RWBY: Dust to Dust [Private]

I like how the featuring always shows one joke.

Brick as Himself

ZER0 as A Number

Claptrap as A Mistake

Wow, I'm not even that behind. I'm mostly back and sort of settled and tired as hell. Still a lot more little work to do, but I'm around.

Just a passing thought, aren't the details of the initiation test supposed to be Sooper Sekrit?

Now that you mention it....

You can catch a word or two about the initiation if you're in the right place, but nothing substantial. At most, the only information should be that there is a test that exists.

[QUOTE="Father Gigantor]Getting catapulted off a cliff seems like a substantial piece of info alright.

Eh, don't listen to Salem, she's just being a goof because she can fly and others can't xD

I think what Giantdad's saying is that she shouldn't have the knowledge of the catapults.

I actually figured that if you did your research you'd know what was up.

Like, in the show, those platforms are attached to the cliff, so it would seem they get used often. Which means people, if they listened to the right people, would probably hear about them. Which is why everyone in RWBY was like, "Oh look, the catapults, lets go get ready to be flung off the cliff" and why Jean(who generally seemed lost all of first season[forged papers, can't imagine why he'd be lost]) had no freaking clue about them.

And that was just my assumption when first watching the show. Which is why I figured that while not everyone may know about them, some people would, meaning that Salem would have a set up for some fun poking.

Hm. I suppose the catapults would be possibly averagely-known facts, and probably made it out as proper information by hearsay. The one thing that the students wouldn't always know would be the task required to be done in the forest, methinks.

To be fair, they look like regular stone tiles rather than something that would launch them.

They don't look particularly dangerous do they.

I may just overthink most things, but for me it's like if you sign up for the military. If you do so, then you should expect to fight and shoot a rifle while you're there.

That said, training to be a hunter/huntress, I personally would expect that, if there was a trial/ initiation task, there would probably be at least one fight involved, possibly even student against student, to judge their skill.

That and I never had Salem mention any task in the forest anyway, just the catapults and her expecting a fight.

@Father Gigantor - See the two posts above yours =P

I did, and you mentioned platforms, but in the pic they clearly don't look like anything more than decorative stone tiles rather than "platforms" like you mentioned. I do concede the point about hearsay though, provided we assume the test is the same every year, which is a can of worms I shall leave unopened.

Going by this logic, Salem would be expecting some kind of fight in the forest wouldn't she? I think the task in the forest would most certainly be the obvious point, with the catapulting being the twist.

Of a sorts. I figure it this way. The catapults would be hearsay. Probably because the adrenaline-junkie students would probably be all over bragging about it. xD

The idea that there is going to be fighting at some point is to be expected, as that is what they are training to do.

And then there is a trial to show how skilled they are already and test them. And since its included in the whole training to be a hunter/huntress it would probably be expected.

Buuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuut, that's just the way my head works, and in some extension how Salem's head works.

And I think rather forwardly.

So all in all that's a rather lengthy 'Aye, pretty much.'

Besides, Salem's not the only character that seemed to prep for a scuffle.

That said, I'm not sure if Ascalon is installed with information regarding the catapults and the geography and populace of the forest, along with the past examinations. Should she have the information?
