RWBY: The Years Before: Shadow of Grim

Joy Citron

The dance floor was bangin'. Just by looking at the movin' n' groovin' crowd, it was easy to see everyone was totally digging the music. It was loud, and filled you up, the heavy bass making your bones rumble with in your skins. Joy wouldnt have it any other way. She moved about, swinging her bare hips, poking above her low hemmed shorts, and a slim waist swiveling just under her cropped short. As she moved, the goggles on her head kept slipping, being fed up with them, she dropped them down to her neck and let them hang from there.

Joy made her way from guy to guy, mingling, making flirtatious remarks, or even just glancing at them a vixen-like, seductive tease of a bit lip and devious eyes. Chasing was the fun part, it was once she had them that got her bored. She was a beast that hunted soley for sport. She made her way around, going from partner to partner, till she noticed an especially young looking, little lad in the middle of the floor, waving a cane about, and working a top hat that he hadnt grown into quite yet. A cheery smile brightened her face,'Isnt that just the cutest,' she giggled. Shoving between bodies she approached him and flicked the brim of his hat to get a better look at the little guy's innocent face,"Hey, isnt that hat a little too big for ya kid?" she smiled, bending over with her hands on her knees. In other words, she was implying that the young boy mightve been too young to be in this club, but it was still no less adorable.

(SHES NOT A PEDOPHILE SHES NOT GONNA HIT ON HIM talking to you @Alstromeria . She'll probably just smother him with a chesty hug xD )

Roman

Roman was having a good old time, being a little bit more of a kid than he usually was, was just strolling about the dance floor, waving his cane like a glowstick. Shimmy to the left, shimmy to the right. He rolled his shoulders a little bit and spun his bowler hat around his head, which he could because it was a couple sizes too big. He was humming and singing along to the music, sometimes singing some completely different part than what was playing. He spun his hat again, and as its brim revolved around his field of vision, someone tried to grab his attention. "Isn't that hat a little too big for ya kid?" The girl asked.

Roman, who was only 13, but male nonetheless, well, you can almost immediately assume where his eyes went when the girl bent over. Roman raised an eyebrow, winking with the eye that his orange hair didn't cover, taking some time to bat his lashes. This kid was young, but hey, you could tell by the mafia style way he dressed, his taste in clothes, his tie, his bowler hat, hell, maybe even his cane, this kid would grow up to be a lady killer. And he had the nerve to be more than that as well. "My hat isn't the only thing that's abnormally large on me at this age." Roman purred, placing both hands on the top of his cane and tilting his head back for a better view of the cleava- *cough* ahhh, person *cough* that had decided to talk to him.

With Sonora on the dance floor, she was having a grand old time. With her tipsiness still holding strong, she had not a single care about what was happening, all that matter was her having some fun. It was minutes later that she saw Joy talking with Roman. She had heard, "Isn't that hat a little too big for ya kid?" And she knew she had could have some more fun with them. She she walked over, slightly stumbling, and leaned on joy. "You know, Maybe we all should dance together. Dance the whole night away until we die of Exhaustion!" She said with a giggle as she hiccuped. @HoneyBear\-Kat

"My hat isn't the only thing that's abnormally large on me at this age." The boy replied. Quite cocky (ha the puns) for his age. Joy couldnt help but stifle a giggle or two,"Oh really?" she went along with his claim, why bust his confidence? "Well keep in your pants kiddo," she extended a hand to pull his top hat over his eyes,"You've got a smart mouth on you," she raised an eyebrow in interest,"I like you kid," she grinned. Coming up behind her, Sonora was stumbling about and suddenly leaned on Joy. The drunken weight pushed on her a little bit, sending Joy staggering forward before she caught herself to stand with her hands on her hips,"Sonora...are you...are you drunk?" a smile spread, and she chuckled in a mix of amazement and disbelief all at once. She never wouldve expected this from Sonora, of all people.

Joy walked away from her partner, letting her stand on her own two feet. She went to the little lad and walked around him, throwing her arms around his neck and pulling him into her from behind and grinning, flashing her snake-like fangs,"Sonora, look, I made a new friend!" She leaned into him slightly to look over his shoulder and at his face,"What did you say your name was, cutie?" Her voice was light and had a chime to it. She always thought children were adorable, but his feisty attitude just made him all the more likeable. For a kid he was pretty mature, if Joy never caught on to what he was implying, she wouldve guessed his ego was the next thing to big for him. "And since Im already asking questions, whats a little guy like you doing in here," she tightened her grip a little, restaining herself from snuggling the confidence out of him.

ROMAN

Roman took a hand off the top of his cane and stroked Joy's face with the back of his gloved hand. "The name's Roman, toothy, but you can call me anything you like." he said, stepping back a bit, walking to stand over the drunken Sonora. "She's had a bit too much to drink, hasn't she? I should tell junior to cut her off." Spinning his cane and holding it over one of his shoulders, Roman tisked. "Mmm, but that's the problem with older kids. No reguard for their own safety, no self control." A glint appeared in romans eye, as wel as a thought. But that thought was interrupted by the girl's other question.

Roman threw his head back a bit to laugh.
"Hah! Why is anyone anywhere? But I do suppose I should answer your question. Nobody likes having unanswered questions." Strutting about, in a slightly more adorable and faster way than Curve stumped around when he was tired, Roman held his arms out, rotating slowly in a circle. "I work here!" Roman exclaimed, completing his circle, "And lemmie tell ya, It's the best job I've ever had!"

"And being a musician ish the besht job I ever had!" Sonora said in reply to Roman, but she did not think that he heard her. "I am having so much fun! I might be a little tipshy.... Bu... But I can tell you tha... That I am completely fine." She said as people started giggling at her, since she is a drunken faunus, and being a wolf faunus, she cannot handle alcohol after 2 drinks. @HoneyBear-Kat @Alstromeria

KURO MAYONAKA

While Carter wasn't paying attention, Kuro had used his Semblance to make himself look like a shadow, which made him practically invisible in the club setting. That bouncer guy that almost stopped him on the way in was his target, but not in the "make him disappear" kind of target. The guy didn't seem to have any entertainment or refreshments, so the younger Huntsman-in-training swiped a drink off the counter on his way over. Once he neared the guy, Kuro took up a casual lean against the wall next to him, leaning on his left elbow and holding the drink in his right hand. A few more drinks might've been able to numb the pain he was about to feel when he dropped his ability, but he preferred to keep motor control and not wake up with a splitting headache. He knew far too well what hangovers were like when his parents would come home from parties with friends a bit tipsy. He dropped the Semblance and shook as he felt pain all over his body. He visibly winced as well.

"So.......ungh......want a drink...? You look.....bored," Kuro asked with a very forced smirk through a wincing face, offering the drink with a shaky hand.

FUDGE

Fudge took a look at the guy who'd just appeared in front of him and then at the drink. This was one of the hunters Curve had brought with him. Damn, that semblance shit was scary. He could've just snuck past him to get into the club if Curve hadn't told him to stand down, but shit, Fudge was glad he was friendly. He was even more glad the boy had brought him a drink.

"Heh. Tanks." Fudge said with his strange accent, taking the drink. He threw it back into his mouth with little more than a second thought, setting the glass on the table next to him. "Tha boss dunnint usually like it when we drink on tha job. But 'e understands. As long as I ain't drunk it's all fine." Fudge wiped his mouth with the back of his sleeve. He leaned back against the table, his amber eyes darting around, taking everyone in all at once. That's what he did. Hey, it was his job. "Ey. What's ya name kid?" Fudge asked Kuro.

Zaffre & Viole

The two boys stood straight as Curve began to explain himself and apologize, both things they hadn't heard him do or even try to for a long time. As he continued the boys were attentive but a few sly glances at each other confirmed what both were feeling. By the end of Curve's explanation they were grinning, clearly amused by something. "You know the whole crime syndicate thing doesn't bother us. we realized what you were trying to do a long time ago so it doesn't bother us." "What did bug us was that you didn't bring us along, or even bother to ask how we felt about it." "We just wanted to be with you, that's all had we wanted to stop your group we would have demolished every base in Vacuo. He came looking for you because we wanted to be together, and help." "We're tired of you taking everything on your shoulders, we're here and capable so we want to help period. That said, now that we're all here how can we help? if you need to see what we can do we can definitely show you." Viole got a wicked grin on his face the purple in his eyes lighting up as something on his back whirred to life, Even Zaffre's body gave off a blue glow as his pupil's gained their cross shape his twin gunblades appearing in their sheathes behind him he caught the belt and fastened it around him in a single deft movement. "I figure a demonstration can wait...I just hate not have my gear on me. your man made me put them away before we entered, it was bothersome."

CURVE

Curve let out a long, low breath, and his tattoos glowed along with his brothers. Thank god. They were back. They were still a family. And they couldn't have come any sooner. "Actually. There's something I could use you for tomorrow." Curve said, standing up and adjusting the sleeves of his suitjacket around his wrists, "I just arrived here in Vale a week ago. A good thing too. Crime is at an all time high, Jackal says there's a total of seven different gangs fighting over territory alone." Seeing the blank look on his brothers faces, Curve waved his hand dismisively. "Jackal. You probably haven't seen him yet. He's my right hand man I brought here, Wolf's taking care of things in Vacuo. Fudge is the guy in red, you've met him. Anyways." Curve continued, "I'll be taking a 'sick day' off from school tomorrow. My education at beacon is my cover for now. I'm not as infamous here as I am in Vacuo." Curve begun pacing again, circling his brothers. He eyed up their equiptment, noting that Viole didn't seem to have anything aside his armor. Viole always was too flashy. And Zaffre was always too loud. Good to see that they had embraced their strengths.

"So in total, I only have four men, not including you two. So the primary concern here is to increace my orginizations numbers. A strategy I tend to use to kill two birds with one stone is to recruit from the streets; easy, cheap, disposable people who don't like the other gangs anyways. This is how I built up my prescence in Vacuo." Stopping pacing, Curve stopped in front of his brothers. "So. Jackal has located one such gang, who seems to be prone to faunice violence. There will be a meeting arranged with them first, they will become my people, then a meeting will be arranged with the pacifist group, the white fang. Once they make good with eachother, we can proceed from there. Good for publicity and image, it will also give us a foothold in any profitable criminal activity that happens. All good? All good." Curve didn't wait for an answer from his brothers, he just flipped the light back off and patted them both on the shoulders. "You can stay upstairs with the rest of the guys. There's room for my whole orginization up there. Stay safe." Curve walked out of the room, and back into the place behind Juniors bar.

"Junior. I'd like a word." Curve said, placing a hand on the bartenders shoulder. Curve had come out of the door that opened behind the bar. Junior wasn't suprised, he'd heard it open. "Sure boss, what you need?" Junior said, jerking his head at Curve as he cleaned his glass. "Those two boys I just talked to. Do you have any idea who they are?" Junior shook his head. "Naww, sorry. I'll tell you one thing, they hold their liquor almost as well as you. I hope they become regulars, it'll be good for busi-" "They are not regulars," Curve interjected, "They are us. They would like to join our group. They have joined our group." Juniors eyes widened, but he nodded nonetheless, still working as they talked. "Make sure the others know treat them like family. Oh, and the other one, she will be staying with me. Her name is Ivory." Curve pointed to where he left Ivory at the bar. Junior nodded again, smiling. "Sure thing boss," he said. Curve held up a finger. "One more thing, Junior." Curve added, "Keep a close watch on the two new ones." Curve made no illusion that the two new recruits were his brothers. Nobody here knew, and he intended for it to stay that way. Curve walked to the far end of the bar and unlatched the little swinging door. He made his way back to where Ivory was.

"Sorry about that. That was some more business I had to attend to. No rest for the wicked right?" Curve said, sitting back down next to Ivory.

KURO MAYONAKA and OLIVER SAGE

Having recovered from the pain he felt from using his Semblance, Kuro shifted himself so he was leaning with his back on the wall more comfortably with his arms crossed, the smirk on his face now less of a grimmace. He was feeling curious as to the identity of this boss this guy worked for. He figured Curve must've known the boss, or was part of his family, because he remembered Curve helped him get in. Even if this guy didn't, he could've just used his Semblance to sneak in. He'd be practically invisible at this time of night.

"The name's Kuro. No drinks on the job? Your boss sounds like a jerk. Speaking of which, who's this boss guy anyways? Does Curve know him? I remember him getting us in, but that's about it. Now that I'm on the subject, what's this boss guy the boss of? Like, the manager of the club?" Kuro inquisitively asked the bouncer. Now that his mind was on the subject, it did seem pretty strange that Curve could just speak to this guy to get the Beacon crew in with their weapons. His thoughts were interrupted by a scream, followed by yelling accusing someone of stealing, and then two sets of feet scuffling on the pavement followed by the sound of running.

Kuro walked towards the edge of the doorway and removed one of his weapons, holding a hand up that signaled the bouncer to sit still. Two thugs wearing masks came around the far right street corner at a sprint, and Kuro saw one of them carrying a handbag. The scream must've came from its owner. He turned the corner with his weapon raised, but two sets of green arrows shot out of nowhere, each pair connected by a wire. The arrows wrapped around the feet of the two and tripped both of them up. The handbag flew out of the lead thief's hand and landed in front of a young man dressed in a dark green hooded outfit with a bow in one hand, and two arrows nocked and drawn back with the tips aimed at the two thugs on the ground.

Kuro stood confused by this, as he hadn't heard anything about the hooded vigilante that patrolled the bad neighborhoods of Vale at night. He initially thought it was Oliver, given the green outfit, but his was a lighter shade of green and didn't have sleeves. Come to think of it, he hadn't seen Oliver's weapon either, though. The figure in the hood took one look over at Kuro, then switched his attention back to the two figures tied up on the ground. He shot the two arrows before the team leader could object, but one planted in the ground on one side of thhe grounded thugs and, with a wire connecting both, the other arrow implanted itself on the other side. The hooded figure clicked something inside his hood, picked up the handbag, and then spoke in a deeper voice with a slight electronic undertone.

"I'll take this back to its owner. Make sure the cops deal with those two," the figure said. Before Kuro could even react, the figure show a grappling arrow with a rope attached onto a nearby roof and zipped up. Kuro just holstered his weapon, awestruck.

"Woah. That.....was so cool," he remarked.

Oliver was surprised to see his team leader out in this part of town, at this particulad club especially. That device he slipped on him let the hooded vigilante track him here. Now he started to develop a suspicion of his team leader, but he was sure that there wasn't anything about him. He seemed to have no hint of any activities that would suggest activities like getting involved with whatever was actually going on at the club. He'd been there a few times after his initial visit, and deduced that the whole 'nightclub' aspect of it was a front for something after using his Semblance to eavesdrop. There was definitely something up, but he couldn't worry about it now. He left the handbag with its owner and was offered a small reward, but he turned it down. He made his way back to his motorcycle, hidden in an alleyway, and drove off back towards an airship to Beacon.

Sward / Sylvia

Everything was a blur. You know Sward never realized he was dancing with Sylvia. He didn't no what he was doing until he saw that he was the only person on the dance floor standing doing nothing. in a panic he started to copy Sylvia's movements and those of the others around them matching timing and beat almost perfectly. Sylvia was impressed. She never met a guy with moves like those. She ... Actually had fun with him. The two danced for a good long while before Sasha was waving her over. Plus she was a bit tired and the guys messing with her were no longer around. "Good riddance" she said under her breath. She then faced Sward and lifted his helm and kissed him on the cheek and thanked him for the help and left to meet her friend leaving Sward again flustered and in a state of shock.

Sward felt strange. He couldn't tell what was happening. The room began to morph around and the music began to get slower. His head was hurting and the blood rushing everywhere didn't help neither. He needed to sit down. No. He better leave. Better at least tell Curve and try to sneak out. He didn't want to ruin the others night. As Sward was trying to find Curve he saw that the man was talking to Ivory. Sward knew better to interrupt conversations especially with Curve so he sat at the other end of the bar and handed Junior a note telling him he was going to go back to Beacon earlier than the others and telling Curve that he left. Sward didn't feel like speaking. Everything was giving him a headache. He then sneaked out and returned to Beacon. As he entered the room Oj and Locke were both fast asleep. Sward didn't want the chance to interrupt them so he just grabbed his most cherished belonging and went outside. He thought the chilling night air might cool him down. He climbed onto the nearest building and placed the object over his face and everything went black.

Azure Snow

The small faunus had tried everything Kuro had listed and to no avail, she still wasnt sure what to do with herself at this club. Curve had told her that anything she wanted at the bar was to be put on his tab, so far the only thing she had put on it was a small shot before backing out. She didnt want to return to Kuro and Carter, in fear of coming off as too clingy. She wanted them to have fun too, not having to baby sit her. So what to do....

Off in a dark, rather sketchy, corner of the club was a lone man. He wasnt really doing anything, and much like her, wasnt participating in any of the social things available on site. Maybe it was some mysterious gain of courage or the tiny bit of alcohol she ingested talking, but Azure suddenly had the desire to try the first thing on Kuro's list again: Talking. Taking a deep breath, her tail swishing slightly, her short legs moved into his direction,'Okay, plan ahead, what are you going to talk about?'

Azure was mentally preparing herself, thinking of ways to spark a conversation,'Remember, do not question anything too personal, it is strange and frowned upon, upon the first meeting' she reminded herself,'Ask a general question.' The small faunus approached the table, dragging her feet untik she stopped at the table's end. Azure cleared her throat a little, mustering the courage to speak up. Her two toned eyes looked up the...tall...quiet...intimidating man. "What--" she was cut off by a sudden hiccup, mustve been from the drink earlier. She tried again after brushing off her flustered embarrassment,"Wh-wh-wh-why are you here all by yourself?" she blurted after stuttering some. Azure's ears flattened when she had realized how her question couldve been taken out of context.

'Stupid. Stupid. Stupid. Stupid. Stupid. Stupid. Stupid...' she mentally kicked herself in the head over and over.

Her question was exactly what she was trying to avoid, a personal question, not only that, but the question couldve easily been mistaken as a pick up line. At least in her point of view anyway.... but it was the first thing that came to mind, an honest inquiry.

FUDGE

Fudge was about to answer the hunters question with a 'mind your own business, fuck you very much' when he heard the scream. His hands instantly went to the sides of his red vest, where his pistol and knife were hidden underneath, but stopped when he saw the two men and played the gesture off as a simple wardrobe adjustment. Then there was the man in green. With the fuckin' bow. Fudge almost let his instinct take over, but restrained himself from taking out his gun and shooting the man in the face. His amber eyes flashed as he sized up the man, and recognized him from the time he'd been in the bar. Or at least, recognized the outfit. He still had his hood up. And Fudge had learned to deal in faces and outfits instead of secrets and names.

After the man had gone, Fudge made sure he stayed that way. He shot a glance over at Kuro, and his eyes flashed again as he lit a cigarette and promptly stuck it in his mouth. "That... Was so cool," the lad exclaimed. "Yeh", Fudge grunted unenthusiastically, "Tell meh 'bout it." Fudge spun out his knife from under his vest and approached the two men, running a hand through his scarlet hair. He nudged one of them over with his loafer, rolling the cigarette between his teeth. "Bit 'a trouble uh?" Fudge observed, puffing smoke out the side of his mouth, giving him the appearance of a very lanky, very red dragon. "Well. Bettah not get yaself caught next time. 'Member, nuttin's illegal unless ya get caught." Fudge knelt down and began to saw through the bindings of one of the would-be purse snatchers.

JACKAL

Jackal raised his eyes from the mass of people he was focusing on that he assumed Roman was in. A small girl had just asked him what he was doing all by himself. The girl couldn't be taller than roman was, but she was one of the hunters Curve had described he was bringing. Jackal raised an eyebrow at first, but he prided himself in being a people person. That was his job, afterall. "Me? Well nothing much, actually, I'm glad that someone came to talk," Jackal said with a warm smile. "I've come along with ahhh, well, I guess you could call him my little brother. Friend of the family really, but practically the same thing." Jackal leaned back a bit in his chair, pointing out roman in his strange atire and oversized bowler hat, both of which looked hilarious on the 13 year old. "There he is. Lemmie tell ya, that kid's got more energy than a creeper stacked up on six different energy drinks." Jackal returned to his origional sitting position, focusing again on the fox faunice. "And ah, not to judge, but you're a bit on the small side too. You got someone here watching you?" Jackal did his best to be comforting when talking to people, and he did a good job of it. Even with his mid-length (for a guy) black hair and his shifty eyes, they turned bright and his face lit up when he talked, like he thoroughly enjoyed any conversation. His grin wasn't wolfish, like fudges, or sadisticly sarcastic, like romans. It was warm, with just a hint of smugness to the edges.

Carter

The boy shivered at the sight of the girls that were watching both him and Kuro, and turned around so his back was to them. He turned his head to the side to look at Kuro, who seemed to have taken notice of them. Carter scowled, course he would notice. However, Kuro wandered over back to the bouncer. Strange, Carter wouldve thought an interaction between the two wouldve been tense, since the bouncer pointed out Kuro's weapons before they walked in.

The boy shook his head, leaning onto the bar's counter. His dull, brown eyes loomed over the club with disinterest. 'All these people...' he thought, and audibly groaned. Crowds were never his things, especially in small spaces, thats when his anxiety usually kicked in. Carter turned around again, forgetting about the hopeless-romantic girls. He was minding his own business when he felt like he was being watched again. His eyes darted to the corner, the girls whispering to eachother while they sat in a booth, the way females do. The lad's eyebrow twitched some, a low growl rumbling in his throat. He pushed off the counter and walked to Kuro and the bouncer, his face annoyed. He only joined them to break the girls' line of sight.

When he approached the two males he noticed the unconscious bodies laying on the sidewalk infront of the club,"What happened," he asked with an eyebrow raised.

Sonora was not feeling all that well, since her 2 glasses of the strong wine had gripped her hard, and brought her from just tipsy, to fully hammered. She was dancing on the dance floor, until she collapsed onto the floor, and tried to get up. She struggled to even lift herself up, and failed as her face hit the ground. All she did was roll over, and she spoke. "My horn.... I need my horn..." She said before passing out from the intense level of drunk she was experiencing. During her little nap, she began to have a dream, where she came home drunk, and got looks of disappointment on her parents' faces. Her father began to yell obsenities while trying to hit her with his fist as her mother held him back. "Go to your room! I will try to dispel his fury." Her mother said as she struggled, but kept her father down as Sonora walked up to her room, tears running down her face as she immediately regrets the decision. "I'm sorry dad..... I'm sorry mom..... I'm sorry." She said in her dream, and in reality as she curled up into a ball, and tears ran out from her eyelids, and past her cheeks. She regrets the decision of drinking the wine, but she could not help but get caught up in the moment. People stared at the sleeping, drunk girl who was crying as she slept. She went from a good time, to a bad one really quick. @HoneyBear-Kat @Alstromeria @apoliseno @everyone else.

Joy Citron

Roman raised a hand, stroking Joy's face,"Roman~?" she cooed, her voice silky smooth, after he spilled his name. What a peculiar name, suppose it fits a peculiar boy. Her small smile widened to a grin, her hand snatched his at the wrist and she squeezed it tight, leaning into his ear,"Dont play with a fire you cant handle, kiddo," her usual, light and bubbly voice turned dark. Joy was big on 'you can look but you cant touch,' unless she allowed you to. Both Roman and Joy watched Sonora stumble about, earning a laugh in agreement when the orange-haired boy suggested cutting her off at the bar,"And to think, she only had two glasses," Joy giggled,"of wine!" Her giggle turned into a stifled chuckle.

Roman went back to her second question, "Hah!" He laughed, "Why is anyone anywhere? But I do suppose I should answer your question. Nobody likes having unanswered questions."

Joy gave him a nod, as the boy pulled away from her smothering embrace. He walked with confidence, resembling Curve in some way, his chest out, with a straight back, a presence that demanded attention. Joy was amused, and she revealed so when she tried to cover an adoring smile with a hand. Roman extended his arms out on either side of him, turning slowly in a circle to take in the atmosphere, "I work here!" Roman exclaimed, "And lemmie tell ya, It's the best job I've ever had!" Joy burted out in laughter,"Y-you," she pointed to him, talking between laughs,"You work here?" she cocked an eyebrow. Once again she bent down with her hands on her knees,"Best job? Have you ever had another job? And what exactly do you do here?" Her rose-red eyes observed him up and down, slitted, snake-lile pupils dialating at his image,"No offence little guy, but you dont have much experience of...well of anything," she shrugged, then proceeded to flash him a little smile to keep things light-hearted. She wasnt degrading him, at least that wasnt her intention, she was speaking honestly.

Suddenly the sound of an unconscious body hitting the floor, cause Joy to whip her head around at the source. It was Sonora, and she passed out. Joy drooped her head in defeat, she couldnt believe her partner was tipsy from two measely glasses.

She raised her head to give Roman a side-long look through the corner of her eye,"I should probably move her to a table and out of the way," she smiled. Joy straightened herself to a stand, stretching her neck and moving over to where Sonora lay. "Alrighty c'mon girly," Joy, with her superior strength, bent down to pick up the limp body, and threw her over her shoulder like a sack of potatoes. Before walking off the dance floor, she turned to Roman,"By the way, the name's Joy." She reached a hand out to pinch his cheek and boop his nose,"Oh and if you ever forget, just remember: You could always use a little more joy in your life. And if you wanna talk later, Ill be around here...somewhere." she grinned, snake fangs showing, and gave a cute little wink before sauntering off with Sonora over her shoulder, her hips swaying as always. When she turned away, she smiled with confidence,'I like the little guy.'

She carried her partner to an empty table and set her down on one of the chairs. "Sonoraaaaa~" Joy bent over, and inch away from her comrade's face,"Helloooo~?" She blinked then pouted,"Hmmm..."

Sonora gripped one of the chairs, and clenched her hands like a vice grip, leaving holes in the part that the back rests on, in which her claws punched through. She growled as tears ran down her face, and made whimpering sounds as she relived her Mother's death in a hospital, due to colon Cancer that could not be treated. As soon as the heartbeat monitor in her dream flatline, she woke up, and screamed as loud as she could, "MOTHER!!!!" she then silently sobs and sniffles as she covered her face with her hands, not noticing joy yet, who was standing next to her, watching her heaping mess of a partner have a meltdown.

Azure Snow

Azure was surprised the stranger responded, and in a friendly manner, no less. She expected a weird look, or the silent treatment, but he actually looked at her, and spoke to her with words. A sudden weight was lifted from her chest, the burden of being fearful toward people, didnt seem so bad now. Her ears perked up at his voice, and her eyes dazzled when he looked at her, excitement filling her to the brim. Her fox tail swished, further proving her excitement. This was the first time she approached someone on her own, and not the other way around. And the way her face lit up, just said so much.

Azure listened carefully, and when the stranger said he was thankful someone came to talk to him, she didnt feel like an annoyance. His warm smile was inviting, and she returned the gesture. Even his aura was calming, it didnt prickle her skin like most. It lapped gently the way a river quietly lapped at its bank. Feeling like silk ribbons instead of needles. She stood there, listening with intent,"I've come along with ahhh, well, I guess you could call him my little brother. Friend of the family really, but practically the same thing."

Azure still didnt quite understand some social terms and acceptances. For example, how could someone be like a brother...when theyre not? She tilted her head to the side a little, looking like a confused puppy, but she didnt interrupt him to ask. 'A family friend is a brother?' She stowed the question away for a later date.

The guy leaned back in his chair, his eyes obviously searching over the dancing crowd, that is until he pointed at the lad with bright orange hair poking out from beneath his bowler hat. The stranger continued, giving a brief description on the abundant amount of energy the young boy had. Her heterochromic eyes remained on the giddy boy for a moment longer, analyzing him, the way she usually does with unfamiliar people. The lad was definitely younger than her, and possibly even the same height...maybe taller, she couldnt tell from her distance.

And ah, not to judge, but you're a bit on the small side too. You got someone here watching you?" He pointed out. A fluffy, white ear turned to his voice before her head did. She blinked at him, with a blank, unemotional gaze while she tried to process what he meant, awkwardly silent moments passing....

'Watching me?' she thought. 'Perhaps he means like a guardian? Does he think I am a child?' Her face scrunched into a child-like scowl, then morphed into a pout, shaking her head at him. Finally she broke the silence, keeping herself from retreating back into being a mute,"I am old enough to be on my own," she said matter of factly. Azure always felt a little sore when she thought people were talking about her short stature. However, the longer she looked at him, the more she realized he wasnt picking on her, or making fun of her, he was genuinely asking. Azure softened back into the innocent face she always wears, her eyes looking up at him sheepishly, feeling a little sorry for quickly jumping the gun. "But..." she tried to cover herself up,"I-I accompanied some others...if that is what you mean..." she averted her gaze,"Some team mates, and other members of Beacon."

KURO MAYONAKA

Carter's arrival and subsequent question of the two thugs tied up immediately brought Kuro's attention back to them, but that's when he noticed the bouncer doing something to their ropes. Was he actually letting them get away? Kuro stepped over and grabbed his hand with a surprisingly firm grip, ceasing the action. He still had his other hand on the grip of his weapon.

"What are you doing? They got caught, they broke the law, they pay the price for what they did. Carter, call the cops over here. I'll watch these two. You can go back to standing against the wall and letting people in," Kuro said, finishing his statement with a raised eyebrow and a slight smirk.

FUDGE

Fudge shook off Kuro's hand. "Ey. Don't touch, ya fuck. Don't call tha fuzz, whoevers purse they took has it back, they don't care." Fudge contined sawing at one of the bonds, but then Kuro insulted his job. "You can go back to standing against the wall and letting people in."

Fudge's eyes flashed and he spat out his cigarette. He glared at Kuro with his piercing amber eyes, sizing up the hunter. He was a hunter. That he was. Fudge did NOT want to mess with a hunter. But Fudge also did not want to be insulted. Or questioned. And to be honest, Kuro was a good kid, but he did a bit too much good.

"Yo. Listen ta meh, kid." Fudge said, freeing the theif's hands with a swift jerk to the knife. A small yelp was heard and Fudge dragged him to his feet by the collar. He sent the man on his way with a swift shove, and the man took off running. "I can tell ya never dun any time. Well after ya get outta tha slammer, your life is ova. Ya can't get a job. Ya can't get a house. Ya can't get a rep, cuz ya already got one. Yeh a crimial. Yeh allways are, an' yeh allways will be. Fudge spun his knife in his hand, the light from the streetlams glinting off of it as he played with his dangerous toy. "Look. What ahm tryin' ta say, is that once yeh caught, ya can't go back. These men needed a secon' chance. I gave it ta them. Yeh lucky yeh never had ta need one. Now." Fudge bent down and began to work on the other one. "Is tha cold-hearted, lawful hunta' gonna stop meh, or is the person who knows bettah gonna let me do what's needed?"

JACKAL

Jackal nodded. "Sorry, didn't mean to offend. Just that this isn't the best neiborhood. I try to keep Romie safe, and I mean, there's some nutsy people out there." Jackal took a drink from his glass of water on the table, something he tried to keep with him at all times so he didn't trip over his tounge when he talked. "Even if you are a hunter, you need someone with you, especially if you're young, or carry a lot of cash, or a girl. Know what I mean?" He leaned back in his chair again, raising his hands in a half-apologetic-half-i-dunno gesture. "I guess it's none of my business, I just worry too much about other people I shouldn't. My bad." Jackal noticed that two of the huntresses buddies had left out the front, three now. He jerked his head twords the door. "Looks like your friends are all clearing out. I'd leave too." Jackal stood up, then turned back, grasping her hand. "You need any help, my name's Jackal. I usually hang around here alot with Romie. Stay safe allright? Miss..." Jackal searched his mind, but regrettably, he couldn't find a name. "I... I don't think you told me your name," Jackal stated matter of factly, "I hope we see eachother again, though."

KURO MAYONAKA

Kuro lowered his eyes to the severed ropes that remained from where the pair of thugs were before they were released. He had let them get away while the bouncer cut them loose preaching about "second chances" and how hard life was for people who had been through prison. While not entirely unsympathetic to the challenges people with a record had, he still wouldn't let crime get away without punishment. He holstered his weapon and met the bouncer's glare with his own, though rarely-used, icey glare. Kuro trusted this guy about as much as he did a King Taijitsu wearing a "pet me" sign around its neck.

"Well, then they should knew the consequences for their actions, and they won't learn unless they don't go through them. If they turn to illegal activities in the first place, then they know they can accept any punishment at any time for what they do and what they've done. They should only get a second chance when they've learned what they do is wrong," Kuro argued, growing frustrated. He had lost sight of the two thugs, and felt extremely agitated to the point where he wanted to punch this guy in the stomach, but refrained from doing so while Carter was present. "Let's go grab Azure, Carter. We should start heading back, and I want to let off some steam in the rec room." With that Kuro walked back inside, leaving the bouncer outside to do whatever it was he did besides standing against a wall.

Azure Snow

Jackal continued on, explaining how he was just concerned for her since they were in a sketchy neighborhood and all. And further explained thats why he watches the small boy on the dance floor. The (now) acquaintance took a sip of water. Azure's eyes followed the clear glass, watching the liquid diminish. For a brief second she remembered that the drink she had was just as clear as water, she shivered. 'Maybe that is The Water of the Gods, too?' she thought.

"Even if you are a hunter, you need someone with you, especially if you're young, or carry a lot of cash, or a girl. Know what I mean?" Jackal further informed. Azure gave a nod, now she could see why he would ask if someone was there with her. Azure looked down at herself, she was small, young and female. She took his examples literally. The faunus looked back up at him, her eyebrows pinched together, with a slight look of determination. She opened her mouth to ask what she can do about it, but Jackal spoke first. He said something about worrying about people too much, and apologized for it. The fox's face grew soft again.

"You should never apologize for caring too much." Her gaze drifted to Jackal's companion, dancing on the floor carelessly,"This world needs more people like that," her voice a little somber,"And some people need more care than others," she looked back at Jackal, giving a small, shy, bashful smile,"like your friend over there."

Jackal jerked his chin toward the door, and made her aware that Kuro and Carter had started to leave. Her ears shot straight up and she gasped," Oh no!" Azure hopped off her seat, ready to run to her team mates, but a hand stopped her when it grasped her own. She froze, turning her head to see Jackal there, "You need any help, my name's Jackal. I usually hang around here alot with Romie. Stay safe allright? Miss..." he thought for a moment, "I... I don't think you told me your name," The girl blinked at him a few times, not used to physical touch. Butterflies whipping up a hurricane in her tummy, blood rushing the her face, feeling hot and flustered, has Azure developed an insignificant school-girl crush? "Azure," she smiled warmly,"Like the color," her soft voice explained. "I...I hope we see eachother too..." her voice trailed off, growing shy and embarrassed. She knew they most likely wouldnt, but wish-ful thinking wasnt a crime, right? In any case, Azure gave one last nod, and waved good-bye with her other hand before pulling away to catch up with Kuro and Carter at the door.

When she approached them, her face was still flushed, she was quiet, in a sense that was weird even for a silent girl like her. She stared off into nothingness, and just stood there beside the two boys....
