Oliver slowly blinked, the vicious bite in the blonde's tone surprising him. His lips were parted, about to say something, but the rude guy had already turned away. Um. Okay? Ollie wasn't exactly sure what he'd said wrong. Was he offended that he'd asked him to be a decent human being and show some manners?
"It's quite nice to meet you both." Ah. Passive aggressiveness. For Ollie, everything clicked into place as he internally scoffed at Blondie's pettiness. Clearly, he was that kind of guy. Making a mental note that he'd already sussed out who the 'Resident Twat' would be, Oliver then proceeded to listen to what the lady in charge had to say, but the information was nothing new to him as he'd already read the guide book multiple times.
Following everyone else, he found himself inside the large kitchen and miraculously managed to slip into a gap and pick up his key and paper, not stopping to look at it.
Squeezing through the cluster to retreat, hair ruffled and cheeks flushed (he really shouldn't have worn that extra layer today) he spotted Soren a few steps away and naturally gravitated towards him, feeling a tad more comfortable around the first person he'd interacted with... despite the horribly embarrasing first impression.
Oliver's eyebrows raised quizzically at Soren's comment. Blue eyes looked down at his own paper before darting up again, an easy-going grin on his face.
"Well, I'm certainly not complaining."
Was Ollie flirting? Was he joking? Who knew. A master of ambiguity would never reveal their true intentions.
The echo of the loud crash diverted his attention, his stare landing on a woman who'd clearly just fallen over dumped luggage. The brunette grimaced. See? He knew it was going to happen to someone.
To her credit, the woman quickly recollected herself before picking up her own paper and key, reading the names out. Oliver was struck by a wave of sympathy. The poor girl was partnered with the Resident Twat. He wondered what kind of atrocity her previous incarnation had done to deserve such a cruel fate.
