Vaila Durrandon

Vaila look disapprovingly at Leon as he spoke of the commoners. Recent history had show the the peasantry could overthrow Kings and she did not want to end up executed by one of them. Vaila looked down at her dress as Leon spoke, noticing a line of mud around the bottom, she sighed, it was an expensive dress but surely the servants could wash out the mud. She blushed slightly at her brothers compliment. "Oh brother" she whispered teasingly "You are to kind".

Robert Durrandon

"I look forward to that too" King Robert said, standing up and walking over to the young Queen of Riga and kissing her hand out of courtesy. "Welcome, my lords!" He announced to the crowd of vassal lords behind the King and Queen of Origia. "My Queen" He turned back to Amelia "These are my children, Alaric, my eldest son, Vaila my daugher and Leon my youngest son" He said, gesturing to each of his children. "Now!" He added, raising his voice "The treaty between our kingdoms is all drawn up and just awaits your signature, if you'll follow me" He gestured to a back door behind the throne room, waiting for the Queen to lead the way.

Leon didn't here the last statement his sister made as his father king Robert introduced his children. First of course was Alaric, the oldest and future husband to the queen of Riga. Next was his sister Vaila, the one loved by all. Once his name was called Leon's back straightend and he crossed his right arm against his chest in the traditional military salute. A annoyed sigh left his lips as the massses of movies turned their attention away from the royal family and began to mingle. Leon folded his hands behind his back and quickly defended down the stairs with light steps heading into the crowd. Now would be his chance to meet with the nobles and learn if their was any information of value to obtain. He particular wanted to know any information he could get from Riga and Origa.

The royal guard had to Crack a smile as their presence was announced. His Queen practically glowed as the pair made their way through the crowd. She walked with the air of royalty certainly, but there was also threat in it. Whether she found that from her own strength or from knowing that whoever fucked with her, fucked with the hulking mass of muscle and scar tissue beside her, he didn't know but he enjoyed the way the rabble within the crowd looked away as his gaze swept across this throne room.

It came to his attention that most of the nobility were armed with ceremonial swords or side swords, designed for looks rather than practicality. It was perfect because Fenrir had his signature greatsword strapped to his back and the weapon itself commanded respect. Those in the room who have seen the fires of war knew that the weapon on the wolf knight's back had spilled more blood than combined amount of blood of the all the people in the room. Fenrir's people believed that once a weapon was used in combat for a long enough time and took enough lives, the weapon itself ascended and was granted a soul. It became a living weapon and it certainly would feel that way to any who held it.

The royal captain nodded his head, as is custom, to the kings, Queens, princes, and princesses within the room. He did know how to play the part, naturally. But the knight made it a point to hold the gaze of those that actually looked like they could pose a threat. For example, there was a man amongst the crowd that was sizing the Steel Wolf up and Fenrir didn't hesitate to do the same when he noticed. It was certainly someone who had some blood on his hands and that alone was enough to garner some respect from the knight. He inclined his head to the fellow warrior, which confused some of the nobility. Fenrir only bowed his head to royalty in the room. Why would he do so for that random person? Ignorant cur. They know nothing of respect amongst warriors. He thought to himself.

Fenrir glanced over to his young queen and put a hand on her shoulder in confidence. He nodded to her when she was done speaking. She had done well to proclaim her stance and show she was afraid of no one here. The wolf knight broke his official pose, now that the pleasantries were done with and crossed his massive arms in front of his chest. A lopsided grin apparent on his features directed at no one in particular.

Jeanne nodded to herself as all the normal ceremonial things rolled through. She didn't really care for it, but she found it important due to respect and tradition, two things that meant a lot to her. Jeanne was waiting on the moment she would be allowed to move. It was one particular person, carrying a great sword  that she wanted to talk to. A fellow guard. She needed to clear things up. For when the prince would marry, the queen would be in Jeanne's duty as well.

When she finally was allowed, she bowed one last time to her king, before walking over to the bulky man. He was a lot taller than the dainty figure of Jeanne. Something about him however felt familiar...

Jeanne made a slight bow with her head. "Sire, you must be the famous wolf Knight. I am Jeanne Ducrois, the head of the guard of Verlais. As honoring as meeting you is, we nerd to talk about how our duties will mix up with this marriage and how we will not hinder each other to fulfil them."

As the Queen was led away, Fenrir sighed and was about to turn to find some corner to stand end until the clanking of approaching armor rang into his ears. The female guard began to speak about how their duties would fall with the both of them being captain of their own respective guards. It was a very fair question. How would that work out? Certainly seemed like a discussion to be had at length with the fabled female knight of......

"No....It's you? Ha! Haha haha! Do the gods smile upon me today? The one woman that's managed to capture my attention and almost kill me stands before me as the very captain of Verlais? Hahahahaha!" The knight removed his cowl and smiled brightly at the female knight, the scar above his right brow still fresh from where she had nearly blinded him permanently. "I'm thrilled to have met you once again Miss Jeanne Ducrois. So that was your name. Haha! I still can't believe this! How have you been since our bout? Hope the ribs healed properly." He was rather happy and loud about the whole situation, which drew the eyes of many nobles. Not to Fenrir but to the female knight. This....girl? Almost bested Fenrir in combat. It was apparently only now that the rabble was realizing that she was much more than just a pretty face.

Jeanne tilted her head for a second, as she didnt really understand what Fenrir meant. Then, slowly, she understood, one could see how she understood. Then her face lit up to a bright smile, just to be then covered in a cute blush. She turned away a bit. "Uhm, you let too much praise come upon me. After all, i lost, there is no other way to put it. All my wounds healed up nicely, the one at my ribs just left me a little scar.." She seemed to be flustered by the whole subject. She appeared less like a warrior and more like a girl right now. "Uhm, I´m sorry.", she muttered and regained her composure. "We can talk about the old times at another moment, maybe somewhere more privat." The blush was still present, but she was back to her normal tone.

"Of course, of course. I look forward to it." Fenrir replied, still all smiles with the smaller woman. It was quite amusing to watch such a battle ready warrior, filled with duty and purpose shift into a blushing maiden so quickly. Other women in the gathering be damned. Fenrir liked a girl who could knock him on his 200 pound ass every now and then.

The wolf knight pulled up his cowl once again and gestured for Jeanne to lead the way. After all, he had never been here before and this entire place was new to him. The Guardian would follow close behind where she may lead and think fondly to the time where they had had their battle. In the finale of a tournament, this petite woman nearly lopped his head off of his shoulders more times than he could count. It wasn't supposed to be a fight to the death but she was swinging intent to kill and that only served to excite the tribal warrior. The battle was hard fought and they both left the stage bloodied and bruised but Fenrir was the victor by a hair's width. The only reason he won was because of the experience advantage, being almost a decade her senior. Still, it was a fight he wouldn't have minded losing.

Jeanne was not happy with leaving that early, but there were enough guards to at least notify her if something came up. However, she was uncomfortable with leaving the throne room, one could see that as she led Fenrir outside of it and into the garden. It was close enough to the throneroom to be there at any time, but it still was the garden and Jeanne loved it here. She liked nature. Sitting down in the grass with clunking armor, she smiled up at the tower of a man that she could now see behind her. "You know, back then i used to fight without armor. It made me faster, which is my greatest strength. But my father insisted on me wearing an armor when in duty." She tried to shake of a little of the stress and embarrassment.

Vaila Durrandon

The court broke into chatter as everyone started to mingle. The guardsmen stood spread around room, half a dozen near her King father. None seemed to be watching Vaila and Leon "Care for a stroll in the gardens brother?" Vaila asked him raising eyebrow, an air of flirtation in her voice. Vaila and Leon had a scandalous relationship, always flirting with each other which was strange as they were brother and sister, if anyone found out it would be the greatest scandal Verlais would of seen for a century. Hopefully no one had picked up on it.

"I've worn the heaviest armors for so long that armor feels like a second skin to me." He replied. Fenrir grunted a bit as his rear touched grass just in front of the other captain before taking a breath of relaxation. Thing about being a guard was that you were almost always tense. It was hard to find a moment like this one to wind down. "Not having armor makes me feel like I'm naked. I feel naked right now" he chuckled as he looked down at all his fancy silks. The hardened leather parts he had fit on as armor felt a little better but it still wasn't enough. The blade upon his back was certainly a welcome weight, however.

"Moments like these are certainly necessary though." Fenrir stated as he began to let his eyes wander around the garden. It truly was beautiful and quite a sight to behold. But it was always said that the most beautiful flowers had thorns or otherwise poisonous. Which he was reminded of when his eyes fell back on the blonde knight before him. "You are pretty damn fast. With armor or without it."

Jeanne looked up into the sky. With all the worries and sorrow she had all day, especially regarding the royal children, moments of relaxing were more than rare. A small sigh escaped her lips. She truly loved nature. "Armor makes me feel so heavy. Its like I carry everything on my shoulders. All the sorrow and duty is connected to this heavy metal suit." She blushed yet again at his compliment. "I better be. All my skill depends on my speed. I lack a lot of the strength other people have, I could most likely not even lift that monstrosity of a weapon you carry." She smiled at him shyly. Then she quickly went back to staring at the sky, hoping the warmth in her cheeks would finally leave. She was no stupid girl. She was a warrior. Jeanne told those two things to herself over and over.

"Well, if you've ever doubted yourself then rest easy. You almost took down someone a decade your senior in combat. Whatever you have been doing, keep doing it ." He replied with a compliment again. She seemed to be enjoying them, indicated by the blood rushing to her cheeks. Again, it was amusing to watch the internal struggle but the wolf had enough tact to not comment on it.

Fenrir let out a deep, husky chuckle when she commented on the weight of his weapon, leaning forward a bit to respond. "Well, you can try all you wish after today Captain Ducrois. After all, I greatly look forward to our time together from here on out." The male thought to himself for a moment before adding, "I'm glad to have met you again. I was honestly thinking I may never meet a woman of your caliber again! Hahaha!" Fenrir lightly flirted. He knew it would drive the blush deeper in her cheeks but he was always a very forward and honest man. The guardian always tried to make his intentions clear and he was certainly trying to do so here. He was interested in Jeanne and he wanted her to be aware of that.

Jeanne could not believe what was happening here. She felt like she was back in puberty, all the blushing and being flustered really was not what she knew of herself. This man was doing something, that others had never done. Or was it less what he did and more who he was? Jeanne quickly banished such thoughts. 'He is a decade older than me and he could have anyone, why would such a person ever be interested. I must be imagining. Maybe he just is a huge flirt...', she thought to herself. All of that thoughts however were forgotten again at his last sentence. He was now clearly showing interest. And Jeanne had no idea how to react to that. She was not even sure if it disturbed her, or if she wanted that. Her whole mind was completely a mess. She brushed a curl of hair out of her face, by that covering it towards him, so he could not see the small smile she had. as soon as the curl was dealt with, she looked at him with an expression that seemed more than just innocent. "You can call me Jeanne." Her cheeks were redder than ever, but she acted like she did not even notice.

Amelia greeted the princes and princess with An equal amount of her acknowledgement though her eyes did the opposite. She couldn't help but steal glances of her Fiancee. He was tall and handsome as most described him to be. Before she was able to start any conversations with them, the king was eager to lead her away to sign documents. "I would like Prince Aleric to accompany us as well. His life is involved in the alliance, it would make sense that he got a say or two. Don't you agree?" She suggested with her unwavering smile. It honesty this was a mere test. She gave never informal spoke to the prince nor knew much about him, thus it was a chance to see his personality and maybe even his ability to lead.

She patted Fen on the back whilst whispering. "Good luck." She then strolled beside the two royals, being lead to the room. "If you don't mind, I would like to be refreshed on our agreements. I want to know what exactly our stance is on this endeavor of ours and make dome adjustments when they're needed."

King Robert Durrandon

Robert smiled back at the queen, gritting his teeth slightly at the request that his son join them in the signing of the treaty. "Of course" Robert nodded in agreement. Robert lead the way into a small room behind the throne. It had the grey iron fist banners on a yellow field of house Durrandon draped around the room, with a small wooden table that had the treaty laid out on it. Robert walked over to the table, before turning back to the Queen "In this treaty you would agree to marry my son Alaric, you would also agree that when you bear a son he or she would inherit both the Kingdoms of Verlais and Riga, if you fail to bear a son, Riga will become a part of the kingdom of Verlais upon your death" The terms favoured King Robert but he knew that the queen would be foolish to deny this alliance, after all the northern barbarians had gathered under one king and when you're all the way North there is only one place to march that army, south.

"Well Jeanne, my friends call me Fen. And I apologize for being so brazen buuuut...." If the female knight had any doubt, it would be erased for certain now. "I was born in a nomadic tribe far to the north. It was a place with snow, ice, and mountains as far as the eye could see. My people worship wolves as our ancient ancestors and through our warrior like traditions, bring honor to our family in the stars. I, myself, was named after one of the great wolf gods above. As was my twin sister." The mention of home did cause the man's seemingly impenetrable feel to Crack for a moment as a look of longing glossed over his eyes for a brief moment.

He was all smiles again once it passed and then he reached up a pulled the large wolf skin off of his person. A beautiful coat of snow white, purer than a newborn and yet deeper than any abyss. Truly, the care shown for this fur was unmatched by any of the kingdoms on this side of the world. "This specific cowl is something the Queen was always bothering me to bring to each and every ceremony or gathering I ever accompanied her to. The reason because this is the fur that I am to give to someone of my choosing. A partner if you so will. My people are very meticulous when choosing partners and in over 36 winters, I have given it to no one. No woman has ever caught my eye. Until today that is....or should I say until that day at the tournament? Haha!"

The Wolf Knight offered the pelt with both hands and a small, smile. His brown eyes showed no deception and we're as straight forward as ever. "Regardless of whether you show me favor or not, it is part of my tradition to give this to you. Please, do treat it carefully Mi Luna." he said with a slight bow of his head before returning his gaze upwards and to her blue one.

"Oh, and no I don't have more so this is the only one." He added with a hearty laugh.

Jeanne looked at him like he was mad. Her eyes were big and unbelieving. She stared at the man, the pelt, the man again. She appeared to not be able to understand the words he had spoken. Then, all of a sudden, not only her cheeks, but her whole head became a shining tomato. She opened her mouth, as if to speak, but nothing came out. She closed it again, looking at the pelt. After the third repetition of that process she smiled, just a little bit, but visible. She took the pelt with careful hands, as if it was her newborn. "Thank you Fen... I can do nothing but accept your offer. Sadly we have nothing in our culture we can offer." She seemed sad for a moment, then a idea sparked her mind. She gave him a quick Peck on the cheek. "I will bring this to my room, so no harm can come upon it.", she said, looking at the beautiful present.

She tapped her hands on the table, obviously in thought. "What actions will Verlais take immediately after I sign this?since you are aware of our current situation." She wanted immediate action to disposing the her opponents, Even if it meant officially declaring war. She was only at the start of her reign and she didn't want to throw it into chaos.

Oh boy. He thought to himself. She was as red as could possibly be and Fenrir feared that he may have inadvertently over worked her brain. He mentally scolded himself for forgetting that Jeanne had probably never been courted before. At least, not since she became a royal guard. The wolf knight couldn't be sure of it but he had a strong feeling. She was younger than him and he needed to keep that in mind while pursuing her, now that he officially decided to.

Eventually, she was able to process the information and a small smile made its way to her soft lips and Fenrir had to smile in turn. She had accepted the present and that was the first major obstacle. It means she had SOME interest, which was a start. She even wanted to return the favor somehow and Fenrir couldn't help but laugh at that statement. "Jeanne, I'm declaring that I'm going to be pursuing you hahaha. There is no need to return the fav-" Was all he was able to get out as his words were cut off by the female captain. She had....surprisingly....boldly even, leaned over and placed her lips upon his cheek. The warrior's thought process was completely erased for a brief moment before he simply nodded his head after she said she would take care of it. "It's yours. You can wear it if you wish or store it somewhere. It was my mother's before me." Fenrir's eyes shifted from their usual straight forwardness to an affectionate look. It was small but it was there for a brief moment before being replaced with genuine happiness. "The greatest gift you could return to me is to even give me the time of day."

Jeanne could not hold back a small cute giggle, as the mighty warrior lost his words due to the small thanks she had offered. She smiled at him happily, she could not fully believe what was happening. But she liked it, she liked him. She had done so after the tournament. And to see how he liked her, how she could even silence him with such a small act, it made her heart beat so much faster. She felt alive. Ever since she was the head of guard, those moments were rare. She was usually just stuffed with duty. Not that she disliked that, she felt truly honored and the royals were like a family to her. But now...

Jeanne gently and carefully placed the fur on her shoulders as it was supposed to be. It suited her pale skin well, even though few of it was visible due to the armor. Still, the fur gave her a certain grace. She smiled happily and then looked at the man that had made her so happy. "I will give you all the time we have.", she honestly answered. She could not help smiling. It was there and she couldn't get rid of it. She was starting to realize what was going on fully now.

Jeanne could not hold back a small cute giggle, as the mighty warrior lost his words due to the small thanks she had offered. She smiled at him happily, she could not fully believe what was happening. But she liked it, she liked him. She had done so after the tournament. Now it was Fenrir's turn to be flustered as he coughed slightly turned his eyes away for the first time. The way she was smiling at him made his heart start to beat just a bit faster and it was beginning to scatter his thoughts. It's like he just noticed exactly what he was doing and had a delayed reaction to it all. Though it wasn't a delayed reaction, it was merely her full smile. "Ahem. W-well yes. I look forward to every second.  It wi-"

For the second time, Fenrir's words were cut off as he looked back at her and saw her with the wolf fur now adorning her shoulders. His eyes even widened slightly at the sight in awe. He truly did not believe it was going to suit her so well but it complimented her almost every feature. "Uh.....Wow. I didn't think you could look more....ahem let me not say that just yet. I'm sure you'll surprise me more in the future." He said with a smile mirroring her own.

"Well um back to the matter at hand then before my heart stops. You wanted to discuss our duties no?"

She could not stop herself from the second giggle. She would not have expected to look good with the Wolf, it felt odd. But his reaction said more than words ever could. She got happier by the second.

"Matter at hand?" She got surprised by the sudden change of topic. "Du- Oh yeah! Uhm, I wanted to clear who guards when and wanted to see if we would get along." The guard giggled a bit and then looked to the ground  "That matter already got cleared." She giggled again and looked at him. "We... we should head back to the feast. Or... we could... stroll around the garden... patrolling..." She blushed fiercely, not believing what she just suggested.

Buras handed his banner off to one of his House guardsmen. He couldn't be expected to hold it for the entire banquet, he needed both hands to eat after all. He quickly look around for that wolf man, saw that he wasn't there, and didn't really care. All he really wanted to do was fight him, something he could not do at the current time. Unless he caused something to happen, but then that would put his Lord in a bad light. And that was something he would not allow happen, not if he could help it. So he was stuck in the dinning hall, a goblet in his hand and a predatory aura coming from him. He could kill all these lordlings right now, he could have killed some of them on his raids. And their guards were soft, most looking like they have never even seen a battle. To him they were little more then decoration, wearing armor polished to a shine and with not even a scratch on them. Their position was what got them there, he was willing to bet, the son of some lord or another who wanted to increase his own status by saying his children were in the royal guard. Oh they were taught to use a sword, and the rules of fighting. The thing is, there are no rules when in a fight besides kill or be killed.

Leon turned and faced his sister, he did his best to try not to smile but a small one periced through his cold wall. Another thing he silently cursed at. Leon turned away and began walking to the door gesturing for his older sister to follow him. "Very well my beloveded sister the garden it is."

"Yes, a nice long patrol around the gardens of Verlais. Much like we did after the tournament no? Except I'm not bleeding profusely this time." He added as a joke at the end before standing and offering his rough, battle hardened hand to her. "And people consider me a barbarian. They aren't wrong...but even I can be gentlemen with the appropriate lady." He jested. Fenrir's eyes flicked to entrance of the party and he noticed the prince and Princess of Verlais leaving the party together. Some kind of discussion they wanted to have in private no doubt.

She took his Hand and smiled, however the blush she grew to know that well returned. Then, she noticed the prince and princess. She knew they wanted to talk in private. That was nothing new. Jeanne did not know what they would be doing, she had a bad feeling. But she trusted them and after all, they were like siblings to her. "Don't let them see us.", she muttered, the small frame of the surprisingly strong woman pulling Fenrir around a corner. "They want privacy anyways.", she murmured. She stood awfully close to the man, getting both, a nice and a uncomfortable feeling through it. She blushed more and looked away. "D-dont think I stood like this on purpose...", she muttered and before he could reply, she would pull him further so they would start a nice little walk.
