Beacons airship, Callisto, resembled a turtle more than a transport as it slowly dug it's fins through the air. They seemed to be more of a steering system than propulsion, but it added to the somewhat mystical qualities of the ride. Passengers, the newest class of Beacon Academy, had view of Vale beneath them and the boundless sky all around. The metal flippers of the ship occasionally obscured the view below, but only momentarily. Time wasn't of any concern it seemed as long as the airship lazily crawled towards Beacon and docked there eventually.

Per the usual, plenty of students had gathered around viewing ports to watch the world below and to hopefully catch first sight of Beacon. Along with the chatter of excited and anxious students, news holograms played recapping the events of the week all around Remnant. Today, subjects of discussion included what Professor Ozpin is always drinking from his mug. As interesting as it was to hear the speculations of newscasters and guests, most students opted to socialize and take in the views.

----------------------------------------

Koamaru walked slowly through the viewing area, his jacket thrown across one shoulder. His tie hung loose around his neck, framing the first few buttons of his shirt being open and exposing bare skin. He was off the job, and therefore relaxing. His trusty sidearm still sat firmly in its holster under his left arm, however. Nobody had made a fuss about disarming him while boarding, so he took it as a sign that weapons were welcome. The security staff may have had a different opinion if they knew about the hidden features of his companion, but nobody asked.

Speaking of his companion, Gaucho pattered along at his right, sticking close to avoid being accidentally stepped on. The canine wasn't exactly easy to miss, being a bit overfed, but he was rather short in stature. Beside his physical size, Gaucho had been well trained to be a true companion. The only lapse in the dogs discipline seemed to be begging for treats around mealtimes, something Koamaru gave in to easily to at times.

Koamaru would never admit it out loud, but Gaucho was closer to heart walking at his feet than his pistol was while strapped to his ribs.

Koamaru stopped his pace and glanced down at his canine companion for a moment. Gaucho was thoroughly enjoying the adoring looks from several students as well as what could be described as an air of adventure. Koamaru would be lieing if he didn't acknowledge a similar feeling. With one hand dug into his left pocket and the other holding his jacket over his shoulder, he may have seemed more like security staff than a student. Perhaps like some kind of special agent.

Whatever the case, he wanted to observe a bit more before taking flight in the air of adventure that had enveloped himself and Gaucho. There was no reason why both of them should be tied down though.

Koamaru knelt down and placed his palm atop Gaucho's head, ruffling his ears slightly. "Go on, have fun."

Without a second wasted, Gaucho took off as fast as his little legs could carry him to ingratiate himself to the company of as many students as possible. The dog was extremely smart and they seemed to be in good company, so Koamaru had to problems letting his friend roam the ship to his hearts content. It was highly unlikely that any trouble would come of it.

As for his own plan, he took a few steps to the left until he came to the observatory window. He was familiar enough with Vale, but he had never gotten the chance to see so much at once. Even if he couldn't make out the specifics of all he was looking at below him, he knew it was beautiful and it deserved to be taken in.

Joshua awoke with a start as something fell onto the ground with a loud *CLANG* disrupting his otherwise peaceful nap. ~Well I guess its' time's way of saying get your ass up, among other things it seems.~ The book that had served as his eye cover, The Pieces of the Puzzle, the newest entry in the series he was reading, had slid off his face when he sat upright so suddenly. Standing up from a bench below deck, Joshua picked up the book in his meaty fist as well as placed his weapon on his back before climbing up the stairs to the observation deck. Opposite of the normal pitter patter of footsteps, Joshua walked up the stairs with a heavier tone due to his build and how well in shape he was. Looking around for somewhere to sit down, he noticed what looked to be some sort of dog run around on the floor before disappearing from his sight. Chuckling silently to himself, he turned back on his quest to find a seat to resume his reading, before he would be distracted once more. Finding said seat near the observation deck amongst several others on two winding benches, he parked himself on the one where he could be against the wall and continued to read.

Ignacia sat on a bench next to Agnes both of them slightly grumbly and evading their eyes from each other. Niether of them had seen each other for around 4 years and the whole situation felt completely surreal. Agnes had got on the airship with Mocha, as they were a part of the same unit and had known each other for a year or two. However, Ignacia was alone when boarding. Before either had realized it, they'd locked eyes and conversed lightly before sitting down on bench in the observation deck. Ignacia had her hands rested in the pockets of her shirt. Eyes shifting around as she thought about how to interact with her old friend. But soon a tall student clad in light armor with a large warhammer sat down on her other side. Ignacia eyed him down, observing how he casually read his book.

Agnes looked up, seeing Ignacia stare down another student as he flipped through the pages of his book. Seeing how she was being very annoying, Agnes tapped on Ignacia's shoulder whispering into her ear, "You know staring is rude right?", Ignacia glanced back, "Pshaw, it's not like he cares much."

Mocha watched from the other side of the deck as she read her own book. Uhhh, I'm reading a book too.

“Yes, my suitcases have everything. Yes, I will make sure to study diligently. Yes, yes, I understand…” Ryuuko sighed, looking outside the window. Of course her parents were worried. Almost understandably so, considering the weight the Shirogane name carried. “…Yes, I love you too. Don’t worry, for I will contact you again at a later time.” She ended the call on her scroll and sighed again. Glancing back at her fellow students, she put her hands into the pockets of her kimono cardigan and frowned slightly. The majority of people would probably not even bother walk up to her. A last name like Shirogane would intimidate others with its overwhelming amount of praise. If some did try to talk to her, they probably only wanted to talk to her because of the fame the name had. Regardless of what happened, Ryuuko hoped for the best to happen, though she didn't really expect it to.

Aaah. Nothing said pure tranquility like a relaxing Airship ride. It was times like these Neil could just sit back, relax, and-OH, WHO WAS HE KIDDING?! HE WAS SOOOO BOOORED!

Neil whined and moved around in his seat, upside down and his legs sticking up in the air, trying to find something to do. He did everything he could think of! He played on his handheld system, stared out the window, walked around the Airship, and now he was just sitting...Bored. Being a huntsman had always been his dream ever since he was a little kid, but if someone back then had told him that he'd have to wait on a boring airship ride to the most coolest place in remnant, he would've had second thoughts. But he was here now, meaning he'd have to bear with it for now. But how?! Hmmm...maybe he could try talking to someone...yeah...YEAH! He'd just- WOAH!Falling out of his seat, he scrambled up and dusted himself off. Okay, Neil! All ya gotta do is find your future buddy! Hmm...but who looked interesting enough Someone who screamed "BEFRIEND ME!". Neil hummed and scanned the ship, eyes roaming from person to person...

Until they landed on a girl in a kimono...Neil shrugged. Eh! She looked pretty lonely. He supposed he'd pull the ol' Cyclamen charm on her! Running a hand through his hair, he hummed as he made his way over to her. He had heard the last few bits of her conversation on her scroll. Sounded like more worried parents...Neil wishes he had those...NO! NO NO NO! No more Edgy Neil! It was fun Neil time now! With a grin, he walked faster over to her and plopped in the seat next to her. "Worried Folks, eh?" He asked, going back to his little upside down position on it. "They're just overreacting! We're only going to a school to learn how to fight creatures of pure darkness!" Neil chuckled, half joking and half serious. "Anyway, couldn't help but notice you looked kinda...ya know, alone! And I'm dealing with crippling loneliness myself! How weird, huh?!" He held out his hand. "Name's Neil! Local Pink-Worshiper! and Yooooou are?"

Ryuuko blinked with wide eyes. Someone just walked over and introduced themselves? Without even a trace of hesitating, this boy spoke to her. Rubbing the back of her head, she nodded. “Ah…well, I wouldn’t claim that they are overreacting,” she said, laughing a little. “…I suppose I was feeling a bit lonesome. I am called Ryuuko Shiroga—“ She stopped herself, thinking it wouldn’t be a good idea to bring up her full name. After all, it was easily recognized. “...oh, forgive me, I’m being rather formal. Please refer to me as ‘Ryuu’, if that sounds fine to you.” A small smile appeared on Ryuuko's face. Although she didn't have a lot of social interaction with people close in age, Ryuuko knew basic manners. Surely she knew how to talk to another student, right? “Neil is a wonderful name, and I agree that pink is a very appealing color to the eye. It is quite the nurturing color."

Joshua was getting to a good part in the book when all of a sudden, he heard some people talking about him in hushed whispers. Not taking his eyes off the book, he listened quietly. Two sisters or friends from what he heard probably were commenting on the fact that he didn't care that they were staring. Not that he noticed them anyway, he had a problem with being absorbed into a good book as it really focused his attention. Then again he himself found it a bit comical to see such a big mass of a man holding this book. However, knowledge, even fantasy, was valued as an Ebonmire, how you use that knowledge, was up to you. Joshua used it to become strong, like a knight in one of his fantasy books, despite the fact that he was also a skilled doctor. So did that make him a brawny brain? Joshua shook his head as he started to loose his concentration on the book ultimately deciding to stow the book away in the small bag he had slung on his right hip before looking around and taking note of his surroundings. There were the two women who were talking about him as well as a man standing by the observation window and a pink haired man talking to a woman in a-, was that a kimono? His curiosity piqued, Joshua decided to head over to those two by walking around the bench and next to them. Normally, he would have just jumped over the small bench, but opted out of it this time. Reaching the two, Joshua began to speak, "Heya, name's Joshua Ebonmire, how you two doing?"

There were windows everywhere, but Jasmine was in no position to enjoy the view. Still, there was a strange sort of peace to the hum of the engine and the drifting of the airship. She found herself laying back in her seat, halfway between meditation and napping. Every so often the other passengers would catch her attention. She could focus on them and their words without showing outward signs of doing so.

She got up eventually, wandering about the cabin. As she passed, there was a slightly louder - or, rather, more expressive - voice coming from the other side. "What's a 'pink worshipper'?" She asked Neil. There was something odd about the Ryuu girl, too - the briefest crack in her voice that made her seem to be hiding something. Oh well, everyone had their secrets, it wasn't as if it was any of Jasmine's business.

Oh my, where were all these people coming from? Did they know about her or—

…actually, they seemed rather oblivious on who she was. Ryuuko smiled a bit wider, thankful for her sudden luck. “My name is Ryuuko, though if you prefer to be more casual, it is fine with me to be simply called ‘Ryuu’. I am faring rather well, and I do hope you are, as well.” The students of Beacon seemed like kind people, and it was even more fortunate that they had absolutely no idea who she was. What a miracle it was to seem like just another student at this school. Jokingly, she would recommend to her relatives at home to work harder if her last name wasn’t even being noticed anymore, though she would probably be scolded for insulting them. Maybe the joke would have to wait. “I hope we all have a great year at Beacon’s academy. Although this may just be an assumption, it seems like our classmates will get along with us just fine.”

"Ryuu huh? Well its good to meet you then." Her line about beacon and getting along seemed a bit practiced, but Joshua didn't think it was wise to question her about it. Suddenly, Joshua's bag with a Red Cross felt as if the zipper was coming undone so he turned his head. Too his surprise and shock, the book he had placed in it was causing the bag to open its' zipper. Quickly grabbing the book before it would open the contents of his bag, he then zipped back up the bag before holding the book in his left hand. With a small grin on his face, Joshua spoke, "It seems that my book doesn't want to see the dark of my bag by the looks of it. Guess I should be thankful it isn't a book on birds or else it would fly away huh?"

Ignacia watched as the man quietly thumbed the pages of the small book, however he soon looked up and around at his surroundings, shifting onto Agnes so that the man wouldn't see them blatantly staring at him, she averted her eyes, oh that's awkward. Agnes pushed Ignacia off of her, "You are such an idiot." Giving her a glare, in response Ignacia bomped the underside of Agnes's chin replying, "Look, I was just interested in what he was readin' okay?" She propped herself up onto back of the bench, kneeling on the seat. Agnes rubbed her chin, "What was that?" Ignacia looked to her side, "I bomped yeh. It's just fer fun." touching the stripes on her face. She watched as the man walked up to a pink haired boy and a girl in a kimono.

"Ey, how 'bout we sneak up around and join 'em on ther' conversation?", Ignacia pointed with her index finger.

"What? Why would we do that? That just seems wrong. You just seem wrong."

"Zip yer yap, 6 years does that to people. N'fact, you're also very different. You used ta be a rascal, now yer borin'."

Agnes rolled her eyes as Ignacia hopped over the bench, sneaking around closer to the group of students, hiding behind another bench next to them. Agnes sighed and joined her on her little adventure.

Mocha put her book away. What're they up to? Using her semblance to cloak herself, walking up to the two of them and observing the group, that they were hiding from, converse.

ZION WATERS

Zion growled as he was woken from his deep sleep. Standing before him, a group was gathering, ignoring him. He couldn't blame them though, this ride was taking a very long time. Annoyed, Zion stood up and grabbed his things with him to find a new place to rest. As he stood up his eyes squinted, almost positive he saw something moving in the air. The aspiring Huntsman shrugged and made his way to the north observation deck where everyone had seem to magically come from. The deck was nearly empty but a dark-haired male caught his attention. Heseemed to be relatively quiet and was taking the view in. He had been awake too long to go back to sleep so he decided to join him. Zion slowly walked to the ledge and rested his forearms on the railing and looked downwards. "What do you think?" he asked without looking at him directly. He never found anything particular really special about Vale, but then again he grew up near the place. To him, it was any other city-- it has its ups and downs.

Her hands fidgeted in the pockets of her kimono cardigan. Slightly uncomfortable but not outwardly showing it, she continued with the conversation. But how would she go about that? Humor usually worked, and, although she spoke quietly, she decided to give her best try. “It’s fortunate that you are carrying a book instead of a letter, for if it flew away, it would be…” Ryuuko kept her proper expression on her face and was doing a great job of not bursting into a fit of laughter. “…it would be airmail, wouldn’t it?”

It was probably a bizarre sight to see someone who looked so formal make such a lame joke, though Ryuuko didn’t seem to realize it. “What book are you reading? I have been running out of interesting stories, so it would be wonderful to hear of yet another high-quality book." She was enjoying her conversation with the others, though she couldn't help but notice how...scripted she sounded. But it was working, so it couldn't have been an issue, right? After all, that was the way her family talked, and it worked for them, so it was probably fine to talk like that as well.

Joshua chuckled and grinned at Ryuu's pun, it was nice to see someone who had a sense of humor. "My book?" Joshua questioned. "It's called The Pieces of the Puzzle. Fantasy adventure type stuff and it's the 2nd book in the series. Imagine my surprise when my parents, possessing the appearance of busy, expecting a lot out of you kind of parents, didn't stop me from reading the book." Joshua shrugged a bit, "I guess they're already kind of happy that I'm following in their footsteps, but I didn't expect them to be ok with it? Funny how the world works right?"

Koamaru glanced to his side as a student took a place next to him and started up a conversation. The students choice of dress was definately a contrast to his own. Even though he had somewhat undressed his business casual style, the robes of the other student were definately worlds away in terms of appearance.

Furthermore the student refused to make eye contact. It was possible that they were nervous, or even captivated by the view. However, his better instincts said that the student was somewhat irritated, or at least recently so. The giveaway was on he had heard in many a lonely watering hole.

'What do you think?'

The words of a man trying to hold himself composed to a complete stranger in an attempt to bury his own emotions and thoughts. Still, it was polite enough, and deserved an answer. If the man wanted a conversation to clear his head, Koamaru wouldn't deny it. "I think the slow ride is intentional so that we have something to write home about."

Koamaru shifted his eyes down to the scenery below. Writing home wasn't something he had enjoyed doing lately. Usually it was just crafting lies on paper so his parents wouldn't worry or find out that he hadn't been in school like he promised. Maybe now he could come clean, now that he really was going to school. That would be a long letter to consider later.

Peeking over the back rest of the bench, Ignacia was listening in on their conversation. Soon gesturing a bunch of random hand signs to Agnes and Mocha. Agnes's expression changed from dull annoyance to confusion. Whispering once again she shrugged, "What're you trying to say? I don't understand that at all." Ignacia put her palm to her face, ducking down to whisper, "Come'on I'm runnin' a covert operation here." She sighed. Mocha took a new making sure stay out of sight when she turned off her semblance. Mocha whispered, "Ahem. Ignacia I don't think we can understand if we don't know what your hands signals mean.

"Ugh, we have to be completely silent 'ere. If ye got any suggestion I'm all ears, yeh?"

"Mmm, I suppose we could try using our environment to our advantage. I recommend us to perform an overly complex mission where we hang off the ledge of the airship and listen in from the window over there."

"What? Why are you taking this so seriously Mocha?" Agnes questioned, slightly disappointed by her squad mate.

"Yes perfect!" Ignacia exclaimed accidentally, covering her mouth immediately. Then whispering, "Uhh... Yes perfect. That's the ticket to victory. Agnes ya ready to launch operation 'Spy On The Strangers For No Reason At All'? Or S.O.T.S.F.N.R.A.A.?"

Agnes face palmed, "Look this is very immature of us all. I know the two of us used to do sneaky stuff like this all the time, but this is just stupid."

"Come on. This is..."

The three of them conversed behind the bench, unawares of how much noise they were making. And to add to the silliness, both Ignacia's and Agnes's tails were dangling up over the bench in plain view. Easily attracting the attention of multiple students around them.

“…ah, pardon, it seems there’s others I have unintentionally ignored,” Ryuuko said with a small laugh, glancing at the direction where she heard a bunch of ruckus. “Now, if it’s not too confidential, do you feel like sharing what exactly this mission of yours is? I would like to help you out, if you would accept my aid.” An amused expression appeared on her face, though she was unsure of why they were so interested in this conversation, for it seemed like a regular one. “…I believe I may have blown your covers, however. That is considerably unfortunate.”

The hair on Ignacia's tail stood up on ends, while a small spark shot up through Agnes's. Mocha slowly stood up and waved at the group with an awkward smile on her face. Ignacia tugged on Agnes's collar, "We've be'n compromised!" she yelled, shaking her forwards and backwards. Agnes, shouted while being jostled around, "I told you it was a stupid idea you dumb leprechaun!

"Whaaa?! Dumb leprechaun. I'll show ye a dumb leprechaun ya robo pirate!", she threw around Agnes even harder.

Mocha continued standing there, not knowing what to do with the situation from there on. Oh goodness, this is tricky...

Joshua sighed and scratched his head as the two from earlier were causing a bit of a ruckus. Sensing the need to do something,Joshua walked over to the two of them as they began to fight. In an attempt to defuse the situation, Joshua spoke. "Soo how long are the two of you going to fight over something trivial before you introduce yourselves?"

Hizo was still in the airship, holding his mouth to stop himself from puking. 'Ugh... I keep forgetting that I have air sickness. Bleh.', Hizo thought to himself as he took a deep breath through his mouth, and sighed while looking up at the school from the window. Hizo smirked at the school, while thinking, 'Bigger than I expected, huh.' Hizo shrugged as he began to walk around the airship with his sword by his side, and he noticed a girl say that she was comprised. 'Comprised? What are you? Secret agents?', Hizo thought as he looked, and saw a group of teens talking and he suddenly cringed. 'Eww. Socializing. I'm going to get out of here, before they pull me into a conversation.', Hizo thought as he began to do a fast walk towards an empty part of the airship, and he kept looking back them just to check on them.

Varien, ever preferring to stay silent and out of the way, was in an emptier portion of the airship. Many of the faces he saw before him had either came with friends, or were well on their way to making them. However, he would not include himself among that percentage of people. The glossy surface of the glass on his helmet reflecting the words of the leather-bound book in his hands. It was a simple tale about a blade that was lost long ago, forbidden lovers, conspiracies, and adventure. The cover of the book gave no hint to the title however, as the plain leather surface was unmarked. He glanced up every now-and-then, waiting for this damned slow machine to arrive at their destination.

Ignacia halted her shaking of Agnes looking up at Joshua, "Ehm... ya see-

"You see, this dumb leprechaun is inept at explanations, so I'll do it."

Ignacia let go of Agnes, allowing her to stand up. "I'm Agnes, Grace. Call me Agnes, pronounced 'Ag-n-yas'. Mocha and I are students sent from Atlas and the Atlesian military." she waved her hand over to Mocha. Agnes then pointed at Ignacia.

"This is my childhood partner and rival, Ignacia Hayes. She's a 'whimsical maverick that doesn't get told what to by anybody'..."

Ignacia hopped up over the bench casually reclining on it. "Tch, I can't deny that one."

"Who's also a dumb leprechaun." Agnes added to annoy her.

"Who's a dumb leprechaun?" She sat up, bomping Agnes on the chin.

"Stop doing that."

Smirking, Ignacia bomped her again, "Nah."

"mmhmmm, I guessed that." she sighed rolling her eyes.

Mocha continued for her. "Anyways. Nice to meet you. All of us greet you with the best of wishes for the future."

Cuprum was leanig against a wall, scanning the students around him.

"So this is the lot I'm gonna spend my time with."

He told himself. He looked out the window, observing the view. He looked at the buildings for few seconds turned back. Seeing things from this up high was a bit odd for him, as it was the first time. He then stood in the middle of the students. Okay, let's play Count the Students. There is...... ah, a lot. He thought as he mindlessly looked around. Scratching his head, Cuprum walked back to the window to see if they were getting close to Beacon.

@anybody?

Lyrika had been to Vale city many times in the past, but this was the first time she would be travelling there to become a huntress. This was literally her dreams coming true; going to Beacon, learning to fight, being a hero like in the stories. It was enough to make her want to compose a poem...but on top of being all too nervous, she didn't much like practising poetry in front of a crowd of strangers. She had been encouraged to do that when she was younger by her father, and it had never worked out well. Either most people didn't even care, or they were nasty, like that one man who threw a clump of mud at her. Her father had that man arrested for it, but the mark of that mud had left a bruise on her confidence. She never again preformed publicly. Of course, now that her poetry could be used to send a grown man flying across the room, she needn't fear such things, but she still felt awkward telling people about her hobby.

Aside from a small circle of friends gathered from her father's social circles, Lyrika hadn't had the chance to make many friends. She was hoping that today would be the day she could start meeting new people, but when confronted with the sheer enormity of all the students around her, she just intimidated by it all. There were more people on this airship than she tended to meet in a year. A part of her wanted to leap off the ship and run back home, but she had come too far to back away now. This was her dream she was about to pursue, and she wasn't about to throw it away over a few nerves. Feeling a slight bit of courage build up in her, she decided she was going to try and make a friend today, even if it ended poorly.

Choosing not to force herself into the midst of an already conversing group of people, she chose to seek out someone standing away from the rest. As she scanned the faces, she felt butterflies churning in her stomach once again. Shaking off the feeling, she decided to choose a person at complete random and make the best of it. The next person her eyes landed on was a man wearing a copper shirt. Lyrika took the plunge and approached him.

"Hi there! I'm Lyrika Kastano, pleased to make your acquaintance. Might I ask your name?" She hoped her nerves weren't too apparent over the brave face she was putting on.
