Fantasy Reaper: Reboot

She pursed her lips, "I know that." She reached out, a petite finger poking his chest, over his heart. "I mean in here, and here." She placed her finger over his forehead as well. "What do you live for, and why?" She asked, watching him intently. Her big blue eyes were all seeing, soul searching, and staring directly at him.

"Is that all?" She asks, disbelieving of his answer. "Is there anything else?" She watched him steadily, making eye contact, which she held firmly.

She smiled softly, "want to know a secret?" She asked, leaning in closer, "The best way to live is to have nothing at all; nothing to loose, nothing to gain, nothing to support. But, the happiest way to live is with purpose, but no limitation." She pulled away, eyes distant. "Perceive that as you may."

Aces woke up in sharp breathing, putting his hand on his head and chest as if he was checking if he was alive. His breathing soon went back to a slow respiration and Aces slowly got out of bed. It seemed he was in his living quarters that he found somehow. He put on his sling as he exited the room and roamed the base once more.

Just outside the base, Reapers were running rampant. They clawed at each other, most of them seemingly fighting over something, though that wasn't coffee. They growled at each other like animals trying to establish dominance, but that wasn't what was going on. Not too far off from the crowd of angry Reapers was perched the large phoenix-like Reaper who offered shade to the dark-gray haired man sitting beneath it. The man had no visible weapon on him, and he looked fairly relaxed as he rested against a tall oak tree.

"What do you plan to do with Grim and Sentinel?" A voice came from a man dressed in white who stood on the other side of the tree. He looked extremely similar to Scourge, but didn't have a mask nor did he look quite as young. He had a scar that ran down the corner of his mouth and another running down the side of his jaw. His silver eyes watched the wastelands, his face devoid of expression.

"If they get in my way, I'll toss 'em around a little bit. Otherwise, I don't care." The man glared back at the silver eyed maniac, frowning. "You said it yourself, I'm only here to get 'em shakin' a little. To scare 'em."

"True, true. Well, I'll leave it to you then. From what I've been told, none of the Projects can use their Threads at the moment. A bit questionable, since they're sitting ducks to you now, but it means they'll be stronger once they get their Threads back. They may cause a problem down the line, who knows." The Scourge look-alike kept his eyes on the landscape, admiring his work.

"We have more Reapers than we know what to do with, they won't last very long if we throw all we have at them. Plus, we've got them Wraiths, their generals'll wipe 'em out no problem."

"We're not using Wraiths. Not yet. Right now, we use the Phoenixes and Leviathans, raise the bar a little. We use Shades if it gets out of hand."

"Fine, fine, whatever psycho."

"Just do what you came here to do and be done with it, this is getting pointless."

"Got it." The man stood up, frowning, and the Phoenix fidgeted a bit. "Hey, Isaac. You sure you don't want to see Aaron?"

"Go."

With that, the Phoenix started circling the air above the base, and the ash haired man strode towards the base's main entrance. The guards looked fairly nervous from the Reapers, and an approaching man caught them off guard. Within seconds, the guards were torn to pieces by the Phoenix swooping down and crushing their bones with it's massive beak. The man walked through the gates, the Phoenix working on any guards that tried to stop him.

(Let's get this story moving~ Sorry, Aura, I couldn't wait for the Projects to get their Threads back.)

Revnoir heard the screaming, and became worried when there was a unique cry of a Phoenix. Dammit, not the right time. He couldn't use his Threads, neither could Scourge.

Riven grinned widely as he opened the doors to the lobby. Nobody there. He let out a sigh, and adventured deeper into the white walled building. "I wonder where Hybrid went~ I hope he'll like his gift."

Alice watched the giant bird like reaper flying above the bace. She was on the the roof and hiding under a random stack of barrels. She couldn't move without being seen by that huge thing.

Aura sat perfectly still for a moment befor speaking softly to Lilith. "Hide. No mater what you here... no mater what you see.... you hide." He said as he walked out of the door and locked it. He made his way down to the biggest training room on the first floor and started sharpening the blades on his chain sythe.

"Hybrid? Hybriiid! Where are you...?" Riven looked a little sad that he couldn't find Aura, wanting so badly to give the man the gift he worked so hard to make for him. Do you have any idea how hard it is to sew? He continued his search, searching frantically for the snow haired other. He would take care of 'scaring' the others after.

The Phoenix circled the base, screeching at Reapers who tried to enter the base. They weren't trying to overrun the place, just trying to show Weave who's land they were on. It ended up crushing one in it's beak when it tried to get in despite the Phoenix' angry cries.

Alice desides to make a run for it the moment it gets distracted by another reaper. She runs for the door that leads down into the building, hoping and praying the pheonix would not see her.

The Phoenix caught movement at the corner of it's eye, but it decided not to deal with it. It was already inside, so Riven could handle it. It went back to keeping the Reapers in line, screeching at them.

Riven eventually found Aura, and a huge smile spread across his lips. "Hybrid! I finally found you, yesss!" He ran up to Aura, giving him a swift hug and pulling away. He quickly ruffled through the inner pockets of his jacket. "I've got something for you, you'll love it."

Riven pulled out a headband with real wolf ears on them, and what looked like a clippable wolf tail. He smiled and put the headband on Aura and handed him the tail. "You always wanted to be a wolf, well now you look like one!" Those parts were taken from a familiar wolf. Sergoth's wolf. "Like 'em?"

Aura closed his eyes for a moment, cooling his anger befor it consumed him. He would need a level head for this fight if he would like to keep his head. "Where.... is my son.....?" Aura growled threw clenched teath.

"Oh, I'm so happy you like it! Made from real fur!" Riven grinned widely, watching Aura slowly lose his cool. "Made it just for you, Hybrid." Riven watched the Project with cold, calculating brown eyes. "You look like a real wolf, that's for sure."

"Careful Harbinger... this wolf has fangs." Aura said calmer now. "Tell me now... what have you done with my son?"

"Now now, I could handle your son's fangs just fine. Why couldn't I handle yours?" Riven was poking fun now, wondering how angry he could get the man.
