forest where you and your partner must obtain an artifact. However unlike the other times, I have made this particular test... harder. You will, after obtaining your artifacts, team up with people with similar matching artifacts and venture into the area that is listed. There you must defeat any Grimm you encounter. Any Questions?"

The hybrid flicked her gaze to the male who spoke to her but made no movement that said that she heard him. Or even acknowledged him. She wasn't here to socialize with the students; she was here to learn combat strategies and to hone her skills.

As Ozpin began relaying to the rules to the students, Shadow listened intently to each word and cringed at the thought of having a partner. For four years. Perhaps she could just stare at the ground the entire time to avoid eye contact. The wolf hybrid did
not want to deal with a partner; she was a lone wolf, and that was how she liked it.

"How many Grimm are in the forest?" William asked "Is the forest infested with them? Or is it sparesly populated?" he asked. He'd felt somewhat dejected from the one they called "Shadow". How rude was it not to make conversation? It grated against his middle class sense of nobility. When Ozpind declared those partnered with would be with them for the other for four years, his eyes shot to Demi. She seemed nice enough, other than that Hayden bloke who disappeared at the tip of a hat all of the time.

Demi’s eyes lit up like Christmas as Hayden offer her the toast. She took it and nibbled swiftly chomping down the last bits of the morsel as the others started to arrive. She was completely ignoring the Goodwitch and Ozpin but she would keep those reasons to herself. As the others appears she started to tighten the straps of her sack so it clung tightly over her back and just across the right handed sheath that was crossing her back already. The other sheath she strapped to her left waist and upper thigh. She glanced at those assembled as Ozpin explained their task for the day.

A change came about the petit girl. She had been bubbly lively spirits the moment before but as they were led to the launch pads she took her spot as William rambled off questions. She seemed completely on point now. She tail tightened only a little wiggle to tuck it more securely about her waist then her knees bent a little at the knee as she already checked her trajectory – path and was anticipating the movements she would take to secure a safe landing.

She was a bit confused about this who you met would be your partner but hell she supposed anyone who reached her first would have to do. She wouldn’t be lolly gagging around waiting for someone to find her. She’d already decided when she hit the ground it would be running and in the direction of these artifacts. Silly humans had to have placed them recently her nose would get her where she needed to go. She was ready!

"Good," Ozpin said completely ignoring any questions and without warning Hayden was launched first. He sailed into the sky his arms outward, a trail of electricity following him as he zipped through the sky. Drawing his fists together he briefly disappeared and reappeared on a tree limb. Running from branch to branch he would momentarily disappear and reappear as a blur of yellow. It wasn't until he was far away that he landed on the ground to brush off his clothing. "Well that was fairly easy in and of itself." (Demi and Hayden find each other, william and markus find each other. mari finds ash scarlet finds shadow. that way the team names make sense.) Hayden looked around and heard popping noises as each student was launched one after the other. "Now were is that shrine...?"

With all students gone Goodwitch asked Ozpin a question, "What are the relics this year? I know they were chess pieces last year so..."

"That is..." He laughed a bit to himself. "You will see." He sipped his coffee holding what appeared to be a monitor in his hand.

William wasn't quite ready for the full force of being flung into the air at high speed, "Fuuuuck!" was all he could get out as he raced across the sky, having no real plan on how to land properly. He took Silverstone Fury from his sheath and began bracing himself for landing, he could see a tree high enough for him and angled himself to hit it. He did so succesfully, well apart from crushing his testicles with the hilt of his sword once landing "Motherfu-!" he yelled.

The Faunus was launched into the air, and she ignored the acrophobia gnawing at her mind as she focused on the task at hand: landing without injuring herself. She soared through the air with some form of grace and after her launch reached its highest point, she began plummeting towards the forest below. Angling herself, she increased her speed towards the ground and, once she was close enough, she raised her hand in front of her and called upon the shadows. Her chest began burning as the shadows were pulled from their usual spots and created a ramp-like form exactly where she was going to land. She slid down the ramp with ease and let the shadows slow her. However, half-way down the ramp, the burning of the sigil on her chest was becoming too unbearable, so her concentration faltered.

The shadows began shimmering and then dissipating, letting Shadow fall to the ground. She rolled a bit to reduce the impact, but it still created an aching pain throughout her body. She cursed her past, wishing that there was some sort of counter-spell that could disperse this curse, but then pushed away all doubts and fears. She needed to find an artifact. Wasting no time, she began running through the forest, sniffing the air to hopefully find some trace of the artifact.

Scarlet stood on the platfor, listening carefully of what the teachers had to say. When they mentioned teams, Scarlet became a little worried, as there was no one she knew espceially well. She hoped that whoever her teammate was, it would be somebody nice, before being launched off the platform. She took forth her chainsaw, Heavenly Roar, and aimed it at best possible tree. The chainsaw burrowed a deep hole in the tree, and then Scarlet jumped down, taking the chainsaw with her.

Once on the ground, she started running, eager to find a partner and a relic as quickly as possible. She soon saw a blackhaired wolf faunus, and ran towards.

-Hello. I'm Scarlet Raleigh. It looks like we're going to be teammates, she said.

@Javax

She hadn't gone too far when she heard footsteps running towards her. Involuntarily, she looked to see who it was and locked eyes with another student. "Alōwya," Shadow cursed quietly, slipping into her native tongue.

As the other approached and introduced herself as "Scarlet", the Faunus observed her. Her appearance gave away her name. And she was rather attractive, if she were honest with herself. The hybrid wasn't too keen on teaming up, but she knew she had to. Sticking with one-word English answers to minimize the risk of messing up, she responded, "
Shadow."

Demi's ears gave slight twitches as one after the next were launched into the air, her body tensed for only a moment as the initial mechanism clicked her feet shifted a hair and suddenly she was launched upwards. Her eyes tightened to mere slits as she rose into the dim rainy sky. She adjusted her trajectory a bit while reaching the pinicale of her flight. Her body twisted mid air and angled her face directly towards the ground as she started to practically dive at the ground.

Reaching the first branches her right hand came up and yanked one of the Fox Fang's free of their sheath and sliced the first branches. Her left arm then projected forward and her aura manifested to a taloned monstorous and transluescent claw hand. This hand projected forward and latching onto the thickest branch bore treads in the wood as it grappled her descent pressed into a jarring swing she launched and released again from the branch to finally land on all fours on another branch. Both of her hands had projected her aura tp claw into the bar and halt her progression.

The moment she stopped her nose went up a bit and she found strange traces of Hayden already dashing through the forest before her, there were other familiar scents – students she'd already met. She could also smell the twang of unfamilars – grimm and hunters/tresses she'd imagined. With that she knew she wanted to move through the trees. Small and nimble of foot she took off barely a rustle in the canopy as she made her way along branches and sprang holding the twin blades aloft on either side to help balance and counter balance as she moved.

It wouldn't take long and Hayden would catch the flash of her white hair above him and perhaps catch the sound of her moving through the tree. She would drop down suddenly before him landing in a crouch with her back to him she stood swiftly and twirled around to face Hayden on a single toe she giggled not realizing her ears were fully up and were quite ridiculous in size. Her tail was also arched behind her swishing about frantically as she smiled at Hayden "Found You!" She giggled "You're not That Fast Mister Enforcer" She practically purred flashing a toothy grin at him.

Hayden gave a smile and reached over, petting her ears. "Perhaps, but I am glad you found me at least. You also didn't have to hide what you are." He stretched, "Shall we head forward?" He turned away and looked over his shoulder at her. "We have more then enough work to do." This was not the first time he had encountered a friend who pretended to be human and wouldn't be the last. To him though, he found her faunus form much better and much more cute then any old human form anyway. He drew his dagger as he heard what seemed to be trees rustling, "We have company." Sure enough a Ursa came lumbering through the woods, its massive body tower over the two students.

Markus opened his eyes to see everyone in the gym was gone. He looked at the clock on the wall, sure enough he was late. He jumped down from the rafters and straight booked it to where the test started. Everyone was gone except for Ozpin and Goodwitch. There was one pad that hadn't launched yet. Markus had jumped on the pad, which then launched him into the air. "FFFFFUUUUUCCCCCC~~~~~~~" He yelled as he got out of earshot from everyone.

As he flew through the air he heard fighting, and saw some people scrapping with ursa's and such. All that was the second question he had, but his first question was how was he going to stop. He pulled his weapon. It was a beautiful piece, it was a halberd combined with a .50 caliber machine gun. He flicked one of the switches and both of the blades moved to where the whole weapon looked like a "T". He leaned down which lead him to descend from his current course. He stuck the blades into a tree trunk which slowed him down to an almost stop.

After taking a couple seconds to get his bearing he looked around. He listened to see if he could hear anyone, but he didn't. He smelled the air to see if he could smell a familiar scent. There was one, it wasn't Demi or Hayden. Markus made his way to the source of the scent. It was William. Markus didn't really talk to him that much but he did know of him. "Hello." He said as he collapsed the staff on the halberd.

Demi's bright eyes would blink as he reached over and so casually petted her ears. They twitched from his hands not in fear but due to seneitivity. She glanced down and away from him as he spoke. “I wasn't hiding myself...” She mumbled rather grumpy that this was twice she'd been called out on such an idea. “I'm just keeping the extra challenge of making friends unobvious until I know who I can trust. Besides. My ears are sensitive it helps to keep them tucked away most times” She said definitely towards the end. Then he asked if they would move forward she nodded take a gentle sniff and froze suddenly as he was suddenly realizing the same thing she had. Company!

“STUPID STUPID!” She yelped and suddenly lept forward and did a small tuck roll past Hyden. Her hands swifted the two ends of her fox fangs and swirling their handle – grips to redirect the blades towards her forward she turned about to face her foe. Twin blades looked deadly sharp, something she took well enough and good care of was her weapon and it's pieces. She'd tucked back a bit as the Ursa lumbered forward. She would have to get in close and tight she decided while bounding to and fro on limber knees while she lined up her aim.

Suddenly bolting forward she steered clear of Hayden to avoid slicing him up. Crouching low as she moved she made her way directly at the Ursa a suicidal run if any weren't the wise to her next plan. The moment she reached striking distance for the both of them she darted and twirled the right bringing her blades back along her arms as she did so she became a twister of sharpness as she moved in a faint towards the right of the Ursa, her right foot landed and instantly pushed her into another lung her right arm coming along to follow through with the force of her jumping strike as she dove past it and towards the back landing in a crouch before once again jumping away. She may be tiny but speed and maneuveres like this were her pride!

The Ursa took the assault and stumbled a bit and instead of aiming for its attacker it went after Hayden who smirked to himself. "Whether it's your unlucky day or not, you chose the wrong opponent." He stated, his dagger sparking into life.

As one of its claws came down to hit him he raised his blade up catching it with ease. It paused there for a moment and the Ursa loomed its maw close to his face and a sneer appeared on Haydens face. With a sudden explosion of electricity the claw and the Ursa was thrown off balance and with that chance available he rushed forward jumping up into the air a bit. flipping the dagger to a backward stance he swung three time in rapid succession against the beasts hide. Then ending in a crouch he did a rising upward swing which he followed up with a kick off of its body to propel himself into the air. Noticing it regaining his footing he fell toward it, a trail of yellow following after him but with the way he was falling the Ursa would not doubt get him. With a laugh he arced his body backwards avoiding what appeared to be a bite attack and backflipped out of the way. Sliding away he was met by the beasts fangs again. Raising his dagger he blocked and parried the jaws and had little time to dodge a swing from its claws. Rolling out of the way he stood up next to Demi, his dagger changing into a pistol. "What do you say we finish this bloke off? I think he wore out his welcome." He winked at her, his eyes narrowing a bit as he took aim. He wasn't exactly serious yet, but if more of these things showed up he would have to go all out. The last thing he wanted to do was waste unneeded energy.

William was slumped on the ground when Markus found him, in a frenzied act of trying to get off the tree, he had stupidly cut the branch that he was sitting on off of the tree, ergo rendering him now possibly infertile, and with some rather nasty bruises. He slowly stood up "Oh, its you." he said, whimpering slightly "I was hoping for someone slightly hotter, female, and who didn't wear a cowboy hat." he then paused and looked over Markus "But, I suppose I at least sort of know you." he said, "Lets move out."

-Shadow? Is that your name or...? Scarlet wasn't sure what her partner meant meant. Shadow could be her name, as it would be logical to introduce yourself with your name, but it could also be some kind of code for Grimm. This made sense too, since Grimm were shadowy. She turned her chainsaw into a rifle, ready to shoot and checked the surroundings. Although she didn't see any Griim, she remained cautious.

-We should get going, she said and looked up in the sky to navigate herself. It was morning and the sun was at her left. This meant that she should continue to run forward, as the temple was up north. She sttated running, wanting to finish the test quickly.

@Javax

Markus just looked at him. "This Israel life you know that shot only happens in cheesie generic anime, right?" He said offering him a hand up.

With his partner up, Markus looked around. He heard a rustling in the bushes. "Do we have a friend?" He said as a stray dog walked by. "Guess not." He took a sniff and smelt Demi and Hayden.

William sighed a little and followed his new partner "Since you're a faunas right? You can lead us to them with your, your wolf nose and stuff?" he asked "Is there anyway to pick up the pace, I don't realistically feel safe out here."

"Name," she responded after the other had her small episode of cautiousness. Perhaps the Faunus should've elaborated and greeted Scarlet with a complete sentence, but English wasn't her first language. It wasn't even her second. The language most of these students spoke was one she didn't know all too well, so she tried to minimize that fact as much as possible.

Shadow agreed with her partner's next statement, and she watched as she began running through the forest. It didn't take much to catch up to her, despite Scarlet having a head start. The hybrid's wolf blood came in handy most of the time. She made sure to sniff the air silently every now and then and to keep her ears slightly up, keeping her senses alert. Students were traveling all around and fighting off beasts. There were Grimm all around, but none close enough to be a threat. Yet.
