I am fine with fast forwarding over the decimation of the vampires and moving on to the road to New York and eventually Germany.

Psychie As ever, I find myself curious for details to aid my decision making.

This adventure concerning Jake Turner and the vampires of Turner Town is not an adventure you have made up, correct? You did not plan for this?

But the adventure from Florida to New York is more prepared?

I have more stuff for encounters planned for the multi legged journey than just the fight with the vampires. All of this is just a stepping stone to get you to some fun gargoyle/vampire shenanigans in the NGR. Either way I'm ready to go. I just need a sense of what everyone wants to do.

Psychie O.K.. Being a Game Master myself, I find myself wanting to enjoy content that you've already created. Also, I don't want you to have to make up new content (have I said this before? My brain's not quite right now. Forgive me if I'm repeating myself).

Okies! I will go with the fast-forwarding of the liberation of Turner Town then.

Should this aid you, I see Dreamy's role in such a liberation to be that of a scout and specialist. Being a Ninja Undead Hunter, I imagine she would learn as much as she could about Turner and Co. while advising the rest of the team make best use of the enemies vulnerabilities while watching out for their strengths.

By this, I mean their habits, their routines, contacts, and the like. Perhaps we create a diversion that involves the dinosaurs to draw away the bulk of Turner's human forces in a daytime strike while we nail their coffins (pun intended) or take them on where they are weakest all coordinated ala Ghost in the Shell style? Stuff like that.

Just ideas.

Considering that you have three of the four vampires' nests located, how do you want to proceed? Split up and take them on all at once, stick together and hit them as a group, or something completely different? Don't forget that Jake is still hidden during the day.

Sherwood Eonivar GunMan2 Eternal Alchemist (Alchie hasn't been on in over two weeks; my best goes out to him and whatever situation is keeping him away).

Friends, I don't think there is hardly any reason to go after these bodyguards if the Big Cheese makes the getaway. What do you think?

Over the course of the next two weeks, everyone is very busy getting the repairs done and some needed scouting out of the rumored vampires in Turner Town.

As far as Dreamy is concerned, Turner is the target. I feel underestimating him is, at minimum, expensive folly. To hit his bodyguards only to lose him to escape here is to quite possibly see him go free and, years in the future, return to Turner City, Florida or worse, much to the continued sorrow of innocent families and the community at large. I don't believe Turner got to where he is from luck alone - he put his mind to it.

As GunMan's Takuma seems bent on doing, is the option of trying to learn more a reasonable thing at the moment? Or... put another way, do our current circumstances seem to allow a 72-hour pure investigation/infiltration splurge if you will? I'm talking about the combined use of all of her martial art powers, Blind Warrior Woman abilities, and ninja Undead Hunter skills and techniques, items, etc. to learn all that can be learned about Turner's strengths and weaknesses, tactical advantages and disadvantages, resources, habits, routes, favorite contacts, feeding places and people (I find it hard to believe that he and his are living off of dinosaur blood), etc..

I'm just getting over a... highly-inconvenient case of food poisoning which came with headaches/migraines, insufficient and often-broken sleep, and more but I'm glad to be closer to full strength again. In just a few more days, I should be fine. Posting was the last thing on my mind then, but I'm getting some in today!

Oh dear! food poisoning is the worst, especially if it brings along symptoms of the non-gastrointestinal sort. like, stay in your lane, there's no need to give migraines. but i'm glad you're at the end of it, and i hope your recovery is swift!

It's been a little rough as of late, I've been going through a weird mix of things both going really wrong and really wonderful at the same time. when it rains, it pours, but the rainbows are bright, at least!

Terrific! With Psychie, we have her very first Rifts game (not nearly at the level of Epiphany's, but lots of fun!). She's also got her longer-running Exalted 3.0 game (which might be full due to its popularity)?

For once, I am currently not involved in any games Sherwood is running (our last one closed down a little while ago)... and doesn't that feel odd to say given how far we go back? =)

Check with either of them and maybe they can hold a spot for you in a future game?

Ol' Pips hasn't been on since late June when she vanished for the Rifts game, 13th Mystery, we all got together in. I'll always wonder what the 13th Mystery was. I wish the best for her too. What a cool gal! =)

I don't mean to imply spots are open - I mean to recommend you to Psychie or Sherwood so that they can make that call. While I imagine one or both of them are open for new players in one of the games they're running, I don't know that for certain. The best way to find out? Just what we've done; tagging them and asking! =)

What is Castle Faulkenstein? What is it about the realm that makes it so that it sounds like you'd have to rewrite it just to post it here on the best website ever made, RP Nation?

Alas, poor you, I fear you have just triggered a rant on a hyperfixation.
Castle Faulkenstein is a card-based (It would probably have to become dice-based to function on this site, but someone already made dice-based rules) TTRPG set in a fantasy version of 1870s Europe. featuring: funky alternate history, the fae courts, local mythology, court intrigue, a steampunk industrial revolution, dwarves, elves, his Imperial Majesty Emperor Joshua Norton the first of the United States (actually just California but like- cool enough), Abe Lincoln being both not dead and a vampire hunter. but unfortunately, the author wrote himself in as a weird cringy isakied protagonist with a Mary Sue girlfriend, had no knowledge of left-wing politics of the era outside of the Paris commune and the name Karl Marx. and the swooning rules. and the pro-imperialist energy, and the racially loaded terms used to describe Africa and Asia. And the objectification of all female characters. and blaming an Aztec curse for the Reconquista. did I mention the misogyny and objectification of women? I know It's the 1870s, but dude, you should know better.

So I'm re-writing the thing to be.... not having racist undertones and sexist overtones. it's a fun side project. (:

That being said, I can absolutely fit you into the game here, so long as you understand the basic rule of no evil characters allowed. What kind of character tickles your fancy? A mage? A robot pilot? Some bizarre DBee?

after a skim of the sheets and the game so far, it seems like yall are a party that has been traveling for eight months, you're in debt to a blood sucking greedy town ruler who, as it turns out, actually sucks blood. and you're going to New York City? (ah, Emma Lazarus. wonderful poet, In Exile is probably my favorite of her writings.) now, it might be a little tough to retcon in a whole new character and change the dynamic, but.... perhaps i will bring back the rogue scholar of the 13th mystery. Ellis Mandel, part two electric boogaloo? (of course, with some changes and tweaks made, and without their dear lover, but...)

what do you lovely folks think? would yall prefer a more combat oriented charictar?

For my own part, I would like to see someone that while may not be a combat monster, can hold their own in a fight well enough to keep you from running and hiding when the bullets start to fly. But so long as you are happy with your build, I won't complain!
