Realistic or Modern Redwood Boaring School for the Gifted and Troubled Youth

Shirayuri

Junior Member

Welcome to Redwood , the boarding school for the Gifted and troubled youth.

This boarding school was created as an experiment. It enrolls two types of students: the perfect honour roll students who always raise their hand and the obnoxious gum-smacking troublemaker that blurts out inappropriate comments the entire class period. Redwood Boarding School only accepts the best students and the worst. Why do students even choose to come here? For the deal. The good students are offered scholarships and any financial support needed for them to go onto college...under one condition: students must help tutor and room with the educationally-challenged teenage criminals until Graduation Day as well as staying out of trouble. What's in it for the troublemakers? They get a clean slate, and every single bad thing on their records get burned IF they make nothing below a C in any class and as long as they don't drop out.

Amelia was woken up by a staff of her parents. They had a lot of servants (or what ever you might call them.). She got up tiredly, yawned and stretched. First day of school. She hated and loved it. She went to the bathroom, one of the ones at her floor. Amelia took a shower and then dressed up. At breakfast, her parents didn't even look at her. She was used to it. At least she had free use of money. After breakfast, she got to the car, while a butler carried her bags. A driver drove her to school and then carried her bags for her to the dorm. She started unpacking and hoped for a nice dorm mate.

Carrying her bags Maddy stepped out of the taxi, she wasn't exactly surprised that her parents wouldn't bring her here. Instead they simply posted a train ticket and some money and told her to make her own way there. Nervously biting her lip she walked down the driveway dragging her case behind her. Looking at the map she had been given she navigated her way to her dorm.

Her parents driver had dropped her off at the school, they wouldn't let her come alone as they didn't really trust her to come at all. Her parents driver was carrying her bags as she dragged her suitcase behind her, heading towards what she assumed was her dorm she scanned the walls for her dorm. On a small plastic card she could just make out her name and what she assumed was her dorm-mates name. Opening the door she motioned for her driver to start unpacking. Admittedly she didn't exactly like that she like her parents had staff but she loved the perks.

Lane was driven to the school by a friend, as neither he nor his mother owned a car. He got out with a milk snake around his neck, which he had gotten due to his mother feeling guilty as he was always alone. All of his stuff was in two bags , one a beach bag and one a backpack. He made his way to his dorm room.

Scarlett woke up and rolled out of bed, shutting her alarm as she did. She stood up and stretched her arms and legs, groaning as she did. She walked over to her mirror and brushed out her messy red locks and then applied a thin layer of mascara to her eyelashes. She grabbed a skirt and a floral blouse and quickly slid them on, she examined herself quickly and then went downstairs. Her mother greeted her with a kiss on her cheek, "Good morning, love. Are you ready to go?" Her mother smiled at her as Scarlett quickly nodded, as she nervously smiled up at her mother. Her mother grabbed Scarletts bags and took them out to their car, as Scarlett got into the passengers side. She looked up at her house and sighed, as her mother began to drive.

It didn't take them very long to arrive to the school, and once they did Scarlett quickly grabbed her things, "I love you! Be good!" Her mother yelled to her as she approached the school. Once inside she went to her dorm room and began unpacking. "At least I don't have to share a room.." She said quietly as she continued to remove her things from her bags.

Mara sat in the back of her parents car, looking anxiously out of the window as they pulled up to the residence hall. She was, as could be expected of her, very nervous to meet her new classmates, but she was hopeful that she would at least find a friend in her roommate. She’d heard many stories about horrible roommates, so she was hoping they would get along. After all, they’d be spending a lot of time together. Mara wondered what the other ‘gifted’ students would be like...would she fit in? Would the two groups of students mesh well together? There was so much to worry about.

“Tamara? Are you listening to me? We need to get you moved in!” her mother interrupted her thoughts, “I know you’re scared, but everything’s going to be okay. Let’s go.”

“Yeah, okay. I’m ready.”

She stepped out of the car.

Kevin woke that morning in an unfamiliar bed in a random hotel. He lived far from the school, and his parents had decided it would be more effective for him to fly in the night before, sleep in a nearby city, then get a ride to the school campus. They'd given him enough money for that and food, and little else. He was pretty lucky he'd been given a checklist of what he'd need so he could pack and/or buy it beforehand by his younger sister. Hopefully at some point his parents would remember to send him money in case he needed something, but otherwise he was basically on his own.

He settled into the back of a taxi he had managed to flag down, gave the address, and waited to arrive. He had a roommate, and he was pretty sure they would be insufferable, since that seemed to be the default mode people came in. Thankfully, he had a kindle and even a few hardcover classics. He paid the man who had driven him when he arrived, gave a curt thanks, and proceeded to carry his four bags of varying size to his room. He had planned this carefully- one for electronics, one for school supplies, one for books and other random objects from home, and the largest for clothes, with a smaller bag inside containing toiletries. He hadn't even thought about what he would do when he ran out of- no, today was already a start at a new school and the end of Summer, he wasn't going to make it worse by thinking about possible practicalities that didn't really matter in the hear and now.

There were others arriving, but he didn't pay much attention to them as he headed towards the room he remembered to be the one with his dorm, carefully jostling his backpack off one of his shoulders so he could shuffle through it for a key. He opened the room that he would be sharing with another, and then set to the task of unpacking, placing his bag somewhere he'd see it even early in the morning. setting up cords and electronics, pulling out books and taping up the small collection of pictures he actually liked of both himself and those he cared for that brought back good memories no matter the day.

Lastly, he began unpacking the one actual suitcase he had brought, placing his opaque bag of important goods under the bathroom sink before beginning to unpack his clothes and fold them neatly before placing them in proper drawers, or hang them up in the closet. Most days he would've avoided the task with a vengeance, but when his new roommate could walk in at any point, and at least he could put off the pleasantries if he looked busy.

Yeon-min sat slouching in the passengers seat, head leaned against the car window as they pulled up to the building that would be his 'facility of learning' for the next while...more like a prison. He raked his fingers through his hair, trying to shake off the feeling of intimidation he got from the sight of it. The car lurched to a stop, his mother turning toward him and resting her manicured hand on his shoulder.

"I know you're not happy but you'll do just fine here. Your father wished he could come too, but you know how work is for him." her words were the same thing most parents would tell their children when sending them to a boarding school. Though most mothers weren't sending them off so their child wouldn't have a criminal record.

After retrieving his duffel bag and backpack from the trunk he was off, only a noncommittal wave toward the car serving as a goodbye to his mother. He had just set foot on the school's premises and already he could tell he was going to hate it.
