White Masquerade's Blue Oni
Noragami: A New Era Events Log
Coming soon!

The year is 2030 and as modern humans advance and become more independent they are losing their faith in gods. In Japan, old shrines gather dust and become forgotten. Even worse, an organization called Atheism for all of Humanity (AFAH) swept across the nation for a period of time (10 years ago), destroying shrines/churches and denouncing the existence of gods while shaming priests and spiritualists as charlatans just trying to make money off the stupid. Many joined them. Riots of faith and anti-faith broke out. Believers of the unseen became lynched, both verbally and physically. During this period of corruption and darkness, even some of the older gods faded while phantoms grew in number and power…leading to the existence of sentient, human-like phantoms with enough brainpower to gather and form armies of their own in the war against gods. While the gods managed to stand their ground during that period of crisis (the AFAH fad passed), the war to claim the near shore is far from over. Remnants of AFAH still remain. Phantoms are still drawn to the near shore by the darkness in human hearts, ready to feed and corrupt, as new gods are being born from the ashes of the old.

In this new era of gods, life continues on for gods, spirits, phantoms, and humans alike.

Main Points: Ametaru (Nora) arrives in Kyoto to visit the shrine of one of her old gods, meets Kuro, meets Azani, deals with a phantom, and endures Kamatsu's game of BTBG for duty+money. Azani (Goddess of Grudges) and Kuro (Phantom of Pride) make a deal to work together so Kuro can consume all the negativity she wants from people with grudges who call Azani's name. Hasuna (goddess) and her regalia, Yuuken, meet and talk with Chisato Amai (human), while Inemaru (God of Justice) his regalia handle a phantom at Murayami Park. Sumiko (human) encounters Kokoro (free spirit) who was being chased by phantom and Kami_X (God of Hackers). After being spurned by Kokoro, he gives both girls his business card. Under the Sanjoo Bridge, Rika visits the shrine of Nagi (god) and learns that her classmate, Ryotaro (Human), can see the far shore things she does. She agrees to assist him in his plan to help their fellow classmate Kenji and "erase" the negativity of a jellyfish phantom at their school. Ryotaro meets and makes a deal with Ryuujin (God of Sea), who has recently arrived at Kyoto for his own reasons, for protection while he carries out his plan save Kenji and "exorcise" the jellyfish phantom. Nana (Death goddess) finds the spirit of an officer, Jousuke Harunochi, that died during a jewlery store attack and brings it to SSA for protection.

2:00 pm (Kyoto):
In Shirotome High School, a girl named Rika Murakami sits at her desk, watching a jellyfish phantom feed on the negativity of her gloomy classmate (Kenji) while contemplating her inability to exorcise said phantom at her level of beginner Onmyoji and the lack of gods around to do so. As she ponders where her friend, the goddess Ame no Uzume, might've disappeared to, she gets called to the front of her class due to her lack of attention and embarrassed for her inability to answer a math question. More phantoms show up. Rika resolves to ignore them.

Meanwhile, at Yamashina Public Library, a library assistant named Sumiko Yuya passes time by watching the "imaginary" phantoms there until her shift ends. Once it does, she bids her manager and co-workers farewell before grabbing her bag and heading down the street where she decides to find a bench for more bird/phantom watching. More specifically, a swarm of bee-like phantoms drew her eyes as the imaginative girl ponders her own sanity. However, Sumiko's attention shifts when the small phantom swarm breaks apart in light a of a bigger threat. In front of her eyes, a larger, hungrier phantom chases a black-haired girl down the street. Not just any normal girl though. This girl was a spirit and, displaying acrobatic abilities beyond what you'd expect of a normal human, escapes the creature by climbing up a building and pouring holy water into its mouth. Due to her curiosity, or perhaps to have her questions alleviated and her sanity reassured, Sumiko chases after the girl, calling out to her.

2:05 pm (Kyoto): Kami_X, the stray shrineless of god of hacking had been working in a nearby apartment when he feels the tremors and also sees the black haired girl incapacitate the phantom--as well as albino that chased her. Curious and impressed, he calls out to both girls, warning them that the phantom isn't yet 'exorcised' and will likely continue after them once it wakes up. The black-haired spirit, who is quite shocked that a human can see her, thanks Kami_X for his warning and proceeds to lead Sumiko Yuya away from the streets. However, Kami_X didn't want to let the opportunity of meeting two interesting people pass him by, so he teleport between two girls, further shocking the black haired spirit who hadn't expected Kami_X to be a god. Immediate refusal from the black haired spirit called Kokoro, who attempts to drag Sumiko away from the god, stings his pride a little and he decides to leave, refusing Sumiko's invitation to her apartment, but not before making sure both girls have his business card. He calls on Inari to deal with the phantom next to his apartment as he disappears.

Meanwhile, at the Kyoto train station, a Nora whose preferred name is Ametaru arrives in the city of Kyoto. Ignoring the many phantoms she sees, the stray regalia visits the burnt remains of a shrine at the back of a painters workshop in a rural part of the city. A shrine that used to belong to Ude, one of her gods. She decides that since she arrived at Kyoto, she will need a guide and a god.

2:06 pm (Kyoto): The prideful phantom Kuro-Kyogi swoops down from where she'd been been following Ametaru to Ude's shrine and offers to be the regalia's guide. Initially suspicious, Ametaru questions the phantom's intentions and goals for helping her, but Kuro-Kyogi alleviates her worries by explaining that she is far above her lesser of the kind, that she intends to righteously/better than others, and that she wouldn't eat outside of meal schedules. Kuro-Kyogi also offers to lead Ametaru to the shelter she needs before nightfall when the rest of her kind are most active.

2:20 pm (Kyoto): Seeing the phantom's prideful personality, Ametaru apologizes for her mistake and agrees to take Kuro-Kyogi's offer. However, the goddess of vengeance, Azani, who didn't suffer much from the Atheist war 10 years ago due to the fact that her worshippers kept her faith in secret, shows up to intervene in the conversation, introducing herself in the same way she normally sends grudge-bearers to Hell. She questions Ametaru what her sister would think if she saw her regalia conversing with a corrupt being like Kuro-Kyogi, not afraid of the phantom because a regalia and god pair could surely take it down.

2:22 pm (Kyoto): Insulted, Kuro-Kyogi calls Azani an unsightly rat for interrupting their conversation and advises that Ametaru have some pride and follow her instead of listening to an outdated being (god) that has long out-lived its purpose.

2:50 pm (Kyoto): However Ametaru understands/believes it's her duty to obey gods as a regalia so declines Kuro-Kyogi's offer. Explaining to Azani that Amatarasu hasn't called for her in some time and that the phantom was only trying to help, Ametaru wants to avoid a fight and suggests they take their leave. Yet Azani agrees with Kuro-Kyogi that Ametaru shouldn't act like a tool of the gods and further questions whether Kuro-Kyogi has the funds to properly support a regalia. The goddess accuses Kuro-Kyogi of only looking for a meal in Ametaru who, in return, mocks the goddess Azani for being materialistic. Kuro-Kyogi gets ready to leave. Yet Azani has a better idea and tosses in her own offer--join with her to consume the negativity of the dark-hearted humans that call out to her. The deal would allow Kuro-Kyogi to eat as much as she want while doing good for the world. Irritated at being ignored by the two beings while they argue, Ame promises to tell no one of Azani's deal and takes her leave before getting further involved.

2: 55 pm (Kyoto): Kuro-Kyogi agrees to the deal and the pair introduce themselves to each other. As rain descends upon the unholy union of phantom and gods, Azani teleports Kuro-Kyogi with her to their next destination - the home of a person who has called Azani's name. Traveling through a passage in Yomi, Kuro-Kyogi bears witness to the fiery domains of Azani's Hell where human souls wander in eternal torment before they arrive at Azani's next job. A housewife named Kozumi Hideo bears a grudge against her uncontrollable, mentally ill child and wishes for them to be condemned to Hell. She makes a 10,000 yen offering to Azani who accepts the deal and bids the mortal to call out the name of the one she desires to be sentenced to her domain. Once Maki Hideo's name is called, Azani marks the mentally ill child and drops the girl to Hell while Kuro-Kyogi consumes Kozumi's negative emotions, leaving nothing left but pride.

3: 20 pm (Kyoto): Azani and Kuro-Kyogi head to the hotel where Azani stays because she doesn't have a shrine.

4:25 pm (Kyoto): In Maruyama park, a mint-haired girl named Chisato Amai is bothered by phantoms only she seems to be able to see. Trying and failing to swish a phantom between her book, she removes herself from the park bench and passes a pavement that leads to a shrine, but chooses not to enter despite her curiosity because her parents are supporters of AFAH.

4:30 pm (Kyoto): Hasuna, the goddess of children, parenthood, and family, who came to watch cherry blossoms at Maruyama park with her regalia, bumps in to Chisato Amai as the pair makes their way to the desecrated shrine of a deified monk. The three exchange apologies. Chisato, believing that Hasuna is an ordinary pregnant woman with a child, warns the goddess away from the shrine. Hasuna laughs from pure amusement at the unnecessary gesture and invites the mint-haired human to join her in the shrine visit, but the teary-eyed human is hurt by the laughter and declines. Feeling bad, Hasuna apologizes for her laughter and offers to buy the girl a hotdog instead. The goddess notices how Chisato is able to see the inhabitants of the far shore and warns her of phantoms.

Near the hot dog stand, the god of justice, Inemaru, salivates over New York Style hotdogs until a phantom turns its eyes toward him. Not wanting to endanger any pedestrians, he leads the large phantom out of the park and calls to his regalia Shiro. Shiro, who had been watching two kids play a game console, buys a hotdog as he chases after his god.

Under the Sanjoo Bridge, Rika Murakami prays to a small Nagi shrine, dedicated to a minor god of travel, and speaks to the Nagi's regalia, Tatsume, who tells her that the god hasn't been home in some time. They converse. The regalia tells her that she should go home before nightfall and offers to walk her if she is scared of phantoms. However, they are interrupted by her classmate, Ryotaro Hirai, who offers to do so instead. Ryotaro requests Rika's assistance with an "assignment" and asks Tatsume if the gods would be willing to help with it. However, Tatsume ignores the second request and only answers the first before disappearing, much to Rika's displeasure.

4:35 pm (Kyoto): The discussion between Hasuna and Chisato continues with Chisato inquiring about Hasuna's identity and Hasuna explaining to the human that she is a goddess. Meanwhile, Inemaru, who was lamenting his lack of a hot dog as he is sent to the ground by a ferocious roar, calls the name of his regalia 'Haki'. Shiro valiantly throws the hot-dog aside and transforms into a large, white fox to tackle aside the hungry phantom assaulting his god. From a nearby tea shop, Kami_X snaps a picture of Haki as he watches the fight unfurl. The god of hacking laments his interaction with Kokoro and feeds a stray cat, which he decides to adopt.

4:40 pm (Kyoto): Hasuna answers Chisato's questions regarding invisibility and regalias, while Inemaru rides Haki to the skies. The salamander phantom chasing him had consume many smaller phantoms along the way and grown to the size of a small house, so Inemaru decides to lead it to a more open area. Weaving through the streets and allies, Haki obeys his god and searches for a fitting place to engage the phantom.

4: 50 pm (Kyoto): Arriving in a mountainous area away from other people, Inemaru tells Haki to go wild while he dives into a forest. The battle between the phantom salamander and Haki ensues with the divine fox Haki biting into it. Wailing in agony, the creature of negativity knocks Haki into the forest. At the same time, Ametaru gets attacked by a phantom and defeats it.

5:00 pm (Kyoto): Instead of leading her home, Ryotaro walks her to his "office" ,which is pretty much his house, and explains about his intentions to help their classmate Kenji. Bringing her tea and showing her a book of his family's ancestors, he believes that phantoms can have their negativity removed and asks her opinion on the subject. Rika tells Ryotaro he's crazy, he's making too many wild guesses, and phantoms are dangerous. Ryotaro agrees that he is crazy, but doesn't want to live a life of regrets. He launches into a speech about the weaknesses of humanity, explaining that his motivations aren't entirely altruistic and that the school could be in danger if the phantom were to grow any larger. More than that, Ryotaro wants to test if his plan will work and, even if he knows the risks involved, even if he has to go at it alone, he believes finding the answer and helping Kenji is worth that risk. Ryotaro bids her assistance, but makes it clear he has no intentions of backing down from the task and advises her not to make the same mistake he once did. Impressed by Ryotaro's determination, Rika laughs and agrees to help. They make plans.

6:00 pm (Kyoto): Rika walks herself home under the shade of the red umbrella Ryotaro gave her and decides to spend the night making talismans in preparation for the next day as drops of rain begin to pour. Meanwhile, Ametaru who needs money, answers the call of one of her gods, Kamatsu, who dresses her up for his latest money-making venture--a game called Break the Tool or Blight the God (BTBG).

10: 00 pm (Kyoto): Under the pitter patter of heavy rainfall, the phantom of Greed, Ue, possesses a human, a regular office worker. Amplifying his negative emotions for her to feed on, she drives him to attack a jewelry store.

11: 00 pm (Kyoto): Ryuujin arrives in Kyoto and helps to clear the storm (of phantoms) as well as save the office worker from Ue's possession with the help of his regalias. He meets Ryotaro Hirai, who has been following him, and they move to a hotel where a deal is struck between them: Ryuujin watches over the Ryotaro's attempt at removing a phantom's negativity and ensures the safety of Ryotaro and his classmates in return for Ryotaro's shrine-building service and usage of his divine eye whenever necessary. Ryuujin extends his stay in the near shore, checks into the hotel, and sends most of his regalias back to Ryugu-jo with the exception of his blessed regalia, Uroko. Meanwhile, at the Jewlery store, a shinigami branch manager of the SSA Office in Kyoto (which helps spirits in finding homes/employment) reaps the spirit of a dead officer before phantoms could get to it.

April 2nd, 2030
12: 15 am (Kyoto): Ryotaro returns home, soaking wet, and contemplates his life while he spends the night piecing together fishbones to make a dreamcatcher. He gets coffee. Meanwhile, Ametaru endures humiliation all without blighting her god as the game of BTBG comes to an end. She makes Kamatsu promise not to play the game with anyone else but her and he assures her that this is the last time. The Nora then leaves to find a place to stay the night while Kamatsu returns to heaven, but not before leavings some parting words for the regalia. Somewhere else, a different god wakes briefly from his slumber.

6:00 am (Kyoto): There is a news report of the jewelry store attack and death of Maki Hideo that happened the day before as Rika fibs to her father for a bit before leaving her house. However, instead of heading straight to her school, she heads to the Oto Jinga shrine where she baths her body in holy water for a bit while recollecting her memories of her friend, Uzume.

12:30 pm (Kyoto): With her new gotten money, Ametaru decides to go on a shopping spree at the Teramachi Shopping District. She purchases many things including clothes, jewelry, snacks, and gets her fortune told when a phantom attacks her and chases her around for a bit. Ametaru defeats the phantom and discovers a small spirit hiding near a fountain. She takes the spirit and brings it with her to the Spirit Staffing Agency where one one of Nana (Death goddess/Shinigami)'s regalias, Kagemi is typing away. Sitting at her desk, Kagemi laments the fact that isn't out in the field and the lack of Heaven-sent help when she notices Ametaru, the former Imperial Regalia of Japan turned Nora. She falls off her chair. Kagemi rights herself back into her seat as Ametaru enters asking for Nana, whether SSA helps wandering spirits, and whether she knows anything about the regalia called Inbu.

12: 35 (Kyoto): Immediately agreeing to help, Kagemi leads Ametaru and the wandering spirit (fluffball/flake) to the 'Spirit Room' where SSA reaped spirits are stored. Explaining proudly to the visitor about how strictly SSA operates to protect the purity of souls, Kagemi opens the vault door and calls for spirit #4389. A raven haired spirit in a night colored appears to lead the new soul into the depths of the 'Spirit Room'. They talk for a bit. Kagemi questions #4389 whether she's heard anything about the regalia Inbu that belonged to the god Ude. Spirit #4389 replies that hasn't since the war 10 years ago, but she agreed to ask around before leaving with the new spirit in tow. Kagemi closes the door and advises Ametaru to wait in the office lounge for Nana because SSA's branch manager probably won't be back for another hour or two.

3:30 pm (Kyoto): Classes at Shirotome High ends for the day, but Ryotaro and Rika's plans for exorcising the jellyfish phantom that possesses Kenji finally begins. Ryotaro heads to the school field to make sure everything is ready while Rika lures Kenji to the empty field where the exorcism will take place. Overlooking the field, Ryuujin and his regalia Uroko watch the events bellow from atop the school building. Turns out the jellyfish phantom was the very same phantom Ryuujin came to Kyoto to find and used to be a spirit called 'Towako'.

3: 35 pm (Kyoto): Ryotaro talks to Kenji about his problems, offering assistance should it be needed, and gives Kenji the dreamcatcher he made the night before, making the gloomy boy laugh. Kenji's happiness causes the jellyfish phantom to slide off the boy and Ryuujin explains to Uroko what Ryotaro did. However, soon after, the phantom glows as it starts to evolve. Uroko draws a borderline between Ryotaro, Rika, Kenji, and the now human shaped phantom. Thinking quickly, Ryotaro leads Kenji and Rika quickly away from soon to be chaos that humans aren't meant to involve themselves in.

3: 36 pm (Kyoto): Azani teleports into the Shirtome High School Halls for a job, called by a school boy that wants to damn one of his teachers to Hell. Witnessing the evolved jellyfish phantom, she questions her new partner Kuro-Kyogi if her evolution had been anything like it when Kami_X, emerging from the phone of schoolboy, joins their conversation. Greeting Azani, he observes the events out in the school field for a bit before making a counter request to the goddess of vengeance, offering to double whatever her summoner paid if she would ignore the school boy's request to send his teacher to Hell.

3: 37 pm(Kyoto): Uroko and the newly evolved jellyfish phantom battle it out with songs for a bit before Ryuujin intervenes. Frightened, the newly evolved jellyfish runs away, prompting Ryuujin and his divine trident to give a chase. Meanwhile, Kuro Kyogi rebukes Kami_X's attempt at bribing a proud goddess, shooing him away, and Azani refuses Kami_X's request, explaining to him that honor is important for a god's survival. The goddess of grudges comments that Kuro acts more like a god than the newer gods these days. Insulted, Kami_X nonetheless 'thanks' her and leaves, returning back into the phone, but not before leaving behind some passive aggressive comments/advice regarding honor, pride, and the mentality of kids.

3: 38 pm (Kyoto): Irritated at Kami_X, Kuro Kyogi suggests that Azani claim the teacher's life and just leave, but Azani, out of consideration for Kami_X's situation, decides to do it later once her target is off the grounds of the school . Believing that the hacker god lacks guidance and needs a guidepost to show him the way of gods, she declares her intention to go visit the death gods of SSA and that she expects 200, 000 yen when she gets back. Kuro-Kyogi, annoyed that her partner is not listening to her and not understanding why Azani has to go meet with the death gods, flies off in a huff back to the hotel where the two are staying. Wary of betrayal, since Azani was going to meet other gods, Kuro-Kyogi sharpens her feathers in preparation. Confused, Kami_X replies (through Azani's worshipper's phone) that he only intends to pay if she answers his request in full. However, he is grateful for her compromise, so he simply advises Azani that she and the death gods, due to their natures may not get along, and her feathered partner seems a smidge upset.

4: 00 pm (Kyoto): At Kenji's place, Ryotaro clues Rika into what he did, explaining everything as he contemplates all that transpired and his partially successful experiment. He tells her his plans to meet Ryuujin at the hotel the sea god is staying and thanks Rika for her assistance. Rika decides to go with him, saying it was her decision and he has nothing to thank her for, and declaring that she will judo flip Ryuujin if he smites Ryotaro. This causes Ryotaro to laugh. Meanwhile, Sumiko Yuya texts a prayer to Kami_X who quickly texts a reply after digging information on Suda Kyomi and podering his life in the clubroom closet he calls a home. At the same time, Shorn, the god of dispair and disdain, arrives in Kyoto to run an errand for Ayame's regalia Yoiaka, who he suspects simply doesn't trust him. He suffers from a headache due to the intensive gloom in Kyoto and gets questioned by human police officers when he encounters Azani who is on her way to the SSA office building.

4:05 pm (Kyoto): Sumiko replies to Kami_X's text saying that she learned a little from speaking to Kokoro about the spiritual world, but she wants to learn more and she's willing to give any offerings as necessary. Shorn tells the goddess of grudges that he isn't from Kyoto and asks her about the negativity in the city. Azani thinks Shorn is too wordy and dances around her question, but, being a good mood, she explains to him about the atrocities committed by AFAH that she saw 10 years ago.

4:06 pm (Kyoto): Teleporting straight into Sumiko's apartment, Kami_X requests 5000 yen for a full Kami_X crash course on living the life between the far and the near shores. Sumiko agrees and gives Kami_X her credit card. Meanwhile, Azani and Shorn continue to talk when Nana and her regalia, Hikarumi, arrive. Tired after returning from her work in Heaven, Nana nonetheless questions the two whether or not they have business at SSA.

4: 08 pm (Kyoto): Azani insults Shorn by calling him a 'wordy' bastard and explains that while Shorn is lost, she needs a spirit (preferably a Nora) who can serve as a guidepost for a foolish god. Laughing at the wordy bastard bit, Shorn requests an explanation as to what SSA is.

4:20 pm (Kyoto): Slightly insulted by Azani's rudeness in referring to SSA spirits as 'stock', Nana answers Shorn's question first, explaining the origins of SSA, before replying to Azani that she needs more information on the god in question before she can pick out a suitable spirit for said 'foolish' god. Death god #99 of Earth's Shinigami Squad then invites them both to the SSA building to continue with the official procedures. Azani does not approve of SSA's method in naming regalias, comparing it to a dating app, but complies because she has little choice in the matter. Kagemi, Nana's regalia, greets the death goddess with a hug at the door and and explains that there's another waiting for her. Nana greets Ametaru, but apologizes because it doesn't seem like her work is done yet and asks the regalia to wait a little longer. However, Azani states that she does does not need an SSA spirit requests Ametaru's assistance in guiding a young, foolish god who believes he owns the land he current 'lives'. Ametaru agrees to Azani's requests, but before going, insists that that she wait for Nana since there is something she must talk about. Shorn calls Azani and cuddly teddy bear and questions Azani's authenticity, given the inconsistent treatment between him and the god she wants to help. Nana expresses her opinion honestly. Azani rebuts by telling Shorn he is a sheltered god compared to Kami_X, a god of technology, who is at least working to survive.

4:30 pm (Kyoto): The argument gods is broken by Ametaru who states that her opinions don't matter and tearfully begs Nana to give her information regarding the one of her previous gods, Ude. Azani leaves, harshly telling Ametaru that she isn't needed, while Shorn and Nana comfort the Nora, whose emotional pain spreads to her other gods (Amaterasu, Kamatsu, and Susanoo). However, Nana has no information to give, only able to tell her that Death gods had been swamped with work, supplying gods with regalias, during the war 10 years ago. Shorn chokes and Hikarumi provides tea.

4: 36 pm (Kyoto): Kuro Kyogi finishes her fort of pillows and traps for when Azani (and possibly an army of gods) returns.

4:40 pm (Kyoto): Apologizing and thanking both Shorn and Nana, Ametaru assists Kagemi in reseting the borderline before taking her leave, but not before leaving behind her business card in case she is ever needed. The Nora goes to Ude's shrine one last time to bid her god farewell. Meanwhile, Susanoo wakes from his slumber after dreaming of the past and decides to end things between him and Ametaru once and for all.

4:45 pm (Kyoto): With Azani and Ametaru gone, Shorn introduces himself to Nana and questions her about the soul of a human he once knew, Kaiyo Niwa. However, because his voice is shot, the god of despair and disdain scribbles the rest of his message. He finds the air in SSA comfortable and requests shelter. He also informs her of his execution order.

4:55 pm (Kyoto): Nana denies Shorn's request, stating that it poses a risk to the human spirit if he tries to interfere with her second life. She leads Shorn into her private office, where she explains that there isn't much she can do for him regarding his execution order. She explains that SSA is a public building so he can stay as long as he wants, but she doesn't like loitering as SSA is workplace not a hotel.

5: 04 pm (Kyoto): Shorn decides to work at SSA, writing his message in words that seem to spell danger for Kyoto.

5: 09 pm (Kyoto): Reading the message, Nana seems to understand somewhat. She burns the message before give Shorn the employment papers for him to sign, going over his job details.

5: 15 pm (Kyoto): Shorn finishes reading and signing all the employment papers. He then searches for Hikarumi.

5: 40 pm (Kyoto): Hikarumi, Nana's regalia, shows him to his quarters in the SSA building and goes over the details of his new job in more depth. They encounter spirit #4389 of SSA who asks Shorn if he would like to color with her. Shorn agrees. The numbered spirit extends her invitation to Hikarumi as well, but the red-haired regalia declines, stating she has more work to do.

5: 55 pm (Kyoto): Shorn tries his best to color within the lines, but it turns out he is no god of coloring. The god of despair and disdain and spirit #4389 share a light-hearted 'discussion' and get to know each other better. Shorn, whose voice isn't functioning properly, compliments her coloring abilities and asks her numerous questions--like what type of god she thinks he is--through written means.

6: 00 pm(Kyoto): Rika and Ryotaro arrive at the hotel Ryuujin is staying in. Rika finds the room number and they make their way to Room 513 where Uroko greets them and Ryuujin is seen looking over a map of Kyoto, apparently not having caught the phantom. Ryotaro insists on helping the pair find the phantom and Ryuujin tells the human boy he can do what he wants and that he doesn't care if Ryotaro dies. Rika and Ryuujin have an argument about humans, which Uroko cuts short, and the conversation extends to a brief explanation of the newly evolved phantoms that began appearing since the war between phantoms and gods 10 years ago. Uroko questions what Ryotaro might've done to make the phantom evolve. Meanwhile, back at the SSA building, #4389 answers all of Shorn's questions and teaches him to color. She invites Shorn to hang out with her and #10013 on their playdate where they can show him around Kyoto.

6:10 pm(Kyoto): After explaining to Uroko how the dreamcatcher was made, what he was trying to do, and what he intends to do, Ryotaro and Rika leave, but not before Ryotaro gives the pair of far shore residents his business card and explains that he's a 'detective'. Rika apologizes to the cheerful Ryotaro for starting an argument and they decide to head back to the school field to search for the jellyfish phantom that used to be a spirit called 'Towako'. At the SSA building, the discussion continues between Shorn and #4389 and the god of Despair and Disdain suggests the name 'Soramai' for her.

6:15 pm (Kyoto): Spirit #4389 seems to love the name, but cautions him about getting a spirit's hopes up without taking responsibility for it. She explains the problems of attachment for unnamed spirits like her and defends SSA's numbering system that leaves the naming of spirits up to gods. The pair finishes coloring and #4389 shows Shorn to the cafeteria.

6:40 pm(Kyoto): Rika and Ryotaro arrive at the Shirotome High school field where Ryotaro explains in full detail about his divine eye and touches the jellyfish phantom's 'footprints'/remnant.

8: 20 pm(Kyoto): While Ryotaro is still touching phantom footprints and remnants for clues, Rika encounters the jellyfish phantom who warns her (and Ryotaro) from interfering with him. Hearing Rika's phone call, Ryotaro rushes into the school building and helps the frightened girl to her feet.

8: 50 pm(Kyoto): Rika and Ryotaro arrive back at Ryotaro's office/home, where Ryotaro prepares them dinner and they talk. Ryotaro tells Rika that he understands why Ryuujin acts the way he does, living in a Heavenly undersea castle. Rika isn't impressed by the 'spoiled kid'. She explains to Ryotaro about the evolved jellyfish phantom's warning and asks what he intends to do.

9: 20 pm (Kyoto): Ryotaro explains to Rika his plans as they eat and says he still wants to talk to Jellyfish phantom, intending to skip school tomorrow to continue his search. He takes a call from his uncle, then returns to bring out cake to finish off dinner. Rika brings her plates to sink before leaving. She says she can't skip school, but she intends to see things to the end with Ryotaro and hopes he doesn't do anything stupid on his own. She returns home to find it's once more raining. Once Rika leaves, Ryotaro gives Uroko a call to report all that's happened and ask some questions about how phantoms travel. He also requests for protection.

9: 25 pm (Kyoto): Uroko agrees to inform Ryuujin of Ryotaro's request and explains to Ryotaro that there are many possible ways for phantoms to travel, advising the boy to not act rashly. He bids Ryotaro to meet him noon the next day at the park behind the hotel to discuss the spirit that used to be named Towako. Meanwhile, Shorn paces his new quarters in the SSA building as he contemplates his decision of warning the death gods and the events of the day. His Oath to the Goddess of Vitality in return for protection keeps him from revealing everything he knows. However, he suspects that more is going on the Lilium Resort than meets the eye.
