: Rai ( EldridSmith EldridSmith ), Chrysos ( IDKnuggets IDKnuggets ) / Mentions: Atomic / Status: Freaking out over Atomic's disappearance
saph.jpg The unnamed Faunus boy approached Sapphiria in hopes of soothing her. "Y-yes, that's my sister. She doesn't usually leave out of the blue." The blonde continued to ease her by reassuring Atomic would be alright based on their strength, yet she had to disagree for being apart has never been part of their life except on occasions. Whatever the case may be, there was at least something else she could arguably agree with Chyrsos is the fact that Atomic is headed to Beacon somehow. "Y-you're right." She sighed starting to feel better to the point the adrenaline of fear slowly disappeared. Rai even proceeded to put in his two cents to comfort her about catching up and tracking her down. Sapphiria held her hands together out of a nervous habit, a soothing mechanism. At least she could look on the bright side, she isn't entirely alone. She wouldn't know what would have happened without some sort of guidance.

As Rai pointed in the direction Atomic fled. Sapphiria couldn't help but feel anxious to see Atomic, and being with two total strangers, regardless of their help, didn't make her feel any better. The tinniest nagging feeling in the back of her head lingered, but there was nothing to do but press on. Her blue eyes looked around for any sign of footprints. Being a hunter meant being able to track. Both Atomic and herself learned at a young age to track and forage exceptionally well, but under such circumstances, The blonde was blinded by worry. She prayed the brunette will be close by and that her leaving was due to an emergency.

“Don’t trust on that. Grimm don’ get scaired. I think.” Tanner said, content to look around as they walked. “I mean do they? Never heard o’ them doing that. Runnin’ way I mean.”

“... I’mma call you Welly.” Tanner decided after the flirt. Just to see what the response would be to some light ribbing. To really get a feel for the lad. Depending on the response he’d address Weldon by his proper name, or Tanner would have a new nickname. The fight just didn’t last long enough for everyone to show their stuff.

As for the other lad, Asher as he introduced himself, well the lad did have a good taste in weapons. As well as body paint. Or was that a T-shirt? Tanner couldn't tell.

Tanner laughed at the remark of almost dying.

“Aye, lovely way to get the blood flowin’. Well met Ahser.” he said, cheerfully pronouncing the name slightly wrong. Nula, the shy one, took the lead, already two steps ahead. Tanner was about to follow before he froze, and snapped his fingers.

“Hang on before we start to hoof it.” he stated, and grabbed Lucoco’s fish. The ground rippled and the fish vanished into the dirt.

“That would be my semblance, ‘fore ye ask. It’s going to preserve the fish right n perfect.” he explained.

“So then! First we catch up with the others?” Tanner suggested. Hopefully they had at least one among them who remembered the map properly.

Tanner sure as hell didn’t. Oh sure, he had a direction and he could navigate by the sun and stars easily enough, but he only remembered the multiple dead ends on the map and not the exact route. Just going in a straight line didn't strike him as smart. He didn’t want to find out what weird hazards overland travel could surprise him with. His brother once told him of the ‘dread bootmunchers’. Tanner did not want to find out the hard way if it was just a fancy tale or an actual real danger with sharp pointy teeth, a grumpy attitude and a hunger for feet.

Lucoco

"Maybe they got scared looking at our indomitable will!" Lucoco suggested lightheartedly, she obviously didn't think much about the reason but at least she wanted for the others students to not worry about it too much. Just like Grandma Garami said, a laughter a day keep the grimms away.

"Nice to meet you Tanner! Nice to meet you Asher! Nice to meet you Nula! Nice to meet you Walden! I might take your offer later!" Lucoco greeted everyone back and returned Walden's wink with her own. She then took a stride towards the edge of the forest and leaned forward, her rabbit ears seemed to be twitching while she carefully listen to surrrounding noises.

"Sounds clear. Let's go, I will lead the way!"

    Chrysos Kane

“Oh, she's your sister?” Chrysos instantly felt like he had a better understanding of the fellow blonde. “My sister's a little butt-head, but I wouldn’t want her out here by herself either. We’ll do whatever we can to help you find yours!”

After thinking for a moment, his wolf ears stood at attention. “Wait a minute, purple head is gone too! Maybe Atomic isn’t all by herself out there?”

“Either way, I wouldn’t worry about finding her too much" the younger boy gave Sapphiria a wide grin, eyes shining bright as he placed a hand on either hip triumphantly. “I’m a super great tracker, being a faunus has it's perks!”

Focusing his ears and beginning to sniff at the air, Chrysos spun around in place twice fully before finally pointing in the wrong direction. As great as his senses were, an excellent tracker he was not. “I think she's this way!”

“I think she went this direction, so it's best we try and catch up"

    “I mean, that way!”

05d1a1b8cf1af8c840f879630eee1aff.jpg Atomic rolled their eyes at Indigo's flirtatious advances. Any woman would probably be dying for his attention except for Atomic. She had better this to do than play the fool's game. The brunette huffed and turned away after he admitted to following her. Whatever he wanted she wasn't planning on giving it to him. When he mentioned leaving Sapphiria she grunted, "what about her? She needs to learn we can't always be together especially at school. She needs to make her own friends. I'm not her babysitter." It was true, Atomic had felt exhausted with constantly being with her sister when sometimes she wanted to break free. Part of it had to do with her and what happened. Sapphiria's clinginess is justifyable, and the Faunus cannot help but feel smothered sometimes. "Besides, she'll be fine so don't worry about it and stick your nose where it doesn't belong." Although she spoke sternly, it was evident the girl felt pained about leaving her behind even when she chose to for the betterment of their relationship. Atomic proceeded to wander forward while while lost in thought.

Ichor had always found some reason or other to avoid long distance running back at Shelter, which, naturally, would have to be rectified once this hell of an intimation was over with.

Following after Rai and their relatively small group seemed like the logical decision, she had no one else at the moment beyond Lucoco and she had no clue where she was at the moment, realistically, they couldn't have been more than maybe... Seventeen miles off of Beacon?

So if they kept up this pace, without stopping they could potentially reach the Academy in about two or so hours, give or take any detours, deaths, or injuries.

(Shelter, for all it's rigid uniformity, had half a dozen professional grade math and survival courses available, and Ichor had taken any excuse to get extra course work that kept her bogged down in the library.

Unfortunately Professor Sharde had all but physically forced her to learn every mathematical system known to Man, Faunus, and Grimm kind once her Semblance decided to make itself known by nearly throwing Noire Schnee through one of the training robots.

Which, fine, explosions were bad news and Burst, on a normal level, was enough to knock her off her feet, and she needed to know what not to do and plan for when her potential teammates needed to use Dust in her vicinity.

...something deep in heart still wanted to pass on that misery, though.)

And she had to keep up with her ammo, as well, make sure she wasn't about to run short, and, from the feeling of the full ammo box on her left thigh, and the still quarter filled gauge of Selene, she was good. For the most part, anyway.

So, she swallowed past the lump in her throat, sheered her weapons, and continued to move forward.

Time passed quickly and although it seemed like an easy exam with plenty of time to arrive, the reality said otherwise. The time of arrival to the forest was sometime at 12:00pm and fighting Grimm lasting at least an hour. Traveling to point A to get to B took 30 minutes, if you know where you're going. The amount of low ranking Grimm popping out every now and then to throw the students off their trail maybe even split at some point. Regardless, it's dusk and the sun was setting casting a pink sky just before the night makes an appearance. 7:00pm and students must somehow arrive to Beacon, though there is no time limit, they still required to show up at some point. Whatever students have plan, they must execute soon. Luckily, after climbing the cliff meant they were near the finish line than anticipated. All that was needed was to find Forever Fall.

    Chrysos Kane

The group of Beacon applicants had been traveling for hours, long enough that the sun was beginning to set. The forest would be more difficult for the others to navigate at night, fortunately for Chrysos he had an advantage over his human companions in that regard.

“The sky sure is pretty at sunset" the blonde observed aloud, staring upwards with his arms rested behind his head. They had faced a fair number of Grimm attacks, but for now things had settled down and they could enjoy the scenery.

He had always loved the forest, back home he spent a lot of his time training in the woods nearby his village. They never had anything too serious, a couple Beowolves, maybe the odd Ursa. Overall it was safer than a lot of other places thanks to his father's regular thinning of the herd. The last thing they wanted was for too many Grimm to congregate so close to home.

Chrysos stopped walking for a moment, looking back over his shoulder. He could have sworn he heard something back there, somewhere amongst the trees. It had been faint, but unmistakably there. Was there another Grimm, or maybe an applicant like them passing nearby?

His eyes scanned the trees, searching for whatever had made the sound but finding nothing. Whatever it had been was nowhere in sight.

When he faced forward again the others were gone. Of course none of them had heard it, even with his naturally boosted hearing he had hardly caught it himself. They must have kept walking without realizing he had stopped. It was a shame to be left alone…

But he was sort of curious what that sound had been.

Lucoco

How many dead ends did they found, exactly? Lucoco didn't bother to count. Their progress was slow, but they surely must be getting closer to their destination... Right?? Lucoco tried to utilize her hearing to avoid enemies as much as possible but even with that they still frequently had no choice but to spray bullets to the grimms blocking their way.

Problem arise when the number of grimms tailing them start piling up. They must be accidentally passed an area really packed with grimms. At first it was only a bunch of easy grimms like beowolfs but soon some uncommon species also start chasing them. Like that giant black and white snake with two heads and no tail, the giant centipede ones, and a bunch of griffins. Before long the five students were less concerned about defeating them and more focused on just running.

Lucoco was separated from the others as she chaoticly run from a bunch of ursa hell bent on chasing her. One of the ursa leapt forward impatiently, its paws almost grabbed her. Almost. Instead Lucoco used the opportunity to jab one of her arrow into the grimm's hand. The arrow brieflly glowed orange before it exploded loudly, destroying the ursa and stumbled the rest of them backward.

"Suckers!" The faunus didn't intend to wait for them and used the opportunity to run, but unfortunately the ursa weren't the only thing that had their sight on her. A few centipede grimms scuttered towards her direction at incredible speed and Lucoco couldn't help but wince at the sight of their many legs.

"Oopsie." Lucoco didn't waste more time and ran at random direction. She vaulted over rotten logs, jumped over thorny bushes and keep zigzagging through the woods. At the distance, she could see two seemingly familiar figures. A boy and a girl... Ah, they're the ones she met in the airship! Atomic and Indigo. Lucoco shifted her direction towards them.

"Hey! Good evening! Anyone likes centipede??" She waved at them enthusiastly while the centipede grimms chasing her were growling furiously.

Somewhere in the afternoon.

Peace and quiet reigned over the forest. In the shadow of a tree Tanner awaited with baited breath. No crickets chirped, no birdsongs flew through the still air. The gurgle of a nearby stream and the gentle swaying breeze through the tree tops could be heard, and that was it.

No eager snaps of slavering jaws nor the howls of hungry wulves followed him. Finally. He waited five more minutes, as slowly life returned. A bird carefully sang out to it’s mates. Another answered. Tanner slid out and started to finally get a move on.

Despite their best efforts, Grimm took them by surprise. In those fast, running engagements Tanner quickly lost sight of his fellow rookies. Sure, he tried to stick with them, but between the ravenous hordes and the wild and unfamiliar terrain Tanner often found himself lost and disoriented. Sure, he could find the academy readily enough. Even through the leaves the sun shone visibly and he had a watch. He could have been concussed and still plot a course accurately. That still left him with absolutely no one to watch his back or warn him of the hazards of overland travel. Tanner decided to take it slow from there on out.

Hours passed.

He tried to jump, using Skoane’s recoil to propel himself through the air for added hangtime. A few unfortunate close encounters with bird nests and the thicker branches made him change his mind on that.

He tried to jump so high he could use his parasail. That just netted him an encounter with a bunch of Nevermores. He had the ammunition for it, but that figuratively and literally blew him off course by several kilometers.

He tried to go from tree to tree but more often than not he ran out of branches to stand on and into more terrified birds on their nests. Their panicked calls drew in yet another horde of Grimm.

Eventually he settled on what appeared to be a path, but that just ended at one point so he just kept plowing on through the dense forest and low grasping, thorny bushes. Slow going was still going after all.

More hours passed.

As it turned out, on land slow meant very slow indeed. He guesstimated he still had a good few hours still ahead of him if his current rate was anything to go by. How the hell did people do this before air travel?!

At long last he heard more blasts. Well, a singular one, close by. Blessedly close by, for once. He jumped up, and latched on to a nearby branch with a thrown wire. The idea was to swing from tree to tree, kind of like how he used to clamber from airship to airship when his parents sailed in convoys. The problem was the branch was too thin and still very much alive and so promptly bent. Unprepared for this Tanner smacked face first into the ground.

Tanner just took a moment to admire the dirt. Again something weird about the world below screwed him over. Why did he want this again?

He remembered blue eyes filled with mirth.

Oh yeah. People to protect. Dreams to uphold.

He pulled back and punched the ground hard enough to put him back on his feet. Back into the fray. So swinging it was out, but what about just climbing up? He clambered up into the nearest large ish tree he could get to and looked around. Smoke curled upwards, just off to his east! He could spot a gaggle of other hopefuls in a clearing. People! Friends! Some faces other than his own for Grimm to chew on!

No one in this forest, bar a few exceptions, was allowed to chew on Tanner’s face thank you very much.

Speaking of other people, it appeared to be that… Lucoco? Hey it was Lucoco! Excellent, at least someone he knew. As well as two others he didn’t know yet and quite a number of Grimm. Fortunately he knew an excellent way to make a good first impression.

See, when one got down to business, a heavy machine gun made for a decent enough marksman rifle. All Tanner had to do was control the trigger carefully. He flicked the leaf sight open and guesstimated the range. Five… thirty? Five hundred and thirty, near as makes no difference. His iron sights went out to about two thousand meters and he’d actually tried it once. Single, carefully aimed shots at this range he could manage while drunk. Tanner settled his sight on the leading edge of the pack.

Skoane roared once.

His entire perch swayed back, half the leaves in front of him vanished in the blaze of muzzle flash, and he had to raise the barrel upward to the sky just to absorb the force of the recoil.

“Hai there! How’s about yee?” he yelled out as he lined up another shot on a cheeky Grimm what thought they could sneak around the flanks.

“Fight first, dinner after?” he offered. Another thunderous blast split the sky with enough force to crack a house wide open.

“Still got yer fish!” he added, specifically aimed at Lucoco.

Weldon stumbled through the bushes muttering curses under his breath. Of course, he had to lose track of not only the group he had been traveling with but any living beings besides the Grimm. Since he was alone his mind went back, as it often did, to a fateful winter night some ten years ago. He could still smell the gunsmoke and the blood, he could still hear the sounds of police sirens and the gathered spectators gossiping, and he could feel both their eyes on him and the feeling of cold dead hands holding his own.

After what was probably an hour or so of traveling alone he heard movement ahead. He would normally brush this off as more Grimm waiting to attack but the voices he was now hearing suggested otherwise. Oh thank the gods, he thought, a few more minutes in my own head and I'd probably have done something drastic.

The blue-haired young man put on his most winning smile and staggered out of the bushes with a, "Finally, actual people and not Grimm! Name's Weldon by the way."

Rai and the others continued their steady advance towards the academy while quickly dispatching any Grimm standing in their path. However somewhere along the way, Rai noticed Chrysos wander off to investigate something, and he expected him to try and sprint to catch up once they noticed they kept going as he was the only one to notice whatever it was. However he found that Chrysos never returned, much to Rai's displeasure, he expected better of them due to what seemed to be a natural aptitude for noticing things. Regardless, it was one less member of the team to worry about and one person he was sure he didn't want on his team again due to what seemed to be an easily distractable nature.

However not too long after they met another person, seeing it was time to start hurrying along due to it being a race to see who got to beacon first he decided now was the time to speed up. "Nice to meet you Weldon, I'm Rai, this is Ichor and Sapphira." He stated with a smile as he designated the two. "Would you like to join our team? One of our members got lost on the way and we're hoping to have a team ready by the time we're at beacon. I can also give you all a bit of a ride to speed things up, I assure you speed is one of my specialties." He offered with a smile as one of his thunder spirits appeared ready to serve as a ride for the group. It would be a squeeze to get them all on though... "If you don't want to squeeze to fit on I can carry one of you on my back."

  • Atomic Blackwell
Atomic.jpg At some point while wandering to into dead-end, Atomic realized she entered the wrong route costing her time, but gave her an idea of where she is. Searching for a better route ended her up at a cliffside which she ended up climbing while Indigo tried their best to climb. His struggle forced the brunette to wait and assist before pressing onward. Unfortunately, the sun began to set making it difficult to see for humans. Thankfully, with Atomic being a Faunus, she is capable of seeing in the dark which meant more saving. As the pair stroll through the forest, Indigo began to open their mouth about a romantic walk alone. Atomic's eye twitched in response attempting to tune him out. He then proceeded to compliment her. Something about being sunning as she blends with the scenery? The brunette nearly rolled her eyes and give the guy a comeback had it not been for the ground rumbling.

EJgrB5mXYAAmf_y.jpgThe Faunus halts in her tracks, perking her ears up in search of the noise behind it. Somewhere close by is the sound of an explosion and the wailing of Grimm. With it, the voice of a familiar girl. "Something is approaching." She growled toward the direction of the rumbling. "I suggest you prepare yourself for a hefty fight." Atomic prepares her stance while activating her gauntlets to electric. However, what appeared was unexpected. Rushing out from the trees is none other than Lucoco being chased by Centepeedes. She had never seen bug-like Grimm in her life. She was ok with showing smaller bugs who is boss by frantically panicking, but this was another level. She froze and paled in comparison to the Grimm's shell before reacting with a screech of disgust and running away with Lucoco. "Get it away, get it away, get it away!!!" She chanted as she ran in circles.

As if things weren't chaotic enough, someone else rocketed their way to Lucoco's rescue with their heavy weapon. It was as if he launched a missile to one of many centipedes into oblivion. Upon the impact, the ground practically shook causing Atomic to stagger and trip. She groaned knowing well she had scraped herself. She groaned as she sat up unaware of a Centepeede Grimm coming up from behind with a battle cry.

Kelly Oaken

Despite the dangers that it held within, the forest was beautiful as the sun set. The students were bathed in an almost amber glow, masking fatigue and tiredness and worry with a more general sense of focus. And with half of the journey still left to take, focus was definitely something they required.

Kelly stood up from her crouched position, shaking some of her semblance leaves off of her boots, the faint pulse stopping. With all the trees, Grimm and students showing off their bravado, it was tough to get a bead on what the right direction was, but she was ready to make a pretty good decision. The Forever Fall awaited.

“The sky sure is pretty at sunset"

The girl turned, not realising that someone else was close by. Truth be told she was trying to travel alone a little from the larger groups, she didn't want unnecessary attention from anyone, human, faunus or otherwise. But at the same time, they had to form a team. And to form a team, you should probably know people. This guy seemed like a good place to start. And it looked like his companions were moving away without him. A little harsh, but it wasn't time to look a gift hoarse in the mouth.

Kelly made her way over to the boy. A faunus, judging by the ears. Wild blonde hair and two mean looking swords. Her own weapon was strapped to her back for now. She gestured to the boy.
"Nightvision right?" she asked, trying to remember what little she knew about the race. "Mind if I join you? Won't be able to see 10 feet in front'a me in an hour," She asked.

    Chrysos Kane

The source of the noise seemed to reveal itself as another applicant approached from the forest, a young woman with short green hair. His eyes caught on the weapon strapped to her back, what he could see of it at least. He wondered what it was, he would have to ask to take a look at it later.

“Yep, night vision is right” he confirmed with a joyful nod. “My name’s Chrysos” the faunus introduced himself, offering his hand to shake. “of course I don’t mind, the more the merrier”

Glancing behind him, he remember once again that he had been separated from his new friends. He hoped they would be alright, they all seemed plenty strong. The sooner he got to the Academy, the sooner he could find them again.

Sapphiria seemed sweet, Chrysos hoped she would find her sister. Maybe they would even end up on the same team, she seemed really worried. From the moment Atomic disappeared the blonde girl had seemed out of it, he was worried for her the most.

The other blonde girl, Ichor, struck Chrysos as one smart cookie. They had met after the fight with the Ursa, and just after Atomic and the purple boy had vanished. He was a big fan of her choice in weaponry, he would have to ask for a closer look next time he saw her.

Finally, there was Rai. Chrysos had been a bit disappointed when he appeared and restrained the Alpha Ursa, but once they had gotten the chance to fight side by side the faunus had warmed up to the older boy.

“Right, I lost track of my friends so I guess it's just the two of us" the blonde tapped his foot thoughtfully. “Teams are made up of four students, hopefully we'll run into two more people on our way to Beacon"

One by one, groups of four made their way into Beacon, welcomed by the headmaster, as promised. Before they entered, he registered their official team name, dubbed one of them leader and of course their co-ed dorm room where every first year starts on the first floor. As he waited patiently without a care, Vos crossed out names keeping track of every teen. There was no way he was planning on letting anyone die.

As time passed, slowly but surely, groups began to show up with only four sets remaining. Vos hummed rather concerned as he chewed on his straw. He tapped the contact icon with a group of security Hunters.
"We're missing sixteen kids out of a group of four and it's getting late. Please scout the area for them and see if they're on their way. Whatever you do, you cannot be seen or intervene unless necessary. Understood?"

default-profile-picture.png "Yes sir, understood!" Two voiced answered of the opposite gender. One was soft while the other was strong. The headmaster signed off keeping a watchful eye on the horizon as he sat on his chair sipping his beverage when out of nowhere, he heard the sounds of an explosion nearby. A smirk crossed his face with great relief. "They're close" He mumbled to himself.

Finding herself separated from the group. Nula was understandably afraid to thread further into the Forest, knowing Grimm could lurk the trees and the blind spots. Time is what forced her to move deeper into the woods, she could only grasp on to her weapons overthinking what could attack her next. Her new objective is to now find Beacon and safety for herself.

It took multiple attempts to find the correct direction towards her new academy. With the power to cut distance and travel time. She was efficient to get around the forest. She could have been in the same locations twice before. Marking triangle shapes into the trunks of trees to serve as landmarks. Finding a place she has yet to see is already difficult enough.

Hours passed, Nula was still on her own. She was running, passing by a hundred trees. Running in a direction she is unfamiliar to her. To run from what? Grimm, of course. She has great fear in her heart and they can sense it. Each encounter with the Grimm has always been run. Fighting them was a high risk, ironic for a soon-to-be future huntress. Growls, roars and plasma rounds are heard from the distance if any student were close to her location. She was almost close to the cliff over the Horizon but in fear of bringing the Grimm with her that is chasing and lurking her behind and she will not look back to them. Creating a portal to ground to cut distance and predictability of the Grimm. She easily lost them in teleportations ago.

Bushes rustled nearby but no growling and out came a red haired girl, wearing a hoodie and pleated skirt. A look of exhaustion on her face from fleeing. Unharmed at the cost of speed declining with every escape. She laid on the soft grass and stared into the warm colored sky. Contemplating whether or not she’s even qualified to be in Beacon, a minute passed and it was getting darker every minute. She has fully rested and stood up to keep going. Only to find something unsual on the ground. Burnt grass, in the behaviour of foot prints. This was a work of a semblance as no Grimm in the forest she observe has the ability to do such footprints. Like a curious child on a treasure hunt. She found the X on the trail.

“Ah-Ashe—!?”

Quickly running to him as soon as she saw him sitting in the grass, assuming he was injured. Only to stop at a good distance as she felt the heat slap her directly in the face. He was excessing a lot of heat compared to earlier. Grass around him wilted and burnt. She could only silence her own mouth with both of her sleeves. She found a face, a familiar face. Noticing a gash on his torso, Nula desperately looked around to find atleast what she can do to help him. She appeared agitated.

“Are you okay!? What can i do to help!?”

She said in her not-so-subtle panicked voice. Nula had four mag pouches and of them opened with one no mag inside, it seems lost as there is still 3 more including the one currently in her pistol. Holstered to her other leg is the short sword with 3 more additional blades. As much as she wants to help Asher up, he was excessing large amounts of heat that could harm her even with Aura.

She didn't expect Atomic to be that scared of the bug grimms and felt a little bit guilty for that. Thankfully Tanner and Indigo came to the rescue and they seemed capable of taking down at least one centipede each. That means she should handle the last centipede. Yup. She wanted to conserve her arrows since she didn't know how long the rest of the journey would be and she's currently underprepared, but she wouldn't be that stingy if its for her friends.

"I'm down for dinner! Grilled fish with soysauce would be nice!" Lucoco yelled back at Tanner as she pulled her hatchet and started spinning it on her right hand while she continue to draw the attention of the only remaining centipede. With a quick motion she spun her body and used the momentum to threw the hatchet with incredible speed, the weapon spun midair before it hits the grimm's head. Splitting its front carapace open and stuck there. Lucoco stopped in front of a tree and gestured at the grimm to came at her, the grimm roared and charged at full speed.

Lucoco didn't budge and the grimm rammed her, or not really because that Lucoco suddenly vanished as if it was no more than a hologram, leaving the grimm to charge headfirst into the tree and embedded the hatchet even deeper, its head was alsmost split into two at this point. A whistle could be heard from its rear and the centipede sluggishly turns around to witness the real Lucoco with an arrow fully drawn on her bow. She released the arrow and the projectile hits the middle of its head where it was the most vulnerable, then another arrow, then another one, then another one. After the fourth shot the grimm collapsed on the ground and dissipated into thin air. Lucoco retrieved her weapons, though one of the arrow was bent too much to be used anymore but at least she could use it as material.

"The ground is clear! Let's set up a camp!" She waved at Tanner in the distance and then glanced at both Indigo and Atomic, giving them a thumb up.

“well speak of the devil ay” Asher said softly as Nula’s concerned voice rang out only moments after he’d been left wondering what happened to her in fact Asher wondered if them running into each other on the airship had somehow managed to tie them both together in some strange cosmic tango. “Yeah I’m ok just got a little unlucky with a beowolf just a bit tired is all” Asher yelled over to Nula he wasn’t lying either despite how the injury looked it wasn’t all too deep and there wasn’t any bleeding either. And aside from the extreme heat he was lroducing Asher felt mostly fine. “I’m just a little out of ammo and overheating is all, best stay back for a moment I guess I’m a little too hot to handle hey” Asher chuckled a little god that joke was cheesy as hell. The boy got up stretching a little bit before flashing a smile over towards Nula before looking Up into the sky suddenly the intensive heat around the huge male seemed like it got sucked into him the air above Asher glowing brightly as a huge heat Ray shot into the air for about three seconds dispersing harmlessly into the air his temp return now to a approachable levels. “Ok that should be better glad to see your ok though Nula must be easy to get around with those portals of your much better then behind a living heater“ he’d say cheerfully walking towards the short bespectacled girl as he looked down at her. “We should probably get moving and find some others then? Thought I saw some people up here before ” Asher suggested remembering having seen some other Faunus. funnily enough it didn’t take Asher long to find the people he‘d spotted as they where just beyond the tree-line here there stood a cat eared Faunus and a green haired girl with a pick-rifle combo that intrigued Asher since he recalled a man a few years ago requesting a similar style of weapon but obviously not the same tool. ”hey there you two names Asher cobalt nice to see some more friendly faces out here, sorry about the heat blast if it startled you didn’t realise how close we where“ Asher chuckled a little as introduced himself for the third time today.

Nula Dopplers

Expressing little to no pain, Asher remained brightly upbeat despite his single injury. Making Nula looking overly protective. Easily taking his words and was instructed to step back which she followed. There was nothing else to say, Asher can take care of himself quite well.

A ray of heat pierced into the sky as she took a step back too. The heat surrounding Asher back drafted to her as she looked up to the sky, reminding her to move hastily. Asher's temperature was regulated. Again slightly overwhelmed by his presence as with such raw power is just resting passively to Asher. She was just glad to find another face especially one she is familiar with. Asher's humor can easily be handled except for her who doesn't know how to react and just continued to stare into his eyes. Not even a weak chuckle.

It was time to get a move on but this time with a companion. Nula walked beside him. Gaze straight into the darkening road. If to observe his tiny partner, she appeared more anxious as the sun sinks in the horizon. The danger of Grimm could be the common answer. Regardless, Nula was very close to Asher almost invading personal space. Minutes later she drew her pistol out despite no presence of Grimm. Coming close to the tall and warm Faunus did cause a slight bump twice each with the followed apologies of saying "Sorry" and "Sorry, a-again... I won't do that again."

Asher did find two new faces which are now enough to make a team if they accept them. Asher again introduced himself with confidence to the other two. Which was a blonde Faunus of similar demeanor as Asher and a more stoic-looking student with a calmer aura. She did not however introduce herself, perhaps forgotten to and gathered enough courage to ask the tall Faunus.

"C-can we go now? I think... T-The... The Academy... Should be close. We are already on the cliff... The cliff and the school... Should be. Be close together."

Her eyes telling him to move now as if Nula is telling him something was following them.

“Teams are made up of four students, hopefully we'll run into two more people on our way to Beacon"

"Hopefully..." Kelly parroted back, albeit a little more quietly. More people meant more unpredictability, but Chrysos seemed more than comfortable with people, eager to meet them even. "Well, if ya'll can handle the short range vision, I can handle the long," She said, not immediately explaining how as the two began to walk, a faint pulse of leaves floating around her feet.

Between Chrysos' nightvision and her own radar, the duo were able to steer each other around obstacles and potential threats as they made their way toward Beacon. In the end, it wasn't so much their sight that warned them but the general feeling of an uncomfortable heat somewhere nearby, something radiating an awful lot of warmth, but little light. "Did you feel a..."

Her statement was interrupted by a the sounds of someone making their way through the trees, and her hand instinctively went to her weapon, the rifle quickly converting into the large pickaxe form she preferred at close range, heaving the weapon in her hands. As she noticed it was just more students, she relaxed her grip exhaling a breath she hadn't realised she was holding.

”Hey there you two names Asher cobalt nice to see some more friendly faces out here, sorry about the heat blast if it startled you didn’t realise how close we were“

The boy was large, larger than probably anyone that she'd met before. His horns suggested a faunus heritage, and judging from the faint heat still radiating, was the source of the warmth from earlier. A semblance maybe. The girl with him was almost the opposite, quiet and mousey by comparison, eager to not be seen. Easy task next to the human mountain.

She gave a quiet nod to Asher and his companion, sheathing Mahogany Locus. "Kelly - this is Chrysos,"

"C-can we go now? I think... T-The... The Academy... Should be close. We are already on the cliff... The cliff and the school... Should be. Be close together."

"Right. Better keep moving then. I'm sick of tripping over branches," She replied, briefly ensuring the rest of the group was going to follow and keep up. "I didn't catch your name glasses," she pointed out as the 4 walked, directing the question at the other girl.

Something about seeing a bug just explode courtesy of a single well aimed shot sent a pleasant shot of pride down his spine. Not today monsters, not today. His gold eyes roamed across the clearing but between the three huntsmen they wouldn’t last long… scratch that, two huntsmen and one cataconic faunus. Was that poison? The other two didn’t act like anyone got seriously hurt.

Tanner smiled and waved back at Lucoco, then sauntered over from his sniper nest.

“Nah date mate, wouldn’t want to make yer missus jealous.” he answered dryly to the spry lad with the rifle. The way he beat the grimm down was just outright stylish, Tanner couldn’t help but give a slight impressed nod at him. Might have had something to do with the scared missus. Speaking of said missus, Tanner turned a critical eye over to the wolf Faunus. No visible injuries outside of a scrape, nothing much to fuss over. Her mind did appear to be all there, and she showed no signs of poison.

“Hey lass, ye aight?” he asked just to be sure. He didn’t lean over and kept his tone level, so she could just wave it off as a greeting if she didn’t feel like first aid. Hopefully it was just a temporary thing.

“Wassyer names? I’m Tanner Mannerheim.” he introduced himself to the two of them. Lucoco he simply greeted with a small warm smile, happy to see the hyperactive faunus in one piece. She might have thought the soy sauce thing made for a good joke, so he was interested in her reaction when he pulled out an actual bottle of the stuff from seemingly nowhere.

“One grilled fish, aye can do that. I’ll have some rice ready to go with it, if ye can get me some water. Think there’s a fresh stream a while thataways. One of ye lot, can ye go with ‘er? Don’t think it smart to go out all alone. Ah, I think there’s some wild gaarlic as well.” he explained as he started to pull out stuff from a ripple in the ground. Cutting board, chef’s knife for filleting, some land mines for perimeter security, the big fish itself, pans, grill rack, all the basics for a good outdoor meal. They could get some firewood out of the woods itself and he had enough stuff along that they could all get a hammock to sleep in after faffing around with rope and spare bits of sail for a bit. Honestly the only big downside to camping out here would be the clean up come the next morning, but that was future Tanner’s problem. Future Tanner could handle it of course, for the man was an absolute ledge.

Atomic Blackwell
05d1a1b8cf1af8c840f879630eee1aff.jpg Atomic gasped at a loss for words when she turned around. Her body refused to move for the Grimm was closing in. There was not enough time to react. In the blink of an eye, Indigo stepped in using his bat to derail the Centipede over them before picking up the paralyzed Atomic and setting her out of the crossfire. As expected, he made a cheeky remark and proceeded to play the knight. While Atomic would rather knock the grin off his face, she opts to let it go for she was too busy being speechless to do anything.

The entire travel, the brunette assumed Indigo was weak until he gracefully stepped up, terminating the target by extracting its legs first before the rest of the body. A truly strategic, torturous process, but it was somehow done so precisely and efficiently. It would be a lie if she said she wasn't impressed. Part of her was concerned for there were many times he was nearly taken by an inch of his hair. This kept her on suspenseful watch.

Next up, was Lucoco who just moments ago was running now fighting with all her might. An unexpected turn of events when she fought back and took down the centipede successfully unfazed by the events. Everyone was so laid back, and she failed to prove her worth yet again. Atomic balls her hands feeling foolish as to be scared away by a Grimm, that took the form of her mortal enemy, a bug. She beat herself up wondering what use she would be if such a thing could happen again? The boy that was hidden popped into the scene and gathered around Indigo and Lucoco, introducing himself. He glanced over to Atomic asking if she was fine to which she easily could have answered, but didn't want to. Regardless of turning away from the crew, Tanner suddenly pulled out a bottle of soy sauce along with a few things that seemed unlikely to carry. Upon a close inspection, Tanner had open some sort of hole that seemed to be some sort of storage. Atomic could not believe the guy for trying to start camp and he came prepared as if he knew. "Seriously? What the heck do you guys think you're doing? We can't camp while we're in the middle of an exam! I sure as hell am not gonna lounge about and-"

A single petal gently falls on the Faunus' face only it carried a different pigment than the usual green. 'A red petal? This close by?' Atomic thought. She scoured the area but had trouble seeing the color of each tree. She ignites her palm using her gauntlets as a light source to determine colors. Slowly she managed to find the tree with red leaves. Her eyes gleamed with wide wonder. "This is it. We're standing in front of Foreverfall. The barrier between the forest and Beacon." She informed. Staring deep into the darkness, she could see a shimmering light and a cemented path. "Hey, guys! I found the school. You can either camp or sleep on a nice bed." She smirked pointing the way.

    Chrysos Kane

Between the two of them, Chrysos and Kelly had been managing to navigate the forest almost better than he and the others had in broad daylight. The green-haired girl hadn’t explained just how she did it, he could only guess it had something to do with her Semblance. He snatched a leaf from the air as it pulsed around the young woman's feet, eying it curiously.

The leaf was blown free of his fingers as a wave of heat swept over them. Kelly began to ask if he had felt it as well, but stopped short at the sound of something drawing near. The pair of students drew their weapons, ready to fight whatever beast might be approaching. Both relaxed, however, when another pair of applicants stepped out from the trees.

Chrysos stared up at Asher in awe as he introduced himself. He was tall and well-built, standing at least seven feet tall. The young blonde was so entranced by the larger boy that he hadn’t even noticed the short girl with him. He gave a small wave as Kelly introduced him on with herself, too tongue tied to speak up.

When the small red-headed girl spoke up, Chrysos finally snapped back into focus. “R-right, we should keep moving” he stuttered slightly as he shot a quick glance at each of the others. He really hoped that none of them had caught how star-struck Asher had left him at first.

“I think I see some red leaves up ahead, Forever Fall shouldn’t be much further”
