Viewpoint random but would you roleplay more diligently if you were paid to do so

Just a complete hypothetical. I see this on Roll20 pay to play. I'm wondering would people be more apt to being more diligent in their writing if they were paid to do so? Like a commissioned writer of sorts.

Just curious to see opinions and answers float around.
I’d love that!

It would depend on the guidelines.

If I were to be paid, I want a clear agreement between the two of us of the conditions to our exchange. What the client wants in terms of content and frequency, how my writing will be used (whether exclusively for their personal enjoyment or a project they're working on), and payment, to start. This needs to be something abided by both parties.

I would also want to very clearly get a mutual understanding of the setting, characters, and tone before writing the first post. At the end of the day, it would be commission work, and I would like to treat it as such to make my partner satisfied with what they're paying for.

To be clear, I wouldn't want all my RPs to be paid—however, one or two certainly wouldn't hurt. As I've seen other replies state, I would use OCs made specifically for the story, in case they do choose to use our writings for their own fiction.

I wouldn't abandon my own morals and desires completely for a paycheck, though. if it's anything that makes me uncomfortable or I would truly detest to write on a daily basis, I couldn't see myself ever agreeing to such an arrangement with any diligence.

Doing it for money indicates they likely won't stop replying for ages, or suddenly ghost me. So provided that the list of squicks is handled and there's sufficient planning, I'll do it all the way!
