Sure. We can go with that. As I said before, cost will depend on how fancy you want to get.

Hmm! Wait. Why roll to see if you're moving silently (Prowl) when your feet don't touch the ground? How much would 3 sets of footwear that allow limited flight cost (1 pair each for Terra, Sir Dru, and Bobo)?

How much would 1 pair of boots that added to Initiative and Saving Throws cost?

How about the dragon-fang daggers that do M.D. and Fire damage one can turn on and off? Say, 1D6 M.D. each? (These would mostly be used for tools and torches that don't go out.)

Let me see if I can find any comparable items and see how much they cost. If I can't, I'll come up with something.

Sure! I'll check tomorrow so please take your time. =)

Purr Purr Maybe determined is not the right word - or maybe it is, I dunno. What I mean is that, simply by being Atlantean, you get a package of different responsibilities and such. The honor of your clan, your way of living, the Splurgoth as archenemies that need to be purged. I think that this works damn well for Terra and Gradicus, but I think I would not necessarily want to carry the weight of those bonds with me. The characters I'm envisioning right now would be mostly unattached other than the bonds they chose for themselves; not sure if that makes any sense, I tried - I'll try again, too, if that doesn't answer the question.

As for the character sheet: Liza Kreuzer
Be warned, it doesn't do her justice, just like most of my character sheets. It doesn't say that she speaks with the dead, or that she allowed a ravaging hydra to stay alive so that it may better its ways (spoiler: it didn't work).

Edit: It's probably a good idea to have Shaona join Gradicus in his travel to Brazamal - that'd be the right place for her to move in a different direction, after all. Right now, I'm focused on possible new character ideas, but I'll get a post for her up at some point as well.

1. Re: Determined. I think I get it now. (Side note: While Splugorth are up there, it's vampires that are at the top of the True Atlanteans' hit-list.) I think it's worth noting that there are some True Atlanteans like Gradicus that are determined to actively hunt down bad guys, there are a number of folks (more like Terra) who are just out to do their thing but come extra-prepared for vampires and the like. In other words, while I think True Atlanteans are good gals and guys, I think it's the O.C.C. they select that really decides just how determined (or not) they are. Many True Atlanteans are just explorers, travelers, and wanderers. Some don't want to take Atlantis back at all. There are selfish evil True Atlanteans who use Shadow Magic to foul their foes. There's even an O.C.C. (Sunaj Assassin) where the character is like a combination of assassins using Shadow Magic and badasses straight out of Assassin's Creed (video game).

I'm not saying this to try to sway you to play one; I just really want what I learned reading Secrets of the Atlanteans to be mentioned here. I believe the long-lived cosmic Atlanteans, while mostly good-aligned, are largely what you make them. =)

2. Liza's Description is just terrific! What a cool way of combining one's gear with one's atmosphere and purpose! Well-written, Sil! Wow! Where'd she get the Fire Staff? It's neat!

3. Re: Shaona. Grad would be willing to drop Shaona off at Elder Brazamal's but she's getting a farewell hug from him. She's been too cool! Smoochie agrees so don't try to fight it! Ha ha! =)

4. I'm looking forward to whomever it is you'll be playing next. You make cool characters, Sil. =)

1. Thanks for the details on the Atlanteans - perhaps, my perspective is quite biased because both of you introduced me to the Atlanteans, didn't have the chance to meet them before; and I think both Grad and Terra make quite a good impression of what the honorable part of Atlantean society looks like. I saw the occ names on a list, but wouldn't have guessed that they could possibly be Atlantean =)

2. Thanks for the compliment - I certainly wrote that description on one of my better days. If I recall correctly, she found the staff in the hydra's treasure - was quite hyped when the entire group decided that Liza was the best one to have it, I'll be honest there.

3. I wouldn't want to let her leave without anything myself. She's been a damn fun character, and part of me still wants to find a way to make her work long-term - you know, find a plausible way to cut away the technowizard part that feels so hard to use properly, go for a slightly different version of her. Don't think that'd work, though, it's too much part of what makes her Shaona.

4. I'm trying, at least =) For now, none of my first concepts have completely convinced me. The star child I considered lacked a reason to be there, and a frost dragon hatchling I drew up lacked a reason to stay with the group long-term; both shared some similarities, though, so those will probably be the foundation for a third attempt.

Well, there are a lot of options out there to choose from, even more if you pick stuff from Heroes Unlimited (imagine a superhero Rifted in, trying to make the world a better place!) or the other dimension books like Psyscape. Take your time; we'll still be here.

Not the most interactive post, I reckon, but I felt like writing a post for Shaona this morning, and so I did. Took a few liberties in terms of the presence of some of her old gang, Sherwood Sherwood , hope that's alright - if there's anything that a knowledgeable man could tell me about some random robot pieces, that'd be appreciated, if not that's fine as well. Just thought I might as well give it a shot, and I feel like it's necessary for Shaona to meet her old companions to move on. No need to play the meeting out, necessarily, unless you feel like there's much to explore - I'd be fine with giving a brief summary once I meet with Gradicus.

I'm happy to go along with whatever suits you, SIl. =)

Purr Purr after a bit of searching, I have not found an item that already duplicates or actually is a boot that allows the wearer to hover a few inches off the ground. I am thinking it would be a lesser version of a Flight spell, since all it can do is lift you a few inches up. I am thinking that giving it an enchantment to do that would require the wearer to pump into it either 6 PPE or 12 ISP to activate the hover for a duration of one minute per level of the invoker. For two pairs of boots and one set of leg bands (for Bobo, Sir Dru and Terra), the cost would be 500,000 per pair, for a total of 1,500,000 for all three.

For the +1 to Initiative and +1 to Saving Throw added on for one pair, tack another 250,000 onto the cost, making a pair of boots for Gradicus with that cost 750,000.

For the fangs to make a 1d6 MD of fire based damage, that is a simple enough enchantment for the mages to do. 500,000 for one, or for a pair, you can get a discount for just 900,000.

Re: Fire fangs. Uh... I think Grad is at the wrong stall. That is... a ridiculous amount of credits for a 1d6 M.D. magical fire dagger.

How about instead of the fang/flame daggers, might they have something like the TW Flaming Daggers from the Book of Magic (page 319) handy? Those do 2D6 M.D., last two minutes per level of experience of the individual who activates it, costs 5 P.P.E. or 10 I.S.P. to activate and cost only 40,000-50,000 credits each with common/good availability (leaving Grad about 800,000 credits he didn't have to spend).

As for the boots, would it be possible to have the TW Flight System in Book of Magic (page 335) put upon boots and anklets? The cost for something like large vehicles is around 800,000 cr. while smaller vehicles average 550,000 cr. The Flight System's duration is 30 minutes per 15 P.P.E. or 30 I.S.P. invested with a maximum of 50 mph with a 10,000-foot ceiling. Also provides a +1 to parry and +2 to to dodge (only for human-sized and hovercycle-sized vehicles). So, if it costs 550,000 cr. on average for a Harley Davidson, it's got to cost a lot less just for a pair of comfortable civilian hiking boots/anklets. Right?

What are your thoughts here, Sherwood Sherwood ?

A reasonable argument all around. For the fangs, we can go with the TW Daggers.

I like the idea of the flight system for the boots. Just to let you know, I took a quick look at Psychie's sheet, and Terra already has a Tattoo for Flight, so you can save some more credits there. But Dru sure could use them!

And Bobo too, I'm sure. I guess it's safe to say that Gradicus has seen Terra's tattoos and knows about them? Thanks for letting me know about Terra; perhaps Grad can find something else for her.

So... how much for the Flight System to be put on the dragon anklets and boots for Sir Dru and Bobo, please? And how much for the TW fire daggers since Grad is supplying the fangs?

Also, after this is done, Grad and I have interest in checking out the Cyber-knight hangout next if that's all right? Grad hasn't been to one yet and is very likely to tell them about the Mechanoids, Sir Dru, and the Cyber-knights our team interacted with in the Coalition-based camp months ago.

Oh, and how much for a green candle for Shaona, please? =)

I will go with 400,000 to work the leather into a workable flight system/boot, and 30,000 for the fangs.

And we can toss in the green candle in for free, as a part of the large purchase you are making.

Deal. Thanks! So, 870,000 total (anklets for Sir Dru, boots for Bobo [sounds like a book title, doesn't it?], and the TW fire daggers. And green candle)?

(Joke time!) So, by chance is there a D-Bee T-shirt shop that sells two humongous-sized shirts for Baby and Junior, each with an arrow pointing at the other with letters in big, bold print stating, "I'm With Stupid!"?

No, really. Now Grad has to find something for Terra. He just can't come back empty-handed without something for his fellow True Atlantean.

In that case, Grad would go looking and buy three such shirts (if he knows that Terra will be able to command a third automaton)!

Could Terra use a Shadow Cloak (Book of Magic, page 333)? If the bad guys start going after her instead of her automatons, perhaps its Shadow Meld and Shadows of Death magic could help her evade danger? Grad would pay credits to see that happen.

Sherwood Sherwood Okies so... how about this?

There is enough dragon leather to make 4 sets of Boots With Flight System, right? So... Grad will buy 3 sets of boots and 1 set of anklets (he wants to wear one pair because he got the killing blow on the dragon and those boots can carry his "fire fangs"), the TW fire knives ("fire fangs"), and the green candle for Shaona.

If available, he'd also like to see if he can get his hands on a Shadow Cloak for Terra and see how much it goes for (200,000-300,000 cr. out of the Book of Magic) and those 3 "I'm With Stupid" T-shirts. Again, if you'll allow it?

Are you really going to get the t shirts? That really is funny. Other than that, it all works.

Oh yes! I think they would be a howl! If you'll allow it. How much for those and Terra's Shadow Cloak?
