Name:

Daniel James Fenton.

Nicknames:

Danny.

Age:

Twelve.

Traits:

Danny could be compared to a coin. He's shiny and golden at his core, but after years of neglect and loneliness, the coin has slowly become tarnished and dirty. With some care, he could still be a perfectly good coin, even if he's bent a little out of shape. Mature for his age and far more responsible than he should have to be, Danny's peers view him as boring, but he does still have that youthful element to him, still enjoying games and a bit of mischief. He's intelligent and resourceful, but doesn't act on his thoughts, afraid that he'll be wrong or have his suggestions shot down. He gets very anxious in large crowds or when placed in unfamiliar situations, and he very rarely asks for things he needs, worried that he'll be imposing. It doesn't take him long to grow to care for someone, as love-starved and desperate for affection as he is, and that leads to him being emotionally vulnerable and more than a little naive. He's endlessly loyal and very sensitive, small outbursts causing him to cower or flee the scene. Very timid and insecure, most of his emotions have been toned down by none other than Danny himself to try and block out the pain of his parents' negligence. Due to this, there are some emotions he has never felt due to him simply refusing to feel them, so when he begins to "thaw" in a sense during the summer with his uncle, the emotions he'd pushed down all those years begin to bubble over and it becomes very clear how much he needs hugs, therapy, and affection.

Appearance:

With a mess of raven black hair and big blue eyes, Danny looks a good few years younger than he is. His hair reaches his earlobes and is very choppy, since his most recent hair cut was done by himself since his parents frequently forget to take him to the barber. His eyes are large, almond-shaped, and cerulean blue in color, framed by ebony eyelashes. He's pale as snow due to spending a good majority of his time inside, to the point where his tiny blue veins are a little easier to trace than most peoples'. A few inches below the average height and very slim, he's got a scrawny physique with long spindly limbs. He's got a round face and thin lips, with ever so slightly crooked teeth and a button nose. Overall, he's absolutely precious.

Biography:

After the death of his twin sister, Delilah, Danny's parents spent the entirety of their time mourning her instead of spending time with the child that lived. Marlene and Henry, his mother and father, did love Danny and felt awful for forgetting him, but their excessive attempts at making up for it often ended up hurting Danny more than it helped him, so he eventually gave up on trying to get their detention. He no longer brought up his birthday, knowing that the Chuck E. Cheese birthday party they'd throw him the next year would be miserable. He wouldn't mention the school performances he was required to take part in, hating the rush of embarrassment he felt when they raced in halfway through the play, scrambling to find a seat and pretending to pay any attention to the performance. He didn't try to fix his bond with them, because as far as he was concerned, if they cared at all, they wouldn't have done their part without his reminders. Besides their obvious negligence, there were a few certain situations that convinced Danny that they didn't love him. The one that has stuck with him the most through the years happened when he was eight. Henry had been drinking more than he should have, and accidentally let it slip that he wished Delilah had lived instead. It positively shattered Danny's little heart, and that was probably the point where he decided to just give up on ever being close to his parents. He then settled for making his own Spaghetti-Os for dinner and walking home from school on his own, instead of sitting at the empty table waiting for a family dinner that would never come and lingering outside the school as if they'd actually remember to come pick him up. This would probably be why he was so ecstatic when he learned that he was being sent to stay with his uncle - it meant he'd finally be able to spend some time with the only person who'd ever shown him any affection. Little did he know that his parents weren't sending him away because of his constant pleas, but because they were secretly trying to have another daughter for the third time.

Extra Information:

+ When Danny was six, he went through a phase where he wore dresses to try and please his parents. It made them very angry, and they told him to never go in the room where he got the dresses again.

+ Danny is an exceptional artist, though he doesn't recognize his own skill because he's never been praised for it. In fact, he's extremely modest about his work, and has a tendency of hiding it out of embarrassment.

+ Though he hates to admit it, sometimes Danny wishes Delilah had lived too. It's such a painful thing to think, but when he stops to ponder how unhappy both him and his parents are, he can't help but think everything would have been better that way.

+ Danny sometimes feels as though he's missing something, like he's only half a person. He often wonders if that's the way it feels to be a single twin, the other lost. He wonders if feeling like only half a heart is beating inside his chest is common among twinless twins. However, there are other times where he feels like there's a presence with him when he's completely alone, and though this would frighten any other child, Danny finds it oddly soothing.

+ When Danny needs to calm himself down or has just escaped a stressful situation, he hides under his bed with a small portable disk player, his old bulky headphones, and his favorite CDs. (He loves classical music.) He hides under there, listens to music and draws until he feels better.

Name:

Isidore Montana Fenton

Nicknames:

Izzy

Age:

40

Traits:

Izzy is somewhere in-between a hillbilly and a rockstar. Rockabilly? Yeah, let's go with that. Known as the life of the party, Izzy is full of laughs and good times. He's not irresponsible, though, as many make him out to be. He has a steady job, cares for his dog, and is willing to do anything to help a friend in need. He is hard to anger, usually becoming sad or disappointed instead. He does his best to be a good person for everyone involved in his life, and he's really hard on himself when he lets them down.

Appearance:

Izzy is of averageheight and has a muscular build. His skin is tanned and rough, callouses built up in almost every spot imaginable. His brown hair is an average length, a little longer on the top that the sides. That hardly matters, though, because he's almost never seen without a hat - except for in church. He has a good bit of scruff on his face, somewhere in-between a five-o-clock shadow and a full-on beard. His eyes are a full blue and very squinty due to his constant laughing and shielding them from the sun at work.

Biography:

Izzy grew up in a nice southern household with his younger brother, Henry. There parents cared for them very much, and they grew up to be fine gentlemen. While Henry went on to college and started a family, unfortunately losing a daughter in the process, Izzy stayed in their hometown and began working as an auto-mechanic. After fifteen years of simply being an employee, Izzy's boss passed the shop down to him upon his retirement. Izzy never dated much. It wasn't that he wasn't interested in women. And women were certainly interested in him. He just never going the right one. He needed someone who could really grasp onto him - to make him laugh as much as he made them laugh. Instead, Izzy adopted an old mutt and named him Bud. That's his true companion. When Izzy was invited to a family reunion, he met his nephew for the first time. Danny was young and full of life, a wonderful young boy. Izzy instantly fell in love with the kid and was extremely upset when the weekend ended. Many years later, though, Henry called up his older brother and asked if Danhy could stay with him for the summer. Izzy jumped at the opportunity and is extremely excited to have the house so full of life.

Extra Information:

  • The name of Izzy's auto shop is 'Bud's,' which he changed after the establishment was handed down to him.

  • Bud is a Golden Retriever/German Shepard mix.

  • Izzy has only ever had one serious relationship in his life. It was with one of the waitresses at the local diner, Miss Ettie Leach. However, they split up after a year because Izzy hasn't yet popped the question. He still very much loves her, though, and he misses her greatly.

  • Izzy is a devoted Christian and attends his local Methodist church every Sunday.

  • Izzy's hobbies include fishing, watching NASCAR, and fixing up old trucks for the hell of it.
