Other Random question of the day

Random question of the day:

If you could make one wish (that didn't involve killing, bringing back dead people or making someone fall in love), what would it be?
Not sure if I asked this one already, but...

Random question of the day:

When it comes to sports, would you rather participate or watch?
PLAY! Give me that ball to kick, a bat to swing. But I'll go right to sleep if you make me watch.

The same comment that would be ignored coming from a random Joe will be an internet article coming from a celebrity. They have power, wealth, and attention, all working together in a way to inflate their egos. If the world treats your word like something massively important, why wouldn’t you? Plus, most of us- if not all of us- are more arrogant and narcissistic than we’d like to believe. Celebrities just get more wiggle room to show it.

Because when you have money you don't have to give a fuck about anyone else. Wealth after a certain point affords you a life entirely and completely detached from the real world. You can afford anything you need, anything you want, and never have to worry about any of your basic needs not being meet. Engine goes in your car, no problem buy a new car. Storm broke a window, no problem buy a new one and get someone else to install it. That level of luxury and privilege means you can turn a blind eye to the struggles of the average person.

No answers yesterday. What a shame.

Random question of the day:

What was your dream job growing up?
Never had one. I don't have dreams, unlike most people. I have no idea what's going to happen, but I've already accepted that whatever happens that I'll be okay with it, if I'm happy. I don't care if I'm poor, homeless, or in jail. If I can be happy, then that's alright.

There's been a lot of things I desire to be. My first "dream job" was just "scientist", later it would become "author", and those are the most relevant. I've considered other jobs in my youth, many of which led to quick realizations of how mismatched they were with me. Heck, even with my current aim "economics journalist" a conflicting future is quite a possibility, even assuming I manage to land such a job in the first place. Moreso than what my dream job is though, I think my maturing has mostly dealt with becoming more aware of the possibility of failure, and to create insurance for those possibilities.

Notice for New Members: If you're gonna answer a previously asked question, please quote the question in particular so we can avoid confusion on which question you're answering.

Notice for everyone, New Members included: Please keep debates and SilvaGunner esque nonsense conversations out of this thread. If you're not gonna answer a question, then please don't say anything.

In this thread I will ask a question everyday, and you will have to answer it. So the first random question of the day is:

What do you prefer? Playstation or Xbox?
Honestly probably PlayStation

Random question of the day:

What would you do if you won the lottery?

I would divide it into three portions. One I would keep for more immediate use, and I would split that portion in half too, one for current necessary expenses and the other for whatever random things I may want. The second I would put in the bank, and the third I would use for investments. The third would most likely be the largest portion, followed by the first and the second would be the smallest. Over time I would use earnings from the investments partly for further investments and partly for charity, assuming they were even minimally successful.

Pay off my home by setting the entire sum aside in a bank account, then having weekly full payments come out.

I would set aside home insurance, car insurance, and property taxes for 5+ years (depends on my lotto sum).

I would buy a new home (do the same as above) and the home I mentioned above that is paid off I would let my friends live in. They are responsible for their utilities and personal expenses only.

My parents would have their retirement home.

My brothers debt would be paid off and I would pay his wife to divorce him and leave my family alone.

Me and my lil bros debt would be paid off. No student loans, no car payments and so on.

I would get my family to a state of financial stability and normal comfort and health.

My friends would have as much stability as I could give.

And lastly I would drop large sums of money into the hands of all the artists over the years who I have followed, I would pay them for the years of entertainment and joy they have given me with every piece of art and fiction that have made for free. I want to see them happy because they have made so much for me a fucking stranger!

I would travel and then donate the rest. Unlike most others here I don't have any ambitions towards wealth or anything.

I think I would give most of it away. There's no real reason I need to be a multimillionaire, and a lot of people would have their lives changed by only a small portion of the amount. Pay off people's hospital bills, award scholarships, feed the hungry. I'd probably wind up investing most of it locally, since the shutdown took a lot of people's jobs around here. I'd also pay off my mom's student loans, and make sure mine and my siblings' college are all paid for.
