Sherwood Sherwood Two questions for our good-time-giving Game Master.

1. Do Mega-damage creatures gain M.D. from selecting Physical skills? In other words, do the "+1d6 to S.D.C." become M.D. or is there no benefit whatsoever?

2. (This one is a bit deeper.) Snowfall has a Dimensional Teleport tattoo that allows himself and up to 200 lbs. of gear or people to travel with him. However, I did not take into account Terra's 3 automatons when I chose this.

There is another dimensional tattoo, I don't remember the name, that allows a two-way transport that's not based on weight via a Rift. However, it costs 400 P.P.E. to cast (plus, if memory serves, 1d8+4 temporary P.E., but that's not a worry).

Now, I think you are more familiar with Rifts magic than I am. My character is not going to have that much personal P.P.E. ever. P.P.E. batteries or something he doesn't have, and I cannot count upon the team being near a ley-line or a rift in order to get more energy to cast this.

So, can others donate P.P.E. the way the NPCs did in Brazamal's company? Otherwise, how is the spell supposed to be cast?

Lastly, if the answer turns out to be feasible, do you mind me swapping these tattoo spells out? I cannot imagine casting this spell with Terra's automatons in the group, but if that's the way it must be (unless Snowfall is able to come across that tattoo some other way), I'll respect it.
1. I believe that according to the strict letter of the rules that the answer would be 'no', but the amount of SDC/MDC that we are dealing with is so small I will go ahead and allow you to get the effects of the MDC from the various physical skills.

2. Once again, I am thinking that the nature of the tattoos prohibit the user from being able to power the tats by getting PPE from other people. But, that being said, I will allow the swapping of the powers and that you can benefit from the PPE being offered up freely from a willing host. I do not expect that you would be wanting to try a sacrifice of an unwilling donor.

1. Wow! Thanks! That's generous! *adds 'em up* Would you roll 12d6 + 2d4 for me, please?

2. Oh, you have me pegged right on the money - I don't think I've yet played a PC that would be willing to sacrifice an unwilling donor. But yeah, I initially dismissed the power thinking, "Where in the Megaverse am I going to come by 400 P.P.E."? Now, should we want or need to, we can "get there" (wherever "there" is, per our earlier Conversation about where you want to take the game). That's pretty exciting! =)

Acrobatics (1d6)
Boxing (3d6)
Demon Wrestling (4d6)
Gymnastics (2d6)
Pressure Point Control Tactics (1d6)
Running (1d6)
Tumbling (2d4)
= 12d6 + 2d4

Sherwood Sherwood Okies. Dimensional Teleport has been swapped with Energized Dimensional Portal with notes added to it. =)

Energized Dimensional Portal -- Opens two-way door to another dimension, can choose familiar or random realms. 405 P.P.E. + 1d4+8 P.E. points for 1 minute per level. "Crossing Ley Lines with an Open Rift"

... instead of...

Dimensional Teleport -- Teleport self and 200 lbs. per level of people/goods touched to a known dimension. 86% chance of success (Base 20% + Voyager + experience level + I.Q.) . Cost: 200 + 1d4+4 P.E. points (or 125 P.P.E. and 12 P.E. points). "Silhouettes of People Inside an Opened Rift"

Purr Purr does ISP count? I'm not sure the details of the stuff. Or if Daisy has PPE. But either way, you are welcome to them! I have more than I would ever need.

Ooh! What a terrific number for a "Hitchhiker" like Snowfall! Thank you, Sherwood!

D., except in the rarest of GM-approved circumstances, I don't believe P.P.E. and I.S.P. are compatible.

Lol thought I'd offer! They both had a P in them, and I dont know what they do yet.

I can smell your magic though.

Thanks for the offer! Daisy, being a dog girl (does that make her a "bitch"?) better be able to smell more than that! Mystic China states that a Dog Boy has a shot at sensing a Fox Spirit even in their Positive Chi form (invisible, intangible "cloud" form). Now if that's not cool, I don't know what is!

After all this, I want to play more Rifts! 8D

I just wish I could get more magic tattoos for Terra. Theoretically, I can get two more before she is 'transformed' into an MDC being, and there are so many cool powers that I'd like to get. But I comfort myself with the knowledge of my three Automations, and I feel better.

Heya Psychie! What's stopping Terra from getting two more?

I will ponder what kind of cost that may be involved in getting you a new tattoo.

What I'm asking is - how? Can we find Terra a Chiang-ku dragon (the creators of tattoo magic for those who don't know) or what's involved in getting a Battle Magus more Atlantean ink on her skin?

There must be more than just the Chiang-ku dragons that know how to apply the tattoos; otherwise there wouldn't be enough of them around to work on all the Atlanteans out there. It could involve a trip to one of the Atlantean homesteads, but I would need to figure out if this would cost Terra a skill slot or just a 'I got it in game play' thing, so it doesn't cost her anything.

For a new tattoo, I would be willing to use a skill slot for it. At that point, it would just take someone willing to give me one.

I might be convinced to allow you the same benefit that I have given Dannigan, and say that you've had the tattoos on you the whole time and it is just now becoming active.

Do we really want to use skill slots for tattoos? I mean, given how far along we are level-wise, our new skills aren't coming again for... I think... many months or even over a year of Real Time. (I don't know about you, but Snowfall's O.C.C. next provides him a new skill at NINTH level!)

Good point. As I said earlier, I would have to come up with a fair mechanic to do this, assuming I do allow it.

But in the meantime... it's time for... Magic Hellllmet! 8D

Who knows? I may have to come up with a good reason to send you guys back to Atlantis and romp around there a bit!

I don't know if I'm up for returning to Atlantis (for me, it feels like we didn't leave very long ago, but we have new players who haven't been there).

But yeah, whatever (or wherever) you're comfortable with GMing, Sherwood! Now that there is a Tattooed Dimensional Voyager in the party, I say we go wherever you want! Rifts Japan? Wild West? Phase World? Vampire Kingdoms? Wherever! Atlantis was fun, but Atlanteans also hang out all over the Megaverse!
