Sirius Blagden
Team SSLM
"Woohoo!" Sirius cheered as Salt obliterated the target lancer and anything else nearby but quickly calmed down when Jasper started laying out a plan. "But even if we don't destroy the flag we'd have to find it in whatever is left of the tree if we just keeping shooting it and anyway." In response to the question of where their remaining teammate had got to he simply pointed to where Celeste was scrambling up the trunk. "I've got four of these with different dust types." He said drawing one of his knives then showing Ace. "Fire, electric, light and earth. I've also got this one which is just a knife. I can handle shielding as long as no one gets too far away so-." He stopped mid-sentence as Jasper vanished and reappeared at the base of the tree. "Umm...let's go then?" He said awkwardly to Salt.

Sprinting over to the tree Sirius stared upward finding it seemed even taller up close then drew two knives and stabbed them into the wood experimentally then began scrambling up between branches using the knives like climbing axes trying to catch up helped by Jasper's hesitant progress. While partway between branches large enough to stand on a cluster of smaller lancers closed in and began harassing him, with a yelp he shoved them back splattering some against the tree and jumped back to the previous branch as the swarm reformed. With a strained expression Sirius created two fields and used them to heard the lancers into a single buzzing mass then threw Queen through it sending electricity arcing through the swarm.

Clear for the moment he pulled Queen back from the branch it had lodged in and resumed the climb calling out to those above. "Can you guys wait up a bit? It's hard to make a good shield from far away." As if to punctuate his point a stinger launched at Celeste punched through the barrier Sirius had hurriedly created.

Celeste had barely noticed she was the only one in her team to start ascending the tree even more as Salt sent a barrage of cannon shells into the canopy. The resounding sound of the sound barrier breaking as Salt sent an artillery barrage upwards, Celeste nearly slipped from the perch she was on. Grabbing a nearby branch for stability, she held on. As the sounds began to cease around her, Celeste watched as dry leaves began to catch on fire, and soon acrid smoke filled the air. Coughing, Celeste yelled down. "Watch your fire! Friendly fire!" she yelled, covering her mouth with a part of her scarf/cape/thing. Grunting in near annoyance, Celeste continued climbing.

Again, climbing was easy, but dealing with the smoke wasn't. Finding a place to rest, she watched as the rest of her teammates began to climb their way up. "Hey! I can see the flag!" she said. Indeed the flag was only a few more meters above, in a nest... a Nevermore nest... who was angry. "Oh." That wasn't fun. The Nevermore was sitting on the flag. "Stupid birdy..." she muttered. As if hearing her the Nevermore took to the air, circling around the tree. "BIG BIRDY GUYS! BIG BIRDY!" she shouted out. Her focus was on the Nevermore, so she didn't see the stinger. Feeling it hit her aura, Celeste dropped from the branch.

Of course, years of training did not go to waste! Summoning her sword, Celeste stabbed the blade into the trunk, slowing her fall. Next she summoned her bident and stabbed it into the tree next to her sword. Once she stopped moving, she hoisted herself up and jumped to a nearby branch. "Not fun..." Hearing an agitated screech, Celeste looked to where the flag was now... on the birdy's ankle. "Why do tests have to be so annoying?! We have to deal with the bird now too?!" she called out. "Salty! You have anymore shells?!" she asked.

Lust Erhöht
|Team LAVA|

Lust simply shrugged when Amber seemed to agree with her 'plan' a light smirk on her lips. She wasn't at all against being complimented, not that she needed anyone to do such. She was at the very least not the type that thrived off attention even if she didn't mind some either. It did at least raise Amber up a notch in her mind, though Vanta on the other hand speaking up ended up going the opposite direction. Quite a dull and boring person despite their specialty being something one would expect might make the individual more intriguing. Perhaps he did scare off the other person as she joked about before? It did feel as if his negative energy was draining away her aura just being near him.

"Oh? Quite manly indeed Amber! I mean a bit meat headed you could say as well, though it is all a give or take and over-all I like it." She spoke seeming to feel the need to include a light jab with her attempt at a compliment. He would make her job quite a bit easier acting as a distraction and his semblance seemed to help lower the risk considering the hindrance to mobility the swamp would put them in. He seemed to be their greatest asset at the moment... well under her naturally even if she had a disadvantage... but at the very least she might put him somewhere a step or two behind her own skills. Seeing him in action would be what would help her figure out just how many steps.

Lust had followed along as they moved forward watching Vanta plant what appeared to be a mine of some sort, as he classified in a few more words a bouncing betty. She wasn't an explosive expert but at the very least she knew so long as he didn't name it oddly that it was a mine when set off that would fire up in the air before exploding. A great boon really when in the swamp which could easily hamper the strength of an explosive. She took a mental note of where it was just in the off chance it might be needed. The way he expressed himself and spoke though did spark a bit of a chuckle from Lust.

"Ah... I see... you are one of those guys who is afraid of women so cower away and try to avoid them and instead refer to inanimate objects as women instead as a way of getting a social connection you are too nervous to make. That explains your unease in that text." She spoke up so just to tease him as she lifted her hand up with two fingers pointing out like a gun before doing a mock firing motion before lowering her hand. A smirk was on her lips enjoying a bit toying with the grumpy Vanta.

"Don't worry, pretty girls like me don't bite. I'm sure if you hang around long enough you will get over your crippling fear and can talk to girls. Hell I'll even help you find a girl who might be interested in brooding with you, well if you swing that way at least." She finished with a little laugh as she slipped her hand into her pocket pulling out another vile of liquefied dust. The red head twirled it around in her fingers as if to further preoccupy herself from the urge to take it right away awaiting to use it for when their enemy pops up it's ugly simulated head.

Right, then. A certain girl's ramblings aside, introductions had at least gone off without much of a hitch. Though a light seasoning of the... Attitude Marigold and Caeso had been flinging about was still present, they had at least been cooperative enough to give their names.

So at the very least, they weren't totally hopeless.

Without her direction, they even started to shuffled off towards the objective on their own, so she soon followed suit. The blonde and boy both moved at a reasonable enough pace, at the very least they were familiar enough with the idea of pacing themselves, despite what their violent approach to the test may have implied. In fact, despite their quibbling, the two of them seemed to hold efficiency in a regard second only to showing off, which she could appreciate.

Their third party member on the other hand was much harder to get a grip on. What, with her both physically and vocally bouncing about from subject to subject, it was hard enough understand what she was saying, let alone what kind of person she was. Something about it felt off.

There was a chance she was unfairly judging the girl, but she'd definitely be keeping an eye on her in particular. Even if she was much more cooperative than the other two seemed to be, the particular brand of mayhem that Lumiere had a feeling she could bring was a shade more alien.

For now, though, she only had the operation in mind. Get the flag, and then get out. Until they were safe and back at the Academy proper, all these postulations could wait.

Team Floc
If Olivia took any kind of offense to Marigold's not so subtle attempts to hasten their progress, she didn't show it. Instead, she merely smiled and swung her arms to and fro as Marigold proceeded to introduce herself to Lumiere and urge them to move. Soft humming emanated from within Olivia's mask as Marigold turned on her, the blonde's words causing Olivia to tilt her head to the side.

"Already aiming to butter me up like breakfast toast?" she held a hand up over her mask and giggled "How shimmering and divine!"

With both of her other teammates following Marigold's lead and taking off after her, Olivia folded her hands behind her back and proceeded to skip forward. Once more, her dainty-looking skips carried her across far more distance than they should've, with her catching up with her teammates before any potential atrocities could even hope to single her out. Like a prancing fairy she continued skipping from one side of the group to the other, eyes casually wandering over their surroundings when they weren't observing her running teammates with amusement.

This would be fun, the few interactions they'd had so far were not at their shiniest, but she could fix that over time. That was the whole point of working together after all. Olivia felt something akin to cheer filling her chest, so she resumed humming another jaunty tune as she pranced. Such different young children were now bound to her throughout their time here, some more aggressive than others but all seeping with an underlying ambition. Olivia found a grin spreading across her face under her mask, fighting with herself to keep her anticipation in check. But she just couldn't help but look to the future.

How could she not, given just how renown these beautiful little darlings were?

Caeso Farran, Marigold Crown and Lumiere Yu; three children intrinsically bound to the legacies of their bloodlines. While some she knew more about than others, all three were now pivotal to her growth as a Huntress.

She couldn't daydream about the future for long, as the woodlands changed around them slightly, she raised her tracker and giggled, "My my, sweethearts," she cooed to her teammates while skipping ahead of them momentarily "it seems our destination draws ever closer to our warm embrace!"

She resumed prancing amongst them as she watched the indicator on the tracker.

Sirius Blagden
Team SSLM
While Jasper was handling the grimm where he was Sirius scrambled up the tree to catch up with Celeste and get in range to be able to effectively shield her from further attacks. "Sorry about that. I was a bit too far away to block that lancer properly." He panted out as he joined her on the branch looking up at the nevermore trying to come up with an idea to get the flag from it. "I think I can help stop it from dodging then we could-" He was interrupted by a thunderous explosion from further down the tree and looked down to see a body dropping out of a cloud of smoke before being scooped up and spirited away by a pair of previously unseen drones with pulsing red lights. "Was that Salt? What do you think happened?" As in reply another drone hovered in the air before them and announced in an electronic voice loud enough for all three of them to hear. "Attention. Salt Shaker has been evacuated for medical treatment. The test will continue."

Watching the drone zip away out of sight Sirius stared after it until a small lancer lunged at him forcing him to pay attention as he slashed off a wing sending it falling to earth. "Ah...alright I have an idea, I can use this to make a big flash that should blind the grimm for a bit and you could use that to shoot the nevermore down or...umm well if you'd be okay with it I might be able to try giving you a boost so you can reach it but I guess that would be pretty dangerous so unless you're up for that we can probably just knock it down...somehow."

"Right. I'm so shy I could have a heart attack, so... just don't talk to me prett-... pffft."

Vanta grabbed his weapons, and rushed forward, tossing a grenade at the ground under the flag, while he jumped behind a tree.

"Prediction. Whatever task they have is hiding under the flag."

[[12]]

An explosion flung debris and mud all over the nearby trees.

The taser flickered to life.

"Prediction. It's not happy."

Vanta rushed out, leaping at the flag, and reaching for it, trying to roll onto a drier patch on the other side. He hoped he'd just popped some mechanical Grimm underneath. But he wasn't naive to assume he'd been right. Hope for the best, plan for the worst. The taser buzzed, and his eyes narrowed, looking around the area for any movement.

"Yippee Kai Yay..."

A tank sounded good right about now, or bumping into his taser. A Grimm snatching Lust up also sounded pretty good. Win win.

Of course, the chance of there being no Grimm, and Vanta being paranoid was also a possibility. This wasn't a video game. People didn't always put 'bosses' near objectives. But then he'd have to deal with Lust nagging him the entire ride back. He'd rather blow himself up than deal with that.
