"Because if Milkshakes aren't your thing, we can go to a restaurant that you are more fond of!"
• "Well, Hazel.. I don't really know what makes a good leader, so I can't tell you what Ozpin may or may not have seen in you. I um.. you... you're good at controlling Aqua?" In all honesty, Ivory herself agreed with Nyx, but she couldn't say that outloud. It would have been mean, especially after the girl's own comments.
"I think maybe we'll figure out in time what a good leader you might be!" There was unspoken emphasis on the 'might'. Ivory was trying hard to see the strengths of the small girl, but she hadn't really shown enough of her personality for Ivory to make any real judgements on her. Maybe in time?
Not wanting to pursue the topic, Ivory took a sudden interest in her Sudoku puzzle.
"Ivory, as much as I hate to be of a burden to you after all we've been through... but... I believe you should be placing a number five on that space..." Hazel pointed out to Ivory.

  • She blushed as she felt the box slip into her lap, but decided not too look at it. If he had given it to her discreetly, she would open it when she was alone. Even if a part of her wanted to know what he had gotten her, and wondered what the occasion was.

"U-uh Yeah. It's got beef and swiss cheese on it. They're kinda like, a fad back in Mantle. Thought I might try the genuine article. Though they have a bunch of other stuff that looks good, and Reuben's kinda make your breath stink. Not like I have anyone to impress." She decided she wanted to pay a lot of attention to her menu at that moment. "But I'm splurging on that fancy lemonade."

In the back of her mind she registered his comment about the gang fight. Seems things in Vale were nowhere near as peaceful as the brochure she had received all those months back had claimed. But, she had people she could trust.

She slipped the box from her lap into the oversized duffel bag she'd been carrying around. All her dance gear didn't quite fill it up.

"So, uh, we're just waiting on the smiling Jester Sova, yeah?" She said the title with sarcasm, considering she hadn't actually seen the guy give a genuine smile. "I thought he would have come down with you, ya know, as lead man of Team Boy Band?" she asked Saffron.
"I also had to make a detour a few blocks east of here." Saffron continued, more honestly this time.
"Seemed like a gang war had broken out or something. Bunch of guys in clown costumes getting the crap beaten out of them by a bunch of guys dressed in blue." He reached out and grabbed a menu. "Now did I hear someone say something about a Reuben sandwich? I've never had one of those before."
Herb rolled his eyes "So its some kinda fancy shmanzy wankerish food?" he asked "No thanks, i will keep with my meat pies please." he said, "And gang wars?

Fuckin a man." he said, "Thats always Vale at its worst, whether its the White Fang, Liberty League or the creepy fucks with bowler hats, its always terrible." Herb sighed, "You know, thats one thing I hate, the fucking Liberty League and White Fang, two bloody sides of the same bloody coin." he sighed "Horseshoe theory in full effect."

"The smiling jester hmm?" The rather short boy said as he walked in through the doors, a bit behind the ever so charming Safferon. Giving a tip of his hat to the group, moving up along the side of everyone. "I can't exactly say I've been called that before." he said idly, giving a cross of his arms as he took a small glance over at the people around, before wandering up to one of the menu's to take a small glance through.

"So if you do not mind me asking, how did that recital go? Hansi?" Sova asked as he kept his gaze focused onto the layout of the sheet, browsing through the various strings of text for whatever sort of food they serve here.

The air ship lands. Miguel gets off the air ship and walks around vale to see anything interesting but instead sees saff, argen and sova with hansi and lazuli.

"Hmm i wonder what they are doing. hmm lets see"

Miguel puts his hood and walks slowly towards them. Carefully glances at them and carefully hides his scythe to avoid suspicion.

"I hope they didn't see me"

Lazuli

"Well, yeah. It is," Lazuli said. "When you don't see something much, it's going to look weird, right?" She looked him up and down, taking in his outfit. Her eyes lingered on his gloveless hands a bit longer than she had the rest of him, but eventually turned her face toward the back of the cafe as if nothing had happened. Lazuli tried to read the menu board from where she was. She wasn't exactly keen on Hansi's recommendation. A sandwich tht makes your breath stink and lemonade with lavender in it? Lazuli didn't even like the smell of lavender that much, why would she want to drink it? "It looks good on you though," she told Teal. "So you're doing something right in that regard, I guess."

She ended up ordering a strawberry lemonade and some standard sandwich just when a lion faunus came into the cafe, greeting them. Her own eyes were on his tail, wanting oh so much to just pull it like she did with Gharra back home but Saffron wasn't exactly next to her and should she reach out, someone was bound to stop her and ruin the fun. Lazuli was trying to think of some way to get around that when the guy mentioned clowns, causing her to freeze up a bit. Clowns? There were ******* clowns here? Really?!

Her stiff expression soon vanished when Argen answered her in regards to his face, pretty much declaring his mommy issues. Great. A Debby Downer. How many emos can you shove into a school anyway? "Slow your roll, Debby. No need to get pissy about it. It's just a question. It's not the end of the world or something."

"No it's not. I survived and came out much stronger for it. I was simply answering your question ma'am. Now if you want to talk about something REALLY interesting..." The knight's eyes lock onto Lazuli's and he wears a rather sinister grin as he speaks now. "How about we talk about why your whole body just locked up like if you paralyzed at the mention of clowns? Something you want to share Miss Comedian? I'm sure someone of your comedic standing isn't ACTUALLY afraid of clowns right? No.....that can't be right." The knight chuckles and bows his head in Sova's direction as he approaches. Argen had been trained for any years by both a renown knight and assassin. Reading body language and the slight twitches in muscle movement was something he wasn't a stranger to. So when Lazuli froze up like she did, it didnt escape his notice and he wanted a little payback.

  • She gave the smallest grimace as Sova walked in. Something about him was just barely off, in her books, and because she couldn't put her finger on it, she found herself talking to him more out of curiousity than she might have otherwise. "Well, I'm trying to find something that fits, and for some reason my initial impression of you was like a Jester, but like, my initial guess was apparently wrong. I'm thinking of keeping it, or whatever. Just for the sake of irony." She herself got exactly what she wanted. Sparkling lavender lemonade and a Reuben sandwich. "And Don's right, Teal. The casual clothes look nice." Leave it to Lazuli to fix Hansi's inability to function as a social being with a teasing remark. But then again, her relentless teasing might have been what caused the upset with Teal and Argen to begin with.

She thought could see Miguel approaching, obviously trying to hide something. She let him take his time, and then waved him over. "Dark Knight! Migz! over here! We were just about to order!" She indicated the lat chair at the table, and from there, the group seemed to dissolve into disorganized chatter, like any group of eight teens at a table are like to do.

She turned at Sova's question. In all this nonsense of planning a lunch party and gang violence, she had almost forgotten why she'd been so stressed in the first place. "Oh, uh.. it went well. Or, I think it went well. I won't really know until I go back tonight and hear from the judges. If I didn't do well, they'll just toss me in lower level classes and I'll have to work my way up from there, so I guess it's not really a big deal." Sure, Hansi was one of the top competitive dancers in Mantle and not succeeding in Vale might be a smar on the Mantle Dance Community as a whole, who cared.

"Uh... who's Debby? Is Argen Debby?" Hansi asked Lazuli, more double checking than anything else. She hoped the girl wasn't being mean to Argen. Playful banter in-team was one thing, but she didn't need the girl harassing her other friends for things they couldn't help, skilled Huntsmen or no.

"Argen, whoa. Calm down. We- we all have things we're afraid of, right? And clowns are creepy!" Lazuli hadn't exactly hidden her reaction, but wasn't it basic courtesy not to point such things out?

This lunch was spiraling out of control before it even started. She made a mental note not to invite her team and her friends out to lunch at the same time. Seemed it was too much of a stretch for her class friends and her out of class friends to get along.

Why did that thought make her so sad?

Beo pursed her lip thoughtfully, "mm." She mumbled and thought, then thought harder, then after a minute finally spoke. "Gonna be honest." She said regarding the two in turn, dead seriously. "I don't really know any restaurants around here, this is pretty much my first time in Vale. And even then I'm not much of the restaurant type." She snickered, "They're kind of few and far between outside the walls." She shrugged and felt her cheeks pinking a bit from embarrassment, "To be honest... I have no idea what a milkshake even is sooo... Why the hell not I trust you guys' taste buds so lets do this." She finished with a relaxed smile.

"What?! You gotta be kidding me, Beo you never had a milkshake before?!" Mel said in shock.

"Well don't you worry, fighty honey! Because Melania Rosenberg would put an end to that!" said Mel as she patted Beo on the back.

"Oh and by the way, what kind the food are you two in to? Because it won't be fun if we go to a restaurant that doesn't serve the food you guys want!"

Mel really doesn't want to screw up this 'date' with Beo... even if Lilith is there, Mel doesn't want to screw up her second chance at love.

"I'll eat anything." Lilith answered honestly. One would think that after having a total of nineteen meals together, Mel would have figured out by now that she really didn't care what she ate...

...unless there was ice cream involved. She would always go for ice cream. But none of the team knew that.

"Beo thought for a moment then spoke, "Well... Some thing simple but hearty, where I can get a big serving of really rare meat with some fresh fruits and vegtables. Oh and organic too if possible." She paused, "Is that too picky? And where do you want to go Mel? I know you must have an opinion."

CKM...

The Trio slid into the Restaurant through the front door, trying to act casual though Citrine constantly glancing around did nothing to support this effort.

"Take a seat" she encouraged her teammates as she continued glancing about.

"Gee, you really know how to make yourself stick out even when attempting anonymity don't you?"

"Silence!"

As Amber and Citrine both took their seats at a random table, Maroon noticed a familiar group of students.

"Huh, don't look now but it seems we've found what Hansi was all up in a hurry about." he commented, easily ignored as Citrine kept her eyes focused.

"Not our problem, stay vigilant my dearest Maro." Citrine encouraged

So Maroon just shrugged at the sight of the assembled students, members of Team HAWT and Team MSMA not far away. Not interacting was one of his strong suits, so he also sat at the table with his two team mates as Amber once again donned her Scroll as Citrine peered obviously over her menu.

"Well, I was think of going to the candy bar I saw when we were flying over here... but..." Mel checked her waist. "I have been meaning to go into a Diet, so why not!" Mel said as they head of to look for a restaurant that would suit all of their needs.

"Oh and Lilith, would you mind that?" @Ian Temero

  • She gave a light laugh as Saffron called her "angel eyes." She was flattered, no doubt, but she couldn't help but wonder how may other he called cheesy stuff like that. Girls followed him like a magnet, and she was sure whatever gift he had gotten her had probably been the suggestion of some other person desperately trying to flirt. She almost felt bad, but she wasn't going to turn down his affections because of some imagined jealousy.

She saw the few members of team CRKM run in, trying to look casual. Why the heck was that? Was something going on nearby? She wouldn't but it past the 3 of them to get into some kind of trouble, especially with all of this gang stuff going on. She gave them a quizzical look across the restaurant, silently asking why they had elected to ignore such a large group of their fellow students.

    What was going on here?

@Bullet Tooth Tony @theManCalledSting @GrieveWriter

Lilith stayed quiet as Mel was dragging them along. An idea had formed in her mind. She looked around the area at building tops, windows, and alleyways. Planning...

When asked her opinion, Lilith just shook her head to say that she had no problem with it.

Lazuli

Lazuli didn't seem fazed by the question. Instead she was calm, looking Argen straight in the eye. "Well, yeah," Lazuli said in a matter-of-fact fashion, cocking her head to the side as if insinuating that it was perfectly normal to desire the mass extermination of clowns everywhere. "Of course I'm afraid of clowns. They're creepy, unfunny and anyone who wears that much make up is trying to hide something." There was also the time her brother locked her in a dark room with a life sized talking clown doll when she was 7 but that probably wasn't important.

She sat back in her seat, smiling like always. She had opened her mouth to say more, but intervention from both Hansi and Saffron made her stop. Well, mostly Hansi. Saffron had no power over her. She didn't have to do as he said. Dropping the subject for now, she took a sip of her drink, wanting more than ever to leave. And maybe trip someone on the street. "Can I just get this stuff to go or something?"

Maroon noticed Hansi's attempts at communication, though his team mates either didn't notice or didn't care, Citrine was staring across the restaurant at something in a peculiar manner as Amber tapped away.

Sighing, Maroon just shook his head in Hansi's direction and hoped she would be easily distracted by whatever the companions she was with were doing.

  • She gave a silent nod to Maroon. They were hiding form something. Citrine had probably tried to take a picture of something ridiculously private. Or Maroon had accidentally offended someone important. Or Amber.. what did Amber even do?

She looked over at Lazuli. Her too? Why was she better at handling a team full of boys than she was at handling her own team? "Uh, well. I can't stop you. I just thought it might be nice to.." oh, who was she kidding with this? This lunch was a disaster, and it was her own fault for not considering her teammates. But she couldn't leave with Lazuli and Teal, not when she had called everyone together like this. "Yeah, you can go. I'm your leader, not your boss. I'm not here to tell you what you can't and like, can't do, ya know?" Despite this, she made a subtle motion with her head, making her unspoken message clear.

    At least apologize to Argen.

"Well, It all looks good," Beo said salivating over the menu and the smells,"But holy crap Mel I can't afford this, some of this stuff is more money then I've ever had! Like holy crap. Ok, you know what. Lets do the smart thing." Beo sighed handed back the menu and closed her eyes. She took a deep breath and exhaled nose twitching. "Ok." Beo said happily, "Found what we need!" She grabbed Mel and Lilith's hands and started running down the street. After zig zagging a bit and following her nose. She skidded to a halt in front of a small grill house, bragging of organic and more importantly cheap food.
