Experiences have you ever had an rp go multi-generational?

hello! i had this happen a lot when i was younger and was wondering how many other people have had the experience of their couple getting together and having their happy ending, or unhappy in some cases, and continuing the rp with their children and entirely new characters!

it kind of used to be my favorite part of roleplaying (chronic family tree creator).

I was in the later part of an RP that was sorta the reverse. My spouse got the old gang back together and did a prequel, with some people playing a parent or other relatives of their characters from the original. That was kinda cool.

Yes. I joined my friend's roleplay when we were younger. Our characters were fighting some type of obstacles. Eventually they settled down, had a son, and the son grew up to follow in their footsteps with friends/comrades of his own.

 

[Idea]

Kind of but maybe not really.

There was this one RP I joined in which we played creator gods making a world. Our characters created all kinds of things, from plant and animal life, to materials, magic places and sapient races. For a lot of things that happened in it, this RP has been one of the most memorable RP experiences I've had, but skipping a lot of details, a chain of events that started with my character decimating life on the moon and getting a divine trial for it lead to a chain of events that eventually resulted in a war. I don't think this war played out much in that original RP as it fizzled out and died.

This RP spawned two sort of sequel RPs.

One of them was a sequel reboot of the RP, in which again players would play creator gods and it took place after the war. I was invited back to the RP and told my character was now considered a top goddess, which I ended up attributing to a combination of her opportunistic approach to the war and to her being one of the few deities in that RP that actually demanded reverence and worship for her favor.

In the other one we instead played mortals in the world that was created during the original RP. I think there was some kind of adventure context, but I'm forgetting the details.

Best 1x1 I had started off as a silly sorta sexy-sexy time RP then became a family RP then turned into Incredibles lol. Ended with gay super powered parents unknowingly raising supervillains where we had to take down our own kids in the end. Bittersweet ending to an ever evolving RP. Siiiiiighssss

I have a few times i personally like doing this to add to the rp to make things interesting and to play more characters cause i like creating ocs
