Rosegarden High

"Felicity? Oh she had to get her snacks out of the microwave. Guess food it's all it takes for her to leave" Markus laughed slightly. "Plus, we are just friends, there's nothing going on betwee-" Somebody knocked on the door. "Guys? Guys are you there? Don't ignore me!" Felicity yelled. Markus was quiet surprised and turned towards Sky. "She is like Beetlejuice, we said her name way too many times." He stood up and proceeded to open the door. Felicity walked into the room, a bag of hot snacks of her hand. She looked at Sky. "Well, it seems our Prince Philip was able to wake Sleeping Beauty up!" She said before sitting down on the chair where Markus was sitting before.

Skyler gave Felicity a confused look. "Prince Philip? Sleeping Beauty? I don't understand. Did you forget our names?" Once more sitting up on her bed, she pointed to the snacks in Felicity's hands. "Do you mind if I have one? I need to replenish my energy before I have to go to the yard." Looking down at her hands, she quickly added. "You don't have to give me one. I'm used to going without food." Taking a deep breath, Skyler shut her mouth before she said more then she intended.

Felicity looked down at the bag and then back at Sky before sighing. "Oh stop trying to sound modest. You just end up looking way too silly." She passed Sky the bag full of snacks. "Eat them before I change my mind." Markus chuckled. "Aww, look who has a kind soul after all!" Felicity turned towards him, frowning. "Oh so you are a funny man? Let me remind you that we sleep in the same room"

Skyler laughed as she accepted the bag. "Stop the awkward flirting already, guys." She teased them both, ripping into the bag of snacks with ferocious speed. The food disappeared as quickly as it came, causing Skyler to let out a satisfied breath. "That was good." She stated simply, shooting a grateful smile at Felicity. "Thank you, really. Both of you. I've never really had a friend before so..." She flushed.

Felicity sighed as she took the empty bag and threw it into a wastepaper basket. "There you go again, acting all modest." A very small smile appeared on her face. "But I am glad I made two new friends." Markus chuckked. "I guess you have a soft heart after all Felicity." He turned towards Sky. "Did you seriously have no friends before we arrived?"

(Sorry for the lack of color, in my cellphone)

Skyler shook her head slowly. "I've never had a friend before... ever. My black magic drove people away. They were scared of it, of me." She looked up at the pair of them, a weak smile on her face. "I don't want to jinx it by asking, but... you aren't scared of me, are you?" She looked back down. "When I lost control, I couldn't tell who was friend and who was foe. My shadows attacked everyone... including you two. I'm really sorry about that guys... I hope I didn't hurt you."

Felicity crossed her arms, as she usually does, and closed her eyes. "While you may have almost killed us with your shadow creatures I can't really blame you for losing control." She reopened her eyes. "I myself have committed various mistakes while attempting to control my power, like creating a huge wave on a public beach." Markus smiled. "Me too. I was the reason why a whole city went on a full blackout for a good hour." Felicity looked at him and chuckled before looking back at Sky. "The point is that we are on the same boat here. All of us. You are allowed to make mistakes, after all we do learn from them. So no, we aren't scared of you. Right, Markus?" Markus nodded. "Right"

Skyler took a few deep breathes to try and avoid crying. "Thanks guys." She said in a thick voice as she struggled to control her emotions. After a minute or so of silence, she let out a sigh and stood up, a bit shakily. "I think its best I get my punishment over with." Heading to the door, she hesitated. "While it was nice of you two to come encourage me during the fight, I suggest the two of you stay here. You don't want to see this, I promise."

Felicity quickly stood up, but Markus stopped her from chasing after Sky. He turned towards her. "Look, I can't say I agree with your thinking, I am actually completely against it, but I know you aren't an idiot. I trust you Sky. But before you leave I want you to know something. If you return here crying I swear I may not be able to hold myself back against the people who did that to you. Okay?"

Skyler kept her head down. "I'm sorry, Markus, but I can't let you do that. You'll die if you challenge any of the teachers. I need you to promise not to attack them. Both of you." She started directing her words to both Markus and Felicity. "Don't attack anyone unless they attack you first. Don't attack the teachers, even if they attack you. They will kill you. Please, I'm begging you." She let out a deep sigh. "I will come back bleeding and crying. You can be angry all you want. But I don't want to cause your deaths." And with that she exited the room, closing the door firmly behind her.

Markus glared at the door before punching the wall. "Dammit! Why does she have to be so calm about this?...Doesn't she realize she will get hurt for something she should have done?" Felicity sighed. "I do actually agree with you, but there' nothing we can do about it. You can't change a person's mind...." Markus looked a bit sad. "I know I can't..." Felicity stood up and sat on the bed. "Come on then, sit next to me. At least we can talk to keep our minds busy." Markus was a bit reluctant at first but then proceeded to sit next to her.

An hour passed, and then another. Finally a heavy hand landed on the door, making it shudder in its frame. The door opened, sending Skyler stumbling in. Her body was covered in blood, but she didn't make a sound and there were no tears in her eyes. "I'm... back guys..." She managed to get out, her hand leaving a trail of blood on the door as she slid to the floor. "I... didn't cry... Markus..." She whispered, leaning her head back against her bed and closing her eyes. "I... didn't want... you to... get hurt..." Her voice trailed off as she fell unconscious.

Markus and Felicity stood up and looked shocked as Sky stumbled onto the bed. Felicity placed her hand on her mouth to while Markus's eyes slowly became teary. "....You idiot! Why did you have to do this!?" He yelled at the unconscious Sky. Felicity placed a hand on his shoulder. "What's done it's done...We must help her now..." Markus furiously wiped the tears off his eyes, but he was still pretty sensible. "Leave the room for now, I am going to clean her bloody body. You go outside and get her some food...I will tell you when you can re-enter" Markus remained still for some seconds before nodding and leaving the room.

Skyler slowly awoke as Felicity bathed her body, stirring slightly. "Fel...icity?" She said slowly, her head whirling. The blood loss was affecting her thought processes, making even simple things hard. "Where's... Markus?" Her stomach heaved and she struggled not to throw up. Then her room would never be clean. Blood she knew how to get rid of. "I'm... sorry..." She murmured, giving up and closing her eyes again. "I'm.. getting blood... on you..."

Felicity rolled her eyes. "I noticed, so you better appreciate what I am doing for you. Keep your eyes shut" She grabbed a bucket full of icy cold water and threw it over her. "Oh, and Markus went outside to look for some snacks for you, he should be back soon enough." Felicity stared at Sky's wounds. "What did they exactly do to you...?"

Skyler struggled to focus on the blue haired girl's words. "I believe that I was tied down and cut over a hundred times. Shallow to cause pain, not damage." She spoke slowly, her memories hazy as she sorted through them. The cold water helped a little even as it burned in her cuts, allowing her to gather the strength necessary to sit up. "Well, it could have been less then a hundred." She corrected. "It was hard to count." Should she mention that she had been in worse pain before, with her father? No, that would only hurt Felicity and Markus more. Best keep quiet about the other punishments she had been subjected to. She was used to hurt by now.

"Almost like if you were an animal..." The door of the room opened as Markus began to step in. "Hey guys, you in here?" He asked. "We are in the bathroom!" Felicity answered. "Okay then! I will wait for you two here." He sat down while resting the stuff he got next to him. "I was able to secretly grab a med kit from the nursery." Felicity looked at the wounds. "Good...Okay Sky, I am done cleaning you. You take your time to dry yourself while I look at what Markus brought." She left the bathroom and sat next to Markus.

Slowly testing her body to see if it worked properly, Skyler managed to cautiously stand up. Grabbing her towel she dried herself gingerly, gently patting down her wounds. Wrapping the towel around herself, she stepped out of the bathroom and managed to get to the bed without falling. "Thank you for the med kit Markus." She spoke, tucking in her towel to avoid looking him in the eyes. She didn't like the fact that she had hurt him, even if it wasn't her fault. "Just bandages will be fine for most of the cuts, only a few might actually need stitches." Raising her head, she offered the both of them a weak smile. "Either of you know how to sew?"

Markus and Felicity momentarily looked at each other before looking back at Sky. "Um...I sometimes sew clothes up, is that sort of the same or..." Felicity quickly interrupted him. "That does it! Markus will sew while I wrap the wounds up!" Markus sighed deeply. "Damn you Felicity...Um...Show me the wounds that need stitching Sky..."

Skyler chuckled weakly at Felicity and Markus before turning around so her back was facing them. "There should be a big one right down the middle of my back..." She said as she dropped the towel low enough so Markus could see what he was doing. "Felicity, you can start wrapping the wounds as well, make it tight so that it stops the blood flow, but not so tight that you cut off the circulation to the rest of my arm." She instructed the both of them in a soft voice, not moving an inch as she awaited the pain of her wounds being sewn up.

Markus looked at Sky's naked bath and a slight blush appeared on his face. Felicity noticed it and proceeded to punch him on the arm. "Seriously Markus?" He laughed nervously "Hey, I may be a coward, but I am still a guy..." Felicity frowned. "If you keep being such a Peeping Tom then trust me your masculinity will be soon gone." Markus swallowed saliva before sitting down next to Sky and began to sewing up the biggest wound with delicacy while Felicity began to wrap up the smaller ones.

Skyler blushed furiously as she listened to their conversation but she didn't say anything because the moment she opened her mouth, Markus began sewing and she had to shut it again or risk crying. She swallowed hard as he finished with the first one, only speaking enough to direct him to the second large cut that needed to be stitched up. This process repeated twice more before Skyler examined the rest of her body and announced that there were no more cuts to be stitched up. "Thanks guys..." She said, her voice extremely soft as she suddenly felt exhausted. "No one's ever..." She yawned, "Ever helped me with my wounds before. I guess... that's what friends do..." Her voice lowered into a mumble as she practically fell asleep where she sat, not even bothering to lay down.

Felicity chuckled. "I can't blame her for being sleepy...She has had a tough day...Markus carry her onto her bed." Markus stiffened up as he turned towards her. "Huh!? Why me!? You do it!" Felicity crossed her arms. "I've been helping her more then you so it's your turn!" Markus couldn't argue. In a way she was telling the truth. Swallowing his remaining dignity Markus crouched over and picked up Sky. He was about to leave rest her on the bed. but then his concentration was caught by Sky's toweled up body. One could say he stared for way too much time as he suddenly noticed that small red drops began to fall onto her towel and arms. His nose was bleeding. Soon after noticing this Markus almost dropped her onto the ground, but she luckily landed on the bed. Behind her Felicity began to boil with anger. "MARK...US..." Not thinking about it twice Markus simply ran out the room. "I AM SORRY!" He was heard screaming out in the hallway. "Come back here you f*cking pervert!" Felicity ran out of the room and closed the door, chasing him down.

It was early the next morning when Skyler finally awoke, blinking in the morning sun. She stretched out, wincing as she felt all her cuts anew. Slowly getting dressed, she frowned at a few small drops of blood on her towel that couldn't have come from her, they were too small. Did Felicity attack Markus again? Shaking her head with a smile, she finished getting ready for the day ahead. Hesitating, she was about to leave but changed her mind, heading back to her suitcase. Biting her lip, she opened it and retrieved the one thing she had to remind her of her mother, aside from a ratty old picture. The moon necklace that her mother was wearing when she... Swallowing hard, Skyler fastened it around her own neck before exiting the room, heading over to Felicity and Markus's room.

Inside the room both Markus and Felicity were fast asleep. On his face, a purple bruise lay on Markus's left cheek, result of Felicity's punishment. A small trail of light that was peeking through the window, lighted Felicity's eye, who now began to awaken. She was barely up when she was able to notice the time. "Dammit....Hey...Hey Markus, wake up....Wake up!" He remained fast asleep. Felicity sighed and grabbed her pillow, throwing it at Markus's face, who quickly incorporated himself. "Huh?...What time is it?..." Felicity was already standing up. "Time to wake up and get changed..." Markus sighed and, after some minutes, they were fully changed and exiting the room.
