Might as well ask techno-wizardry questions in the meantime: While I searched through the spells, I stumbled across the teleport spells; and that got me thinking if it'd be possible to give an additional meaning to the Blind Warrior talismans we have right now. Let's say I manage to learn the lesser teleport spell at some point; would it be possible to enchant my armor in such a way that I can teleport close towards anyone wearing one of the amulets? I feel like it'd be stupid to have an unconditional teleport that does not demand an action itself, but I also like the idea of quick maneuvering to help out allies with shields, nets and whatever else I might learn one day.
That would be a cool idea for rapid battlefield support of one another. Someone is in trouble? Poof! There is an ally there, ready to lend a hand. Without checking the book, what level are the various teleport spells, and how far can they go?

Just rechecked after getting the initial idea - unfortunately, the one within reach (lvl6) can only transport non-organic stuff, so that'd be not much of a help. Superior teleport, on the other hand, is lvl 15... might have to postpone this one, I'm afraid. Perhaps, some adaptations could be made, given that I only want to teleport a few hundred meters, not the ridiculous range of 480km per level; or maybe there's a better spell to use somewhere out there, I'll have a look...

Heya friends! Palladium is having a 50% off Summer sale on a lot of their goodies (including Rifts goodies). Here's the link. Scroll down about halfway until you see
"NEW SALE! SUMMER MADNESS SUPER-SALE – ONE WEEK ONLY!"

It's been extended to Wednesday morning, July 3rd! =)

If I were to put forth a wish list, I would like to try to upgrade my Nova Rifle to a TW Force Cannon (Federation of Magic, pg 115) for 300,000, and I would like to try to get a melee weapon of either the Deathbringer Sword (Federation of Magic, pg 119) or a Battle Fury Blade (FoM, pg 119) both run in the 12-15 million credit range. Would either one of those weapons be available from Brazamal's list?

Silanon Silanon did we decide that you were going to be keeping the Staff of Power, or are we selling it?

Also, how are we going to divvy up the six Altarian Talismans? Is Vaneheart Vaneheart going to be getting one for Sir Dru?

Do you have a preference of which blade you would want? Getting one or the other is possible, and along with the Force Cannon, it will all but wipe you out of Terra's funds, leaving you only a handful of credits left.

Are you sure you want to spend so much on a couple of weapons? Especially with Terra's focus on being a Battle Controller? Not saying that you won't have opportunities to go melee with someone, but I'm just checking that you really want to go that route.

I appreciate the thought, but yeah, those two weapons of the Battle Fury Blade and the Force Cannon with a couple of extra PPE magazines would be fine for me.

Think I'd like to keep the staff for now - should prove to be useful. Random thought: I have one skillslot left open, and don't know how to use staffs yet - think someone who knows how to use 'em could teach Shaona a thing or two?

Don't think I'd want to spend too much money on equipment, my eyes are mostly on access to new spells; I'll check the options just to be sure, though.

Thoughts... =)

1. Psychie Psychie - Gradicus (and I) would be willing to provide Terra the TW Force Cannon he picked up if she would like it? I don't like the idea of Terra being nearly broke, even if it is her own idea...

2. Silanon Silanon - I'm glad the Powerstaff is staying in our party. Things like that are probably very, very hard to come by.

3. Kind of like the Blind Warrior Woman Talismans. I don't expect we'll see their like for a very long time (as I don't imagine we'll be going back to Atlantis anytime soon). Referring to an earlier idea, could we keep the 6 we've earned in the party? Perhaps give 2 each to Shaona, Terra, and Grad? And then when folks agree to join our party, we lend them one for as long as they are in the party (like Sir Dru)? That way, we keep them in the party and if someone decides to change characters, we don't lose a talisman - present PCs get to make use of them; retired characters hand them over to the next "generation". That way, each of us PCs benefit. What do you all think of that? Vaneheart Vaneheart

4. Having just read this thread, I must admit I have no idea what to get Gradicus with his share. As silly as this might sound from an OOC perspective, I'm seriously considering giving 1,000,000 credits to the refugees. Not because it will help us at all, but because that's what Gradicus (and I) would do. Sherwood Sherwood Beyond that, are his beloved swords "upgradeable"? Does Brazamal know someone who can improve Summertime and Wintertime somehow? Otherwise, I'm not quite sure what to do. Advice from any of you, please?

5. We also have spare arms (like the pulse laser rifles) and the Serpent Power Armor to think of. Shall we give Brazamal our first offer on it?

That's all I've got for now. Real Life calls. Have a good day, friends! =)

Think I'd want to keep the Blind Warrior Talismans as well - unless we somehow need the money really bad, I think they're better than having our money totals slightly higher.

Psychie Psychie Shaona has a knife version of the Deathbringer sword that has seen basically no use - given that she gets the staff, that one would pretty much be free for the taking. Or perhaps, it could pay for parts of the price of your preferred weapon?

Purr Purr I like the idea of donating something; don't think that'd be in Shaona's mind, given that some tech is expensive, but it suits Grad fairly well, I'd say; think I'd try to make it more than just a paycheck, perhaps arrange a deal with our draconic friend to get something specific for them. That way, you wouldn't just give away the money, but know what they'll get as a return. For example, pay for better defense systems to be installed there, just so that they'll be safer - gives them the same amount of value in the end, but we'll know that there's a safe haven to retreat to if we ever need one.

Shopping ideas for Grad. Found a bunch of goodies in Secrets of the Atlanteans.

1. Any or all all of the Atlantean crystal artifacts on page 137. They make useful tools. Like the Crystal Rod of Light and Hope (fires Lifeblast spell at the cost of 20 P.P.E., costs 375,000 cr., Secrets of the Atlanteans, page 138)
2. Communications Crystal (like a cellphone but with 3D holographic imaging, powered by P.P.E., more powerful on ley lines, Secrets of the Atlanteans, page 138). I like these as it seems they cannot be intercepted like common radio traffic. Perhaps everyone in the group could purchase one (assuming Sherwood allows these at all)?
3. Crystal Eye (x20 magnification, can record, can See the Invisible, Secrets of the Atlanteans, page 138)
4. Crystal Stun Mace (can stun S.D.C. and M.D. beings, and eventually knock them out Secrets of the Atlanteans, page 139).
5. Crystal Deflector Gauntlet (this one is nice! Acts as a shield, provides parry bonus, can parry bullets/energy weapons at -2 penalty, runs on P.P.E., Secrets of the Atlanteans, page 141.)

6. Some kind of portable P.P.E. battery(ies). (Grad goes through P.P.E. a lot...)
7. A portable, magical "Bag of Holding" or "Heward's Handy Haversack" from Dungeons and Dragons (or whatever the Rifts equivalent is). Carrying loot is good!
8. Laser Holographic Portable Computer (Triax LHP-1000). Game Master Guide, page 184. Great for identifying vehicles, robots, animals, D-Bees, insects, plants, and fruits, etc. Lots of things Gradicus does not know (and would love to learn).

9. Some way to improve his swords.

You have a couple of options available here. If Shaona is going to donate the blade, it can go towards the cost of a full-sized sword of either the Deathbringer or the Battle Fury Blade. Option two is to just give the weapon to Terra as is, and she can use the dagger version.

If you trade in the dagger, I'll give you credit of 10 million towards the sword of your choice.

As for the rest of your wish list:

9. Some way to improve his swords.
1. The items listed in the Secrets of the Atlanteans book are all fair game.

2. I will let you get a Communications Crystal, but only one per player.

3. Same here, but I know that Terra's Automations can already See the Invisible, and she can see through their eyes, so it may not be a high priority for her.

4. You can get a total of two of these.

5. Again, you can get two of these

6. PPE Batteries are a rare commodity, but the one place you can get them is in the Federation of Magic. I will assign a cost of 750,000 for a 50 PPE rechargeable battery, and 2,000,000 for a 100 PPE battery. Braz will be willing to sell you guys two of each crystal battery total, so decide who gets which crystal.

7. Bags of Holding are a staple of Role Playing Life. I will have to come up with a size and cost value for these, but yes, you will be able to get some.

8. No problem. Those computers are readily available.

9. In a old Pathfinder game I was in, or Storyteller was taking a set of magic items from his old DnD game of magic crystals that could be attached to a weapon to give it an elemental property of either fire, acid, electricity or cold. I will allow Gradicus to get some of these to boost your sword performance. These crystals came in three strengths, so I'll give you the choice of the same here.

The cheapest crystal will cost 500,000 and add an additional 3d6 MD damage to a weapon.
Next level up will be 1,500,000 and that will boost your damage by 6d6 MD.
The highest level will be 5,000,000 and increase your damage by 1d4x10 +10 MD.

You can buy multiple crystals and swap them out, but only one can go on a weapon at any time.

If you trade in the dagger, I'll give you credit of 10 million towards the sword of your choice.
I would still like the Battle Fury Blade, so if everyone (mostly Silanon Silanon ) is ok with it, I'd trade the dagger for the discount, making the cost 3-5 million for the balance.
6. PPE Batteries are a rare commodity, but the one place you can get them is in the Federation of Magic. I will assign a cost of 750,000 for a 50 PPE rechargeable battery, and 2,000,000 for a 100 PPE battery. I would be willing to toss in the cost of one of each of these, since I will not have to pay full price for the sword I want. That puts my out-of-pocket cost at about 6 million.

Would one of these crystals work on the swords of my Automations? That would really boost their effectiveness in combat.

That works for me, assuming it is ok with everyone.

I will go ahead and give you the three for the total of the 6 million credits.

Are you sure you wouldn't want a second Starfire Pulse Cannon instead? For a duplicate of the one you already have, I would charge you a even 1,000,000 for it, the power cells and the modifications to be useable by Junior. But if you really want one, I'll let you pick up one of them.

Cool beans! I hadn't even thought of doing that. Sure! I'll go for a second cannon, which gives us more of a ranged punch for much less than a crystal, and I still have 8 mil left over for the other goodies. Let me check my copy of the Secrets of the Atlanteans book to see which crystals I'd like and how much they are.

Ok, here is my wish list:
Battle Fury Sword with the trade-in and the two PPE Batteries for 6 million
One Starfire Pulse Cannon with its load of batteries for another 1 million
One Communications Crystal: 40,000
A Crystal Healing Wand: 275,000
A Crystal Rod of Light: 375,000
The TW Force Cannon and two magazines for 380,000
A Crystal Eye: 90,000

My current total is at 8,160,000

Grats, Psychie!

I have two questions, then I have to go to bed and I'll see the answers tomorrow. Then I'll try to provide a list of my own.

1. Concerning the crystals, of all the elements listed there, which element has the least amount of resistance has out there? Meaning, which is most effective overall? There are number of bad guys in mecha that have resistances to fire, but I don't know about electricity or cold. I don't think I've seen anything that's resistant to acid or is there?

2. What about the Serpent power armor? Is Brazamal interested in buying that?

Also, regarding the max of the four PPE batteries. I would assume that Grad gets one of the 100 PPE ones, since your tats take up so much of your energy. I am willing to go with a 50 PPE one, leaving Shaona to have either a 50 or 100 PPE battery. If Silanon Silanon doesn't want one, I'll upgrade to the 100 point one.

Oh, and Vaneheart Vaneheart ? Could Grad purchase a Communications Crystal for Sir Dru? And perhaps a couple of inexpensive items for him?

1. I would say that either the electricity or the acid one would be most effective. There are few people/monsters that come to mind that have a strong resistance to either one of those.

2. Brazzy will be willing to offer you 50 million for the Serpent Armor.
