Dunno how it is around here, but the site I came from had the option of 'orphaning' characters where folks could adopt other people's charries after their owners leave for whatever reason. If she dies of neglect though, well, I'd be lying if I said I wouldn't care, but I'd be okay with it. I don't seem to be the only one to have dropped out before.
