Thalia Neko

Having just arrived in Vale, Thalia expected it to be quieter, calmer than she was used to. Traveling around helped ease her mind from her worldly worries and the bouts of self-loathing that came with isolating oneself. Which just meant -traveling was fun enough to take her mind off being lonely. Vale was supposed to be a nice, tranquil change of pace. However, wouldn't you know it? The first thing that caught her attention was something oh-so familiar. Glancing up from her scroll, Thalia's dark charcoal eyes caught sight of a smoke and flames. Citizens ran screaming, women crying, men shouting, children bawling. It was a freaking mess. "Ah, rubbish, what the hell? Honestly!" Thalia bemoaned the sight. A swanky, important looking building seemed to be under attack, dead center of the city. Correction: it was under attack! And wouldn't you know it? Her old posse was the ones behind it! Familiar white, black, and red uniformed people were attacking this special building and area. They were terrorizing the people, and well, frankly they were being huge asswipes! Just like the pests a lot of people claimed Faunus to be.

"Seriously! Don't they realize this shit just makes us look worse?" Thalia grumbled, deciding what to do, her tail flicking irritably.

Luci has recently gotten off work, and her attention was drawn to what sounded like an explosion a few blocks off. She narrowed her eyes curiously and started in that direction at a jog. She had never been very interested in the White Fang. She understood that they used to be a good group of Faunus that were just trying to work to protect people like herself. But she didn’t like what they were becoming. It was like the group was being controlled by a bunch of unruly children, starting fights, vandalizing shit, and as she came upon the smoke and evacuating people, apparently blowing up buildings now, too! She shook her head a little and pulled a sword from its sheath, which, yes, she just carries around with her everywhere, and started to scan the area. She easily picked out the uniformed members and started after a couple of them

Alias Bela
// Tall Bear Tall Bear Thalia_Neko Thalia_Neko

Alias was struggling to get out of his bed. He'd spent the last three days cooped up in his hotel room, wondering what his next step was. A job? Friends? Locking himself in the hotel room and refusing to keep paying their absurd prices for renting the room? Nothing seemed like a good idea. He was stumped. That was, until, the scent of smoke graced his nostrils. It reminded him of home. That's it! I need a home! Not some dank hotel room!

Alias flopped out of bed and onto the floor, pulling his clothes on hastily as the scent of smoke got stronger. With a slight smile on his face, he looked in the mirror and began fixing his messy white hair. He pulled the harness that held his tranquilizer rifle and ammunition on over his shirt and pulled his jacket on over it, and turned to close the window before he began choking on the thick black smoke- which was beginning to bother him a little. It irritated his lungs. God, even the smoke is less natural in Vale!

He waltzed over to his window and, as he moved to close it, he noticed something off about the street in front of him. Namely the fire, extremist faunus White Fang members and general chaos. "Oh.. Dear."

Alias wasted no time. This was what he was here for! Kinda! Not really! Helping people wasn't high on his list of priorities, but since the hotel refused to deliver cereal directly to his door he needed something to wake him up. This could be that something!

He hopped out of the window and onto the fire escape, unholstering and unfolding his tranquilizer rifle and loading a dart into the chamber. After taking aim for a moment, he fired onto a faunus. It didn't take long for the White Fang member's knees to crumple. A few of the other members took cover after watching their comrade take such an unexpected hit, but most stayed out in the open. Alias repeated the process one more time before his location was pinpointed by a crafty faunus and he began taking fire, prompting him to dive back through his window for cover. A White Fang member quickly began climbing the fire escape to avenge his unconscious allies.

Cole Brandt

High upon the rooftop of a nearby hotel, Cole watched the chaos with an irritated frown plastered on his face. The White Fang running around had possibly spoiled his plans of getting his hands on his prize. They just had to have chosen this day to launch one of their so-called revenge attacks. They'd certainly gotten bolder, he could admit. It was the first time the Council offices had come under attack since just before the outbreak of the Great War.

Of course, he doubted any of the Council members were actually inside. The paranoid bastards had no less than seven hidden ways out of the building, that he knew of. Titbits such as this were useful in his line of work.

But his objective was not the building or the Council. No, it was the one opposite. A squat, plain looking two-story house that was owned by one of the most notorious collectors in the underworld. A man who would go to extreme lengths to acquire his treasures.

And Cole was going to steal from him. A smart decision? Probably not.

He was interrupted from his thoughts by the sound of gunfire. It was audible all over the area, but since it was fairly far away from his present location, the sound was muted somewhat. This was directly below him.

He glanced down, seeing a man in white duck into a window, abandoning his previous position on the fire escape which being peppered by bullets fired by some White Fang below. Even as he watched, one of the terrorists began climbing the fire escape, no doubt hoping to catch the man before he could escape.

And he hadn’t activated his Semblance, meaning he was visible to the world. Cole let out a near silent curse as the White Fang spotted him, raising his rifle. He didn’t fire right away, perhaps put off by the masked and cloaked man before him, but Cole didn’t give him a chance to try.

Jumping off the roof, the thief landed in front of the terrorist, knocking aside the rifle just as the Faunus finally pulled the trigger, spraying rounds widely to his right. Cole followed this up with a punch to the jaw that knocked his opponent off balance, before finally grabbing his head and slamming it into the railing. There was a satisfying crack as the iconic Grimm mask cracked, as well as the owner's nose. Cole let the unconscious White Fang fall to the ground. He peered over the railing, only to groan as he saw more White Fang starting to climb up.

“Today just isn’t my day” He muttered, drawing his pistol and dagger from their respective housings.

So this was it huh? Faunus liberation and rights. Attacking innocents, blowing up buildings, only to maybe get one or two bigoted losers in power? If they were lucky? Pfft, "What a joke," she grunted embittered by it all. There across the street, was some chick who whipped out a sword and began running towards the place. This girl was gunna help? Wait, she was a Faunus too, as noted by her ears. While that Faunus chick was rushing forward to help, she caught sight of another person helping. He was up on a fire escape on a nearby building, shooting.. darts or something at the enemy White Fang members. It was hard to tell what they were from this distance, but they took out a couple really quickly. Naturally, he was chased. The White Fang didn't like aggressors from what she remembered... Even though that's exactly what they were. Finally, there was a third person putting his effort in. White Fang were shooting him and fighting with him, and climbing after him. Damn, were all Vale people as involved like this?? Vacuo peeps tended to do their own thing from her experience.

Still, seeing fellow citizens taking up the cause spurred Thalia into action. Sighing and putting her sunglasses on, she rushed forward. Extending her hands, orange tattoos glowed on her arms, firing out bursts of fire at a couple of White Fang, knocking them aside. She rushed into the building that was on fire, to try to help people escape. The fire also needed to be contained, because it was spreading to the nearby buildings... Which had people in them that also would need help. She got to work inside, quickly moving aside broken debris trapping people, helping them up and out, while dousing some of them with Water Dust straight from her hands, earning her a few confused looks.

Cameo Lane wasn't like those commercial businesses where one ordered their coffee and one got out of dodge the moment they got what they came there for. It was a place of serenity and peace, a place to chill and unwind, maybe have a date or do your homework. So, when Elle saw one of the nearby buildings to explode, smoke filling the air, rocks and debris pattering against the glass panes of the store, wall lamps shaking, coffee clinking against plate as the table rattled, people screaming and pointing outside, the smell of smoke wafting up her nose, her face turned a pale pallor, putting down the tray on her hand down a nearby table before looking at her boss. Winston, the owner, was frowning as he lowered the lever of the coffee machine, fingers pressing on the hidden button underneath the counter. A mechanism opened next to the windows, sheets of metal ascending to cover the inside of the store. "Everyone, please calm down," his voice was loud in the cafe, addressing his nervous customers, "Civilian customers, please remain inside the cafe. It's safer if you stay. Hunter customers, please use the front door to exit my premises." At this, the civilians took their seats, checking their scrolls and calling people while the Hunters exited the cafe. Elle took a step forward, but stopped herself. She was a civilian now.

"Elle," Winston said in a low voice, and she turned to him, "I can't leave the shop. I'm their last line of defence. But I also know that there will be wounded that needs help. I need you to bring them back here." Elle tensed, mouth opening yet nothing escaped. She closed it again. Winston put a hand on her shoulder, squeezing in reassurance. "I know you have training. You don't have to go far. People need our help."

Elle pursed her lips, nodding her head slowly. "I don't have my weapon with me, but I should be able to stay safe with my aura." Her fingers played with the knot of her apron but she didn't remove it. She didn't want her shirt and pants to be stained with blood and dust too much.

Winston patted her back. "Good luck. You can grab the fire extinguisher on your way out."

With his blessing, Elle exited the cafe, armed only with a fire extinguisher, wearing a white collared shirt, white apron, black pants, and pointy shoes, searching for people that needed her help.

Luci yanked the legs out from under someone, causing them to hit their head and go unconscious. Whilst being descended on by about four people, she shrieked out of fear and lashed out with her weapon on impulse, lacerating a couple people far more severely than she had intended
“Oh! On no! I’m sorry- I- shit I didn’t mean-“
Although the opponents didn’t particularly seem to care for her apology. Luci received a solid two punches to the face before snapping back to reality. She had to get up, as she had been knocked to the ground. Growling slightly, she dusted herself up and wiped off her mouth of blood, snapping her sword back into one solid section.

She lunged forward and then proceeded to engage the two remaining white fang members, who spent the whole time yelling profanities at her, mostly things like “disgrace,” or “Traitor”. She did her best to ignore them, but would more than likely be remembering this later tonight when she was laying on her bottom bunk and futile-ly trying to sleep

Crvena Boe
// open for interaction - third floor of the burning building

Crvena was new to the coffee scene. In fact, he'd never bothered trying it before. He sat with his weight shifted to one leg, tapping his foot and browsing the broad selection of brew at Cameo Lane with curiosity. This was one of his favorite places in the city- calm atmosphere, considerate staff and a wholesome community of customers made for an ideal spot for almost any occasion. Still, despite Crvena's predictable daily customership at the coffee house over the past few months, he'd hardly ordered anything aside from cold water (or tea, on a few very rare occasions). He was only really there for the feeling it gave him. Serenity. That, and nobody bothered him if he sat at a table and worked for hours on end. The same couldn't be said for most places in the city.

The serene environment was spoiled one day, however, by an explosion nearby. Crvena nearly shot from his seat. He was jittery that morning. Work was driving him to hell and back on a daily basis, and he'd come into the coffee house earlier than usual that morning to catch up. This wasn't what he needed. The other customers weren't necessarily considerate, either- most of them were screaming. Still, he couldn't say he wasn't dying of curiosity himself... He closed the laptop he'd been reading with for the past half hour or so and began to move towards the door, but was cut off by a distinct woosh as the metal shutters on the windows shut. He turned to face an authoritative voice coming from behind the counter, taking his words very seriously. Still, despite him technically being a 'civilian', Crvena felt a certain responsibility. He walked out the door with the huntsmen and huntresses, small handgun in his waistband. It was hidden by his sweater, but the feeling of its cold metal against his skin was a constant reminder that it was there should he need it.

Crvena initially went directly to the burning building- scanning the scene like he would if he were on the job. He was looking for a motive. This was practice. He made his way around the back of the building and began climbing the fire escape, to where it was a little safer. He entered in on the third floor- where the flames hadn't reached yet. Lo and behold, there were still some frantic voices around the halls.

Thalia Neko

Turning into another hallway, Thalia was following the voices. At the other end, climbing inside, she spotted a boy. Her tail twitched in irritation. "What?.." she trailed off shielding her face from rising smoke. Moving quickly over, she asked the guy in the black sweater and red scarf, "What are you doing?! Leave! You shouldn't be coming in here, it isn't safe!" She needed her words to get through to him quickly, as she pointed back towards the fire escape he climbed in here on. "Leave! Now!" She glared at him, but her face was one contorted more with worry and exasperation. She hoped her words sunk in, as she couldn't neglect the cries of trapped people. "Aughh," she grunted in annoyance at him, as Thalia turned around to go help others. She pried open a door, and saw a couple huddling together. "Come! I'll help! There's a route out here, it's safe, but not for long!" They looked at each other, then got up quickly, rushing to where she indicated. They didn't look twice at her as they fled and descended the fire escape quickly. A thankless job, but she wasn't saving people to be thanked. The floor shook, indicating the foundations of the building were coming apart, and the rising smoke indicated the fire was climbing higher, spreading. They didn't have much time. This entire place would become a deathtrap, then it would collapse.

Luci mad managed to shake the white fang members that were Pershing her, knocking one on conscious.. or, maybe he was dead. She couldn’t tell.. but the other one fled, which gave her the chance to shoot past Thalia, father into the burning building to start looking for survivors. She made sure to keep low, her ears tucked close to her head
“Hello??! I’m here to help! I need you to say something if you’re in here!”
She though she could pick something up, it was faint amongst the crackle of fire and the screams of others. She could probably save more than one person, possibly even a group, but knew that she would only be able to carry two people max, so she hoped that the victims weren’t too badly injured back here.

She had reached closer to the middle of the building now, and was still hearing faint calls. She couldn’t quite figure out from where, though

Cole Brandt
Cole drilled a round into the first White Fang to reach his level. The wolf Faunus slowly sank to her knees, her comrades brushing past her to get to the source of their troubles, armed with large cleaver-like blades.

The Mistralian was easily able to dodge their clumsy swings. Ducking underneath one blow, he used an Aura enhanced push to send the second attacker over the side of the railing. He screamed, arms failing as he plunged to his death.

The last was just as unsuccessful as his friends, earning a blow to the head with a dagger hilt for his efforts that knocked him senseless.

Cole paused and gazed over the railing once again. Thankfully there were no more White Fang to contend with for now. It would desirable to make a run for his objective. With his Semblance and all the confusion, he should be able to get in and out without any more incidents.

So with a deep breath he activated his Semblance and vanished from the view of the world.

The sound of Elle's beating heart overwhelmed the sirens and the screams all around her. She didn't sprint nor run, but settled with a calm jog, the fire extinguisher heavy in her hand. She was able to see the masks and uniform of White Fang, but there were many Hunters that were already dishing out the hurt on those terrorists. It hurt to pay little attention to those who were confused, walking around with a dazed look on their faces. She ignored them in favour of those who were bleeding, but it doubly hurt more when she ignored those who were bleeding too much. It hurt, knowing that she couldn't save them. She wasn't trained to help them, and she might only bring out worse results if she did help. But she helped those who she could help, blood staining her apron and her shirt, flecks of dust and blood caked on her trousers and shoes in the many times that she knelt on the ground pooled with the red liquid. But it came to the point that she had to approach the attacked building that was also on fire. The fire extinguisher was not enough, and her hands shook as she stared at it. She thought of leaving, dealing with something less intimidating, something with less risk, when she saw someone exit the building. Gritting her teeth, she walked towards it, the nozzle of the fire extinguisher pointed at the doorway, emitting psshh sounds as its foam removed some of the flames around it. Embers of the building and specks of the extinguisher rose around her as the crackling of the foundations filled her ears as she cleared the flames. She hoped that her extinguisher would be enough for the last person to escape.

Thalia Neko

As someone else entered the building, rushing passed her, Thalia reached out. "Hey! Don't go in there... it-it's dangerous..." she trailed off, giving a sigh. What was with all these people throwing themselves into danger? Rushing behind the girl, she came up to her. Then clapped her on the shoulder, pointing to a room that had debris in front of it. "There's some in there," she said, hearing people shout and bang on the door. "Rescue them after I open it up." She stepped towards the door, then waved her hands, swirls of 'wind' appearing as tattoos on her arms. Wind blew out and smashed the debris, sweeping it away. "There! It's clear! Help those people!" That seemed to be everyone on this floor.. Maybe everyone was finally rescued? One final sweep of the floor, and she would be out.

Following the orders of the other female quickly, she launched into the room and started brushing debris aside. After a few seconds she had to start duck walking, as the smoke was starting to fill the building more. She found a group of three people huddled in the corner and called out to them, reaching out an arm
“Come on! Let’s go!”
She took off the sweater she was wearing and gave it to the trio of people, instructing them to cover their mouths and noses to minimalize the amount of smoke they were inhaling. She lead them out of the room and out to Thalia.

“Is there anyone else left?”
Luci asked Thalia, having to speak loudly over the roar of the fire around them

Thalia Neko

Thalia looked around, straining her Faunus ears to see if she could hear any more. She shook her head. "I don't think so. I can't hear anyone else!" An explosion rocked the lower floors, shaking the building. Flames burst nearby and the smoke rolled out thicker. "C'mon, we gotta go!" She helped the other girl, and the people they were rescuing, by shielding them with an bubble of air-element using her Semblance. Together, they rushed out the building, going down the stairs and towards the front door. Which had a lack of flames, due to another girl spraying it with an extinguisher. As they all left, she coughed some, looking towards the girl, "Thanks," she said, grateful the flames had been cleared out of the way.

Elle kept the entrance void of flames, body high strung as she continued what it was she was doing. The White Fang were slowly lessening in their numbers, but she couldn't spare more than a second's glance from the fiery building. Some people passed her by, sometimes not even registering that she existed out of the sheer need for survival. That was okay for her. She really wasn't doing it so people would be grateful to her. Another trigger of the extinguisher, another area missing flames. But she couldn't keep it up. The gauge's needle was starting to land on the 'Empty' label. She licked her lips, feet starting to pace and to get out of dodge. That plan was suspended, however, seeing a group of people exiting and making their way out, accompanied by what looked like a faunus Huntress? She only waited for them to exit out of the flaming building before getting herself out of the way. The entrance didn't collapse or anything dramatic like that, but the flames did start creeping on the surrounding doorway. She ran a sweaty hand over now-ashen hair, spreading grey dirt all over her black hair. She almost slumped in relief before turning towards the latest escapees of the building. "There's a cafe near here, Cameo Lane," she told them, coughing a little bit. Some smoke she still managed to inhale. "My boss turned it into a refuge of sorts. We can go there now."

Cobalt's eyes narrowed as he shot down the street, swerving through the traffic before squeezing the front brake, the tail end of the heavy motorcycle swinging around and slapping the White Fang member brutally in the face and chest, sending the would-be terrorist sprawling.

"Oops, did that hurt? Sorry... not really," he said dryly. He pulled out a couple of shooter marble sized dull bronze spheres that pulsed with a pale blue light.

They were spheres of a thin layer of doubled Wind and Explosive Dust in crystalline glass form with the Aura charged core of an Ice Dust crystal. When fractured, a dense blast of icy fog blasted outward. He launched both at the burning building, the crystalline shell fracturing with a pop before a blast of chilly fog detonated outward, acting as a fire extinguisher on steroids.

Aleena smiled as she entered Vale, looking up at the mou, gains to see Beacon Academy "ahh, its been a while since I last been here, I wonder how the children are doing this time?" She smiled as she continued to the school, enjoying the sights of Vale as well

Thalia listened to her fellow helper. "A cafe as a refuge?" She thought it over, then shrugged. "Alright! Sounds perfect!" she said, turning to the people who they rescued from the burning building. She spent the next 30 seconds or so explaining, and telling them where the refuge was. They thanked her, then began making their way there. Thalia turned around to the girl who worked at the cafe. "Thanks for helping," she said with a swish of your tail. "You should probably get back to your cafe to help the people who show up."

"It's, uh, no problem. I might just do that." Elle nodded, giving Thalia a smile, although a bit weary. She turned to walk away, extinguisher heavy in her hand, but stopped mid-turn. "You can come with us, too, yknow. Um, if you want." She looked at the faunus huntress, then shrugging. "You're always welcome there. " She forced her smile to be more genuine, but the events of today strained it badly. "A customer's always good news."

I am taking a walk through the Emerald Forest looking for weaker Grimm to hunt but for some reason hasn’t found a single thing. As a matter of fact I haven’t seen any regular animals either. “Hmmm... It seems abnormally quiet today ... I wonder where all the animals are...” I continue to walk through the forest looking for my prey.
