Rifts in Space

Yo, what does this mean?
1% of Population = at least 70,000,000 individuals
Percents dictate the size of the planet, so 100% is give or take Earth sized.

That being said, it also dictates how populated that planet can be.

So if you get a planet that is 50% (half earth size), you will only be able to populate it with about 3,500,000,000 people (50% x 70,000,000).

70,000,000 just represents the base number of people you can fit on a percent of land.

You may want to raise this number as an advantage or lower it as a disadvantage.

Also what might be an intersting idea, the Sith Empire or the Colicoids or Kiliks or if taking it older, the Rakatan Infinite Empire or the Hutt Empire (those who know about the Hutts, but not about the Hutt Empire. Yes, it was something).
I thought you wanted to do the mandalorians, though you are free to roleplay any nation you see fit.

The Mandalorians are interesting because of their culture.

The Rakatan because they were the first in Star Wars to use hyperdrives and because of their works (like the Starforge)

The Sith Empire because of Sith and Imperial Intelligence.

The Kiliks are a hive mind which also let others (Joiners) join their hives.

This roleplay has more-or-less been inspired by the 40k universe, lovecraftian novels, & the Rifts series. Basically I want to create an space exploration roleplay where just about anything can happen. Magic would exist outright, though that doesn't mean your nation would have to utilize it (though you may encounter it). You will pretty much take on the role of a nation, in a solar system with a single planet, as they have just gained the ability to go into space.
I already have just about everything ready, so I'll just post the character sheet below and see who is interested.

I'd be interested. I made a similar RP but it never got anyone on it because there was no RPers.

I'd be interested in working with this, My faction i invented was meant to be a series, and then my friend said he could make it a anime-esk thing but we never got to writing it. So i made it able to work in Rps. Most things in it are also 40k based. :3

Can we choose our starting planet's climate? Since it would largely influence a majority of a faction? Already have a little cool backstory for the arid(?) type planet named Spire my Insectoids settled, who call themselves the 'Qwawt.'

The Qwawt came to Spire inside a massive meteorite, which, upon impact, made extinct much life of the planet, terraforming the world into a vast, arid wasteland.

A year later, the first drone breached the shell of their Ark, flooding the changed land with their kind; soon, new Queens were born and kicked out to make colonies of their own, but despite the many miles they all privately journeyed, not one forgot their homeland.

For the centuries that followed, war ravaged the land, Queens fought over what each claimed was their birthright, the great rock which fell from the sky. Rumored to hold the answers of their species' existence, great weapons of war, supplies of water, food...

One, was successful. Not because of numbers or might, but for her caring for her born Queens, protecting, teaching, and raising them, forsaking tradition for a chance at a unified world, an end to the ceaseless, mindless war, and answers on how they came to be...

She succeeded.

Quick question, would the size of your species, their biology and habits, and other such things change how many people can live in whatever amount of space? Most of the living space for my Qwawt would be really packed with thousands of others, some actually sleeping on other Qwawt. They are a little shorter than the average human too, requiring shorter ceilings.

Can the planet to bigger than earths? I am not sure if that was already answered, but I mean i could start on a very smaller planet like earth no problem just need to add lore for that. But i am just curious to know. @Sohisohi

Your starting planet climate and geology is up to you, same applies to the moon. Even the star in your system.
Maybe, I'll make suggestion and offer advice if it is needed in that regard though I don't think this will be an issue in your case.

Well, since you have a moon, I will let you move percents from it. Though, you could always just give yourself a larger planet at the cost of something else.

@Sohisohi. Random question time.

1) How big is the Galaxy?

2) How far apart will the different factions be?

3) Are there AI planets, factions, and groups of planets?

4) How do you earn further pts for your nation's stats?

5) Will this play largely like the other turn based nation builders around here? People saying what their nation does within certain categories?

6) Are the agents inspired by the Total War Series?

7) Is there an overall story?

8) Will there be space anomalies/locations? Nebulas, comets, black holes, ect?

9) Can you harness the energy of stars?

10) Are there space whales?

*random question time over, begin random suggestion time*

You should recruit a Mod. I don't really want to be one, but seeing the amount of people interested it may be overwhelming for you to moderate everything on your own. So. Keep that in mind.

Should make a map of the Galaxy? Or make individual maps of our solar systems? Get someone on that maybe.

A lore tab for the factions if the RP for this goes up. So everybody can at least KNOW what the species/nation they are fighting look like.

1. Infinite, theoretically. I'll be using spreadsheets, with your system at the center. So the galaxy/map is generated as you expand outward.
2. No clue, as you explore into new systems you have a chance of encountering life. If that life is space fairing, I'll roll to see if it is NPC or a roleplayer. So you may run into another faction turn one or you may never.see another faction.

3. Their will indeed be NPC factions, though their tech levels will vary greatly. Also, I'll likely offer people the ability to roleplay as Randoms. So, if someone want's to roleplay but they are unsure then I will allow them to roleplay as an encountered NPC faction so they get a chance to see if they like this roleplay.

4. These points are prestige points, which are gained by claiming wonders (i.e. settling worlds where intelligent came about, rare worlds, or holding the most territory in a rare system).

5. Pretty much. We have a back and forth via OOC, once you've come to a final decision, you post your nations action in the IC. Their will eventually come a time when you may face-off with another roleplayer, when that happens, our OOC conversations will be moved to messages. That being said, I don't want to deal with 6 or more different formats. Allowing you all the ability to see how each roleplayer interacts with me, will allow some sort of uniformity to come out of our interactions.

6. Pretty much a copy and paste of Total War, in that regard. Just like in the game, it is mean to give you much more direct influence.

7. No, this is straight faction building. It's why I insist that you roleplay as nations just getting the ability to travel to other systems. Starting from, effectively, the bottom as you work your way up to an empire allows your faction to evolve in a natural manner as it grows. That being said, once a good number of you have encountered eachother I'll likely start creating larger events. Think of the Mongol or Ottoman Empire as it swept into Europe.

8. Yes, I more-or-less see this roleplay as several universes colliding into eachother. Which has created a new kind of space, though this new space pretty much functions the same with the exception that blackholes can also act as stars as opposed to entities that just ripe everything apart with their gravity and the effects of living in different gravities will have little to almost on effect on most species.

9. Solar energy will still be a thing.

10. This is more mid-game stuff, but you may indeed encounter god-like great intelligences like Cthulhu or Godzilla similar to what I mentioned in 7.

A great deal of the mechanics are not posted, which, granted, is my fault for not posted the IC yet. Ultimitly, I'm not sure if I'll be able to coordinate well with a mod.

Both systems that cover this already exist, I just need to post them under Overview once I get the IC up.

Information will be given to you via your agents actions and/or scouting missions.

Hmm, alright, I'd rather you not roleplay as a fully established empire as this will likely create imbalances. If you choose to go this route, I'll have to lower the chances of you randomly meeting another roleplayer (so as to keep you from just steamrolling them). To roleplay as one of these faction, I'll likely have to let you start with extra worlds/systems (and likely, even extra tech). Though, in this case, the disadvantage is that your roleplay experience will be very one-x-one for a while.

So would we just send you the nation sheets and you take information from that, depending on what other nations actually scout, to reveal? I'm actually really hopeful for this, even though I've only started making up my little bug world's lore since I first asked to be a bug empire. Basing it a little off the Geonosians, Formics, and then adding a cup of Pat flavoring.

You really need to consider recruiting a mod though to help moderate turns. The benefits could make or break the RP depending on how many people join. Unless you have a crazy amount of time during the weekends which I assume you plan to moderate the turns during.

You have no idea what the Formics/Geonosians are! You forgot about the scathing of China!

Ironicly, the Rakatan ended into barbaric tribes

The Hutts as a criminal organization

The Kiliks don't have an empire. They were from Alderaan. But are also isolationists (a bit)
