RWBY: The Years Before: Shadow of Grim

Six years before teams like RWBY, JNPR, SSSN, and CFVY, the world of Remnant was relatively at peace. Hunters and huntresses had some down time, and the kingdoms only problems involving the grim were few and far between. But something had happened recently that concerned the leaders of all the nations: a hunter had gone missing. Sure, this had happened before, but this particular hunter had a deep connection with animals. He was going a bit crazy when he was last seen, his cloak about him, whispering to the shadows. But anyways, that was all at Haven Academy. Both Beacon and the residents of Vale have been told to watch for him, but no sign nor sight has been of the man anywhere. The leaders of beacon academy have taken this into deep thought however, but they continue to train their students in a normal fashion. Half of the year has allready passed, and the second semester has just begun.

Curve stood with his hands behind his back, like he usually stood. The marks on the side of his face glowed softly. He and Sward were in a small ship that had just landed at the entrance to beacon. "Well. Here we are." Curve said, running a hand through his hair and glancing at his friend. The two were like brothers, and this new school, this new place... Curve missed the streets. He missed his turf. He thought further combat education (he doubted he needed it) would gain his gang some recognition, some notoriety, but he wouldn't be seeing results. He dropped his hands to his sides as the door opened, clenching his fists. He shot a glance at his masked friend and jerked his head, signaling them to go.

*CluBMp, CluBMp, CluBMp* Curves slick black boots went on the walkway. A sound that instilled fear back home. A sound that was very audible indeed. Not a stomp, not angry, just a passive agressive clump that let others know Curve was there. Curve was the man that when his footsteps were heard, the devil himself said "Oh shit, he's up!" Curves eyes scanned the space in front of him in a bestial fashion. They settled on two people who stood in front of the ship, one dressed in orange, the other with an annoying smile on his face. Curve stopped in front of them, making sure Sward was behind him. "You two must be Locke and Oronco." Curve said bluntly, "I am Curve. This is Sward." Curve didn't expect Sward to say anything. Right around now he would probably be pulling out a juice box. Curve didn't say anything else. He was still judging how to take the duo. If he'd learned anything from his time on the streets, it was that you learned more with your mouth shut and your ears open.

Sward was closely watching and observing every single movement the duo made. He looked at Oronco and at Locke. Sward than concluded that Oronco was a strong and very responsible person who seems to be not much of a talker, but Sward did't care much for talking. He can tell he was going to like Oronco. As for the other one he couldn't deduce Locke. He seem rather kind... Maybe a bit too kind, but he seems pretty well shaped all around. There was just one last thing before Sward acknowledged his new team. He looked towards.Curve " We should practice a little after our flight." Looks to Locke and Orocno. "Can you please show us the way."

Locke looked at the two new arrivals. Rather menacing looking Locke thought to himself but strangers are just friends you haven't met. Besides he couldn't allow to have the team split a second time so he had to get along with them no matter what and keep them together. He made a nice smile and stood next to OJ. After hearing Swards request h began to run ahead yelling "This way! Come On!" As he ran ahead Locke saw his fellow comrades in their teams. He just gave a smile and waved and ran aged to the arena. He seemed to excited to see Curve's and Sward's weapons and abilities that he completely forget that they were way behind.

OJ rolled his eyes with a smile. "Don't mind Locke," he said to the two, "He gets excited. Bit too much. I'm OJ." A playful punch on Curves shoulder ended his greeting. He began following Locke, but at a much more leisurely place. Curve narrowed his eyes a bit at the punch he recieved, but decided that OJ was allright enough. If he was to have anyone aside from sward in his team, they'd better have balls. And to be honest, anyone who made physical contact with Curve and lived to tell about it gained his respect.

They arrived at the training area, where a few students were drilling with a robot. One was fighting with a halberd axe, he seemed to have no broblem fending off attacks. "That droid's a gift from Atlas. Ozpin called in a favor." Curve glanced sideways at sward, then jerked his chin towards those fighting. Sward would know what he meant. "Who's thems?" He asked OJ, quite informally, referring to the group of four drilling. "The one doing the fighting's Loki. He's pretty good, it's like it's what he was made for." Oj replied, The ones watching are part of his team. KCLB, they're one of the other teams in our year."

Curve nodded. He would like to train a bit, but he was content to wait his turn. And it wouldn't hurt to watch his classmates to learn more about him. He raised his eyebrows at Sward looking for input if there was any.

Kuro Mayonaka was having a really annoying day. First off, sleep had avoided him all night until midnight, so he woke up a bit tired. Then he found out his team had been thrown against some bot from Atlas in a training excercise. After that, said robot punched him in the gut across the room. It hurt quite a bit. He leapt off of the ground and onto his feet, retrieving his twin shotguns as he did.

"This day seriously cannot get any worse," he said to himself as he charged the bot one more time. He ducked under a swing and unloaded two blasts from each gun into its midsection, then flipped back to avoid another sweep from its arm. He raised both arms and unloaded on the thing from a distance.

"Anyone else, feel free to help me," he shouted to the rest of his team.

Azure Snow

The especially tiny faunus stood some feet away from the rest of her training team. She inspected her weapons, tiny hands taking it apart and working to put it back together. Her fluffy tail swished as she did so. Heterochromic eyes fixed on the guns, and every now and them her long lashes would blink to keep her eyes from going dry. Her tail seemed to have a mind of its own, swishing and wagging while the rest of her body remained in place. Kuro was sparring with the bot behind her, and when ever he would make contact with it, the sound made her white ears swivel backwards. However, she picked up other sounds besides her partner. Voices. New voices, specifically. Azure wasnt a fan of people she didnt know, they were scary. She still wasnt quite comfortablr even around her own team, but atleast she knew them more than the newcomers. One ear remained turned toward the voices, twitching when a new voice spoke.

She finished her inspection and turned around, seeing the other team for the first time. She took a sharp gasp and quickly shut her mouth. Her eyes darted to Kuro then back to the mystery team. Immediately, her tail drooped and her ears flattened slightly. She turned away and moved so that she would be behind the robot and her team mate, in attempt to hide from the other group's line of sight. Her pistols were put back into their appropriate holsters on either side of her hips and Azure quietly watched Kuro unforgivingly release steam on the poor bot. She avoided any eye contact with the other team and even her own team member. She was a fox faunus, and like a fox, she was quiet and shy, shed rather stay hidden and observe than take part in normal social affairs.

Kuro invited the rest of the team to take part in the combat-practice run, to which Azure silently declined, and minded her own business. When it comes to close-quarters, she was pretty confident, infact shed much rather prefer fighting with her bare hands than a weapon, but knew in some cases a distanced attack was needed, and could save her own life. She wasnt a pro marksmen, but she could shoot a target. Maybe not between the eyes like other skilled shooters, but she can definitely do some damage, especially to the grimm. Other humans were difficult. She had never fought against another human or faunus other than practice and sparring, and she hopes she never will. But if she ever had to, her semblance would help with keeping up with them. She was already pretty quick, small and agile, but her semblance allowed her to be half a step ahead of her opponent.

Along with her acute faunus senses, the vixen's semblance helped to alert her of the new comers. As soon as they neared her team she could feel the precense of their aura seeping into their boundries, even if they werent activated. Each and everyone of them. Azure often identified people by their aura than anything else, it was a strong sense she had and she was greatful for it, making it near impossible to sneak up on her, except for the occassional person who can supress their aura, or havent yet tapped into theirs.

Her mind wandered, like usual. She was a daydreamer, she couldnt help herself.

Seeing that his shots were having little effect on their target, Kuro growled in frustration. Melania and Brooke were nowhere to be found and Azure, as usual was being shy off in the corner. He was alone against this thing. Wonderful. Just wonderful. The stocks on the weapons extended and he clicked them together, forming his staff. The blades/bayonets on the ends of each of his weapons extended and began glowing, as they usually did when using the staff weapon. His concentration was kept solely on his mechanic opponent, but he shot occasional glances at Azure behind him. He thought she was in the other corner moments ago, but he guessed she had moved. His eyes landed on where she was standing, and he saw why she moved: another team entered the area. Wonderful. Now another team could witness him embarassing himself while his team was absent.

He charged the thing again, sliding on his knees under a strike and swinging his poleaxe to catch another punch on the tailend of his weapon. He held it back, just barely though. He snuck another glance to Azure, his expression asking for help.

"Azure......seriously......this was supposed to be a team thing," he pleaded as he pulled the trigger on one of the shotguns to use the force to break the lock between the robot and himself. He flipped backwards and slid across the ground as he landed, staff held behind him in one hand and his other flat on the ground to steady himself.

Mel was staying in the sidelines of the fight as she was spending most of her time staring longingly at Azure.

Why what an adorable lil' faunus she is... I wonder if she's fine being in a relationship with girls...

Mel couldn't help herself but to walk over to the faunus girl and give her a hug.

@apoliseno (You have the worst teammates)

"He looks like he can use some help.... (Looks to Curve as if telling him what he was about to do) I got this one." Sward began to walk when all of a sudden he was gone, but Curve knew better. He knew that Sward had monstrous speed. He then drop kicked the machine and did a back flip landing perfectly back on his two feet. Sward kicked the droid so hard that it went flying a little and fell onto the ground on its back. It quickly recovered and as it got up Sward threw one of his blades which stuck itself in the droids chest piece. It then charged at Sward. Sward's eyes glowed emerald green. He then drew his other blade and charged the droid too. Both were increasing there speed until they were within range of each other. The droid threw a punch but Sward dodged it perfectly to his left and did a quick 360 spin and with the other sword piercing into the droid chest right next to the other one. Sward then gripped both his blades and moved them outward cutting the arms off the droid. The droid went on his knees and had its head down. It looked up to only see the end barrel of Swards rifle. There was a shot and it was done. As the droid fell with a huge opening where its face should have been.

Okay, that was impressive. A little overdramatic, but impressive nonetheless. Kuro was about to use his Semblance had the green guy not joined in on the fight. He was strong. Very strong. He wondered what this guy was like personality-wise, because right now he assumed he was one that let actions speak louder than words. Respectable. Eyes still wide as the droid hit the ground with a clunk in a smoking heap. That thing was gonna need repairs if the students were still going to use it to train, and mechanical repairs was not on Kuro's skillset. The blades at the ends of his staff retracted and he separated the two shotguns, retracting the stocks and putting them back in their place above the gun's body. He stuck them in two holsters on his back, the barrels facing straight down while the grips stuck out above his shoulders. He shot his team a glare, signaling they were going to have a talk later. He didn't want to, but he was struggling a bit. He had trained a lot, but he was still only a first-year going into his second semester. He walked up to the green guy and brushed a sweaty strand of hair out his eye as he walked.

"Thanks for the help, dude. This was supposed to be a team exercise, but they aren't the most active girls I know. I've seen you around here before...buuut I can't remember your name. What was it again," Kuro asked, trying to hide the fact he was a bit in pain.

@theManCalledSting @HoneyBear-Kat @SdrawcabDaer

"The name is Sward Green. I'm... sorry if I interrupted your team training." Sward spoke nice and calm, he did this kind of training when he was at Shade Academy. Just then Locke poped out of nowhere next to OJ. "WWWOOOOWWWW!!!!! That was amazing Sward! I heard that you two new guys were strong but I didn't know you were that strong! That was vicious! I can't wait to see what you can do Curve!" Sward was still feeling a little guilty. I mean he just ruined the man's team exercise. He had to find a way to make it up to him. "Hey Kuro... Do you and your team wanna perhaps... spar with me instead? I mean. It seems that it will be (Head pops off of droid and begins to spark and catches fire and quickly dies out.) awhile before that droid is fixed and I need to brush up on my dodging skills as well.

Kuro was actually a bit surprised by Sward's kind attitude. His kind attitude didn't even match the lethal force he used to take down that bot. Stretching his body by leaning back with his hands on his sides, Kuro cracked his neck as well. He came back upright with a smirk. That robot was a warmup.

"You think I'm tired from that? Please! That pile of scrap ain't got nothin' on me! Buuuut, my team's probably not going to," he said as he looked back to his team. "You guys up for a sparring match?"

@theManCalledSting @HoneyBear-Kat @Alstromeria

Curve rolled his shoulders, limbering up. He wasn't a very patient person, and this guy training obviously wasn't up to the robots standards. He steped onto the training field, his boots claBmp-ing on the sturdy floor. He went over to the controll panel and pressed his fist down onto the power button. "Buddy," he adressed Kuro, casting a sideways glance at the faunice girl, "You're gonna need to do alot better at blocking if you want to stay in one piece."

Curve walked over to the control panel and pressed a button. The floor of the training area opened and the broken droid was let down, only to have a new droid replacing it. It powered on assuming a stoic, stationary stance. "Pshh. Atlas." Curve cracked his neck.

Curve didn't figure himself as a teacher, but he did like showing off. His hand bumped the difficulty level on the robot a couple of levels up, and he turned to face it, pressing the start button and clutching his necklace, the markings on his face glowing dimly a bit. His breastplate expanded over his chest, and his blade made a pleasant *kashink* as it slid out of the armor. "This'll do for a warmup." He said lackadaisically taking a relaxed L stance with his knees locked. The robot swung its gun to point at Curve and fired.

Like lightening, his arm moved, the bullet glancing off his blade. Twice. Three times. The speed began to pick up. Five. Sixseveneight. Nineteneleventwelvethirteen. Like clockwork, Curve's carefully drilled reflexes deflected the shots again and again. The droid stopped firing and charged for melee combat. Its sword arm came up in an overhead arc, then down, right on top of Curve. But it froze, the blade just inches from connecting. Curve had grabbed the robots wrist, and held fast, the short but burly teenager holding the arm mid-blow as the markings on his face glowed. Curve had absorbed the impact from the bullets, and the connection now, and he was not amused.

Curve pulled his head back and unceremoniously smacked it against the robots central processing unit, causing it to stumble back. "Atlas tech," he stated blandly, "I've fought worse." Before the robot could lunge forwards again, Curve pressed his fist down on the power button of the control counsel, and the robot whirred down. He made a 'Look at me' gesture with two fingers at the boy who was drilling it before he was. "Defense before offense. Then you can beat the other person to a pulp." Curve glanced disdainfully at Lockes sudden outward expression of excitement with an inward sigh. This was the one who was supposed to be the team leader. No discipline at all. "Hope you learned something," Curve said, cracking his neck, "I guess we've got time for a sparr. I'll take Locke."

Looking at the new arrival, Kuro felt just a bit intimidated by looking at him. He may be on the shorter side, but he was built like a tank and carried an expression that said "get out of my way or get trampled under my boot," ditto goes for his walk and body language. The guy wasn't wrong when he said Kuro lacked in the defense department, but Kuro always relied on his agility to evade attacks and strike quickly. The only reason he took a bit of a beating from that bot was because of a lack of sleep. He slammed a fist into an open palm and cracked his knuckles, signalling he was still up for a sparring session.

"I'll take that under advisement, Muscles. I guess that means I'll be fighting Sward. Awesome," he said. Just as he was about to yell at his team again, his face made an expression as if he just remembered something. "I almost forgot to introduce myself!" He facepalmed after that declaration. "The name's Kuro Mayonaka. Pleasure to meet all of ya."

Azure Snow

"Azure....seriously...this is supposed to be a team thing." Kuro's scolding voice broke her out of her little day dream. Her ears sprang up into an alert state, almost looking at him. She blinked twice, her mouth pursed into a small little "o" shape. Her eyes moved from left to right, making sure he was talking to her. She raised a finger and pointed at herself, tilting her head slightly to the left in a questionable manner. When she realized he was infact speaking directly to her, a cloak of shame quickly wrapped itself around her. Her ears went flat against her her head and her tail pressed into her legs. She felt apologetic. Azure rubbed her arm sheepishly, looking away from him.

Suddenly she felt the warm embrace of a hug around her. Her tail puffed, as well as her lower-back length, two toned hair. Her different colored eyes moved to see who ensnared her in the cuddly trap. Her face burned red and the small faunus smiled nervously, she waved as she looked up at Mel, another team mate.

A large clammer brought her ears to attention again. When she looked, she saw a green knight standing over the body of a mauled mechanical humanoid. "Oh dear..." her voice was as tiny as her stature. Kuro continued to make a comment about the team, earning a reluctant grin from the fox. She listened in as the knight introduced himself, another of the mysterious team members yelling in amazement. He sure was loud, and excited. The robot's head popped off with the sound of static and flashing sparks, setting aflame as the grande finale to the show. The unpredicted burst caused the fox to jump and flinch. Kuro's glare was menacing, making the faunus shrink further into Mel's arms.

The two spoke a little while longer before before Kuro turned to look at them, asking if they want to take part in a sparr. She didnt want to, but her guilt tugged at her. They were a team, she had to be there for him and the rest of their team. She didnt nod, nor did she shake her head, instead she gentley grabbed Mel's arms and unwrapped them from her own body. Azure took a few steps foreward, to signify she was in if Kuro really wanted them to. Suddenly a larger member stepped up, his heavy feet thudding on the ground with every step of his boots. Azure took and intimidated step back. The large make pressed a few buttons and another one of the droids was summoned. A rude comment was made from the guy about Atlas. The petite vixen scowled, eye brows furrowing, nose scrunched, and lips pouting. She took a few more steps forward, hands crossed over her chest, hips leaning to one side. She was offended. She originated from Atlas, that was her home before Beacon. She watched intently, and when he finished he made another Atlas comment. Fluffy white ears went flat once again, and a light growl rumbled in her throat. Big doe eyes narrowed at him. 'How rude...' she thought. Kuro, however, managed to distracted when he facepalmed. Her hand moved to her lips, trying to conceal a giggle when he forgot to introduce himself.

@theManCalledSting

"Alright then but may i too practice a round of firing a bullet or two before we fight." As he walked past Curve to the control panel he whispered to Curve. "Try not to break or team leader." Sward hit the button and signaled for 5 droids. He then bumped the difficulty level to the max. The screen began to give warning signs but Sward ignored them then as he took his position he fired his gun once. "Alright!... I'm ready." The droids all had machine guns but with tazor bullets that hurt like hell as ammunition. As soon as Sward moved an inch they would fire at him. It was a standoff. Then as Sward lifted his weapon the droids fired. Sward just gave a small smirk and fired one bullet. The bullet ricoched off the other bullets and hit the first droid in the head blasting its way through its metal cranium like nothing. The destroyed droid then continued to fire his gun and hit the one behind it and the one behind that. Soon the droids were team killing each other until there was one left who dodged its teams fire and jumped in the air. "oh a smart one." As it landed it brought it's gun up and was on the trigger but Sward was a faster gunslinger. He fired his second bullet down the barrel of the droids gun right when the droid fired. Then the gun blew up with a static pulse and the top half of the droid was in pieces.

Sward turned around. "Thanks for waiting Kuro." Just then Sward noticed another fauna like himself but was a girl and a fox by the looks of it. There was also another girl but Sward didn't know much about her either. I guess this must be Kuro's squad. Returning to face Kuro "Now that I had that little practice of mine I'm ready to spar with you and your team. OJ! Will you please give us a countdown and be our referee?"

Locke was now more excited to fight than ever. these guys seem like barrels of fun. He knew he was loud and obnoxious but he ciuldn't help himself. Whenever he sees a new weapon, ability, or person he wants to know everything about them. Now he gets to fight one of the transfer students. "Alright Curve I'll show you why was put as squad leader!"

Kuro noticed Azure's failed attempt at stifling a giggle, and would note that for later. He would turn the alarm clock all the way up for tomorrow morning....and sneak it under her pillow. Her fault, not his. He laughed a bit at it, but he hid it. That would be for later, no need to think about it now. He had two members of his team on board, and that was probably all he was going to get. He had to think this through. Azure was fast, and her Faunus abilities in combination with her Semblance gave her a great advantage over humans. On a good day, he himself would able to weave, roll, and flip faster around some attacks, but he wasn't running on a whole lotta sleep. Not to mention if he used his Semblance a strain was gonna be put on his body. The won't end well if the fight continues. He's going to have to be smart about this, more so than usual. Maybe he would actually try more of a defense instead of cancelling one attack with one of his. He nodded to Azure to show that he was ready, then to Sward.

Kuro grabbed the twin shotguns from the holsters on his back and slid them out, holding them down at his sides. He stood on the tips of his feet, ready to spring up and dodge at a moment's notice. His fingers gently rested on the triggers of his shotguns. It was three against one, but the one was more skilled and more experienced than the three. Kuro probably could come close to matching his speed if he had gotten some decent sleep, but his skill was on a different level. Sward took out five max level bots with less than five bullets. Kuro had a rough time taking one. He hoped Melania wasn't too busy swooning at Azure to fight. He might personally kick her out of the ring if she did. This was his chance to show how much he had grown, and he wasn't going to let this opportunity slip.

OJ watched as Sward downed five bots in two shots. "Hmmph. Showoff." He smiled goodnaturedly. At the referee comment, OJ shrugged. "I ain't doin anything else. An bruh," he nodded at Kuro, who was waving his shotguns around like anyone's business, "Keep yo guns on one person a'ight? Just pairs kay?" To be honest, he thought sparring was a waste of time, but everyone else loved it. Who was he to judge? On another honest note, he thought Kuro was a cowboy. OJ'd seen him fight on class trips before, and he was a bit too gunhappy for his taste. Curve was a bit of an ass. But he was an ass with skill. 'Maybe not an ass,' OJ thought, 'just misunderstood.'

After the sparring partners had taken their places, OJ gazed around. He was pretty sure the quiet girl, Azure, wasn't going to willingly fight anyone, but hey, you had to sometime. "Awrite," OJ said dropping his hand, "Go."

Curve was not affected at the comment the faunice girl made at him. She was right, but Curve preferred the term 'blunt.' He ignored it. Curve was also not impressed by Locke's enthusiasm. Couldn't he take anything seriously? Fighting wasn't just something Curve did for fun, or in school, before Shade academy had asked for him to join, it was his way of life. Every muscle in his body was triggered and trained to respond to every move his opponent made. Nobody here understood that, really. "Just try not to hurt yourself." Curve remarked to Locke, disinterested almost. His air of indifference hid what he was really doing. Sizing him up. Observing. He was a pretty wiry kid, a well placed punch would send him sprawling. 'No matter,' Curve thought, holding his blade out in front of him, locking his knees in his usual fashion, and holding his other hand behind his back as a fencer would. He'd let the ball of energy wear himself out. Always let the enemy make the first move. Never rush. Curve's dark gaze was unwavering as he took in the scene in front of him.

A little shocked that he wasn't gonna have any backup, Kuro thought he should just come out swinging. When OJ dropped his arm, Kuro extended the blades on each shotgun and straightened out the grips. The stocks folded back and he connected them into Eclipse, his staff. He sprinted for Sward with a one-handed grip on his staff for now. Right before he approached Sward, he slid right past him and attempted to kick his legs out from under him by spinning on the ground, using Eclipse as a base to spin on.

She hoped a sparr wouldnt break out but she guessed it was inevitable. She was denying it at first until it became official. The loud one was pretty jumpy and Azure tilted her head at him before smiling. He was entertaining and seemed nice. He probably intimidated her the least. Mel, said shed take part in a little sparr, adding shed be even more eager to if Azure was taking part in it. There was no backing out now. Two of the three team members, that were currently present, wanted in. And majority wins. It would be rude to back out on her team. She nodded to Mel.

Azure made her way to Kuro. The closer she got to the guys, the taller they became. She was tiny next to them. Her hips swayed with every step, and she stopped beside Kuro, giving good space between them. She looked up at him, like a puppy waiting for an owner's command. Her tail wagged slightly and her ears bounced. Kuro nodded to her. That was the signal.

She looked at her opponents with an innocent expression, ears facing them, nose twitching, searching for a scent, but most importantly she was memorizing what their aura's felt like, and looked like. She could see the faint glow of colored hues around them as well as her comrades. Azure looked back to see if Mel was joining, hoping she would. She would feel a tad more comfortable. Small hands stood at her side, hovering over the pistols at her hips, ready when ever the bell went off marking the beginning of a match.

And sure enough it did...

(Btw, the 'how rude' thing was in her thoughts lol. When its italicized its her thoughts :3 for future ref)

Mel squeeled like a school girl when Azure nodded back to her, Goodness, she nodded back! Could this mean anything?

Mel calmed herself and went into a fighting stance, "My Heart is racing, adrenaline running through me... I'm ready for this!"

Swards's eyes glowed emerald green again as Kuro charged him. All of a sudden Kuro was right behind him but Sward knew what he was trying to do because he would try to do the same thing. Knocking down your opponent is one of the fastest ways to win in battle and Kuro was attempting this strategy. He had nice speed but Sward was faster. "Nice try."(Sward jumps backwards over Kuro and fires one bullet at Kuro's weapon Eclipse hopefully to make him fall down.) As Sward landed back on two feet he jumped back a good distance. He then combined his blades into his two handed blade. "Now that I got to see what your speed is like. Let's see how well you fight!" This time Sward charged at him.

The small girl watched as their leader went for it. She watched intensely, concern written all over her face. Her fingers interlocked with eachother and her hands were raised to her chest. She bit her lower lip as she watched the two sparr. How could she not be concerned? Azure cared about everyone, regardless of who they are, she just didnt want to see anyone get hurt. Her tail didnt move, it stood still, all her focus on the scene before her. As for her ears, they were standing straight up.

Kuro tried to approach Sward from behind, but the knight caught on. Whislt watching them, the fox thought about how she would approach this match. She isnt very strong, and very easily man handled. But because of her high speeds, dodging is a cinch. She relied heavily on the pressure points of her opponent since she doesnt have a lot of physical strength. Quick jabs to those spots; thats her fighting style. But if she went against some one like Sward, she would have a little more trouble since he has armor, and would have to rely on her weaponry more than herself.

Her semblance couldnt really be turned off, but she focuses enough it can be amplified. But there was no need to, at least not now. She could feel the auras of Kuro and Sward clashing and colliding, it wasnt as scary as it was beautiful. It was a dance of color, she only wished others could see like her too. "So....Azure...." Azure's ear twitched and rotated toward Mel's voice, but her bright eyes remained on the match before her. "Can we like, you know, hang out after this?" That certainly caught her attention, the faunus turned her head to look at her female team mate. She blinked and tilted her head, listening as Mel continued,"Just you and me and nobody else! If thats okay with you!" Azure stared at her for a moment, thinking. She had never spent alone time with anyone. It was either the whole team or just off on her own. The idea made her a little nervous, how would she carry a conversation? What would she even talk about? The fox isnt the social type, very solitary, 'What is it that humans care to even converse about?' she thought. But it wouldnt hurt right? 'I suppose I could practice what little social skills i have and put them to use...' she concluded with herself. Azure hadnt realized that she was giving Mel a blank stare while her mind got lost with in its own thoughts...again. Blinking, she came back to reality, grinned at Mel with her enlarged canine teeth and gave a curt nod. Her attention went back to Kuro and the other team, she pointed,"What about them? I do not want them to feel...um..how do you say...the left out?"

'Incorrect, say it again...'

"L-left out..." she nodded to herself in victory for correcting herself. Azure often had trouble when it comes to speaking. Since a very young age, she never had the chance to actually talk to people. She was kept in doors, kept from developing her skills in speech. So now she talks rather oddly. At times she adds in words that dont need to be there (like adding "the" when she was trying to say left out), or she mispronounces things. Her words have no flow and she ends up sounding like an alien learning english.

(Shes got kinks .__.)
