How long ago was the RWBY canon, though? I made mention of the AK-130 and -200 units in Ascalon's background, which may or may not have been decommissioned as effective defences if it has progressed by more than even half a decade. Then again, it doesn't seem as if the staff has aged much either. If anything, Ascalon might have been developed a while ago, though that would possibly cause a change in her official age.

Age shouldn't be a factor if the robots were reliable. Remember, the m16 has been in service for decades now.

It would still render some data unsuitable. Unless the AK-130s were remade to be more aggressive and possessing heightened AI Brilliance, it wouldn't do much to show that Ascalon is capable of anything except kicking the asses of ancient bots. That's like using a Katyusha to fire on siege towers. It works, but does it WORK?
