Hey all!

So the CS page has been up for a day or two and I am already excited with both the amount and quality of the characters I am seeing. I should've created this the same day but, you know,college haha.

Anyway, this is the page for Out of Character. Post anything you want to discuss about interactions, ask me questions about the nature of something, or just let us know about predicted absences or reasons for any delays. Overall, I hope us to be a chatty group.

When I was making mine I was reading all the others and realized that most were female so I made a male. My original was gonna be a female as well lol

Mine is kiiiinda one of my favorite OC that I really wanted to put in a zombie apocalypse setting, then I saw this RP and I was like "That's perfect, then" though I had to change a few things cause he's usually in a fantasy magic setting... and an antagonist to the story. Lol. I'm sorry I cheated on my character creation.

So I'd built my character on the assumption that many of us were already familiar with each other. I was wondering if maybe we should try and figure out who knows who? Also, I just have some questions about the setting, such as: When did the apocalypse occur? Are these fast zombies or slow zombies? Where are our characters located? I have some more but those are the most important three.

Alright, I realized that my introduction was a bit vague, but I hope my initial post as well as some information posted here will answer some things.

I imagine some of the characters know each other or are in small groups of 2-4 people. The apocalypse has been in swing for 2 years now. Governments fell and military order dissolved about 1 1/2 years ago, although there are likely some small remnants of the government, but they aren't important for the beginning of the story, at least, not yet. hehe.

The zombies are mostly slow, but some of them are starting to evolve and develop specific traits. For example, some of them have become runners, with very strong leg muscles. Others have become screamers that summon other zombies to the area. But the majority of zombies are normal lurchers and the ones that are evolved have had to be a zombie for a considerable period of time, or were people who did lots of drugs pre-apocalypse (substances influence the zombie virus.)

You mentioned how there was this island-y(?) city place where the only was across was an old bridge that hadn't been collapsed by the military. Where is this place? Not really asking for a name, just a general location (i.e. which state it's in). If you don't know and want to touch on it later, that's fine. But I'd figured the general location would help give more to build on my character (and maybe other people too) instead of just leaving a lot of details vague - unless that's what you're going for here, in which case by all means keep it up.

Sorry if I sound like I'm whining. Trying to not be super-pushy (it is your first time, and Ik how that feels).

No, it's fine, I don't mind providing some details.

I'm basing my idea of the city off of a real life place that I was at one time. It's called Wildwood, and it's a city in NJ, USA.

However, to describe my idea of the city. Most of the buildings are still in tack. There was no bombardment or shelling of the city. You can expect some of the buildings near the ocean and the amusement park near the ocean to have some mild damage based on storms and small flooding, but they aren't completely inaccessible. A large demographic of the area is hotels, restaurants, convenience stores, and places to find lots of baubles and such. That being said, there are certainly a good amount of grocery stores and such. However, as far as easy access to things like bullets and weapons, you're in a bit of a tough spot. Hopes for that would be a military checkpoint or depot near the ocean, or some sort of survivor hold out that fell earlier in the apocalypse. I hope that explains the island a little more. Look up the actual location if you want to know even more of what I am thinking.

So the beauty of having my character being a scavenger is that I can jump in literally anywhere to start off its just moreso deciding what location would be the most likely for her to be when we begin

I know I pretty much wrote Wren's location when he received the call in his backstory, but if anybody wants to stumble upon him in the little rest stop he took refuge in before receiving the radio call, you're more than welcome to do it. Otherwise, I guess Wren will meet you on the way.

I'd like to also note that if I call my character "Wyrhen" by accident, I'm sorry. It's his actual name, but since we're not in a magical fantasy setting, Wyrhen didn't work as a real name, so I just modified it to Wren. But I might accidentally say "Wyrhen" from time to time.

Oh also a head's up, I'll be able to reply but I might be slow (Not like a day or two, maybe a couple hours) because I'm in college right now studying Psychology so I'm a little busy but I'll make the time for this.

ooo i can definitely see daniela maybe lurking around there looking for loot and stumbling upon wren 0: not sure how well that encounter would go tho, given how daniela can be a bit paranoid when it comes to strangers lmao

My girlie would really be okay being with a small group. She’d definitely still try to rescue the dude because that’s her personality.

Also I’m going to play her as someone who has a hard time killing zombies. Especially more fresher looking ones. She’s a sprint and hide kind of gal.

In my backstory I mentioned how Judith joined a group of survivors three months into the apocalypse. We should probably try and create a chart (or something, I just really like charts ) to figure out who is grouped with who, so that we can try and figure out connections between characters.
