Welcome to Alius Academy! Here we provide education for those with special gifts, gifts that makes conventional life something of a hassle. This place is far from any other facility, but we provide for every need and desire you could possibly think of! Ah, your unique needs? You need not worry, we will assist you to live an ordinary life however we can. And rest assured, you are not the only one with gifts . . .
-----------------------------------
The Academy
Alius Academy is a campus situated in the middle of nowhere. It is surrounded by forest, as well as a nearby lake, requiring a twelve-hour drive to get to the nearest city. This academy is so isolated because it is a place for those with mutations. No, not those with random powers like in "X-Men", but everyone here has some biologically explainable . . . difference, that makes ordinary living anywhere from mildly challenging to nigh-on impossible. The campus has every possible facility that could be needed, and has students ranging from pre-school all the way to college prep. Some students are found and offered an invitation, others are forced by their caretakers, still others come looking deliberately for the campus. One way or another, the academy strives to offer ways of "normal" living to those who are unique. Some see this as a blessing, while others view it as nothing more than a decorative cage. So what's you're story?
Facilities (Use as a Reference for Locations)
[Spoiler=Facilities]
Dorms
There are 6 separate dorm buildings on campus. Three for men, and three for women. These are separated by age category. Anyone below the age of 10 are put into the first set of dorms, which has full-time staff to watch out for the younger students. Older students may also volunteer to work at these particular buildings. Anyone ages 10 to 14 is put into the second set of dorms. These are less fully-staffed than the first set, but still have clock-round surveillance. Anyone above the age of 14 is put into the final set of dorms, which are for the most-part school governed by the older students. Each dorm room contains an ample living area, beds for two, a bathroom, and a small kitchen. In addition, most rooms are altered as occupants change, catering to the unique needs of each occupant. While the school does try and keep room mates within a year of each other, first and foremost they look for compatibility between mutations. In rare cases, students will be assigned a room outside of the dorm they would usually be assigned if a pairing of mutations works together in a living space well enough

Dining Facilities
For food there is court that contains several different varieties of restaurant services. These range from standard fast-food fare all the way to chinese or french cuisine. In addition, there is also a "grocery store" of sorts, that holds raw ingredients that students can take in limited quantities. These can be brought to the dorms, where students may fix their own meals with the kitchen provided. Students even have the option of installing a small "garden" area within their rooms, should they wish to grow fresh vegetables or similar.
Physical Activity Facilities
There is a massive gym on campus, with different facilities for every possible sport you could think of. This building also has several fields outside that are considered part of the gym. The gym includes no less than: A massive pool heated year-round, a full set of diving platforms, weight training room, boxing ring, training Dojo, full-sized track, multiple courts for every kind of ball sport (basketball, tennis, volleyball, etc.), a full football field, a baseball diamond, full gymnastics equipment, treadmills/other electronic work-out machines, and a playground. These are all open 24-7.
Entertainment
There are a few remaining buildings dedicated solely to entertainment purposes. These are mostly situated in two large buildings. One is essentially a giant shopping mall, with stores for clothes, games, stuffed toys, accessories, basically anything a student would want/need to go and get. The other two are more specialized, offering things like an arcade, a movie theater, etc
Medical and Technical Research Facilities
Often referred to by students as simply "The lab", this is easily the largest building on campus. It holds two stories above ground, but then holds another five beneath the surface. This building is a massive technological hub, holding the latest medical and testing equipment. It's primary use is that of a hospital, as the academy lies far from any medical help and most students have special operational requirements. It also is a place for study. Students will often have blood taken or have their DNA scanned, which is then examined here. This allows the academy to better understand the mutations of its student body. This is then utilized for their purpose of simulating a "normal" life as well as kept for possible medical needs.
Grounds
The grounds of Alius Academy are MASSIVE. It holds all the buildings described above with plenty of room for greenery and space. There are several walkways leading through groves of sorts, which many students like to relax upon. There is also a service by the lake which allows students to go out on boats for a set period of time. Alternatively, some just choose to swim in the lake. There is also a huge tree in the middle of campus. This is decorated during school events, and often a hub of student activity.
Faculty
The staff of Alius Academy is rather expansive, having multiple buildings to house all of them. These are generally hired personally by people close to the headmaster. A large portion of the academy's faculty are actually former students of Alius, choosing to stay and help those that followed behind them. There are basic cleaning and cooking staff, only the best, in addition to the expected educational staff. There are also several faculty members with connections outside, working with students to help get them on their hopeful career path. Finally, there is a sizable disciplinary staff, well-equipped to make sure any disruptive incidents can be quelled without it spreading. Many of these are alumni of the school, sporting their own mutations.
At the top of all this is the Headmaster, who nobody really knows much about. The only things known for fact about him are the following. One: He is very wealthy. Two: He has a significant amount of political power, as well as many connections. Three: When he wants something done, it gets done, no questions asked. But no student has seen his face or heard him talk.
Academy Rules
The Academy has a 253 page rulebook holding all the specific rules and regulations, specified in such a way that there are no uncertain terms. However, most students only really worry about the following:
-Nightly curfew: This is mostly for the younger populace, older students can stay outside in the late hours of the night, so long as they don't get into too much trouble. Younger members are expected to be in their dorms, and the youngest are expected to be asleep.
-Respect the staff: The faculty respect you, so respect them back. Foul treatment of the academy's staff are met with harsh punishment.
-Keep personal fights personal: Violence is of course frowned upon, but Alius academy knows it's impossible to stop all the scuffles that break out on campus. It is recommended that these be settled in one of the offered dojos or in an isolated area of the grounds, but keep them to yourself. There have been times where the disciplinary staff stepped in because too many people became involved.
-MOST IMPORTANT: You do not leave campus without expressive permission from the management staff. You must also be picked up by a recognized guardian, who is responsible for watching you while outside of campus grounds. Those who leave campus without permission are met with harsh punishment. Some who show blatant disregard for such rules are never heard from again.
Academy Activities
Educational functions are held Monday-Friday as you would expect. Higher grades have some flexibility with this, but it is normally the case. Every weekend there is a sporting event(s) of some kind, where students who practice on a regular basis form teams and compete while other members of the student body are free to watch. There is also the campus-wide athletics event. This occurs three times a year, where the educational facilities shut down for a period of one week while the entire student body engages in friendly competition. In december, there is a massive holiday celebration, where students are given two weeks off (should they wish it), as well as dancing, gift-giving, and an increase in the average student's body weight. Come spring, there is a celebration of the academy's founding that lasts for three days.
Roleplay Rules
-RPNation Site rules as always
-No god modding, metagaming, or bunnying
-You may make as many characters as you want, but they must all be active (I would recommend no more than three)
-Please keep both violence and romance to a PG-13 level. Nothing excessively gory, and please "fade to black" should nature take its course
-Mutations are exactly that. Mutations. They are not mystical, fantastical, or magical. While mutations may produce seemingly supernatural effects, every one is biologically explainable.
-Please avoid having the same mutations as other characters that have been accepted
-ABSOLUTELY NO REGENERATION! ALSO WE WILL ONLY ALLOW ONE AVIATION (all around) TYPE AND SHE IS TAKEN
