Puella Magica: The Grief Seeds (Lunar and Little Sister)

[Lunar-Eclipse]

Etsuko panicked, she was afraid to leave her friend behind and risk her life against the familiars. Kotone on the other hand agreed with the plan Yuujiro had in mind for them. She grabbed Etsuko's arm and started running to where she assumed the witch was located. "Sorry dear! We can't waste magic before the real battle begins!" The dark haired magical girl told her as she led the way. She too often used magic as her offense.

 

[Little Sister]

[Lol, no problem xD ]


Yuujiro slammed the blunt end of her lance in front of her, she began to conjured up her magic allowing it to flare around her like the sun. She was nervous but confident that Kotone and Etsuko will be able to defeat the witch. If not Yuujiro will try to finish off the familiars to assist them.


"Solar Barrage!" Yuujiro yelled out as Kotone and Estuko ran down the path. Yuujiro's magic flared out in front of her, a barrier was created creating a wall between her and the familiars. The barrier consisted of various rays of light that were hot as the sun, hurting the familiars when they dared to come closer. Yuujiro held her sun lance with both hands to maintain the spell.

 

[Lunar-Eclipse]

Kotone turned back and saw as Yuujiro used her barrier to fend off the familiars. She gave a slight smile to her, "I told you she could handle it. We can take on the witch. You ready for the Etsuko?" She asked the pink haired girl as she turned back to stare at the rays of light caused by her friend.


"I-I think so." Etsuko stuttered. She looked ahead again and found a new figure begin to form before them. "That's gotta be it." Kotone muttered. The figure morphed into an odd blue shape. Water poured from it's sides with a small human-like figure on it's very top. So that's why it's at a place like this... Kotone thought to herself and she launched forward to begin the attack on the witch.

 

[Little Sister]

Yuujiro narrowed her eyes in concentration. She let the magic of the barrier to lash out at the familiars to draw them back. The familiars seemed to be angry that she was preventing from venturing closer. They keep trying to break through even though they only cause damage to themselves.

 

[Lunar-Eclipse]

The witch struck back at Kotone. She quickly jumped up and dodged the attack as she readied her sword to strike. "MIDNIGHT BLADE!" She shouted and slashed the sword down, causing a dark blast of energy to hit the witch's human-like part. The attack caused massive damage against it. The witch then shifted it's water towards Kotone and had it hit her like little shards. She cringed from the impact and did her best to dodge them. Etsuko meanwhile looked back at Yuujiro with distress on her face. She was worried the familiars would break through and harm her. Kotone looked back and saw her with her back turned, "Estuko! Help me with the witch! She'll be fine if we can beat it!" She exclaimed.


(I'm going to a con tomorrow or technically later today. So if you can't respond before I go I may take a while >_<)

Yuujiro tightened her grip on her lance. It seems that the familiars were getting desperate to break the barrier as they were now pushing against it in groups. She feared that she wouldn't have the strength to hold them back.


'No. I can do this.' thought Yuujiro. She widened her stance and channeled her magic. "Solar Flare!"


The spell seemed to absord into her barrier and just as the familiars were about to strike beams of light targeted the witch's minions. Drawing them further back. A few were vanquished but others quickly took there place.

Etsuko watched as Yuujiro's magic drew the familiars further back, protecting them all. She smiled and truly believed her friend could stop them. "You can do it Yuujiro!" She exclaimed.


"Etsuko!" Kotone shouted as she continued to dodge the witch's shards.


"Right!" The pink haired magical girl jumped into action and began to use magic from her scepter. "Lovely beams!" She shouted. The scepter shot out beams of pink energy that hit the shards. The shards broke and Kotone began to strike the witch's weak point once again.

Yuujiro gritted her teeth at the sight of the new familiars they were larger than the others. 'I may have bitten off more than I can do.' she thought. However it was then that she heard Etsuko's yell. Yuujiro let out a breath an attempt to calm down. She gripped the lance in front of her as her magic began to strain, she closed her eyes in concentration as the familiars began there barrage on the barrier. Each hit seems to twinge in her head, echoing in her head. The more strength of the impact the harder it is to maintain the flow of magic. But she will persist and keep her barrier up as long as possible.

 

[Lunar-Eclipse]

Etsuko smiled as she saw her encouragement had helped Yuujiro try her best to keep the barrier up to protect them. She turned back to the battle and saw Kotone had already returned to attacking as she sliced through the witch's shards to reach her weak point. The pink haired magical girl followed behind her friend and did her best to protect the both of them to finish off the witch. The witch hurled more and more shards at the two until it spotted Yuujiro who had been preventing her familiars from attacking the group. The witch changed it's range of attack and aimed for her instead causing Estuko to gasp. "Yuujiro look out!" She screamed.

Yuujiro merely concentrated on the familiars in front of her, as the battle with the witch continued, the familiars however were becoming more aggressive making it difficult to hold the barrier making it hard to hear as the harsh thumping began to repeatedly echo within her head. Steadily she began to waver with her barrier as her magic began to dwindle as small cracks began to appear. Yuujiro can feel herself beginning to tire as the constant stain of continuous magic began to take its toll.


Though try as she might, Yuujiro relentlessly put in more effort and will to keep the barrier. 'I must keep it up. Just a little more...they can defeat her' she mentally berated herself. So it came as a surprise as she let out a gasp when an abrupt pain began to spread throughout her body, creating a break in her concentration. The blow of the attack made her stance falter and push her against her lance. To recover Yuujiro was force to brace herself on one knee. Yuujiro tried to regain concentration for the barrier, however the falter of concentration allowed the familiars to break through with another impact against the solar barrier. The impact brought more pain as the connection with her and the barrier shattered, like her barrier.

 

[Lunar-Eclipse]

Etsuko gasped as she witnessed Yuujiro's barrier break, and the pain caused by the witch that struck her. "Kotone! We have to finish the witch off! Yuujiro's injured!" She shouted to her friend. Kotone was busy in aiming for her final blow, "I'm already on it! Get to the other side and blast at the same time as me!" Kotone exclaimed.


Etsuko agreed and quickly made it to the other side, avoiding as many shards as she could with help from her scepter. Kotone targeted the witch with her sword readied to attack. "Ready?!" She yelled.


"Ready!" Etsuko responded. The two charged at the witch's center ready to defeat it. "Attack!" Kotone swung down her sword while Etsuko blasted at it with her scepter. The two attacks reached the witch at the same time, causing it to be destroyed. The fountain-like structure collapsed, the witch had been defeated.

 

[Little Sister]

Yuujiro struggled to stand up. She succeeded but she was at a disadvantage to fight the familiars that were upon her. The pain was making everything hazy that she couldn't really focus how Estuko and Kotone were fairing with the Witch and she didn't know if she could use any spells. Yuujiro did try try nonetheless only to make a few fireballs from her lance that seemed to be more smoke than flame.


Luckily for the solar magical girl she didn't need to fight them any longer as they disappeared with the witch's barrier. She turned her head towards Etsuko and Kotone with a smile, "Good job."

 

[Lunar-Eclipse]

Etsuko turned around alongside Kotone as soon as the witch and familiars disappeared and found Yuujiro there, who was luckily safe from her battle against the familiars. Etsuko smiled back, "Thanks! I'm still rather new with everything." She admitted.


Kotone looked at Etsuko, "You did very well out there. I'm impressed." She smiled and turned back to Yuujiro, "You as well. Without your help Etsuko and I couldn't have even gotten the chance to our combined final blow. I appreciate what both of you have done." She looked outside one of the abandoned building's broken windows. It was still rather dark outside. "Someone your age should probably be asleep by now Etsuko." The night magical girl said.

 

[Little Sister]

Yuujiro gave Etsuko an encouraging smile, “Don’t worry too much about being a rookie. You did really well back there.” She turned her head to Kotone, “Thank you, Kotone though it was the right thing to do.” When Yuujiro looked at the view from the broken window to see that it was either midnight or early dusk. Yuujiro gave a light nod to Etsuko, “Kotone is right. We should all get going.” Before the solar magical girl walked towards the warehouse’s entrance her lavender eyes landed on the grief seed on the center of the floor. Yuujiro stopped walking, her lance still in her hand and called out to her comrades “Who needs a grief seed?” The solar magical girl has a couple of grief seeds but is willing to hand the one before her to Etsuko or Kotone should they need it.

Etsuko smiled, she was thankful for the praise she had received from Yuujiro. It was something she needed once in a while. She gasped, realized how late it probably was. "Oh no! And I have school again tomorrow!" She said with her rose eyes wide.


Kotone gave a small laugh to Etsuko and looked back over to Yuujiro. She didn't need the grief seed really, she had already gotten one recently. "I'm fine on seeds. Perhaps Etsuko needs one?" She asked looking to the pink magical girl.


"M-me? I dunno I mean Avena helped me get one earlier..." She trailed off on her sentence. She was afraid of being criticized for being near what they considered an enemy. Even if they told her it was fine to be around her not that long ago.

Yuujiro smiled reassuringly at Etsuko, personally she felt a bit more hopeful regarding the situation with Avena. If the cruel magical girl cared for Etsuko, just maybe they have a chance to convince the council of magical girls. "Its better to have a couple of grief seeds since Witches don't come out every night." said Yuujiro.


"We all should head home, I know I have prayer duty." she smiled at her comrades.
